THESE foods can help maintain the whiteness of teeth by removing plaque and surface stains

OHMYGOSSIP – Maintaining white and healthy teeth is an important aspect of oral hygiene and overall health. A diet rich in certain foods can help to keep teeth looking their best and prevent discoloration.

Certain foods can help maintain the whiteness of teeth by removing plaque and surface stains. These include crunchy fruits and vegetables like apples, celery, and carrots, as well as dairy products like cheese and yogurt. These foods can also help increase the production of saliva, which can neutralize acid and reduce the risk of tooth decay.

Fruits and vegetables, such as apples, celery, and carrots, are known to be beneficial for oral health. These foods contain high levels of fiber, which helps to scrub the surface of the teeth and remove plaque buildup. Additionally, the crunchy texture of these foods can help to increase saliva production, which can neutralize the acids produced by bacteria and help to prevent tooth decay.

One study published in the Journal of Dentistry found that eating an apple can have the same teeth-cleaning effect as brushing your teeth with a toothbrush. Another study published in the Journal of Periodontology found that consuming a diet high in fruits and vegetables is associated with a lower risk of periodontal disease, which is a leading cause of tooth loss.

Dairy products, such as cheese and yogurt, are also known to be beneficial for oral health. Cheese is rich in calcium and phosphate, which help to strengthen tooth enamel and make teeth more resistant to acid erosion. Additionally, the protein casein found in cheese can help to protect tooth enamel by forming a protective film on the surface of the teeth.

Yogurt contains probiotics, which are beneficial bacteria that can help to maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in the mouth. These bacteria can help to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria that can cause tooth decay and gum disease.

A study published in the Journal of Dairy Science found that consuming cheese can raise the pH levels in the mouth, which can help to neutralize the acids produced by bacteria and prevent tooth decay. Another study published in the Journal of Oral Microbiology found that consuming yogurt can help to reduce the levels of harmful bacteria in the mouth and improve overall oral health.

In conclusion, consuming a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and dairy products such as cheese and yogurt can help to keep teeth whiter, stronger and healthier. They are high in fiber, calcium, casein and probiotics, which can all contribute to oral health and hygiene. It is important to include them in your diet as part of a well-balanced diet. However, it is important to note that eating these foods alone will not necessarily make teeth “whiter”, regular dental cleanings and good oral hygiene are also necessary.

THE ONLY VEGETABLE with therapeutic properties increasing after boiling!

OHMYGOSSIP – Eating it fresh, the human organism will assimilate only 3% of the minerals and vitamins of this vegetable. Yet when you chop it and boil long enough then up to 39% of the minerals and vitamins can be assimilated. What is this vegetable?

This vegetable is carrot. More precisely, the boiled carrot.

BOILED CARROT: THE SOURCE OF BETA-CAROTENE

Carrot is a very good source of beta-carotene, hence also the characteristic bright orange colour. The rule of thumb says that the brighter orange is a fruit or a vegetable, the more beta-carotene there is in it. Beta-carotene is a very strong antioxidant, which slows down aging and protects against several illnesses, including heart disease and cancer.

WHY IS BETA-CAROTENE BENEFICIAL?

When the menu has sufficient amounts of beta-carotene, then
the risk on stroke decreases as much as 40%
it advances and supports vision
it advances liver function
it lowers the risk of cancer
it protects the heart
it advances the immune system

Besides, carrots have vitamins K, E, B1, B2, C, as well as phosphorus and folic acid.

EATING TOO MANY CARROTS

Beta-carotene may be very useful, but overconsumption of carrots can lead to some unpleasant results. Overconsumption of carrots will cause carotenosis due to which the skin will turn orange.

Fortunately this is a non-dangerous affair and will be alleviated spontaneously, there is no need for extra attention or cure, it is more of a cosmetic problem. Thus when you start eating carrots, you should know that the orange skin tone is not detrimental to your health and you could just eat a bit less carrots.

WHAT to do when you have got sunburn?

OHMYGOSSIP – Hopefully everybody knows how important it is to protect yourself from the sun with various products and clothes. Sometimes it is difficult to escape a sunburn, that’s why dermatologist Heather Rogers gives the best advice on  what to do afterwards.
1. Alleviate the pain
In order to control the pain caused by sunburn, Rogers recommends taking a painkiller, then take a cool bath and place a wet patch on it many times a day. Remember to be careful that you don’t cool down too much or don’t get too hot. Once you have sunburn, the organism cannot control the temperature so well anymore.
2. Use a moisturizing cream
Put on a very nourishing cream. Timing plays a great role here – apply the cream when the skin is moist, then the skin will lock more moist and heal sooner. Apply cream as often as possible.
3. Hydrate yourself internally
Creams that are applied on the skin are certainly good, but it is as important to drink lots of water. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily to replace the dehydrated volume. Try to avoid drinks that advance dehydration – alcohol and coffee.
4. Don’t injure the skin
When you have got serious sunburn and there are blisters, do not touch them. Blisters are a natural patch that helps heal. Sunburn that has turned into blisters increases the risk of skin cancer and when such sunburn occurs often then you would need to go and have your skin checked.
5. Hide from direct sunlight

This may seem understandable but it is difficult to accomplish during a vacation. Skin that has sunburn is an even more sensitive target for the UV-rays, thus make sure that you always have a hat with you and clothes that protect you from the sunlight.

12 UNIVERSAL Beauty secrets every woman needs to know

OHMYGOSSIP – Everyone wants flawless makeup and perfect skin. While beauty YouTubers and Instagrammers are constantly promoting different products that worked miracles for them, sometimes (actually a lot of the times) you find yourself hating the product and wondering, but why? But how? The math is simple, different skin care products work for different people because everyone has different skin types. You already knew this.

So instead, what you need is to go back to the basics. Here are 12 universal beauty secrets that every girl needs to know. From how to keep and store your makeup and skin care under the best conditions so they last a lifetime to all the things you should do and avoid to achieve beautiful, flawless skin. Here are the secrets revealed.

1. Don’t store your makeup in the bathroom
According to dermatologists, the warm and humid conditions of your bathroom during and after showers or baths can make your makeup expire more quickly. It’s better to store your daily makeup in your bedroom instead.

2. Store your less frequently used creams and serums in the fridge.
It’s best to store any creams, eye creams or serums in the fridge as it will allow for a longer shelf life. It’s also especially good for eye creams as the cooling sensation reduces puffiness under the eyes. But please don’t put oils, pressed powder, lipsticks or eyeliners in the fridge.

3. Always use sunscreen.
Remember when your mom used to slap on the sunscreen to your face and body, well… mother knows best because sunscreen is vital to your skin care. Kim Kardashian’s LA-based dermatologist, Dr. Harold Lancer, recommends that sunscreen of SPF 30+ be worn daily to prevent the skin from UV damage, aging and unwanted dark spots.

4. Don’t wear makeup to the gym. Just don’t.
I know it’s hard to resist putting on a bit of makeup for your cute workout selfie, but you probably already knew this one. Working out in your makeup is truthfully speaking, a crime against your skin… the worst culprit: foundation. Sweat mixed in with makeup creates perfect conditions for acne to appear. So just don’t.

If you absolutely cannot resist, then go for a super light BB Cream or a water-proof, silicone-based mascara at most. Make sure that you cleanse your face thoroughly immediately after if you decide to break a sweat with makeup on your face. Or just use the cute puppy filter.

5. Regularly clean the things that touch your face.
Your phone is probably one of the dirtiest things you own and you definitely carelessly throw it on your bed and slap it against your face all the time. Make sure you regularly cleaning the things that constantly touch your face, like your phone and your pillowcase. Dr. Harold Lancer recommends washing or changing your pillowcase once a week and cleaning your phone with cleansing wipes.

6. Avoid touching your face as much as possible.
Your fingers have been everywhere and you know it. Try to avoid touching your face as much as you can with unwashed hands as you can easily transfer bacteria to the skin and cause breakouts.

7. Never ever sleep in your makeup.
This one is also pretty obvious, but even on the nights when you’re drunk AF and literally can’t, even on the nights when you’re tired AF and literally can’t, even on the nights when you’ve had amazing sex and just want to cuddle bae until you fall asleep… don’t. Make sure you wash your entire face thoroughly before hitting the hay. Sleeping in your makeup will clog your pores and cause breakouts.

If you still literally can’t, keep some makeup wipes by your bed and at least take your foundation off.

Taking salt baths increases blood volume that can significantly alleviate chronic fatigue syndrome. Infections and toxins can cause dehydration of the organism. Sea salt helps the body take in more water and this is beneficial for the lymphatic system, besides it is part of the osmotic processes and efficiently cleans the cells that way.

8. Take regular salt baths
Crystal salt contains nearly a hundred valuable natural minerals that strengthen the organism, it regulates the function of sebaceous glands, boosts circulatory function and has an antibacterial effect.

We suggest:
E&S Lavender + Himalayan Pink Halite Bath Salt
Elisheva & Shoshana handmade Lavender and Himalayan Pink Halite Bath Salt is a natural bathing accessory with a broad spectrum effect, skin-nourishing, calming and comfort-boosting. It contains many antioxidants that give an extra shield for the organism and help attain and maintain healthy body mass.

Eucalyptus boosts the respiratory function and helps relax the muscles after training, it alleviates pain and reduces inflammation. Sea minerals include 90 different minerals and microelements that help clean the organism from toxins, regulate the function of sebaceous glands and keep the skin young and fresh.

9. Don’t exfoliate if you have acne.
According to Beverly Hills dermatologist Dr. Christie Kidd, you should never exfoliate your skin if you have active acne. Using face scrubs will only lead to more irritation and worse inflammation. But DO exfoliate regularly if your skin is acne free.

10. Don’t overuse pore strips.
While pore strips are super fun to use because you get to see all the little white heads stick to the strips, using them too much can actually result in enlarged pores. Instead, it’s better to lightly steam your face in the shower, sauna, or over a facial steamer to naturally open up the pores, use a cleanser to clear out the pores, and then apply a cooling toner to close them up.

11. Good makeup means nothing without good skin.
We’re obsessed with high coverage foundations and concealers that will give the best, flawless finish, but really the most important thing is finding a skincare routine that works for you and also allowing your skin to breathe once in a while. Try skipping foundation and just using concealer some days, or using a tinted moisturizer instead. At the end of the day, the better your skin looks, the better your makeup will look.

12. Use Magnesium products
Magnesium chloride (MgCl2) can help alleviate the following complaints: depression, anxiety, fatigue, headache, asthma, muscular tensions, painful joints, sleeping problems, spasms, intestinal complaints, accumulation of toxins (detox effect), excess weight, magnesium deficit. Magnesium chloride is an important factor in the elimination of toxic elements and heavy metals and helps recover the minerals balance in the organism, it regulates the cholesterol level and normalizes the values of blood pressure. We suggest to use E&S products. The product Elisheva & Shoshana “Magnesium Chloride Bath Flakes Natural STRONG 47%” is a natural bathing supplement with a broad spectrum of muscle relaxation, spasm alleviating and nervous system calming effect. E&S magnesium chloride flakes are dermally promptly absorbed, it takes 5-15 seconds to enter the cells. About 95% of the applied magnesium enters the cells, the absorption through the skin is therefore preferred to oral intake in the form of capsules, powder or pill, also transdermal application of magnesium entails no gastric or intestinal burden.

How to impress: 9 IMPORTANT Style tips for Women in Business

OHMYGOSSIP – Today, we are diving into an issue that is critical for women in business. The “what to wear to work” dilemma is one many of us business women face. How we handle this will impact how others view us.

Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

Let that sink in. You’ve heard the phrase “put your best foot forward”. Well, let’s talk about how we can put our best physical self forward in a business setting.

The onus is on us to present ourselves as professional, respectable, and powerful. Whether we like it or not, appearances do matter. They are the first impression people get of us, so let’s craft our appearance to give off the right impression.

Clearly, qualities like work ethic, competency, and professionalism matter immensely. But also people do, in fact, take cues about who we are and our aspirations in the work place from how we present ourselves. Think of how you dress as an aspect of personal branding.

Here are 9 style tips how to dress for success by Carrie Colbert:

1. Do be authentic to yourself.
I am not a believer that you must dress to conform in an office space. I am a believer that you should dress in a relatively modest, office-appropriate manner. But within those guidelines, you do you! If you prefer color, then wear color. If you prefer heels, then wear heels. If you like to wear a bold lipstick, then just keep the rest of your makeup fairly natural. Just balance statement pieces with more conservative, neutral pieces. Everything in moderation. As Polonius so famously declared, “This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” Being true to yourself is an admirable leadership quality. So practice it in all ways, including how you dress.

2. Do invest in quality, staple pieces.
As a business woman, you likely are smart with how you spend your money. There are certainly ways to penny pinch, but your business wardrobe is not one of them. Though the cost may seem like a lot up front, in reality you’ll get a lot of b ang for your buck. If the item is high-quality, you’ll be able to wear it many times over many years, making the cost per wear low.

Think quality over quantity. When shopping, pay attention to the materials and craftsmanship of the garments you purchase. Then once you buy quality items, take proper care of them. Have them tailored, have them professionally cleaned regularly as needed, hang them on velvet hangers (just say no to wire hangers!), take your shoes to a cobbler when they need to be polished or resoled. Basic care will go a long way in extending the life of your clothes and shoes!

Action item: If you don’t already have a trusted tailor, find one! Fit is everything! You want your clothes to fit not too tight, not too loose, not too long, not too short, but just right. And a good tailor will help you achieve that.

3. Don’t wear open-toed shoes.
Speaking of shoes… I don’t know what it is, but something about open-toed shoes is very off-putting in the office place. Save that for the beach, for the weekend, for the night out, or really anywhere else but the office. I’m less concerned with if you wear heels or flats, pointy-toe shoes or rounded-toe shoes, but I do think you should stick to closed-toe shoes. Now, if you do insist on wearing open-toed shoes, make sure your feet are well-groomed.

4. Don’t show too much skin.
I suggest being cognizant of this in two particular ways.

(1) Pay attention to your skirt or dress length.

The right length is critical! Dresses and skirts should at least graze the top of your knee. Keep in mind that when you sit in a chair, your dress or skirt will automatically rise up some, making it seem shorter. Be aware of any slits your clothing might have as well. Never choose pieces with super high slits.

(2) Don’t show cleavage. It’s just not appropriate. Along those lines, make sure tops are not at all see-through. And make certain that undergarments are not visible.

Some might add a third rule about not showing too much skin, and that’s the arms. Some stringent office guidelines often prohibit sleeveless tops or require a sweater or jacket over such. I’m not as much a stickler on this one, but then again it’s often a practically good idea to wear a sweater or jacket, as offices tend to be cold.

Always be sure to consult your employee handbook for specific dress code rules for your office.

5. Don’t overdo your makeup.
Like most of these tips (and most things in life!), moderation is key. If you like a bold lip, feel free to go for it. But keep everything else very natural. Avoid overly dramatizing yourself with things like false eyelashes, smoky eyeshadow, or an abundance of bronzer. Use your makeup to enhance your natural look.

On the subject of make-up, always keep a mirror at your desk to double check yourself before you go into meetings. Make sure you don’t have lipstick on your teeth, any make-up smudges, or food in your teeth. Likewise, try to keep a toothbrush and toothpaste handy just in case.

6. Don’t over accessorize.
Less is more. And again, moderation is key. Accessories can make or break an outfit. They tend to be a focal point, so make it a good one. Choose a high quality handbag or briefcase. Instead of piling on the jewelry, choose something classic like a nice set of pearl earrings or a simple necklace.

When in doubt, follow the KISS principle –keep it simple, smarty!

7. Do think about color.
Certainly around here, we believe in the power of color, as you know! So, while we are all for wearing color in the office, consider the psychology of color when choosing what color to wear. For instance, red is a powerful color, but can also be seen as aggressive. So, consider what’s on your agenda as you dress for the day.

Again, always remember that your style is simply another way to convey your overall message at work. Be intentional with how and what you convey.

8. Don’t be too trendy.
Unless you work in fashion, the office place is likely not the place to experiment with the latest runway trends. You want to exude an air of classiness, elegance, and power. If you are overly trendy, your look can steal the show. You want your appearance to amplify your message of professionalism, not drown it out. There is nothing wrong with incorporating a trend in a small way. Just don’t let it steal your spotlight!

9. Do familiarize yourself with the environment.
Different offices demand different levels of attire. Does your office require full professional attire? Or is business casual appropriate? Be cognizant of what your office environment permits. But I urge you to still dress at the top end of that range. For instance, your office may permit jeans on Friday. But should you wear jeans? Perhaps no. Watch the executives in your office. What do they do? Again, dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

Bottom line: Dress like you care! Your appearance is a reflection of your professionalism. So, let’s be intentional in the choices we make.

Well, do you agree or disagree with me on this subject? I certainly have rather strong opinions on this, but it comes from years of seeing women unfortunately undermine themselves professionally by presenting themselves in a less than professional manner, stylishly speaking. So, as I mentioned, think of your outward aesthetic as an extension of your personal brand. Make the mark you want to leave when you come into contact with someone.

Parlor games for grown-ups! TOP 6

OHMYGOSSIP – There are two types of people: the ones who like to make childish jokes and also play games with grown-ups and another kind of people who think that playing is for kids and a party should be celebrated in a grown-up style.

For those, who like to undertake something exciting:
1. Word explaining in pairs
– Write several words on the pieces of paper, the ones that can be explained without using words (for example, massage, giving birth, waltz, accidents, domestic incident, etc.). Put the word labels into the jar.
– Each pair has to think of a name to their team.
– When a team has chosen a word that they have to pantomime, they will have about 30 seconds in the next room to prepare it. If they cannot agree on the pantomime, they have to improvise.
– The team that guesses the correct answer, will score a point. (An easy way to count the points: put a sheet of paper with the names of the teams on the wall and write the scores there!)

2. A birthday present (crowd favourite)
– Prepare a small gift. I wrapped up a lollipop. Then I taped five “layers” of paper around it giving various assignments. (I slightly taped a piece of paper with the task on the package and wrapped it up again; a new task followed and one more layer of paper around all of it and so on.)
– Music is playing, and the people in the circle have to pass on the present. Like playing a hot potato. When the music stops, the one who has the parcel has to remove one layer from it and has to complete the task.
– I gave quite challenging tasks, and people were absolutely ecstatic. When the last person opened the present and found the lollipop, the people were disappointed that the game was already over.
(The assignments I thought of were connected with the birthday girl/boy: preparing a birthday cake for a birthday girl/boy, dance the booty shake and so forth.)

3. Forgotten balloons
– Each person gets a piece of paper, a pencil, a balloon and a ribbon.
– Everyone has to write an activity (task) on the piece of paper and put it into the balloon. Then you should blow up the balloon and tie it up.
– Hereupon all the balloons should be taken out of sight, to the other room.
– When the people have forgotten the balloons, it is the right time for every person to pick a balloon from the other room.
– And then you break the balloons and start completing the tasks.
(My company was so curious that they could not forget the balloons and were constantly asking about when we are going to do something with these balloons, but the time flew and I forgot the other part of this game. So, before going to the club with the celebrants, everyone grabbed a random balloon. A part of the company carried out the tasks on the way and some even in the club.)

4. A publicity stunt
– You need a product (I used three similar articles of clothing.) for which every team has to do some diverse and silly publicity.
– Company should be divided into three and given 10 minutes to prepare.
– Bear in mind the question: “What can you do with the product, and what else can be done with it?”
– You can also use some other props.
– Every team member has to have one´s own role.
– The game is particularly interesting when all the teams unknowingly “advertise” the same thing.
– This game needs improvisation and courage. But if successful, you can all have a great laugh about the game. People’s fantasy is limitless…
(This was the last game we played because then people already had more courage.)

5. Truth or dare
– Prepare several questions and tasks and put them into two jars: “Truth” and “Dare”
– The jars go around, and every person has to choose from which jar he/she would like to take the slip. Thereafter, one should answer the question or carry out the task.
(When you have more time, all the people could participate in thinking of and putting down the questions and assignments.)

6. A birthday bingo
– All the participants will get a pen and a prepared grid (5×5).
– Everybody will take turns saying one word connected with birthdays and then everyone has to write the word into one’s grid (wherever he/she would like to). At the same time, bingo-master has to write all these words down on the pieces of paper and next he/she will put them, for instance, into a basket.
– When the grid is filled, the bingo-master will start drawing/shouting out the words from the basket. The person who gets five squares in a row will win!

Should an ATOMIC BOMB explode in the vicinity: How to escape? Where to shelter?

OHMYGOSSIP – OHMYGOSSIP has compiled a synopsis for our readers – with the help of scientists and experts – about advisable action in the event of explosion of a nuclear bomb in the region. When you notice a sudden intense flash of light that can possibly blind your eyes, it is likely that an atomic bomb just exploded, this is in case its epicenter was within the range of 50 miles (80,5 km). Once you can look around again and unless you are feeling excessively calm, you may conclude that you are still alive.

Additional signs of explosion would be first to third degree burns, this is in case its epicenter was within the range of 16 kilometers. The trademark of the nuclear bomb is, as you may know, the mushroom-shaped cloud in the sky.

As soon as you have figured out what is going on, you should search for shelter to hide from radioactive dust. Try to find an edifice with thick walls, the thicker the walls the better.
For example: most suitable are buildings with thick concrete or brick walls and no windows, or underground shelters such as basements and cellars.

Hiding in that kind of places it is likely that the amount of received radiation is 0,5% or 1/200 from the radiation outside. The best option would be a bomb shelter, however that would not always be at hand.

Wooden constructions such as rack houses in modern residential areas do not guarantee significant protection from radiation. If you know a nearby building that would do and it will take you less than five minutes to make it there, it is worth the risk. Should it take already 15 minutes outside to reach the destination, then remain where you are for the next hour and then move to a better spot. This precaution is because the fall of radioactive dust will remarkably diminish by that time.

Once you are in a building with thick walls, make sure to keep away from doors and windows. If possible, take a shower or simply wipe the exposed skin with a wet towel, also uickly take off the contaminated clothes. Put the clothes in a plastic bag, close the bag and take it as far from where you yourself are as possible. While in a shower, use shampoo and soap, but do not rub or scratch the skin. Also, do not use conditioner, since it will glue the radioactive particles to your hair. When finished with the shower, also blow your nose and brush the eyebrows, eyelashes and ears, to remove as much of the remaining radioactive grime as possible.

Note that you should drink only bottled water and eat food from undisclosed containers, until the rescue team reaches you. As you wait there, you can listen to the radio in  order to learn about the relevant events and perspective of finding help.
