Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s banana wedding cake

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want a wedding cake made from bananas.
The couple confirmed last week they will tie the knot in May 2018 after the flame-haired prince popped the question, and the pair are both such fans of the fruit they want it to play a huge part in their big day.
A source told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “This will be the first royal wedding cake made from bananas.”
Harry is known to have a penchant for bananas after his former royal chef Darren McGrady admitted he and his brother Prince William “loved banana flan, anything with banana really, banana ice cream”.
What’s more, the yellow fruit has already played a part in his and Meghan’s relationship.
In November 2016, she posted an Instagram picture of two bananas spooning and added the caption: “Sleep tight xx (sic)”. Some fans believe it was a cryptic message to Harry.
A banana cake would mark a royal wedding first, and cake designer Rosalind Miller is expecting the couple to break with tradition.
She said: “A traditional wedding cake is a rich fruit cake, like a Christmas cake, where all the cake is soaked in alcohol first.
“But with Meghan being American, they are more used to having sponge cakes. We find that in actual fact, most couples that come to us also want sponge cakes these days. The traditional rich fruit cake is not very popular now.”
Harry and Meghan stepped out together in Nottingham on Friday (01.12.17) in their first public royal engagement since confirming they will marry next year.
They were spotted holding hands in the city, where they were for a World Aids Day fair and to visit a youth project.

Prince William hand delivers son’s Christmas list to Father Christmas

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke of Cambridge has hand delivered his son’s Christmas list to Father Christmas.
The 35-year-old royal passed on Prince George’s wish list onto Santa Claus during a recent trip to Helsinki, in Finland, as they celebrated 100 years of independence.
But according to BBC News, the four-year-old does not have “many requests” this year.
Prince William – who also has two-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte with his wife Duchess Catherine, who is also pregnant with their third child – said: “He hasn’t written down many requests, so I think one request is probably OK.”
In George’s handwritten list he insisted he had been “nice” over the past 12 months.
On the letter George wrote: “Dear Father Christmas this year I have been naughty/nice”, to which the youngster circled the latter.
This was also backed up by William who confirmed George had been a “nice boy” recently.
The list offered people the option of penning five gifts they would like, however George only wrote down one – a police car, before he signed off.
The Kensington Palace Official Instagram account has shared an image of William meeting the festive figure.

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine has been recalling her “fond memories” of gardening with her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The 35-year-old royal has admitted during a visit to the Robin Hood Primary School in London that she loved getting outdoors during her younger years and has been passing on her green fingered tips to her kids, who she shares with Prince William.
In a speech to youngsters in the playground, she said: “I’ve got such fond memories of being in the garden and being outside from my own childhood, and I’m sharing that with my own children George and Charlotte at the moment.
“What you have created here is really so special. Hopefully you will have lots of memories of your time here in the garden, looking for insects or planting bulbs.
“I hope you remember these special times for the rest of your lives.”

But she admitted her wood carving efforts were “not very good” during her attempt at whittling a stick.
A youngster then reassured her she would get the technique if she put the hours in, saying: “Practice makes perfect.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to hold wedding ballot?

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could hold a public ballot to invite people to their wedding.
The couple confirmed on Monday (27.11.17) they were engaged to be married and on Tuesday (28.11.17) it was revealed they will tie the knot at Windsor Castle in May 2018, and they are said to be keen to ensure the British public feel “part of the celebrations”.
According to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, the pair are “working through ideas for how this might be achieved”.
One potential way of doing this would be to follow in the footsteps of Harry’s uncle Prince Edward’s wedding to Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999 when they had a ballot for 8,000 people to be a part of the nuptials inside the castle.
They also took a carriage ride through the town of Windsor, where 30,000 people lined the streets to see them on their big day.
Earlier this week, Kensington Palace communications secretary Jason Knauf admitted Harry and Meghan were pleased that so many people in the UK and around the world were celebrating their engagement news with them, and admitted the couple are keen to get the public involved in their big day.
He said: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are extremely grateful for the warm public response following yesterday’s announcement of their engagement.
“In a happy moment in their lives, it means a great deal to them that so many people throughout the UK, the Commonwealth, and around the world are celebrating with them.
“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are delighted that the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle will be where they begin their lives together as a married couple.
“The couple of course want the day to be a special, celebratory moment for their friends and family.
“They also want the day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too and are currently working through ideas for how this might be achieved.”
Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, have been dating for around 16 months after being introduced by a mutual friend.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth?

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth.
The newly-engaged couple may well be invited to spend the three days of the festive period with the Royal Family at Sandringham, Norfolk, eastern England, this year, even though it would be a break in tradition ahead of their marriage.
According to Mail Online, it is thought the 36-year-old actress will secure an invite to the festivities following the pair’s engagement announcement on Monday (27.11.17).
But Prince William’s wife Duchess Catherine was not invited to join him for Christmas in 2010, despite the couple – who have son Prince George, four, and two-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte – getting engaged a month previous.
Several other royals are expected to join the queen and Prince Philip at Sandringham on Christmas Eve (24.12.17)
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are expected to be in attendance, as are Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence.
Prince Edward with his wife, Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, and their children, Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn, are also thought to be on the queen’s Christmas guest list.
Festive celebrations at Sandringham include a visit to church and there is a strict timetable for all events, with Christmas lunch said to only have a 50-minute timeslot.
On Boxing Day (26.12.17), Philip leads a traditional pheasant shoot.
In October, Harry was said to have introduced Meghan to the queen when he took her to tea with his grandmother at Buckingham Palace in London to discuss their impending engagement.
A source said at the time: “The couple arrived in time for tea at around 5pm. It is the queen’s favourite part of the day and she loves it when her grandchildren are able to join her. She normally sits for half an hour eating from a selection of sandwiches, fruit or plain scones and cake. It is served with her own blend of Darjeeling and Assam tea, known as Queen Mary’s blend.”

Prince William gifts Queen letter to Finland’s President

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William gifted Finland’s President a letter from Queen Elizabeth to mark the country’s 100th year of independence.
The 35-year-old royal is currently on a two-day tour of Helsinki where he met head of state Sauli Niinisto and gave him the note which he described as “a message to a good friend”.
Elizabeth’s message read: “Prince Philip and I send our warmest good wishes to you and to the people of Finland on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.
“We have fond memories of our State visit to Finland in 1976, when we experienced the warm hospitality of Helsinki, Turku and Jyvaskyla.
“In 1976, I spoke about how we in Britain had long associated friendliness with Finland, an association that is no less true 41 years later.
“Over the past four decades our two nations have worked together in many ways – on security, on commerce, on our people-to-people Iinks – always aided by that spirit of friendship.
“I have no doubt that we will continue to build our relationship in this way in the years to come.”
William also visited a Helsinki ice rink to see the work of Icehearts – a child welfare charity which helps youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds feel less excluded – and show off his ice hockey skills.
He later headed to a reception, where he made a speech praising the nation and admitted he was looking forward to learning more about the country.
William said: “I am delighted to be visiting Finland as you celebrate 100 years of Independence – a country that has become a byword for courage, determination and resilience; a country that through its commitment to civil liberties, education and quality of life has become a model to be studied, envied and emulated worldwide.

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has joked he hopes Prince Harry’s engagement will mean he stops “scrounging” all his food.
The 35-year-old royal was delighted to hear his younger brother, 33, popped the question to Meghan Markle, and has poked fun at him, quipping it may mean he won’t be raiding his fridge as much as he used to now that he has a long-term partner of his own.
Speaking in Helsinki, Finland, during a visit to charity Icehearts, he said: “We’re all very excited, delighted for them both. Wishing them all the happiness in this very exciting time.
“For me personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge, it will stop him scrounging all my food he’s done over the last few years.”

Meghan Markle wants to get UK citizenship

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle is reportedly set to get a UK citizenship following her engagement to Prince Harry.
The 36-year-old actress announced she was taking her romance with her 33-year-old beau to the next step earlier this week, and as the couple’s wedding ceremony at Windsor Castle next year is fast approaching, Meghan intends to secure a dual nationality as a UK and US citizen.
However, a spokesperson for the former ‘Suits’ star thinks it is “too early to say” whether Meghan will be granted the dual nationality.
And even if Meghan is granted both, the process to become a UK citizen is believed to be a painstakingly long process, which is believed to take a number of years to confirm, CNN has reported.
But that is not the only new title Meghan is set to land herself, as she is rumoured to be given named the Duchess of Sussex once her and her fiance are married.
And to stick with tradition in the UK, Harry is also expected to be handed a new moniker on his wedding day, with the Duke of Sussex regarded as the most likely choice, although the alternatives include the likes of Clarence, Connaught, Windsor, Albany, and Cumberland.
However, many of those names have an inauspicious history, meaning Sussex is now rumoured to be the favoured option for the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II.
Speaking previously about Meghan and Harry’s potential future titles, Charles Kidd – who is the editor of Debrett’s Peerage & Baronetage – said: “They’re quite limited in the titles that are available. The Duke of Sussex is the front-runner without any doubt.”
But in the unlikely event that Harry opts to decline the offer of a title, Meghan would be known as HRH Princess Henry of Wales – a moniker derived by Harry’s actual name.

Despite this, Meghan has been hailed as a “true humanitarian” by the chief marketing and development worker at World Vision, who believes the former ‘Suits’ star will thrive when she carries out her engagements, the Mail Online has reported.
Speaking about Meghan, Lara said: “Meghan is a true humanitarian. We’re deeply grateful for her contribution as a global ambassador for World Vision over the past two years and for helping to raise awareness for the world’s most vulnerable children.

“She will undoubtedly bring vast energy to her charity work as a member of the royal family.”
And the charity “can’t wait” to see Meghan’s future with her 33-year-old fiancé bloom in the future, as Lara believes they both have a “heart for social justice”.
