Queen Elizabeth’s Windsor Castle is ready for Christmas

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth’s Windsor Castle has already been kitted out with festive decorations.
The 91-year-old monarch will no doubt be blown away when she returns to the royal residence in Berkshire, south east England, over the next coming weeks as her staff have already turned the plush building into a grotto after kitting it out with 20ft Christmas tree.
According to the Express.co.uk, the enormous Nordmann Fir, which was sourced from nearby Great Windsor Park, has been erected in St George’s Hall at the estate.
According to the photographs, obtained by the website, the monarch has gone with a gold and red theme this year as the tree has been decorated in crown-shaped baubles and a generous dashing on tinsel, as well as twinkling white fairy lights and huge velvet bows.
But that’s not the only tree the royal family have put up, as they’ve got a second – this one being 15ft – erected in the Crimson Drawing Room with just red decorations.
The castle’s State Dining Table has been decorated with silver pieces from the Monarch’s Grand Service, while beautiful festive gold creations have been scattered across the cloth.
It’s believed the monarch will spend Christmas Day surrounded by her family – including her eldest son Prince Charles and possibly her great-grandchildren Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two – at Sandringham Palace in Norfolk, England.
The monarch will also deliver her annual Christmas speech to the nation in the afternoon.

Prince Harry’s engagement announcement is ‘imminent’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement announcement is “imminent.”
The 33-year-old prince has been dating the American actress for 16 months and, although they’ve remained coy on whether or not they’re set to walk down the aisle, it’s believed they’re planning to share the news around the festive period.
A spokesman for Ladbrokes – the British-based betting and gambling company – told MailOnline: “Royal watchers would love a Christmas engagement announcement, and as far as we’re concerned it’s coming imminently. Meghan has met her prince charming and it looks like this fairytale is going to end happy ever after.”
Things have got increasingly more serious between the pair in recent months, with Meghan, 36, reportedly set to quit working on her legal drama ‘Suits’ in favour of a life in the UK with Harry, where she has also reportedly relocated her pet dogs.
Speaking about her pooches, a source said: “She is very close to those two dogs. She lets them sleep on her bed and they eat only the highest quality organic food.
“She misses them when she is away and will even get someone to FaceTime her with them. The fact she’s started the process of moving them to England is the clearest hint yet that she sees her future living in London with Harry.”
And if rehoming her mutts wasn’t sign enough that the pair are nearing an engagement, last month saw Meghan invited to Buckingham Palace for tea with Queen Elizabeth, who is Prince Harry’s grandmother.
One source said of the meeting: “The couple arrived in time for tea at around 5pm. It is the queen’s favourite part of the day and she loves it when her grandchildren are able to join her. She normally sits for half an hour eating from a selection of sandwiches, fruit or plain scones and cake. It is served with her own blend of Darjeeling and Assam tea, known as Queen Mary’s blend.”

Prince Harry was sworn at during polo match

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry was reportedly told to “f**k off” during a heated on-field exchange with a polo player.
The 33-year-old royal received a telling off from Beau Skerrett, a professional polo player, during a match he was officiating in 2014.
Of the game – which was between Prince William and Prince Harry and the princes of Malaysia – Beau Skerrett told The Courier-Mail newspaper: “William is amazing; he’s the perfect bloke – and Harry’s Harry.
“Harry loses his cool (on the field). He is a spoiled brat. It got to the point where I couldn’t send anyone off but something had to be said because he was just getting a bit serious.
“He didn’t take it too well. I think I’m the only guy who ever told him to f**k off in front of a crowd that pay 5,000 pound to shake his hand.
“It was very funny and William actually apologised for him.”
Despite this, Skerrett insisted there were no hard feelings between himself and the British royal.
He said, too, that younger royal had the edge over his brother on the polo field.
Skerrett explained: “I did get the memo that they had to win, because they were playing the princes from Malaysia, so (it was) semi-rigged but they won pretty comfortably.”
In recent months, meanwhile, it has been widely speculated that the Prince will soon propose to his girlfriend, ‘Suits’ actress Meghan Markle.
And a royal commentator has claimed that the Prince’s mother, the late Princess Diana, would approve of her son’s romance with Meghan.
Richard Fitzwilliams said: “Harry’s forthcoming marriage will open a new and exciting chapter in the history of the House of Windsor.
“It is already the world’s most high profile royal family and Meghan’s links with show business and activism should mean that the charitable activities of the younger royals enjoy a global profile that is even wider.
“Meghan is placed to help fulfil the fondest wish of both princes, that Diana would be proud of what they achieve to help others.”

Prince William wants to keep gift away from Prince George

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has vowed to keep a new gift out of the reach of his son.
The 35-year-old royal and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, made a trip to a whistle factory in Birmingham on Wednesday (22.11.17) and they were both given brass whistles to take home as a memory of their trip.
After receiving his gift, the Prince told the Duchess, according to PEOPLE: “Don’t show that to George – we’ll never get any peace!”
The gift was handed to the Prince – who has Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two, with his wife – and the Duchess at the end of a busy day of official engagements in the English city.
Their visit to Birmingham came shortly after Prince William revealed he has been forced to put his love for motorbikes “on the back-burner” because of his young family.
The British royal – who is expecting his third child with his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – discussed his love of bikes with triple World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea on Tuesday (21.11.17).
Jonathan – who was handed his MBE by the royal – said: “I know he’s a bit of a motorcycle fan himself. We talked about his bikes and the fact that he has put it on the back-burner a little bit because of his children now.”
The future King has been a keen biker from a young age, and had previously been known to own bikes including a 1199cc Ducati.
In 2008, Prince William and his brother, Prince Harry, took part in a motorcycle rally across Africa to raise money for a variety of charities including Sentebale, which was jointly founded by the younger sibling.

The 36-year-old actress has played the part of Rachel Zane on the popular drama series since 2011, but the brunette beauty – who has been dating Britain’s Prince Harry since the middle of 2016 – is leaving the show.
Of her last few days on set, a source said: “Meghan was extra pleasant on set and more personable, really engaged with the cast and crew.”
Meghan’s much-discussed exit from the show has apparently helped to bring the cast and crew even closer together.
It’s been claimed, too, that there was a nostalgic feeling on the set as Meghan prepared to walk away.

Prince William’s love for bikes is ‘on the back-burner’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has put his love for motorbikes “on the back-burner”.
The 35-year-old royal honoured triple World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea with an MBE on Tuesday (21.11.17) when he told the star about his passion for motorbikes, which has been put on hold because of his growing brood.
Speaking about the Prince – who has four-year-old son Prince George, two-year-old Princess Charlotte, and is expecting his third child with his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – Jonathan said: “I know he’s a bit of a motorcycle fan himself. We talked about his bikes and the fact that he has put it on the back-burner a little bit because of his children now.”
Along with his 33-year-old brother Prince Harry, William has been a keen biker from a young age, and had previously been known to own bikes including a 1199cc Ducati.
In 2008, the royal brothers took part in a motorcycle rally across Africa to raise money for a variety of charities including Sentebale, which was jointly founded by Prince Harry.
Meanwhile, whilst William has put his motorcycle dreams aside for the sake of raising a family, his wife Catherine, 35, admitted recently that he had difficulties adapting to parenthood.
The Duchess opened up to a single father, named Billy, about how her husband was “similar” to the single parent as he too found it hard being a dad during her visit to the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre earlier this month.
Billy – who is bringing up his seven-month-old daughter Violet single-handedly – said: “She was saying William was sort of similar and I just wanted to let her know how Family Action have been there for me and I think they need more support.”
During the trip Catherine also spoke to guests about her children’s hobbies, and revealed her oldest child is obsessed with helicopters.
A mother named Michelle recalled her conversation with the beauty, and she said: “She was asking about what Jacob liked and he said he liked aeroplanes and she was asking if he’d seen a Spitfire and we said we liked going to the Science Museum and RAF museum.
“She was saying how George likes helicopters – she was saying about the top floor of the Science Museum where the helicopters are.”

Queen Elizabeth is now the oldest head of state

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth is now the oldest reigning head of state.
The 91-year-old monarch has been handed the new title after Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe, 93, ended his three-decade reign by stepping down from the role earlier this week.
Queen Elizabeth is now the oldest head of state alive today, though she is closely followed by 90-year-old Beji Caid Essebsi, who is president of Tunisia.
This isn’t the only impressive title the Queen can boast either, as back in 2015 she surpassed her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, as the longest-reigning monarch, having now ruled over Great Britain for a whopping 65 years.
And she also takes the crown alongside her husband Prince Philip, 96, when it comes to the longest royal marriage, as on Monday (20.11.17) they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
To commemorate the special occasion, a new portrait of the pair was issued, which sees the couple framed on either side by portraits painted in 1781 of George III and Queen Charlotte, who were married for 57 years – the longest royal marriage until their own.
In the photograph – which was snapped by Matt Holyoak of the Camera Press, which is also celebrating its 70th year – Queen Elizabeth is wearing a a cream day dress by Angela Kelly, accompanied by a gold, ruby and diamond brooch Prince Philip gave her in 1966.
The Duke of Edinburgh, meanwhile, is wearing a tweed jacket and burgundy tie.
The portrait isn’t the only thing the couple did to celebrate seven decades together, as the Queen also appointed her spouse as Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.
A tweet from the official Royal Family account stated: “Her Majesty has appointed His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to be a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO).
“Awards in the Royal Victorian Order are made personally by The Queen, for services to the Sovereign.”
The honour is believed to have been awarded to the royal as a sign of Queen Elizabeth’s thanks for showing her his everlasting support both publicly and privately, over the past seven decades of marriage.

Meghan Markle to be ‘ambassador’ for royals

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle is set to be a “great ambassador” for the Royal family.
The 36-year-old American actress has been dating Prince Harry for 16 months, and with an engagement believed to be on the cards, sources have claimed the star will “bring millions” to the UK economy for clothing and homeware brands as people strive to be just like the brunette beauty.
David Haigh, CEO from Brand Finance, told news.com.au: “Although it is difficult to speculate about numbers, it can be expected that Ms Markle will join the Duchess of Cambridge as a great ambassador of the monarchy, especially in her native United States and in Canada where she has recently lived.”
The expected market growth is being dubbed the “Meghan effect”, and it comes after the similarly titled “Kate effect” saw the UK rake in £152 million in 2015 alone, as fans rushed out to bag the latest Reiss or Alexander McQueen outfit as worn by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
It doesn’t take a royal wedding to spark an increase in sales either, as Meghan has already been responsible for earning a London-based sunglasses firm £20,000 in 24 hours by wearing a pair of their shades to the Invictus Games in Toronto last month.
The brunette beauty donned a pair of Percy Sunglasses by Finlay & Co. for the Invictus Games – which was screened around the world – and that led to a huge spike in demand for the brand, with women everywhere apparently desperate to get their hands on a pair.
In fact, the intense demand for the shades caused the firm’s website to crash a number of times, according to sources.
And Meghan could be set to do a lot more of her shopping in UK stores, as she’s reportedly planning on moving to London permanently, after having already moved her dogs to the country.
A source revealed: “She is very close to those two dogs. She lets them sleep on her bed and they eat only the highest quality organic food.
“She misses them when she is away and will even get someone to FaceTime her with them.
“The fact she’s started the process of moving them to England is the clearest hint yet that she sees her future living in London with Harry.”

Prince Harry given Archbishop’s blessing for marriage?

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been given the Archbishop of Canterbury’s blessing to get married.
The 33-year-old royal has been dating the ‘Suits’ actress – who was previously married to TV producer Trevor Engelson – for over a year now, and engagement rumours have been circling for months.
And now, according to the Daily Express newspaper, Archbishop Justin Welby is said to have confirmed to the couple that he has no objections to a possible marriage between them, clearing the way for a royal wedding which would likely take place at Westminster Abbey.
Officials at the Abbey – who have previously confirmed they allow divorced people to wed there – said the couple would require a marriage licence from the Archbishop’s faculty office, but other possible venues would include St Paul’s Cathedral or St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
However, the Archbishop himself, as well as his office at Lambeth Palace and Kensington Palace – where Harry lives in a bachelor pad – have all declined to comment on the speculation.
Whilst the pair have been dating for around 16 months, the 36-year-old star first caught the eye of the Prince two years prior to their meeting, as he had been attracted to Rachel Zane, her character on the USA Network drama.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl said: “He had a crush on Rachel Zane two years before he met Meghan and the reason I know is because I was having drinks with one of his friends.
“She told me she’d been on a night out with Prince Harry. He was single at the time, so she said, ‘Harry, who’s your ideal girl?’ And he said ‘Meghan Markle from ‘Suits’.'”
The flame-haired royal orchestrated a meeting between the pair in July 2016 through mutual friend Markus Anderson, and whilst they met up with “seven or eight” people, it was the “perfect opportunity” for the two to talk.
Katie added: “He asked Markus if he could set up, not a date, but an opportunity for them to meet and that happened in one of the private rooms of Soho House.
“There were about seven or eight of them altogether and it was a perfect opportunity for Harry and Meghan to come together in a really informal environment and actually talk.
“She was funny, feisty, confident and she wasn’t swayed or knocked by the fact that he was Prince Harry. She thought he was terribly cute.”

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip always laugh together

OHMYGOSSIP — The secret to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s lasting love is “laughter”, according to royal biographer Ingrid Seward.
The royal couple are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary, and the whopping milestone has left people wondering what exactly it is that has kept them together for so long.
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward believes the answer is humour, and credits Queen Elizabeth, 91, as a “wonderful mimic” who can do a variety of accents which endlessly amuse her 96-year-old spouse.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (20.11.17), Ingrid said: “I think the secret is they laugh together, we all know that life is very, very difficult. I think the queen is [the comedian] she’s a wonderful mimic, absolutely brilliant mimic. She can do Liverpool, she can do Liverpool really well, she does Irish she can do all kinds of accents. She’s very good at American as well.”
The biographer also believes Philip was a “house husband” when Elizabeth became Queen in 1952, as it was often up to him to look after their children, Prince Charles, 69, Princess Anne, 67, Prince Andrew, 57, and Prince Edward, 53.
Ingrid added: “I always say Prince Philip was a house husband, which he would not like, because he wasn’t because he was in the Navy, he was a Naval officer.
“He spent a lot of time dealing with the children because the queen was 25 years old and suddenly she was sitting doing all the state business and meeting people every 10 to 20 minutes of the day.”
The happy couple also still share a bedroom, although Prince Philip does have his own room for when he’s sick, or if he should ever come home late.
Ingrid said: “They have a bedroom together and as aristocratic people used to do – I don’t know if they still do – the man has his own bedroom. If he’s sick, if he’s had a late night or he’s been out with the boys. I think it’s a really good idea.”

Prince Charles wanted to live the life of a jockey

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles’ passion for horse racing came out of wanting to “understand” what it was like to be a jockey.
The 68-year-old royal had a brief career in horse racing which started when he was 31, and he has admitted the decision to take part in the sport was inspired by his interest in understanding the “incredibly hard work” that goes in to being a professional jockey.
Asked why he got into the sport, he said: “I wanted to understand what it was like from a jockey’s perspective. Because a lot of people don’t understand. You go to the races and you just see people galloping around, you have no idea until you do it just what incredibly hard work it is, and how much technique and practice and application and fitness there has to be.”
The royal underwent rigorous training before he even sat on a horse, including riding a bicycle without any saddle, in order to get him used to the feel of not being sat on anything whilst still using his legs.
When asked what training he did, he said: “Oh lots. I ran, and I bicycled endlessly, on a bicycle with no saddle. Because you take the seat off so that you can’t sit down.”
Prince Charles bought his first racehorse, Allibar, in May 1980, and remembers the animal as a “special old horse”.
He recalled: “He was a very special old horse because he had all the right confirmation, and he had the right front on him.”
Charles – who has Prince William, 35, and Prince Harry, 33, with his late ex-wife Princess Diana, and is currently married to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall – entered a handicap chase at Ludlow on Allibar, and admitted he was nervous when the race began.
Speaking in a short documentary on ITV Racing which aired over the weekend, he said: “It was very exciting, I remember fantastic butterflies, which is a very good thing to get, because once you get going you stay calmer, I find.”

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are ‘inspirational’

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are an “inspiration”, according to Reverend John R Hall, Dean of Westminster.
The 91-year-old monarch and her husband celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Monday (20.11.17), and the Dean of Westminster – who performed the wedding ceremony for their grandson Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – has heaped praise on the couple’s lasting love.
Speaking in a BBC One special entitled ‘Elizabeth & Philip: Love & Duty’ which aired on Monday, he said: “[They are] an inspiration, not just to their family but to us all. Their union is a rock, and it is impossible to imagine what it would be like without them.”
And the Reverend – who also had the honour of taking the service for the pair’s diamond wedding celebration service in 2007 – believes the key to the couple’s seven decades of happiness has been the “love” they share for one another.
He said: “They were very much in love. It was a love match – and that’s been very important. [They have] a deeply loyal sense of duty which is bolstered and uplifting by their faith.”
Despite reaching the impressive milestone, Queen Elizabeth and her 96-year-old spouse decided last month that they would not have a public celebration for their wedding anniversary, because they were said to be content with having a “private affair”.
A source said at the time: “Any celebration will be a private, family affair. There will be no public event.”
Elizabeth and Philip previously marked their silver, golden and diamond wedding anniversaries with national services of thanksgiving, which were held at London’s Westminster Abbey.
Whilst no public ceremony took place this year, the pair have had double-headed platinum coins released to mark the occasion, as well as a new portrait, commemorative stamps, and a collection red and gold glassware and china.
Elizabeth and Philip tied the knot on November 20, 1947 at Westminster Abbey, and they received more than 2,500 gifts from around the world.

Meghan Markle back in London to see Prince Harry

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle reportedly flew to London this weekend to spend time with her boyfriend Prince Harry.
The 36-year-old actress is believed to have flown from Toronto, Canada, where she films her legal drama ‘Suits’, on Saturday (18.11.17) in order to land in London where her flame-haired royal beau resides.
It is unknown how long Meghan plans to stay in the English capital, but it comes as Harry’s grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, hosted a family dinner to commemorate their 70th wedding anniversary.
According to Hello! magazine, the brunette beauty wrapped up filming on ‘Suits’ last week, and has now headed to London to spend her well-deserved time off with 33-year-old Prince Harry.
The news of their rapidly moving romance comes after it was previously reported that Meghan was keen to move her pet pooches – a Labrador/shepherd mix named Bogart and a beagle called Guy – to the UK, as she’s looking to move to the country permanently, and misses her dogs when she’s away from them.
A source said: “She is very close to those two dogs. She lets them sleep on her bed and they eat only the highest quality organic food.
“She misses them when she is away and will even get someone to FaceTime her with them.
“The fact she’s started the process of moving them to England is the clearest hint yet that she sees her future living in London with Harry.”
And the reports only add to speculation that an engagement is on the cards, with some sources suggesting the pair have already taken their relationship to the next level, but are waiting before they tell the world.
One insider said: “He [Harry] always planned to share the news only with family [Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Prince William] at first so he could enjoy it before word spread. But they will make an official announcement soon.”
