‘Oh, we’re going to Europe’: Elizabeth Banks eyes Migration sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Banks wants a ‘Migration’ sequel.
The Benjamin Renner-directed Illuminations animation about a group of ducks getting lost in New York City has just hit cinemas, and the 49-year-old actress would love to return for a European adventure as the quick-witted Pam Mallard.
She told RadioTimes.com: “Oh, we’re going to Europe. You know, that’s the next… we’re definitely doing the Mediterranean, I think.”
Whether or not a second film is in the works remains unknown.
The star-studded voice cast also includes Kumail Nanjiani, Keegan-Michael Key, Awkwafina, David Mitchell, and Danny DeVito.
The plot for the flick is: “In a New England forest, Mack Mallard constantly discourages his kids Dax and Gwen from venturing into the outside world much to the displeasure of his wife Pam.
“One day, the Mallards meet a flock of migrating ducks who are en route south to Jamaica which the family finds interesting, but Mack has no such interest. Pam tells Mack that he must open his eyes to the world outside him. That night, Mack talks with his aging Uncle Dan who also does not want to leave the pond. However, Uncle Dan makes Mack second-guess his stance and he decides to let his family migrate, with Uncle Dan joining them at Gwen’s behest, but they end up going north instead of south.
“During a rainstorm, they take up shelter in a swamp underneath a boardwalk where they encounter a crazed elderly great blue heron named Erin, who brings them to her shack to spend the night with herself and her husband Harry. Despite their frightening disposition, the herons prove their good intentions by saving Dax and Gwen from a catfish.
“The following day, the Mallards arrive in New York City where Uncle Dan wanders off and ends up getting the ducks in trouble with a flock of pigeons led by the gritty Chump, but Pam’s assertiveness puts them in Chump’s good graces. Chump leads them to her friend Delroy, a macaw who is from Jamaica but lives caged by a human Chef that owns him. Wanting to set Delroy free, Mack and Pam infiltrate the restaurant where the Chef works to acquire a key to his cage. After evading the humans, they manage to get the key and free Delroy who gratefully guides them to Jamaica.
“While Gwen stops for a bathroom break, Mack discovers an entrance to a paradise full of pekins. The group begins to enjoy themselves but Dax soon finds out the whole place is a duck farm, with the Chef from earlier being one of its clients. Dax helps the pekins and his family escape the farm, but he loses his wing feathers after being stepped on by the Chef, rendering him flightless. The birds stop to rest at a resort where Mack chastises Dax for his recklessness, making an angered Dax disown his father.
“Soon, the Chef finds the birds via helicopter and traps them in a net while Dax and Gwen manage to hide. Inside, the Chef plans to kill Mack and Pam first, prompting Pam to give into despair only for Mack to raise her spirits. Using a salsa dance they learned at the restaurant, they attempt to push a button to release the birds, but the Chef catches them in the act. At this point, Delroy has finally had enough and he, Uncle Dan, and the pekins pelt the Chef with fruits and vegetables. The Chef is knocked unconscious by a squash, hitting a button that causes the helicopter to drop out Pam and Mack, still stuck in their cage. They are saved and freed by their kids with Dax having fixed his wings using some of the other birds’ feathers. Both father and son silently reconcile.
“Now led by Dax, the birds eventually arrive in Jamaica where Delroy reunites with his own friends and the Mallards catch up with the duck family who visited their pond earlier. The following spring, the family is about to head for home when Mack shows them a group of lost penguins that need to get to the South Pole.”

‘I signed up for one movie’: Lashana Lynch has not been approached for James Bond return

OHMYGOSSIP — Lashana Lynch has not been approached about a James Bond return.
The 36-year-old actress played the role of Nomi – a character assigned the 007 codename after Bond retired from the secret service – in the 2021 movie ‘No Time To Die’ and has been suggested as a possible successor to Daniel Craig as the spy although she insists that she only signed up for one movie and questioned whether fans would want a female in the famous part.
Asked about her chances of becoming Bond, Lashana told Entertainment Tonight: “Do you think people really want that? Do you think people are ready for that?
“I signed up for one movie. I did one, I literally don’t know anything about the next one. I’ve not had a conversation. So yeah… it’s in their hands. It’s in the franchise’s hands.”
Meanwhile, Lashana revealed that she would be willing to perform the next Bond theme after getting the chance to showcase her singing talents in the biopic ‘Bob Marley: One Love’, in which she stars as the reggae icon’s wife Rita Marley.
She told On Demand Entertainment: “Oh my gosh – could you let them know!
“I can write a tune or two and do that. Yeah, yeah, sure. I’d be down. I’d be down.
“That’s a great … great idea. That is. Now I’m like, ‘OK, now I must write that down to make sure [Bond producer] Barbara Broccoli knows.”
Lynch previously argued that the Bond franchise will continue to have a huge following, regardless of whether a man or woman plays the character.
The London-born actress said: “With Bond, it could be a man or woman. They could be white, black, Asian, mixed race. They could be young or old. At the end of the day, even if a two-year-old was playing Bond, everyone would flock to the cinema to see what this two-year-old’s gonna do, no?”

Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams starring in Klara and the Sun

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams are set to lead the cast of ‘Klara and the Sun’.
The duo are in negotiations to star in Taika Waititi’s movie that is based on the New York Times best-selling novel by the Japanese-British author Kazuo Ishiguro.
The story follows Klara (Ortega), a robot girl designed to stop teenagers from getting lonely.
Klara is purchased by a mother (Adams) and a bright teen girl called Josie who loves her robot companion but is suffering from a mysterious illness. Klara attempts to save Josie and her loved ones from heartbreak and ends up discovering the power of human love in the process.
The book earned positive reviews following publication and was longlisted for the Booker Prize in 2021.
Dahvi Waller is adapting the script for the film and Ishiguro will serve as an executive producer on the project.
It is another big role for Jenna after her work in the likes of the ‘Scream’ franchise and ‘Wednesday’ although she confessed that she “can’t watch” herself on screen as she would spend too much time obsessing over things she disliked.
The 21-year-old star told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “I can’t watch my work, as I know I won’t be able to push forward and continue to grow as an actor if I cling on to certain things.
“A lot of people in my profession can probably relate to this: when you do a take you don’t like, you go to bed kicking yourself.
“But ultimately, all I can do is be vulnerable and honest when the camera’s on, and then I have to move on and let it go.”
Jenna is determined to be in control of her own career choices and hopes to make a “mistake” so she no longer has to worry about things going wrong.
She said: “I want to be able to really orchestrate my own future and make more specific, precise moves. I’ve even begged a little bit to be allowed to make a mistake. Because how can I learn if I don’t do that for myself?
“I can’t be scared of the fact that I might fall on my face. But it’s hard to do that when so many people are watching.”

Ex-‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Giovanni Pernice becomes millionaire

OHMYGOSSIP — Giovanni Pernice has become a millionaire after his earnings tripled in 12 months.
The 33-year-old professional dancer, who had appeared on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, saw his personal firm, ‘GP Entertainment Ltd.’ possess assets worth £1,189,327, up from £483,126 the previous year. The business also has got £809,776 in reserves despite Giovanni reportedly only being paid a £35,000 flat fee for appearing on the BBC programme, as well as £50,000 for live show tours.
Revealing his business last year, the dancer said: “My dream come true is finally here! ‘VITA’ is my new fragrance for men and women – an intoxicating scent that captures the sensuality, vitality and energy of Sicily.”
Giovanni also reportedly cashed in from his relationship with ‘Strictly’ judge Anton Du Beke, with the pair earning a whopping £1 million each after a string of projects together, including TV travelogues and stage tours.
This news comes as the dancer is dealing with an ongoing feud with previous ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner Amanda Abbington, who quit the show in October after claiming that her time on the programme with Giovanni left her suffering with PTSD.
Reflecting on her time on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, the ‘Sherlock’ actress, who shares her husband with ex-husband Martin Freeman, told The Sun newspaper: “I just want to thank everyone who has been so kind and lovely and supportive this past week. It means a great, great deal.
“I was diagnosed with mild PTSD after ‘Strictly’ for several reasons and I told a few people about that, in the utmost confidence, among other things that were happening in my life at the time both professionally and personally.
“I’m very sorry that people felt the need to send me death threats, threaten my children and bring up my past, healthy relationship with an ex-partner as an indicator of my current mental health. I wish those people well.”

Danny Dyer ‘set to appear on The Great British Bake Off’s Stand Up To Cancer celeb special

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer is reportedly set to appear on ‘The Great British Bake Off’ Stand Up To Cancer celebrity special.
The TV hardman, 46, will try his hand in the show’s marquee while shooting football hooligan drama ‘Marching Powder’, which is the follow up to 2004’s ‘The Football Factory’.
A TV source told The Sun: “Danny once said he could never go on the show as he got drunk at a bash, and when he met Mary Berry he licked her ear.”
The Sun also reported former EastEnders star Danny will be joined by several other famous names for the miniseries, which aims to raise money to fight the disease.
Danny revealed in 2015 he turned down a chance to appear on the ‘Bake Off’ celebrity special because he was worried he had offended its then-judge Mary, 88, by licking her ear during a drunken acceptance speech at an awards ceremony the year before.
After EastEnders picked up the best soap prize at the TV Choice Awards in 2014, Danny appeared late on stage and started to manhandle Mary, who was presenting the gong to the BBC soap’s stars – appearing to lean in to kiss her before Mary accepted a peck on the cheek and brushed him off.
During an appearance on Jonathan Ross’ ITV chat a few months later, Danny said about turning down the chance to appear in a celebrity version of ‘The Great British Bake Off’: “They’ve asked me to do it but I don’t know how Mary is with me because I cuddled her at the awards.”
Meanwhile, Danny has been photographed in body armour before getting punched while shooting his new gangland film, which has a working title of ‘Marching Powder’.
He is reprising the role of hooligan Tommy Johnson from ‘The Football Factory’ and a witness told The Sun about the rough scene: “He may be 20 years older – but Dan’s character still looks a menace.”

‘The Crown’ star Jason Watkins convinced he has ADHD

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Crown’ star Jason Watkins is convinced he suffers from ADHD.
He has admitted the condition – which can cause everything from hyperactivity to impulsiveness – was bought to his attention by his youngest son, Gilbert, who bought him a book on it.
The BAFTA-winning actor, 61, who has four kids and is famed for his stage career and for playing British Prime Minister Harold Wilson on the third series of Netflix’s popular royal drama ‘The Crown’, told former newspaper editor and Downing Street spin doctor Andy Coulson’s ‘Crisis What Crisis?’ podcast: “I thought that book was for me to read about him, possibly. But it was me.
“And he said, ‘Of course it’s you. I’ve given you the book, you read it.’”
Jason, who has also appeared in the ITVX drama ‘Archie’, also revealed he now believes his suspected attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder was obvious before his son gave him the book.
He added: “I did sport and acting and everything, but reading and writing… my eyes would jump around and I couldn’t concentrate.
“It’s probably ADHD, almost definitely.”
Jason also told Andy’s podcast how he wants accident and emergency units to examine procedures surrounding infants after his young daughter died from sepsis.
Opening up about his fury over the death of his two-year-old girl Maude on New Year’s Day 2011, he said the rage led him to smash up his shower.
He added: “It was anger at fate. Why should we deserve this? You feel really vulnerable and there’s a sort of rage against that.
“And there are all these different ways of resolving and wrestling out of this horrible dark pit that you’re in.
“Sometimes you feel like a complete victim and there’s no way out, and other times you start smashing the shower up because you’ve got to break out and get on with life.”
Jason and his wife Clara had taken Maude to their doctor and hospital before they came back to A and E the following day when she became pale and floppy and passed away, and he now campaigns for the UK Sepsis Trust.
He added: “My anger was fuelled into trying to work out better ways of dealing with sepsis, or even more than that, the way that we look at infants in A and E. “Because I had identified that there wasn’t an individual at fault in the hospital, it has to be the system. So we’ve got to improve it.”

Rylan Clark stopped attending football matches over homophobia fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark says homophobia kept him from going to football matches.
The 35-year-old TV star, who shot to fame after appearing on ‘The X Factor’ in 2012, was a member of the Junior Hammers supports club for West Ham United as a child, but felt he was pushed out because of his sexuality. Rylan has now made a documentary called ‘Homophobia, Football and Me’ to showcase what he experienced.
During the show, he said: “Growing up loving football and being a West Ham fan, I always assumed I’d be able to go to games whenever I wanted as I got older.
“But as times moved on, and as a gay man, I sometimes felt uncomfortable around spectators at games.
“I’m not easily offended, but some of the language and insults that are used on a daily basis by football crowds made going to games almost impossible, especially as I got more and more known and started having them directed at me.
“This documentary aims to highlight that football is for everyone regardless of what you get up to in your private life.”
Rylan, who was married to Dan Neal from 2015 to 2021, also recently revealed he was looking for a new boyfriend.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “I’m ready to date and I’m on the apps. I’m on Tinder, but dating is hard, and it’s even worse for me.”
The ‘This Morning’ host then explained what he was looking for in a potential partner.
He said: “I w ant to come home at night to someone who will ask how my day is. Me ask how their day is, have a cuddle, have a kiss, go to bed.
“I don’t care if they’re a Hollywood actor or an electrician or a gardener, none of it bothers me.
“All I want is someone to share it with.”

Gemma Oaten returning to Doctors in new role before longrunning soap ends

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Oaten is returning to ‘Doctors’ after 13 years to bid farewell to the soap that gave her her start in acting.
The 39-year-old actress has an episode called ‘The Lairy Godmother’ coming to the BBC One Soap – which has been cancelled by the broadcaster after 24 years, due to financial issues – next Monday (05.02.24), in which she will play the role of Dani.
It’s a “full-circle moment” after Gemma – who is best known for playing Rachel Breckle on ITV’s ‘Emmerdale’ – landed her first screen role as Sam Doyle on ‘Doctors’ in 2011.
She began a lengthy Instagram post: “Super excited to share some telly box news!
Hello from Dani who will be appearing in @doctorsbbc next Monday 5th Feb!
Absolutely buzzing to be asked back to the show that gave me my 1st ever TV role within 2 months of graduating from Drama school, some THIRTEEN YEARS AGO!
What’s even crazier is, it is aired almost 13yrs to the day of that debut back in 2011. (sic)”
She went on to share how she “grafted like no other” to land her original ‘Doctors’ role, after finishing therapy for an eating disorder, and shared an empowering message about never giving up on your dreams.
Gemma recalled: “Having graduated from drama school already signed to an agent, I knew I was one of the luckiest. But then, I also worked damned hard. Having finished my last therapy session in 2009 for treatment of the eating disorder, I grafted like no other, especially as I’d nothing to lose. I’d already almost lost my life 5 times and I was finally grabbing my time. So to then get the role of Sam Doyle in #Doctors it was a dream come true. Cast by the amazing @brettfallis who literally changed my life, as 4mths after my debut aired, I was cast as Rachel Breckle in @emmerdale. (sic)”
Gemma is “sad” that the show that helped so many rising actors has been scrapped.
She continued: “This is the thing about Doctors, it was a training ground for so many up and coming actors and they gave us a chance. So to be able to return before it ends for good is such a blessing, tinged with sadness of course, as we lose such a brilliant show and platform. (sic)”
Gemma added how she loved getting to show off her “comedy chops” playing Dani.
She wrote: “Ahead of my TV debut I decided to write to up to 100 casting directors and producers with a twist… My GP who had supported me and helped save my life over 13yrs with the #eatingdisorder, allowed me to have a blank prescription page so I could invite all to watch me (see pics) and the rest is history.
Now I’m back to say 1 final goodbye to the show that changed it all. What a full circle moment for me. 1 I will never take for granted. Never forget where you started and always allow yourself to embrace how far you’ve come, no matter what that looks like.
As you can see – “Sam” versus “Dani” couldn’t be further apart and I’m so excited for you to see my episode “The Lairy Godmother” as it was so much fun and I got to embrace my comedy chops! I was bouncing off the walls on set daily… She is quite a character! I’ll say no more and leave you to watch. (sic)”
Gemma concluded: “Key message? Dont ever give up on your dreams, and, more importantly, yourself…
You matter (sic)”

Denis Villeneuve wants to leave Dune franchise as a trilogy

OHMYGOSSIP — Denis Villeneuve insists the third ‘Dune’ film will be his last in the franchise.
The filmmaker insists that after the second flick ‘Dune: Part Two’, which followed the 2021 epic war film, adapted from Frank Herbert’s original classic novel, ‘Dune Messiah’ will be his last outing if it’s green-lit, despite there being four more books.
He told Time magazine: “Dune Messiah should be the last Dune movie for me.”
Villeneuve will then turn his attention to adaptations of Stacy Schiff’s ‘Cleopatra’ and Arthur C. Clarke’s ‘Rendezvous With Rama’.
Zendaya recently said she would “of course” return for ‘Dune 3’.
The 27-year-old actress is open to reprising her role of Chani in a potential ‘Dune Messiah’ film and insisted that she will work with the director again anytime he asks.
She told Fandango: “Would we be down? I mean of course. Anytime Denis calls it’s a yes from me, at least. I’m excited to see what happens. I started Messiah and I was like, ‘Woah, I’m only shooting the first movie. Let me just go back to the first one.’ It’s so much to take in, and I think there’s no better hands with better care and love for it than him [Villeneuve].”
‘Dune: Part Two’, starring Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Josh Brolin and Rebecca Ferguson will be released in March and Zendaya can’t wait to see it.
She said: “I’m just excited to see … It’s just anticipation.
“Whenever he is ready. I know he’s a perfectionist in many ways and doesn’t want to share things unless he’s fully ready to do that. So [I’m] respecting that and waiting until he’s ready.”
Villeneuve previously revealed he would love to make a trilogy, with the third movie based on Herbert’s ‘Dune Messiah’, the second book in his ‘Dune’ series.
He told Empire: “If I succeed in making a trilogy, that would be the dream. I will say, there are words on paper [for a third film].”

Daisy Ridley gets ’emotional’ over what Star Wars means to fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley gets “emotional” when she thinks about what ‘Star Wars’ means to fans.
The 31-year-old actress starred as Jakku scavenger Rey in ‘The Force Awakens’, ‘The Last Jedi’, and ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ and after signing up to appear in the next film in the sci-fi franchise – which will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and is slated for release in 2026 – admitted that it has been “wonderful” to be part of such a cult fandom.
She told Collider: “When we did the announcement last year, it was really, my agent flew over and honestly, I came off and we were all really emotional. Of course, I always feel lucky to be part of it, but it was like a reminder I suppose of, sorry I’m just gabbling, but I suppose a reminder of how people do feel about Rey. I was like, ‘It’s wonderful.’
“It’s wonderful to be part of something that people love and to play a character that people…
“It’s so weird. It’s really making me emotional thinking about it. I get to have more adventures. I’m like, “Where is she now? What is this new adventure and how are things going to go?” That’s a long way of saying it’s great. It’s really great.”
The ‘Ophelia’ star’s last appearance in the franchise came in 2019 and she admitted that she never expected her comeback would come so soon.
She said: “It’s strange because I didn’t think it would be so soon, and then I feel like it was 11 years ago that I was cast, and I’m like, ‘But aren’t I 60?’ Time is going too fast! But it’s wonderful,’. she beamed. “I feel like all of the roles I’ve been able to do feel so different and so wonderful, but they all feel great. Each thing I’ve done is like, “That was just wonderful.”

“When I first started acting, I’d do plays and short films, and I’d pick the craziest characters to play. I love playing a wide assortment of characters.
“I’ve loved Romeo, but I’ve played the same thing for a long time now, so it would be Bice to do something different and get into some different shoes.”

Tina Malone hires exorcist to remove ghost from home: ‘I don’t care if people think I’m potty!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Tina Malone has hired an exorcist to remove a ghost from her home.
The 61-year-old actress, who is best known for appearing in ‘Shameless’, is convinced she is being haunted by the paranormal, which has followed her to her new home in Cheshire. In order to free herself from the spirits’ grip, Tina has hired exorcist Ian Lawman to cleanse her home.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: “I am quite open about my relationship with the ghost.
“People do think I’m mad, eccentric or a bit potty – I don’t care.”
During the investigation, which was filmed for the Discovery+ series ‘Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted’, Ian claimed to sense the presence of an other-worldly entity, and could even hear it whispering.
Reflecting on her relationship with ghosts, Tina said: “My paranormal experience started at the age of seven.”
The actress then explained that her ghostly experiences began in her Liverpool home, where she was haunted by a “well-known merchant who had been dead over 100 years at the time – William James McKenzie.”
She said: “I always remember his hand being on my bed and it was globed, and he would pul the covers off my bed.
“Some days he would have this grey face, some says he would have almost like a Skeletor-type face, under the top hat.”
The series will also include former ‘Geordie Shore’ star Chloe Ferry, who wants to remove “Nineteenth Century serial killer lurking in her halls”, as well as ‘Chuckle Brothers’ star Paul Chuckle, former ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestant Russell Watson, Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell and fashion star Jodie Kidd.

Corrie legend Julie Hesmondhalgh reveals her ‘big issue’ with leaving the ITV1 soap

OHMYGOSSIP — Julie Hesmondhalgh was “nervous” about her career after leaving ‘Coronation Street’.
The 53-year-old actress played the role of knicker stitcher Hayley Cropper on the ITV1 soap opera from 1998 until 2014 but admitted that one of her “big issues” with deciding to leave was that she was “kept young” by her dramatic storylines that aren’t often found elsewhere.
Speaking on the ‘Actors’ Benevolent Fund’ podcast, she said: “One of the big issues for me in my list of pros and cons about leaving was that ‘Coronation Street’ is a really, really amazing place to grow old. Especially as a woman. There aren’t very many other genres, I suppose where though you’re still getting fabulous storylines in your 80s and 90s.
“You know, you’re still having love affairs and divorces and being held at gunpoint in the sweet shop. It’s an amazing thing, and also it keeps you young. And so that really was the main thing that made me nervous about leaving.”
As Hayley Cropper, Julie played the first transsexual character ever on a British soap opera and her storylines included striking up a relationship with Roy Cropper (David Neilson) – whom she later married as soon as it became legal to do so -, discovering her long-lost son Christian (Andrew Turner), whom she had fathered whilst living as Harold, and buying baby Amy from Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) for £25,000.
The character was killed off in January 2014 when she decided to take her own life amid a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Since leaving the show, Julie has appeared alongside Dawn French in ‘The Trouble with Maggie Cole’, and starred as Alan Bates wife Suzanne Sercombe in ‘Mr Bates Vs the Post Office’ amongst a host of other dramas and explained that programmes like ‘Happy Valley – which starred Julie’s fellow former ‘Corrie’ star Sarah Lancashire as an “every woman” police offer – have “done wonders” in terms of giving women in the industry opportunities.
She added: “You know, things like ‘Happy Valley’ have done wonders for middle aged women, ordinary looking middle aged women. Sarah Lancashire is just like every woman and I don’t know, a single person who wasn’t captivated by that performance and saw something of themselves in it.
“You know, [a] sort of curmudgeonly ordinary woman dealing with these extraordinary circumstances. And, I think that has helped when something like that is so popular, and it’s captured the national imagination in that way. I think that the commissioners then think, ‘Oh, we want more of this!'”

Claudia Winkleman reportedly receives six-figure offer to host Saturday night show for ITV

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Winkleman has reportedly received a big money offer to host a Saturday night show for ITV.
The 52-year-old presenter hosts BBC favourites ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ alongside Tess Daly and ‘The Traitors’ on her own but now insiders have claimed that the rival broadcaster is trying to offer her a six-figure deal reportedly worth £500,000 that would still allow her to continue her other hosting jobs.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “ITV very much see Claudia as the presenter of the moment. She’s smart, fun, witty, hard-working and is so sharp she’s considered a safe pair of hands when it comes to live TV.
“That means she could pretty much tackle any project bosses could throw at her, and it might offer her the next step up in her stellar career.
“There’s no suggestion that Claudia is about to quit ‘Strictly’, or that the BBC are concerned about her quitting the corporation entirely.”
The TV star began her career in the late 1990s and whilst she started off on ITV programmes like ‘This Morning’ and ‘Talking Telephone Numbers’, she has spent the majority of her time on television working for the BBC but after making guest appearances on other shows is said to be keen to explore opportunities outside of her usual employer.
However, bosses at ITV are said to be aware that they need to make the offer worth it for Claudia, especially after she was at the helm of hit game show ‘The Traitors’ in January.
The insider added: “But she has been exploring more avenues recently, guest hosting on Ant and Dec’s ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ on ITV and ‘The Piano’ for Channel 4.
“And since The Traitors became such a huge hit, everyone has been after a piece of Claudia. It’s just that an ITV show is seen as a natural move for her.
“But they’ll need to offer her a deal that will make it attractive enough as she is believed to earn at least £150,000 to front Strictly with Tess and is likely to get more for doing the solo presenting job on ‘The Traitors’.

‘Not the most pleasant thing’: Yorgos Lanthimos thinks his films should be classed as more than absurdist

OHMYGOSSIP — Yorgos Lanthimos hopes that his films are considered more than just absurdist.
The 50-year-old director is known for surreal movies including ‘The Lobster’ and ‘Poor Things’ but would prefer for audiences not to box his work “into one thing”.
Speaking at an interview organised by the British Film Institute (BFI) in London on Wednesday (31.01.24), Yorgos said: “It’s always not the most pleasant thing to just be boxed into one thing. I guess there is some kind of absurdity in the films, but I hope they’re more complex than that.
“I understand why people have the need to describe it a certain way or make sense of it by using language. But the thing is, the trouble is language is not always sufficient for any kind of work of art.”
The Greek filmmaker’s latest picture ‘Poor Things’ has been critically acclaimed and is up for 11 prizes at the Academy Awards next month, with Lanthimos revealing how he was thrilled to collaborate with Emma Stone once again as she plays the part of Bella Baxter.
He recalled: “We got to know each other really well, even before making ‘The Favourite’, because we started discussing it a couple of years before, and it took some time to get made. So we became friends during that time.
“Then when we actually had the working experience, it was just obvious that we got along and we like working together.”
Yorgos added: “She immediately jumped on ‘Poor Things’ as soon as she heard the story… And the rest is history.”
The filmmaker is known for his unique approach to preparation work and explained how he creates games for stars to get comfortable during a production.
Yorgos said: “I come up with games for the actors to get to know each other and feel comfortable to make a fool of themselves and make the process light and fun.
“We shouldn’t be taking things too seriously. We are making movies.”
