Doctor Who to get first ever immersive episode

OHMYGOSSIP — Episode four of the new series of ‘Doctor Who’ is being released as an immersive experience.
The BBC has confirmed it will release a special, heart-pounding version of the episode ‘Knock Knock’ – penned by ‘Doctor Foster’ writer Mark Bartlett – on BBC iPlayer after the episode airs on BBC One May 6 at 7.20pm.
The second version will be turned into a special “binaural” version featuring special effects that will make viewers feel as if they are actually there thanks to 3D sound technology.
And the alternative recording of the show will feature “a 3D surround sound effect for anyone wearing headphones, placing them at the heart of the action in this nail-biting episode”.
The episode is based on the fears of Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor after new companion Bill Potts – played by Pearl Mackie – moves into a houseshare with some friends and discovers evil floor-creaking termites at the property owned by the landlord, portrayed by guest actor David Suchet who is most famous for starring in ‘Agatha Christie’s Poirot’.
As a result, viewers who log-on to watch the Bill Anderson-directed episode on iPlayer will hear a sound manipulated version that will trick them into thinking the scary sounds from the creaks and the monsters are coming from all around the viewer as if their own home is infested just like Bill’s.
It is not clear whether the binaural episode will also work with surround-sound speakers, even though 3D audio effects usually does but anyone wearing headphones are expected to feel the full immersive experience.

Emmerdale's Zoe Henry lets Jonathan Wrather stay at her home

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’s Jonathan Wrather has been staying at his co-star Zoe Henry’s house.
The actor’s alter-ego Pierce Harris may have become one of the most hated men in the soap after he viciously raped his new wife Rhona Goskirk – played by Zoe – in last night’s episode (24.04.17) following months of domestic abuse, but the brunette beauty has admitted Jonathan is actually one of “the nicest guys” and he has been living at her home while they’re shooting the graphic scenes.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (25.04.17), she said: “Jonathan is the nicest guy. He stays with us and we have sleepovers. It’s quite good fun. We are able to run lines and gives us an opportunity to do more work. We are a good group to work through these storylines and work together.”
Not only does Jonathan regularly spend nights at Zoe’s but her husband and co-star Jeff Hordley, 47, who she married in 2003, likes to cook a slap up meal for the hunk when he’s staying round.
The mother-of-two said: “Jeff is a brilliant cook as well. He has been through some big storylines in the past as well.”
The storyline has had viewers gripped for weeks and, although she doesn’t really like spoilers, Zoe thinks it’s good that the show bosses Ian Macleod told fans that there would be a rape this week.
Zoe explained: “We were forewarned the wedding will end in rape and watching it back I thought it was quite heavy. But we can’t tell half a story. You can’t cut it down or make it less brutal because what he’s done is brutal and awful. If we don’t tell is properly, then we’re not doing our jobs right. Women’s Aid have said when a story like this is aired they get a spike in reports. And that’s incredible.”

Emmerdale's Zoe Henry bruised rape scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Emmerdale’s Zoe Henry’s horrific rape scenes left her covered in bruises.
Viewers were left heartbroken during last night’s (24.04.17) episode when manipulative lawyer Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather) forced himself onto his new wife Rhona Goskirk (Zoe) just hours after they tied the knot in front of their friends and family.
And, although the horrific scenes were well-rehearsed before they were captured on camera, Jonathan has admitted he accidentally injured his co-star during the scuffle.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Tuesday (25.04.17), he explained: “They were difficult to do, luckily we get an element of rehearsal on those ones. It was great to work with a fight director so all that thing had to be choreographed. You couldn’t just turn up on set and go: ‘Hi, crew and just work this one out.’ It was very hard-hitting – I’ve not seen it screen but I remember doing it – we shot it in chronology so it’s very much up here but most of it was very much implied. You don’t see a lot, but in a sense it makes it more powerful!
“Zoe will say that she did get one or two bruises along the way. We were fully committed to it, we had to be, we wanted to make it as truthful as possible!”
Although the storyline is disturbing for the cast and crew to watch, Jonathan has admitted he jumped at the chance to take it on because it’s happening in real life often.
He said: “Pierce is seemingly this kind of sorted, charming, well-adjusted individual but behind closed doors he is perturbed and disturbed. It’s happening all too often, we work with a number of groups – Women’s Aid and various crisis groups – to make sure we get it right. The facts and statistics are pretty shocking and not nice at all.”

Carol Vorderman will still do solo flight

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol Vorderman is still planning to do her round-the-world solo flight this year.
It was initially thought the former ‘Countdown’ star had cancelled his globe-trotting trip after her mother Jean, 88, was diagnosed with an incurable cancer recently but it looks like the challenge is very much still on as Joel Dommett – who she met while competing on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ last year – has revealed him and the rest of the jungle crew are set to wish her off when she jumps on board her plane.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, Joel said: “Carol’s doing her round-the-world flight and we’re going to see her off. We all get on really well and meet up now and again. We’ve got a WhatsApp group we all chat on. I went to see Danny Baker’s show at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire recently which was so good.
“I wanted to get some new, exciting friends from the show and I’ve done that. You get on with the people you want to get on with and you ignore the ones you don’t.”
Carol announced she was going to jet around the world in her twin-engine propeller plane named Mildred after she obtained her pilot’s licence in 2014.
It’s believed the 56-year-old presenter’s journey through Europe, Asia, Russia, across the Pacific Ocean, the US and back to the UK will be captured on camera and turned into a show called ‘Carol’s Incredible Solo Flight Around The World’.
Carol announced that her mother had been diagnosed with the disease last month but Jean is adamant that she doesn’t want her family to halt their plans for her sake.
Jean said recently: “At my age I don’t want to undergo any further operations or chemotherapy treatment which can’t cure these new cancers anyway.
“Now my family and me will concentrate on being happy and celebrating the time we have together. I’m refusing to let them be sad.”

Karen Gillan mistaken for a man after Galaxy haircut

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Gillan got mistaken for a man after shaving off her hair for the first ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ film.
The 29-year-old actress stars as blue-skinned alien Nebula in the Marvel franchise and had to shear all of her long, flame-coloured locks off for the 2014 film, something she was prepared to do to land the role.
Karen was ready to take the clippers to her hair once again for the sequel but director James Gunn and the crew told her she only needed to lose some strands from the back of her head this time, something she was very grateful for as she didn’t want to be called “sir” again.
The former ‘Doctor Who’ star said: “I just shave the back section of my hair this time. But having no hair was an amazing experience. I’m glad I did it. People did keep calling me sir, though. One time I was laying on a hotel room bed in the dark during the day. A man came in to do the turndown service and said, ‘Oh I’m sorry, sir.’ I was tired and didn’t want to have to explain that I as a woman so I just put on this deep voice and went, ‘No problem.’ It was one of the weirdest moments in my life.”
Revealing it takes her four hours in makeup to become Nebula, she added: “I find blue bits in my ears a week later. It takes about four hours to get ready each morning. Going to the bathroom on set is a whole thing.”
Karen has a bigger role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ with fans getting to learn a lot more about Nebula’s complicated relationship with her sister Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and her adoptive supervillain father, mutant eternal Thanos, something she is very grateful for.
The Scottish beauty said: “I was over the moon to read the script and find I had all this stuff to do. Nebula is bitter and twisted. Her backstory isn’t just hinted at, we really get into it in the new film.”
Karen was in London on Monday night (04.24.17) to attend the European premiere of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’.
She was joined on the special blue carpet by her co-stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Kurt Russell and Saldana and director James Gunn.

Sophie Turner to reprise Jean Grey role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Turner is to reprise her role as Jean Grey in the upcoming ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress first starred as the psychic superhero in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ last year and she is now set to have her own standalone movie based on the Marvel Comics character’s alter-ego Dark Phoenix.
‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ will be one of three ‘X-Men’ films released in 2018 including ‘Deadpool 2’ and teen-orientated ‘The New Mutants’.
The film, originally titled ‘X-Men: Supernova’, can be seen as a potential reboot of the 2006 ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ which was the end of the original trilogy.
Fans of the comic book version of the ‘Dark Phoenix’ saga would have noticed a difference in the story compared to the film adaptation in 2006.
One of the reasons why ‘The Last Stand’ is not favourably among fans is because director Bryan Singer left the franchise to make ‘Superman Returns’.
At the moment Singer isn’t confirmed to direct ‘Dark Phoenix’ but longtime ‘X-Men’ screenwriter Simon Kinberg is rumoured to be up for the job according to GQ.
Last year, Fox released a video of Kinberg answering fan questions and said: “I never I wanted to tell the ‘Dark Phoenix’ stories a little different than the way they’re being told.
“So we really didn’t get to dig into those characters and they’re such huge, iconic characters in the franchise and we didn’t do it in ‘Days of Future Past’ for obvious reasons until the end.”
The film is scheduled to be released in November 2018 and it will give the telekinetic powered Jean, who embodies the Phoenix Force, her own story and background.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly last year, Turner, 21, said: “The seeds of Phoenix definitely are planted in ‘Apocalypse’. She can’t control her powers unless she either fully stops them or lets them all loose and that’s kind of Phoenix. I think in future movies to come we’ll definitely see a bit more of that.”

Kellie Maloney has haunted pub

OHMYGOSSIP — Kellie Maloney thinks her pub is haunted.
The 64-year-old former boxing legend is planning to re-open her 250-year-old boozer the Unicorn in Marden, Kent, next month but has been forced to call in her exorcist friend Becs prior to the relaunch because she’s convinced a ghost – believed to be a former landlord from the 1800s – is roaming around the premises.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Kellie – who was known as Frank before she transitioned into a woman in 2014 – said: “Becs sensed there is a friendly spirit who passes through. He comes through the coffee shop after closing time and disappears up the chimney.”
As well as her supernatural concerns, Kellie recently admitted that she’s been struggling to find love since she underwent gender reassignment surgery three years ago.
She said: “Dating is a sad topic for me. I’m having problems with love. I want to date, of course, but it’s hard. I’ve been on a few good dinner dates with men but when they realise who I am, they make up an excuse and leave or never contact me again.
“I think they’re scared of being judged or it’ my history in boxing – I don’t know.”
Kellie would like to date a younger man because they’re less likely to know about his past, but thinks it would embarrass her daughters, Emma, 39, Sophie, 21, and 15-year-old Libby.
She explained: “The problem is that men my age freak out when they find out who I am and it scares them off. I’ve thought about younger men – I was asked out by a 28 year old the other day – but I have to be respectful to my daughters. I don’t want them to feel embarrassed.”

Larry Lamb would do another soap

OHMYGOSSIP — Larry Lamb would “never say never” to signing up with another soap.
The 69-year-old actor portrayed bad boy Archie Mitchell in the BBC’s ‘EastEnders’ from 2008 until his character’s shocking death a year later and, although he’d never reprise his role in the long-running show, he’d be open to joining a rival programme.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “‘EastEnders’ is this thing that rolls on. People go in and out of it. I don’t think he could come back as a ghost. I wouldn’t look good in the white veil. It wouldn’t work, so that’s it. Archie Mitchell has had his day.”
However, when asked if he’d join a rival like ITV’s ‘Coronation Street’ or ‘Emmerdale’, the silver fox added: “Never say never!”
Although he’s not thinking about joining a soap opera anytime soon, Larry certainly isn’t short of work as he became a fan favourite when he competed in the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ jungle in the Australian outback at the end of last year.
And Larry thinks the experience, which he competed alongside the likes of Carol Vorderman, Joel Dommett and Scarlett Moffatt, brought him closer to his family.
Asked if his time on the show was how he expected it to be, he said: “Absolutely. To spend three weeks cooking on a fire and having to make sure everything’s ready and in order. And to live an ordered life in what are potentially chaotic circumstances, it’s done me the world of good. More than anything, it’s made me appreciate my family.
“To listen to the chat between everybody there about how they relate to their families. Wayne is a wonderful dad. And Jordan has been parented by amazing people. Those different familial situations I have become aware of with them has just made me understand how lucky I’ve been but just how much more I’ve got to do.”

Stephanie Pratt thinks ex Joey Essex 'hates' her

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Pratt thinks Joey Essex “hates” her.
The 31-year-old beauty embarked on a short-lived romance with the former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star after they met filming ‘Celebs Go Dating’ last October, and though she hasn’t seen him since they split over the phone, she has no idea why he has so much hostility towards her.
She said: “He hates me. I have no idea why he dislikes me so much but he did ‘In Bed With Jamie’ and said some rude things about me.
“We broke up over the phone when I was in LA and I’ve not seen him since.”
But Stephanie doesn’t have any hard feelings towards her former lover.
She said: “I had the best time doing that show and I really did enjoy my time with Joey. We had a lot of fun together so there are no regrets.”
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star has been on a “couple” of dates with rugby player Ollie Lindsay-Hague and though things aren’t serious yet, she would like her next boyfriend to be on the show with her.
She said: “I’d love my next boyfriend to be on the show. I’m so open about my life on ‘Made in Chelsea’ so it would be weird to keep my relationship private. Bringing a guy on television is actually a really good way to test if they’re genuine too.
“In the past, I’ve dated guys who have only been with me because they want to be in the spotlight, as soon as filming is over they break up with me.”
And Stephanie has found she isn’t involved in much “drama” on the show because her personal life hasn’t been a big part of the programme recently.
She told OK! magazine: “I’ve taken a bit of a step back from all the drama because I’m not dating anyone on the show. I actually miss dating on camera. It was fun but all the single guys are too young for me.”

Chloe Meadows dating hunky builder

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Meadows is reportedly dating builder Taylor Barnett.
The 24-year-old ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star has reportedly struck up a relationship with the hunky builder, who is a close friend of Myles Barnett, the boyfriend of Chloe’s best friend Courtney Green.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Chloe is really happy with Taylor. She’s watched best pal Courtney date Myles so it’s lovely for her to be getting to know someone now too.
“Courtney and Chloe love that their boyfriends are close – with them even sharing the same surname. Chloe’s started to take Taylor with her to press events and they’ve been hanging out together as a group too.”
The reported new couple were first spotted together earlier this month when Chloe took him to the Jog On To Cancer event in Kensington, where they were seen locking lips.
It’s unlikely Chloe will ever share her romance on screen though, as she previously said her “insecurity issues” are too severe to let her boyfriend appear on television with her.
She said: “My insecurity issues are so bad anyway. I’d crumble if a boyfriend started to get attention from being on television.”
Meanwhile, Chloe admitted first went on the reality TV show because she wanted to get her ex-boyfriend back, but was left disheartened when pictures of her on the beach emerged online and shattered her chances.
She explained at the time: “I used to cry when I saw photos of me on the beach. I went on the show to try and get my ex back and when I saw those photos I thought, ‘He’ll never want me back now.’ Those pictures will haunt me forever. I want to lose a stone and a half. My perfect thing would be for someone to say that I look too thin.”

Ferne McCann 'considering quitting Essex'

OHMYGOSSIP — Ferne McCann is considering leaving Essex for the sake of her unborn baby.
The 26-year-old TV star is reportedly thinking of starting a new life with her baby following the arrest of her boyfriend Arthur Collins, who has been charged with 14 counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and one of throwing corrosive fluid on a person in relation to an acid attack at a London nightclub.
A pal of the mum-to-be – who made her name on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ – revealed: “She’s seriously considering moving away for a fresh start for the sake of her child.
“It’s been a hell of an ordeal for her and she really needs some space to clear her head and decide what’s for the best.”
Ferne’s friends have suggested she should make a fresh start away from Essex, and the reality TV star is apparently open to the idea.
The source told The Sun newspaper: “She just needs some calm and at the moment everything in Essex would make her think of what happened.
“Everyone knows her and Arthur and they’re all talking about what has gone on.
“A couple of people have been suggesting a bit of a clean break could be the best thing and she’s taking the advice on board.”
Meanwhile, another of Ferne’s pals recently admitted to being saddened by the situation, which has seen the ‘This Morning’ presenter detach herself from her friends.
The insider explained: “We had no idea [she was pregnant]. It’s really worrying – we don’t know what she’s going to do now, it’s really sad, we’re all here for her but she’s not speaking to anyone. We don’t even know where she is.
“She wouldn’t have wanted it to be like this. It’s really sad … she isn’t getting to celebrate being pregnant like other first time mum’s – she doesn’t deserve this, she is a lovely girl and she deserves only happiness. Everyone is really concerned for her.”

Chris Pratt: Suicide Squad had 'too many characters'

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Pratt thinks ‘Suicide Squad’s “flaw” was “introducing too many characters”.
The DC Comics super villain ensemble movie was met with mixed reviews when it was released last year, and 37-year-old actor Chris – who stars as Star-Lord in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ from rival comic book company Marvel – has said one of the drawbacks in the feature was that audiences didn’t have time to connect with the onslaught of fresh faces.
Chris said of ‘Suicide Squad’: “I really like all the Warner Bros. movies. I think they’re really cool and I’m not a real tough critic on those movies. But one of the flaws might have been they were introducing too many characters in ‘Suicide Squad’. They spent 10 minutes telling us why should we care about these characters, rather than creating trilogies for each character and convincing us to care about the characters.”
Chris then went on to compare the character development in ‘Suicide Squad’ with Marvel’s first ensemble venture ‘Avengers’, which built up its characters in their own standalone movies first.
Speaking to io9.com, Chris added: “It’s like hardwood. They grew it really slowly so it’s strong. They didn’t create ‘The Avengers’ first. They did ‘Iron Man’. And they tested it to make sure it worked. Then they did [‘Iron Man 2’] and [‘Iron Man 3’], then they did [‘Captain America’], and then they did ‘Thor’. And they created a thirst for these characters, and that’s when they put them in ‘The Avengers’.”
Meanwhile, ‘Suicide Squad’ director David Ayer previously said he wished he had a “time machine” so he could make key changes to the movie.
He wrote on Twitter: “Wish I had a time machine.
“I’d make Joker the main villain and engineer a more grounded story. I have to take the good and bad and learn from it. I love making movies and I love DC [Comics].
“I’m a high school dropout and used to paint houses for a living. I’m lucky to have the job I have. I have to give the characters the stories and plots they deserve. Real talk.”

Zoe Saldana reveals title of fourth Avengers movie?

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Saldana has suggested the fourth ‘Avengers’ movie will be titled ‘Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet’.
The 38-year-old actress plays Gamora in the Marvel movies and Zoe has seemingly let slip the name of the much-anticipated ‘Avengers’ movie, which will follow 2018’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
Speaking during the promotional campaign for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, Zoe told the BBC: “I think that the Guardians just shot their part when it comes to ‘Infinity War’s, like, the first part. And we all have to go back for ‘Gauntlet’ later this year.”
By contrast, Kevin Feige – who is the president of the Marvel Universe – recently insisted he won’t reveal the full title of the fourth ‘Avengers’ movie because it would serve as a spoiler for the upcoming third film.
Asked if revealing the title for ‘Avengers 4’ – which was previously known as ‘Avengers: Infinity War Part 2’ – would be a spoiler, he replied: “Yeah, for sure.”
Kevin also teased the future of the Marvel movies, revealing the franchise will move in a noticeably different direction after the fourth ‘Avengers’ film.
He explained: “We’ve had people under contract for certain films, then we’ve had new ideas and new directions like ‘Captain America: Civil War’ like we wanted to do and we’ve been lucky enough to make new contracts.
“Or ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, the cast has been awesome in their enthusiasm for the direction and the storylines that we’ve been telling.
“Certainly as we get to ‘Infinity War’ there is a sense of climax if not a conclusion to, but the time we’re at untitled ‘Avengers 4’ the 22 movies that have encompassed the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“And what happens after that will be very different. I don’t know if it’s Phase 4, it might be a new thing.”

Marnie Simpson is 'over' Lewis Bloor

OHMYGOSSIP — Marnie Simpson is “over” her relationship with Lewis Bloor.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star was left heartbroken two months ago when she found out her beau – who she struck up a relationship with last summer – had cheated on her while she was away for work but she has admitted she’s “finally recovered” from the ordeal and is ready to put that chapter behind her and, instead, focus on her career.
Writing in her column for Star magazine, she said: “I’ve finally recovered from my break up with Lewis, I’ve seen he’s tweeted but I’m over commenting on it. I feel back to my old self and talking about the past doesn’t help.
“My final comment is that I wish him the best of lick in whatever he does in life. This year is all about working hard, partying hard and trying to stay single.”
Although she’s got over the infidelity, the 25-year-old beauty – who came out as bisexual last year – doesn’t think she’ll date a man next time around because of the hurt.
She said: “If I ever get into another relationship, I’ll probably go with a woman. I don’t think I’d get hurt as much as I have done with men. Girls are much more understanding.”
Meanwhile, Marnie certainly has a lot to focus on over the next coming months as she’s set to release her autobiography ‘Stripped Bare’ in June.
She said: “I’m so excited to be publishing my autobiography, I never dreamt that one day I’d have my own book. In ‘Stripped Bare’ I’ll be telling stories from my childhood, giving all the goss on my TV life and throwing in a few surprises as well. I can’t wait to share this with my fans and to get out on the road to meet them this summer.”

Jayne Torvill confirms Dancing on Ice to return

OHMYGOSSIP — Jayne Torvill has confirmed ‘Dancing on Ice’ is to return.
The popular ice skating show is set to make a sensational return to ITV this year – three years after it left television screens – and the legendary figure skater, who is joined by partner Christopher Dean as a coach on the programme, says the format has been “revamped” and it will “set a new bar” for shows of its kind.
Torvill, 59, excitedly shared: “I love that it’s coming back, it’s great news – I’m really looking forward to it.
“The show will definitely be refreshed but the basics will be the same, we will still be teaching celebrities how to skate.
“It was a different sort of platform being in the studio – we like to be creative and come up with new things. There’s a new bar to set when the show returns.”
The professional Olympian – who famously performed the Bolero routine, which she and Christopher won the gold medal for at the Olympics in 1983, at the end of every series from 2006 until 2014 – is desperate for retired soccer aces Steven Gerrard and David Beckham to compete on the show as her son is a “massive” fan.
She told The Sun newspaper: “My son is a massive Steven Gerrard fan; he wants him to do ‘Dancing on Ice; as he’s retired now.
“He’s also keen on David Beckham taking part but I told him that’s unlikely.”
Torvill and Dean appeared on the show alongside coach Karen Barber to help train the aspiring skaters and offer comments and advice after every live show following the judges’ scores.
At the peak of its popularity, ‘Dancing on Ice’ – which was originally hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby – attracted 13 million viewers.
But its audience dwindled over time and it was scrapped altogether in 2014.
Christine Lampard co-hosted with Schofield from 2012, but it was axed after nine series.

Kieron said: “It’s an honour to be a part of this very exciting documentary, and also the significance of its place in marking the 50th anniversary of such a hugely important milestone in LGBT history. As part of the Channel 4 family, I cannot wait to go on this journey with the dream team that is All4 & Burning Bright.”
