Cardi B thanks Offset for ‘always uplifting’ her

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B has thanked her husband Offset for always “uplifting” her.
The ‘I Like It’ hitmaker – who has three-month-old daughter Kulture with the Migos star – took to her Instagram Story to share the sweet message with her 35.2 million followers on Wednesday (07.11.8).
She simply wrote: “THANK YOU @OFFSETYRN ALWAYS UPLIFTING ME (sic)”, along with the love heart emoji.
Cardi’s life has been crazy of late, especially with her on-going feud with rival rapper Nicki Minaj.
The chart-topping star recently dismissed rumours she’s penned a diss track about the ‘Chun-Li’ hitmaker – who she was involved in an altercation with at New York Fashion Week – insisting she’d rather address their differences in person.
She said: “The way that I came up, it was never about dissing nobody, and I still feel like I don’t need to diss anybody for nothing. My music was never about that.
“I have a short temper, so that’s like doing things that I don’t stand for. I don’t like when people be subbing me. So why would I subbing you on music?
“And any problem that I have, I always address people face-to-face. I don’t care. It’s whatever the energy’s like. I don’t care.”
Meanwhile, Cardi recently admitted she’s been too busy to release a “bonus” track for her fans.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker’s star wanted to treat fans to an album outtake, but she’s been unable to so far because her schedule is so packed.
She said: “The plan was always to drop a, like, bonus. But I just didn’t [think] I was going to be so busy doing back-and-forth, back-and-forth things after I gave birth. It’s like, oh my God, like, my schedule is so flooded.
“Maybe in December or just maybe January. I don’t know. It’s just songs that I felt were really good songs that didn’t make the album.”

Louis Smith retires from gymnastics

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Smith is retiring from gymnastics.
The 29-year-old Olympic medalist has announced he’s leaving the competitive sport to embark on a career in theatre, with his touring show ‘Rip It Up’ heading for the West End.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ winner was planning on entering the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, but he has now decided to call it a day as he feels his chances of qualifying would be slim.
Appearing on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’ on Thursday morning (08.11.8), he said: “I think I’m a baby in the grand scheme of things but in the sporting world, I’m getting on a little bit.
“It was a tough decision. Last year, I had the mindset that given the time around now, I was going get back into training and push for 2020.
“The whole qualification process has changed there was a minuscule chance I would even qualify.
“I thought I would give it a chance.
“Then new opportunities come up and you have to make smart life choices, I can’t keep putting on a leotard!”
Louis – who first came to prominence at the 2006 Commonwealth Games – admitted it hadn’t been an easy ride but he’s proud of his achievements – which includes winning a bronze and two silver medals on the pommel horse at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics respectively – and thanked his coach and family for their support over the years.
He continued: “Three Olympic Games, four medals, it’s been a hard career, but it’s been a very fun one and very rewarding. I wouldn’t have made it if it hadn’t been for my coach, my mum, my friends.”
Louis said that being a gymnast helped him stay focused through a difficult childhood, which saw him battle ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
He said: “I struggled quite badly with ADHD as a child. I didn’t do very well in school, a short attention span, that combined with a single parent mum, growing up in a rough area, it could have been a lot different.”
Despite putting an end to his Olympic career, Louis will keep his toe in gymnastics by continuing to help young children achieve their dreams at the summer camps he runs.
He said: “I would love to stay involved in gymnastics, I have gymnastic summer camps that I do every year, I put camps on for kids.
“I go down I give them a bit of coaching and interact with them and I do school visits … I try and get kids into sport.”
Louis admitted he feels “very liberated”, and even joked he was ready for a beer as he made the announcement on the early morning show.
He said: “I feel very liberated now. It’s a strange feeling every athlete wonders when this day will come and this is what it feels like! I might go for a beer, it’s only early, but nothing stopping me now!”
Watch ‘Lorraine’ ITV, weekdays 8.30am to 9.25am.

Rachel Adedeji’s Hollyoaks return nerves

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Adedeji feared she might’ve forgotten how to act before her ‘Hollyoaks’ return.
The 27-year-old actress was “very nervous” before she headed back to the set of the Channel 4 soap to reprise her role as Lisa Loveday – who was last seen on screen in December 2017 – following her maternity leave, but she is “glad” to be back on the show.
Rachel – who has 10-month-old daughter Lillian with husband Jason Finegan – said: “It hasn’t actually felt like I’ve left but it’s been amazing, everyone’s so welcoming as usual. Initially I was very nervous because I felt like a new girl again.
“I was like ‘I hope I know how to act’ because I’d been out of the game for a while, but it straight away comes back to you funnily enough. As soon as I get the heels on, the wig on, I’m like, ‘Yeah, she’s back baby!’ It’s amazing and I’m glad I came back when I did.”
Rachel welcomed Lillian into the world in December last year, and she is planning to make sure the youngster’s birthday is “all Christmassy” to ensure the little one doesn’t “hate” her when she grows up.
She added: “Me and my husband didn’t plan to have a baby three days before Christmas last year, so I don’t really know where we’re going to be.
“I need to think about out how I’m going to celebrate my baby’s first birthday and not make it all Christmassy or she’s really going to hate me when she grows up. I’m hoping it’ll be better than last year and not just sleeping all day.”
Rachel previously opened up about suffering from the baby blues after giving birth, and she recently admitted turning to exercise helped her “mental state”.
She said: “I’ve always been quite a fit person anyway so I started working out quite soon after having my daughter but that wasn’t even for aesthetic reasons, it was for my mental state. I’m so glad I did it for those reasons.
“Eventually I started to notice a result and then I started to feel better about myself, but I’m so glad I didn’t do it for those reasons, it wasn’t the forefront pressure for me.”

Taron Egerton confirms he will sit out next Kingsman movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Taron Egerton will sit out the next ‘Kingsman’ movie.
The 28-year-old actor – who plays Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in the spy movies – has confirmed he won’t be appearing in the new film, but hasn’t ruled out a return in the future.
He told Yahoo UK: “I don’t know how hot off the press this is, and I think I’m allowed to say it, but I’m not in the next Kingsman movie. That doesn’t mean I won’t be in Kingsman ever again. I was with Matthew [Vaughn] as little as a few days ago, we’re still very much in business together, but his next journey in that world doesn’t involve me.”
Meanwhile, Taron previously revealed he relished the experience of working with Colin Firth on the first two movies and says he is “affable and pleasant and kind as he seems”.
He shared: “I think even if I tried to pretend that I don’t like Colin, I wouldn’t get very far. I’ve seen so many shots of me looking like I want to marry him. He’s just every bit as affable and pleasant and kind as he seems … He has this persona of being a landed gentry type, but he’s very down-to-earth and sweet and cool. He’s just a dad, a family man who occasionally pretends to be a super-spy.”
And Taron was starstruck when he met Sir Elton John on the set of ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’.
He shared: “I didn’t get to spend that much time with him, but we had one lovely conversation. He’s such an icon that you almost forget he is a real person. I still haven’t processed that I met him.”

Dakota Johnson found isolation on Suspiria set helpful

OHMYGOSSIP — Dakota Johnson found it “helpful” to be isolated from civilisation whilst filming ‘Suspiria’.
The 29-year-old actress enjoyed being “up a mountain” in Firenze, Italy whilst working on the supernatural horror movie and whilst she felt it was good for her character, she didn’t like being so far away from her family.
She said: “It’s so helpful. It’s so helpful. It’s funny because when we were filming Trump was elected to office and I felt like I was on another planet. I felt like I was looking down on the world, being like ‘Oh, God, what’s happening to my home?’ It was both helpful and terrifying. I was really far away from my family. I felt like inferior that I couldn’t protect them from this, but it was a really interesting thing. But it was helpful. It was really … I like being sort of sequestered into a place to make something and then leave and you emerge with this product of like creative force. To be there with a bunch of dancers and a bunch of incredible actresses from all over the world was unbelievable. It was like a real coven. It was like a real … there was some real witchy stuff. I found this little restaurant that made the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. It was hard to come by some really good food that wasn’t just pasta and bread there and playing a dancer you can’t really eat those things. I was so hungry. By Friday every week I would go to this restaurant and eat a burger and drink a bottle of wine and then wake up on Monday.”
And the ‘How to Be Single’ star enjoyed working with Tilda Swinton on the movie.
She told Collider: “It’s really extraordinary. I feel very privileged to be able to watch her work and to work alongside her. She’s the most inspirational woman I’ve ever met … for me. To be able to have a very intimate relationship with her is like out of this world.”

Ariana Grande hints at tracklist in Breathin’ video

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has hinted at a tracklist in her video for ‘Breathin”.
The 25-year-old star has unveiled her new single, and eagle eyed fans have spotted a potential hint at new songs in the promo clip, which was directed by Hannah Lux Davis.
The video features Ariana singing on a pile of suitcases, and walking through the fog before she escapes into the sky.
One shot in the clip shows a departures board in a bus station, and while many of the words are jumbled, some of them appear to be song titles.
‘Needy’ – which fans have already been teased with a snippet of – is up there, along with ‘NASA’, ‘Imagine’ and ‘Remember’.
As MTV News reports, all four of these titles were included on a rumoured tracklist which was seemingly leaked on Twitter last month.
It wouldn’t be a new trick for Ariana, who previously hid part of the ‘Sweetener’ tracklist in the video for her emotional single ‘No Tears Left To Cry’.
The possible tease comes after the singer has revealed she is already planning her next album ‘thank u, next’ – the follow-up to ‘Sweetener’, which was released earlier this year – and it could surfaced before 2019.
She recently said on Twitter: “exactly …. a new chapter … gratitude, growth, embracing our path bumps n all …. thank u, next … no drags…. no shade….. jus love, gratitude, acceptance, honesty, forgiveness … and growth … this what happens when u write an album w your best friends lol @VictoriaMonet they dig up all your old sayings and it ends up becoming the album title lmao (sic)”

Mike Shinoda says Linkin Park fans reached out to Avicii’s after his death

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Shinoda was “proud” of Linkin Park fans for reaching out when Avicii passed away.
The star’s bandmate Chester Bennington tragically took his own life in July 2017, and the band’s fanbase were there to help people when the Swedish DJ sadly died in April after his own struggles with mental health.
Speaking to Loudwire, Mike said: “In the last couple of years, I have been so impressed with how considerate they have been with not only our band but with other fan bases and their people.
“When I see somebody who’s down a bit, our fans actually reached out, which was fantastic.
“When [Swedish DJ] Avicii passed away [on April 20, 2018], I saw our fans reaching out to his fans, saying we know what it’s like, and trying to talk to them. I was really proud of them for that.”
Since his friend’s death, Mike – who added there is no new updates on the future of Linkin Park – has been on tour himself after releasing his ‘Post Traumatic’ EP, but he has now insisted the shows haven’t been about getting closure.
He explained: “It’s really not about that. I think the central goal has been to get out there and thank the fans in person for being there for me.
“When I when I was looking on Twitter and Instagram after Chester passed away, it was really comforting to me. I saw all of the amazing things fans said, the murals they made, the tribute concerts they held with cover bands and fans just gathering together and singing songs.
“So many people showed their love and their respect in so many different ways. I just felt really motivated to come out and thank people in person. That was a major driver for all of this.”

Georgia Fowler on what not to do at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Fowler insists the most important thing to remember when you walk at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is to “be yourself on stage”.
The 26-year-old model always reminds herself to enjoy the strut up the runway and not get preoccupied with interacting with the audience.
In an interview with Vogue Australia, she said: “I think the most important thing to do is be yourself on stage and do what comes naturally. It’s not about everyone getting to the runway and blowing a kiss, but more about engaging the audience along the journey there and having fun!”
The brunette beauty also shared her fitness regime in the weeks leading up to the illustrious event and admitted that she “loves working out” and definitely intensifies her routine as the show approaches.
She said: “It’s important for my job to be strong and healthy year round, and I love working out, but I definitely intensify my regime in the lead-up.
“I’m an absolute perfectionist and love a challenge, so in the lead-up to the show there’s no excuses.
“I love to make training fun, so my trainer does a lot of athletic drills with me to keep me motivated.”
The New Zealand-born model loves training and often sets herself personal fitness goals – however, she admits that balance is key in a healthy lifestyle and loves to unwind by having dinner and watching a movie with friends.
She said: “The most grounding thing for me to do to unwind is have my friends over for a healthy meal and movie. On top of that, I try to sleep as much as possible when my schedule permits.”

Sara Sampaio sleeps with wet hair to get ‘scruffy’ look

OHMYGOSSIP — Sara Sampaio goes to bed with wet hair so she can get a “scruffy, bedhead look”.
The 27-year-old Victoria’s Secret model admitted that her brunette locks are “like her baby” and she washes it a night to avoid sleeping with dirty hair, and she swears by hydrating shampoo and oil to add moisture to her strands.
In an interview with Glamour, she said: “I take really good care of my hair, it’s like my baby. I hate going to bed with my hair dirty so I always wash it at night. I’m all about hair hydration so I use the Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner and then twice a week I’ll use the mask to deeply replenish the moisture. I sleep with my hair wet so I get that scruffy, bedhead look and then in the morning, I’ll puts some drops of the Moroccanoil Treatment in and I’m good to go.
“That’s without a doubt my desert island beauty product. If I have my Moroccanoil Treatment, I don’t need anything else!”
Although Sara uses a host of hydrating hair products if she has a big event coming up, when she’s not working, the Portuguese beauty tries to use less products and aims for a more natural look.
She said: “When I’m off-duty and don’t have to work, I try not to use any products on my hair or my skin. I just focus on replenishing the moisture and restoring radiance. I’m all about hydration and trying to get as much of that as I possibly can. I love going on holiday as the sun always makes my hair a little lighter, but the sea salt or chlorine can dry my hair and skin out.
“So I always make sure to treat them to a nourishing oil or hydrating mask. I love the beach waves look but there are products that can give you that look without the damage.”

Wrangler releasing Bohemian Rhapsody inspired collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Wrangler is releasing a collection based on Queen biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
The American denim manufacturer is launching a limited-edition Queen-inspired collection in homage to the band’s late frontman Freddie Mercury which coincides with the release of the movie.
Wrangler – who produced the iconic pair of jeans that Mercury wore during Queen’s 1985 Live Aid performance – was created in collaboration with music lifestyle brand Lyric Culture and ranges from $39 (£30) to $159 (£121).
The range includes a range of jeans, t-shirts, and jackets emblazoned with lyrics from some of the legendary band’s biggest hits such as ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, ‘We Are the Champions’ and ‘Killer Queen’.
Speaking to Billboard, Jenni Broyles – Vice President and General Manager of Wrangler – said: “Since 1947 we’ve partnered with legendary recording artists, supported music festivals and events all around, and for us, we view both music and our brand as a connector.
“We’ve been on the likes of George Strait and Garth Brooks, but we’ve also been on the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Lady Gaga.
“Our brand has stood the test of time, and has been on the backs of music legends throughout the entirety of our seventy-three-year history.”
the biopic stars Rami Malek as the charismatic frontman and Lucy Boynton as Freddie’s long-time friend and former fiancée Mary Austin and Lucy admitted that while shooting the film Rami became “a stranger” after adopting the star’s signature style and look.
Speaking about the feeling Freddie was actually stood there with them, she said: “Yeah, totally, until you see Rami Malek in the makeup trailer at the end of the day without everything and it’s like there’s a stranger on our set. And then you come to work and it’s Freddie, and it’s like, well, that’s a person I know.”

Nikki Sanderson’s ‘stranger’ festive tradition

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Sanderson lets a “dark haired stranger” out of her house and back in again as part of a festive tradition.
The ‘Hollyoaks star – who plays Maxine Minniver in the Channel 4 soap – always makes sure the mystery person, who she admits is usually her mum, leaves her abode near the end of December only to come back in again to “let the old year out and the new year in”.
She said: “We have a new year tradition rather than a Christmas tradition, every year we would have a ‘dark haired stranger’ go out of the back door and in through the front, it is essentially to let the old year out and the new year in.
“But obviously you aren’t going to let a dark-haired stranger wander through your house, so it was my mum and she used to bring in with her a piece of coal, some money – even just a one penny piece, a piece of bread and a drink.
“So essentially the coal was so you could have heat for the year, the money for wealth for the year, bread for food for the year and drink for drink for the year. Letting the old out the back and bring in good fortune through the front.”
But the former ‘Coronation Street’ actress isn’t the only ‘Oaks’ star with festive traditions.
Jennifer Metcalfe – who, along with Nikki and several other ‘Hollyoaks’ stars, has teamed up with Outfit to create the ultimate party edit – loves to down wine and cheese over the Christmas period.
The raven-haired beauty – who has 16-month-old son Daye – said: “My party season always involves a lot of vino, maybe not so much this year with my little boy, but it always has done in the past.
“Also cheese, cheese and red wine – everyone just gets cheese and red wine out wherever you go.
“But just drink as much water as you can, so that when you do have a little tipple every now and again then it’s not so bad on the body.”

Paula Lane grateful for Coronation Street stepping stone

OHMYGOSSIP — Paula Lane is grateful to ‘Coronation Street’ for giving her the “building blocks” to “create her career”.
The 32-year-old star – who appeared on the ITV soap as Kylie Platt from 2010 to 2016 – admits her time on the show was a “rollercoaster”, and she is pleased to have landed roles in productions ‘Be More Martyn’ and ‘Kinky Boots’ following her stint on the cobbles.
She said: “Life is wonderful. Family is the most important thing to me. Corrie was a rollercoaster and it’s given me the building blocks to create my career.
“My last role as Rachel in #BeMoreMartyn was equally as special – a true life lesson in believing you can achieve anything if you work hard enough. I find it fascinating that both my roles post-Corrie ring out the message, ‘Just be who you want to be’.”
While Paula enjoyed her time on the soap, she would’ve liked to have had a more direct route to the Manchester-based set.
She said: “When I worked on ‘Corrie’, I always wished the tram had an express line from Victoria to Media City.”
Despite departing the cobbles a few years ago, Paula has kept in touch with her former co-star Jennie McAlpine (Fiz Stape), and loves going to her restaurant for some chill out time.
She added to website I Love Manchester: “I’m very good friends with Jennie McAlpine and I love Annie’s, the restaurant she runs with her husband Chris.
“I love getting away from it all and relaxing there.”

That’s Life! to return in 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Esther Rantzen has confirmed ‘That’s Life!’ is set to return to screens next year.
The 78-year-old presenter hosted the BBC One satirical consumer investigation series from 1973 until 1994, and she has now revealed work has begun on the reboot.
Esther told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “A friend of mine is having a go. We will see. ‘That’s Life!’ was a very particular programme which lasted for 21 years.
“It talked about injustices, washing machines that broke and showed you a talking dog at its funniest.”
The TV star has admitted that she feels the BBC’s former Creative Director, Alan Yentob, who decided to axe the show after more two decades, could have handled things differently, and says all it needed was to keep the format the same but update it “cosmetically”, which she hopes they will do with the new series.
She said: “What I would have done, Mr Yentob, is said: ‘OK, you have had a 21-year run. You are beginning to tell the same stories. So maybe let’s give you a year off, let’s find another presenter. Another three presenters. Let’s use Esther as a consultant.’
“What I would have done was refresh it cosmetically but keep that content. So maybe that is what is going to happen in January.”
Esther feels now is the perfect time to bring back the show.
She said: “I think there is a need for the programme. I definitely do.”
It was first reported in July that the ChildLine founder was said to be in talks to bring ‘That’s Life!’ back to TV screens, admitting it would be “lovely’ to see it return.
She said: “I think it would be lovely to have it back.
“I think we need it back. There are so many scams around that are still driving people nuts. And there are so many ridiculous rules.”
‘That’s Life!’ attracted more than 18 million viewers at its peak, and the show led to Esther setting up charity ChildLine, which promotes child protection, in 1986.

Saying he was “deeply touched” to see his brothers, niece and nephew in attendance, he added: “So proud to see my son, Cameron.

He recalled: “At the time she was doing quadruple duty.
“She was not only starring with me, [but] she was [also] my producing partner, on the campaign trail for her husband and finally, her biggest project:
“She was shooting a hit series that was eventually watched by hundreds of millions of fans. I’m speaking about her exercise videos.
“Thank you, Jane, you are a second generation sister. I appreciate you.”
