Shayne Ward’s Strictly struggles

OHMYGOSSIP — Shayne Ward is struggling to cope with being in the bottom two of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Although the 40-year-old singer and actor has plenty of experience on reality TV shows, having shot to fame on ‘The X Factor’ 20 years ago, he admitted that he is not used to struggling to stay in the competition.
After he and his partner told The Sun: “I never thought that, 20 years after ‘The X Factor’, I’d be listening to the same ‘heartbeat’ music that they played when I stood on the stage to win the show.
“I’m 40 and it brings back so much nostalgia. It’s weirdly the same feelings I had when I stood on that stage at the age of 21.
“You grow so close to everybody you’re working with, you see them pretty much every day. So you want everybody to do well. But then the realisation kicks in that somebody has to go home.
“The moment you hear that heartbeat, you’re like, ‘Oh, we’re back to a competition again, aren’t we?’
“It’s not nice being in the bottom two. It’s a horrible feeling.
“You never know what the public are going to warm to, but I’m proud of the routine we did on Saturday (26.10.24). It fitted Halloween Week perfectly.
“Being in that bottom two, I was gutted, you know. In that moment, you’re thinking, ‘Is this the end of my adventure on Strictly?’
“We’re just truly grateful to the judges for putting us through.”
Shayne and partner Nancy Xu found themselves in the dance-off in week four and again last weekend and he admitted it has affected his rehearsals.
He said: “It’s hard not to let something like that come into the rehearsal room. But it definitely re-focuses you and reignites that fire to make you go, ‘I really want this, I don’t want this to be over. I want to keep dancing with Nancy’.”

Kerry Katona’s TV blow after split

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona is set to lose out on a huge TV project following her split from fiance Ryan Mahoney.
The 44-year-old reality TV star and 36-year-old personal trainer Ryan recently called off their wedding, which they had been planning to feature in a new fly-on-the-wall series.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Kerry was secretly working on a reality show that was going to follow them in the lead up to their wedding, as well as filming all the action from the big day.
“There wasn’t a channel attached yet but Kerry had done a deal with a big production company and was really excited.
“Sadly, now the marriage is off, there is no TV show.
“It’s a blow for Kerry but right now, she has enough on her plate dealing with her heartbreak and her mum in hospital.
“It’s not a great time for her, but she is a survivor and has battled through a lot worse.”
Kerry revealed the break-up on Instagram, in response to a message from one of her followers.
Underneath a post sharing a health update about her mother, one person wrote: “so much love to you both and and is the Dr single?” and Kerry replied: “No but I am!”
Kerry previously revealed she and Ryan had been arguing a lot lately as she dealt with her mother Sue’s declining health after doctors discovered clots on her lungs.
She wrote in her column with OK! magazine: “This week my mum hasn’t been well, her health is really declining and it is worrying for me. It’s hard to see. Ryan and I have been arguing like cat and dog too so we’ve not had the best time. We’re not in a great place at the moment.
“I do like to be honest when things are like this, though, because no one is perfect and everyone has their issues. I’d much rather be real about it.”

Lorraine Kelly is returning to guest host Have I Got News For You

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Kelly is set to host ‘Have I Got News For You’ again.
The 64-year-old TV star is best known for hosting her long-running eponymous breakfast show on ITV, but she is set guest host the BBC One panel show later this month – almost two decades after she last took on the role in 2005.
The programme usually features two teams, one captioned by Ian Hislop and the other by Paul Merton, alongside a special guest panellist.
Joining Lorraine as captains are stand-up Maisie Adam and BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Matt Chorley.
Lorraine said: “I’m really looking forward to hosting Have I Got News For You again, for the second time.
“The first time I did it was nearly 20 years ago back in 2005, when Paul and Ian were young whippersnappers.
“It’s a chance for me to be unleashed… I can’t wait.”
Lorraine’s episode of ‘Have I Got News For You’ will air on November 22 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Meanwhile, Lorraine recently admitted she’d like to take part in another popular BBC show, ‘Celebrity Race Across the World’.
The presenter “loves” the star-studded programme, and if she was part of the next series, she would ask her daughter Rosie Smith, 30, or her husband Steve Smith, to take part in the race with her.
When asked on her ‘Lorraine’ show who she would choose to do the programme with, she said: “I think I would probably do it with Rosie, she is so organised, or with Steve, my husband. He’s really, super organised.
“I love travelling with him, because he has everything.
“He says, ‘Right, you’ve got half an hour to shop. Back here in half an hour.’
“I don’t have any airport stress.
“It’s a great show though. We love it.”
BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills and his husband Sam Vaughan won the second series of the celebrity programme in September.
The couple beat off competition from broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy Brazier, ‘Ted Lasso’ actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen, and model and broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy Parisi.
Each pairing was given a budget of £1,100 and tasked with travelling 7,800 miles across South America, but they weren’t allowed their mobile phones, or air travel.

Danny Jones signs up for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Jones is to take part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The McFly singer is reportedly set to take the “hunk” role on the show after boxer Tommy Fury pulled out weeks before the programme is due to start, and the ‘Masked Singer’ winner will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of bandmate Dougie Poynter, who was named King of the Jungle back in 2011.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “As well as bringing some of the star appeal of the group with him, he’ll be supplying some serious guy candy for the campmates and viewers at home.
“All the McFly guys are gym fanatics and Danny in particular has a great physique – which he’s bound to show off in the jungle.
“He’ll be keeping up with the proud tradition of ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ hunks who’ve been on the show over the years including Owen Warner and Joel Dommett.
“And he’ll fill the jungle hunk gap left by Tommy Fury after he declined the opportunity earlier this month.”
Danny – who has six-year-old son Cooper with wife Georgia Horsley – will be joined in the jungle by the likes of Coleen Rooney, Tulisa Contostavlos, Oti Mabuse and Rev. Richard Coles.
News of the ‘All About You’ hitmaker’s inclusion on the show comes a week after it was reported Tommy had dropped out of the line-up after being offered a more lucrative project.
A source said: “Bosses are surprised Tommy has chosen to pull out of I’m A Celebrity at this late stage as it would have been a great opportunity for him too. “Thankfully, the execs already had some great names waiting in the wings so they’ll now be looking at which ones fit best into the line up already booked so they can deliver a truly great series.
“With only weeks to go, bosses have lined up one of the most exciting casts in the show’s history.”
The series starts on 16 November.

Game of Thrones movie in development

OHMYGOSSIP — A ‘Game of Thrones’ movie is in the works.
Warner Bros. have reportedly been quietly developing at least one film set in the fantasy universe created by author George R.R. Martin.
However, sources told The Hollywood Reporter the project is in “very early stage” development and currently has no filmmaker, cast or writer attached but the studio are keen to explore the idea of bringing the saga to the big screen.
‘Game of Thrones’ showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss famously wanted to conclude the series – which aired on HBO for eight seasons from 2011 to 2019 – with three feature films instead of its final six-episode run, and George himself was keen on the idea of a movie.
He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2014: “It might need a feature to tie things up. Something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know.”
Since the fantasy drama series concluded, various other spin-offs have been in the works.
Two seasons of prequel saga ‘House of the Dragon’ have already aired, while ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ is scheduled to be released late next year.
However, a direct spin-off featuring Kit Harington reprising his role as Jon Snow has now been axed.
Kit previously told Screen Rant: “I hadn’t really ever spoken about it, because it was in development. I didn’t want it leaked out that it was being developed, and I didn’t want the thing to happen where people kind of start theorising, getting either excited about it or hating the idea of it, when it may never happen. Because in development, you look at every angle, and you see whether it’s worth it.
Currently, it’s off the table, because we all couldn’t find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough. So, we decided to lay down tools with it for the time being.
“There may be a time in the future where we return to it, but at the moment, no. It’s firmly on the shelf.”

Cliffhanger reboot swaps Sylvester Stallone for Lily James

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily James has replaced Sylvester Stallone in the ‘Cliffhanger’ reboot.
The 78-year-old action legend was set to reprise his role as Ranger Gabriel “Gabe” Walker in the remake of the 1993 action thriller.
However, this week it was confirmed that Lily, 35, and former Bond star Pierce Brosnan, 71, will now lead the movie.
The cast also includes Nell Tiger Free, Franz Rogowski, Shubham Saraf, Assaad Bouab, Suzy Bemba and Bruno Gouery.
Jaume Collet-Serra is taking over to direct the flick, meaning Ric Roman Waugh is no longer taking the helm.
Pierce will portray mountaineer Ray Cooper and Lily is his daughter Naomi, who has to “save her family” and “fight for survival in the Italian Dolomites”.
The synopsis reads: “In this reboot of Cliffhanger, seasoned mountaineer Ray Cooper (Pierce Brosnan) and his daughter Sydney run a mountain chalet in the Dolomites.
“During a weekend trip with a billionaire’s son, they are targeted by a gang of kidnappers. Ray’s older daughter Naomi (Lily James), still haunted by a past climbing accident, witnesses the attack and escapes.”
The first pictures from the movie have also been shared, showing Lily scaling a mountain just like Stallone did.
The ‘Darkest Hour’ actress underwent real training to learn how to climb to achieve the epic shots.
Filming is currently underway in Austria, Germany and Italy.
Collet-Serra said in a statement: “Shooting our movie on location in the Dolomites using large format cameras was imperative for us to show the scope and scale of the story we’re telling.
“We’re going to bring the audience a truly thrilling and visceral, premium theatrical experience. Lily in particular has gone above and beyond for the role, putting in real training and learning to climb. Her dedication has allowed us to capture some incredible shots we couldn’t have achieved otherwise, and the whole crew is blown away by her commitment.”
The original movie was nominated for three Oscars for Best Sound, Best Sound Effects Editing and Best Visual Effects, but lost out on them all to ‘Jurassic Park’.
The film was based on a concept by climber John Long and followed Gabe (Stallone), a mountain climber who becomes embroiled in a heist of a U.S. Treasury plane flying through the Rocky Mountains.

The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show returning for series three

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show’ will be returning for a third series.
The BBC chat show is fronted by comedian Chris and his wife Rosie and started airing in 2022 but the broadcaster couldn’t fit filming of a third batch of episodes in until now.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “The BBC love Chris and Rosie, they’re a hilarious duo but most importantly, real, so it was a blow when they couldn’t get a third series underway. The show was shelved until schedules could align and work can now begin ahead of next year!”
The format of the show sees the couple – who tied the knot in 2014 and went on to have Robin, nine, and Rafe, three, together – interview another celebrity duo about their relationship in front of a live audience.
The BBC absolutely love Chris and Rosie, they’re a hilariously entertaining duo but most importantly, real.
“They want to continue producing ‘The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show’ for audiences but due to schedule clashes they can’t make it work right now.
“While the show has been paused for now, behind-the-scenes the BBC are continuing to look at ways the show can continue with Avalon [the show’s production company].”
The ‘S******, Married, Annoyed’ podcasters claimed “there’s no secret” to their successful working and personal relationships aside from having “a laugh”.
Chris previously told Anita Rani on BBC Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4: “There’s no secret to our marriage.”
Rosie added: “We have a laugh and it makes life a little bit more enjoyable, doesn’t it?”
Chris continued: “In day-to-day life, from parenting to the podcast to the TV show, as long as we’ve made each other laugh, I feel like it’s been a success.”
While Rosie pointed out: “And you don’t always have to laugh at each other. Watch something funny. Laugh together. Or laugh at the other one’s misfortune.”

Alison Steadman reveals why filming Gavin and Stacey Christmas special was ‘a nightmare’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Steadman says filming the ‘Gavin and Stacey’ Christmas special was “a nightmare”.
The 78-year-old award-winning actress stars as matriarch Pam Shipman on the BBC Three sitcom and explained that filming the upcoming Christmas special on Barry Island, Wales was tricky because of paparazzi who descended on the area.
Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival to promote her new memoir ‘Out of Character’, she said: “The main thing is when we were filming, truly the paps were everywhere taking pictures, it was a nightmare.
“And there was people at the end of the street, here, there and everywhere, and the main thing that Ruth and James were saying to everyone is: ‘We don’t want to spoil it for you, we want Christmas Day to be a surprise, and once you know a bit of the story, it’s going to spoil it.’
“And that is what I want too.”
The series follows the lives of the Shipmans and the Wests, who become intertwined when Gavin (Mathew Horne) and Stacey (Joanna Page) begin a long-distance relationship from Essex and South Wales respectively.

Davina McCall has ‘no regrets’ over her the flops in her TV career

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall has “no regrets” about anything in her career.
The 57-year-old presenter has been active on television since the late 1990s and became a household name when she fronted the original ‘Big Brother’ series but noted that she has learned “something really valuable” from every job that has not been a success.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “Everything that has gone wrong, or every mistake I’ve made in my life and every turkey that I’ve presented… they have all taught me something really valuable.
“There aren’t any mistakes because they got me to where I am now – and I’m very happy.
“Never look at a mistake as a mistake; if you learn something from it, it was helpful.
“So I don’t have any regrets. They are such a waste of time.”
Following ‘Big Brother’, Davina went on to front ‘The Million Pound Drop’ for Channel 4 as well as ‘Long Lost Family’ for ITV and these days fronts ‘My Mum Your Dad’ but revealed that she had considered retiring on her last milestone birthday before deciding that she is “happy” enough to carry on.

‘I don’t need to see spice worms’: Quentin Tarantino won’t watch Denis Villeneuve’s Dune films

OHMYGOSSIP — Quentin Tarantino has no intention of watching Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ movies.
The legendary filmmaker revealed that he has not watched either of Villenueve’s sci-fi epics despite their critical acclaim as he has already seen David Lynch’s original 1984 movie.
Tarantino told ‘The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast’: “I saw (David Lynch’s) ‘Dune’ a couple of times. I don’t need to see that story again.
“I don’t need to see spice worms. I don’t need to see a movie that says the word ‘spice’ so dramatically.”
The ‘Pulp Fiction’ director insists that he has nothing against Villeneuve’s work but he thinks that ‘Dune’ typifies the industry’s current obsession with remakes.
Tarantino, 61, said: “It’s one after another of this remake and that remake.
“People ask have you seen ‘Dune’? Have you seen ‘Ripley’? Have you seen ‘Shogun’? And I’m like no, no, no, no.
“There’s six or seven Ripley books. If you do one again, why are you doing the same one that they’ve done twice already? I’ve seen that story twice before, and I didn’t really like it in either version, so I’m not really interested in seeing it a third time.
“If you did another story, that would be interesting enough to give it a shot anyway.”
The filmmaker added: “I saw ‘Shogun’ in the 80s. I watched all 13 hours. I’m good. I don’t need to see that story again, I don’t care how they do it.
“I don’t care if they take me and put me in ancient Japan in a time machine. I don’t care, I’ve seen the story.”
Despite his disdain for remakes, Tarantino did reveal that he was “tremendously” impressed by ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ – even though critics savaged the musical comic book sequel that stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.
The ‘Kill Bill’ helmer said: “I really got caught up into it. I really liked the musical sequences. I got really caught up. I thought the more banal the songs were, the better they were. I find myself listening to the lyrics of ‘For Once in My Life’ in a way I never have before.”

Russell Crowe to do battle against Romans once more in The Last Druid

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell Crowe will battle the Roman Empire once again in ‘The Last Druid’.
The 60-year-old actor is to lead the cast of the new movie that tells the story of a Roman Emperor who finds a secluded Druid stronghold in the mountains of Caledonia.
Crowe is set to play a peaceful Celtic elder who is forced to take up arms in order to protect his family and people from annihilation.
The role comes almost 25 years after Russell’s Oscar-winning performance as Maximus Decimus Meridius in Sir Ridley Scott’s historical epic ‘Gladiator’.
Additional casting is underway on the project that is being directed by Will Eubank from a script he has written with Phil Gawthorne and his brother Carlyle Eubank.
ACG is launching sales on the film at the American Film Market which is taking place in Las Vegas next week.
Russell will not be returning for ‘Gladiator II’ after Maximus’ death at the end of the 2000 original movie and he previously confessed that he was “slightly uncomfortable” with a follow-up being made with Paul Mescal in the lead role.
Speaking on the Kyle Meredith With… podcast, he said: “I’m slightly uncomfortable with the fact they’re making another one – because, of course, I’m dead and I have no say in what gets done.
“But a couple of things I’ve heard I’m like, ‘No, no, no, that’s not in the moral journey of that particular character.’ But I can’t say anything, it’s not my place, I’m six foot under. So we’ll see what that is like.”
Crowe explained that the sequel brings on feelings of “melancholy” and “jealousy” because the first film had such an important influence on his movie career.
The ‘A Beautiful Mind’ star said: “I reflect back: the age I was when I made that film and all the things that came after it, the doors that particular movie opened for me. This is just me being purely honest: there’s definitely a tinge of melancholy, a tinge of jealousy. I remember when I had tendons.”

Miranda Hart explains why she ‘didn’t enjoy’ making her hit sitcom and reveals ‘sadness’ of the time

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Hart “didn’t really enjoy” making her hit sitcom.
The 51-year-old comedienne found huge success when she wrote and starred in her eponymous series for the BBC in the late 2000s but she had become so swamped by chronic illness that came about as a result of the Lyme’s disease she contracted as a teenager that she “didn’t have the energy” to find joy in that time.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, she said: “By then, sadly, I’d got used to feeling rough and thinking that I just had to keep going. I was used to being really strong and brave and keep it going.
“But the sadness for me was that I didn’t really enjoy it. I used to go to rehearsals and look at a glass of water and think ‘I just don’t have the energy’.
“I was sad that I didn’t really enjoy it. But I managed it.
“When you’re just used to keep on keeping on whether that’s with chronic illness or relationships or whatever, you get into that, I suppose quite English way, of [not saying anything]. You get stuck.”
The former ‘Call the Midwife’ star – who recently announced that she had married surveyor Richard Fairs, 60, in July 2023 – took a almost a decade out of the spotlight to deal with her health issues and has now put pen to paper in the form of her new memoir ‘I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest with You’ where she reflects on how she has learned to live with her chronic illness.
She said: The story is a decade of not, all fun, there was my difficult time in a book and so I had a little weep. I started resrarhicing for myself when I couldn’t get a diagnosis, I collapsed on the floor with fatigue and wasn’t getting any answers. I had to research and find out what was actually true.
“I found the answers on how to live with chronic illness. Once I researched that for myself, I felt that I couldn’t not share this.
“I met my now-husband and thought, ‘Oh I’ve got to put a bit of the love story in it as well’!”

Trinny Woodall reveals why her sixties will be her ‘best decades yet’ after years of tragedy

OHMYGOSSIP — Trinny Woodall is looking forward to her sixties.
The fashion guru celebrated her milestone birthday earlier this year and has finally learned to find a “balance” in life after enduring a tumultuous time in her twenties, making a TV career for herself in her thirties and dealing with personal tragedies in the decades that followed.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she told stand-in host Ranvir Singh: “I was 60 in February. By far, it is my best decade. If I had to break down my decades, twenties were s*****. And it was about not knowing who I was, lots of people on their twenties, it can be complicated. My thirties were about catching up and getting a career.
“Forties was being a mum. I was a mum later, and I never thought I’d be a mum. Fifties was dealing with things that happened. My daughter’s father died, and I had to learn how to be a single mum. And having to create the balance of life. ”
Trinny – who was married to Johnny Ellichoff from 1999 until 2009 and has 20-year-old daughter Lyla with her but he took his own life in 2014 – is best known for fronting ‘What Not To Wear’ in the early 2000s with Susannah Constantine, and reflected that the success of the show was because it was about dressing for the everyday individual rather than focusing on fashion as a whole.
She said: “We had, for the ladies who can remember on the show, we had Jeff Banks on The Clothes Show. And there was nothing. We had a column in The Telegraph, and they said ‘Could we make it a show?’. It had that element of what you should wear and what you should not wear. It was based on this column of what is good for a body shape, and it was always that basis.
“There had been before a little bit of fluff fashion and this was about dressing, not fashion. It was ‘How do you dress for you are?’ and not for someone off the catwalk.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Call the Midwife’ will air as a two-part Christmas special in 2024.
The BBC period medical drama – which follows the lives of antenatal staff in the 1950s and 1960s – traditionally airs a 90-minute special over the festive period but will now broadcast two hour-long episodes instead.
Heidi Thomas OBE, the show’s creator and writer, said: “Who doesn’t love finding an extra, unexpected present underneath the Christmas tree?
“When I was asked to write a two-part Christmas special for 2024, I couldn’t resist!”

A source told the Daily Star’s HotTV column: “Miriam loved being part of the show because she absolutely adores it.
“But she is too busy to play Mother Mildred now so there are no plans for her to go back.”
