OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Rod Stewart has announced an exclusive signing event to mark the release of his 30th studio album ‘Blood Red Roses’.
The rock legend will give fans the chance to meet him and get his autograph on copies of the record at hmv’s flagship Oxford Street store on October 3, following the official release of the LP on September 28 on Decca Records.
The ‘I Don’t Want to Talk About It’ hitmaker released his latest album after three years away.
It includes an emotional ballad from the perspective of a concerned parent.
The 73-year-old star – who has two sons, Alastair, 12, and Aiden, seven, with his wife Lady Penny Lancaster, plus six grown-up children from past relationships – released ‘Didn’t I’, which is about the damage drugs can do.
Though the song isn’t said to be about any of his own brood, the former Faces star’s son Sean, 38 – whom he has with his former model wife Alana Stewart – has previously battled addiction but came out the other side thanks to his dad’s support and stints in rehab.
On the track, he belts: “But you thought it was cool, and I was just an old fool … Now I stand by your bedside watching you fight for your life.”
The raw song also includes a line about a father advising his daughter “that stuff is going to kill you” as she makes the move to Hollywood.
‘Didn’t I’ is the first taste of the ‘Maggie May’ hitmaker’s “deeply personal” 13-track collection containing all new material and three bonus covers.
Rod commented: “I always think I make albums for a few friends and this record has that intimacy.
“Sincerity and honesty go a long way in life and the same is true in songwriting.”
The record’s release comes nearly 50 years after the musician signed his very first solo recording contract.
‘Blood Red Roses’ – which follows 2015’s critically-acclaimed ‘Another Country’ – sees Rod team up with his long-term collaborator Kevin Savigar on some of the star’s finest acoustic folk songs, pure unadulterated rock’n’roll and Motown-tinged pop numbers.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s iconic final album ‘Electric Ladyland’ is being reissued to mark its 50th anniversary on November 9.
The deluxe boxset – which is being released by Experience Hendrix, L.L.C. and Sony’s Legacy Recordings – edition of the late rock legend’s band’s 1968 masterpiece will feature demos, live recordings and even a documentary on the making of the album that included the classic tracks ‘Burning of the Midnight Lamp’ and ‘Gypsy Eyes’.
It also features a brand new crisp surround sound mix of the entire original album by Hendrix’s original engineer Eddie Kramer.
The latter – who engineered every Hendrix album made during his life, and produced or co-produced nearly all of his posthumous material – said: “I had always dreamed of mixing ‘Electric Ladyland’ in 5.1 surround sound.
“It always felt to me as the perfect vehicle for the kind of adventuresome stuff that Jimi and I were trying to do in 1968. The visceral thrill when we completed the first surround mix of ‘Voodoo Child (Slight Return)’ was palpable. It was an overwhelming experience – pun intended. We viewed this song as the surround test and the moment I heard it I flashed back on those moments when Jimi and I were mixing the stereo album, laughing at our attempts to find that ‘elusive’ sound.”
The artwork is a photograph shot by the late Linda Eastman (McCartney) – the former wife of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney – of the band and children at the statue of Alice In Wonderland in New York’s Central Park, and was the ‘Purple Haze’ hitmaker’s own choice of imagery for the album’s cover image.
The shot was inside of the US version on Reprise Records in black and white, whilst the UK version of the album released by Track Records didn’t have the image at all – instead it featured an image of 19 naked women, which Hendrix famously hated.
Now fans will be able to see the colour version in all its glory on the boxset cover.
Last year, the original members of The Jimi Hendrix Experience group, drummer Mitch Mitchell and bass player Noel Redding, appeared on 1973’s ‘Hear My Train A Comin” for the posthumous LP ‘Both Sides Of The Sky’.
The band formed in Westminster, London, in September 1966, and were active until June 1969.
Hendrix chocked on his own vomit and died at the age of just 27 in September 1970, and was one of the first rock stars to join the famous cult 27 club.
Fans can purchase the boxset as either a 3CD/1 Blu-ray set or a 6LP/1 Blu-ray set from November 9.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sofia Vergara thinks Joe Manganiello doesn’t realise “how handsome and big he is”.
The 46-year-old actress married Joe, 41, in 2015, and even though he’s widely considered to be one of Hollywood’s most handsome stars, he apparently doesn’t see himself in that way.
She said: “He’s fit and he’s good-looking and everything, but he is very not into it – like, he doesn’t really know how handsome and big he is.
“He works out for health and for strength, not for a six-pack. You never hear him talking about stuff like that. It’s all about health and strength.”
Despite his enviable good looks, Joe actually pays very little interest to his appearance.
Sofia told the October issue of Health magazine: “His beauty routine is very simple: It’s a shower and combing his hair, and that’s it.
“I mean, he’ll get a sunburn, so I have to harass him and follow him around the house to put a little bit of cream on – it’s like I was putting poop in his face! You know? He is just a true guy.”
Meanwhile, Sofia admitted that even though she doesn’t enjoy going to the gym, it’s something she forces herself to do for the sake of her acting career.
The ‘Modern Family’ star said: “It is not one of my favourite things to do – but I do it because of my profession, and I want to stay healthy.
“The one thing that I have done that really has made a difference in my body is lifting weights. Not crazy weights. But, you know, like five pounds, seven pounds, 10 pounds. Twelve pounds is the maximum I can do.
“It keeps your muscles tight, and your skin tighter to you. I’ve done Pilates and spinning, and I’ve tried all sorts of things – and they’re great.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwendoline Christie says she’s “happy to be on the outside” in life.
The 39-year-old actress – who is best-known for her starring role in ‘Game of Thrones’ – has admitted to being bullied “terribly” during her school years, but she’s since grown to accept her “inconsistencies and ugly parts”.
Gwendoline told ES magazine: “You either think I’m unconventional and there’s no place for me and therefore I should disappear, or you think good, I’m happy to be on the outside.
“Because if this is the small-minded, mean, uncompassionate viewpoint of the inside, then I don’t want to be there. I’m happy out here with all the other leftovers, who show love and support for each other.
“All of the inconsistencies, complexities and ugly parts – whatever that might mean – can exist and beauty can be made out of it. That’s what I want beauty to be.”
Gwendoline has managed to escape some of her troubles through her quirky taste in fashion.
The actress – who is dating designer Giles Deacon – also revealed she is determined not to live a “prescriptive” lifestyle.
She said: “It was a combination of wanting to escape the unpleasant narrative that was being applied to me at school, where I was bullied terribly, and loving the transportative nature of the arts.
“It was about not wanting to live a prescriptive life.”
Gwendoline admitted she loves being able to play the part of someone else and, in turn, to run away from her real-life self for a short time.
She said: “It’s so much easier to be other people. And it’s always in putting on the mask that you reveal yourself. It’s however people find it easiest to breathe. And that’s how I find it easiest.”

The 30-year-old beauty has just launched her new Savage X Fenty lingerie collection at New York Fashion Week, but she’s urged her female fans to only wear lingerie for the right reasons, and not just to get married.
She said: “When lingerie is for you, you never lose your sexiness.
“I feel like a lot of times women do the lingerie thing to get the ring, and then they get the ring, and then it’s like, ‘OK, we’re here. [Now what?]'”
Rihanna also discussed her own attitude towards wearing lingerie – but she admitted that other women might not share her outlook.
The ‘Work’ hitmaker told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “For me, it might not be the same as for another lady.
“I think it has to be something that makes you feel the sexiest … I have those months when I’m like, ‘Girl, you’re not gonna fit into that thing. You’re gonna have to do a little slip.’ But fine! A slip works. A slip makes me feel sexy and I’ll just do that.
“I think women’s bodies are designed so differently, uniquely that they should just do what makes them feel best and sexiest.”
Rihanna’s show at New York Fashion Week featured appearances from Bella and Gigi Hadid.
And the chart-topping star – whose eye-catching show also included plus-size pieces and maternity designs – revealed she was determined to create something unique.

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe “never felt cool” playing the part of Harry Potter.
The 29-year-old actor – who starred as the titular protagonist in the money-spinning film series – has revealed he actually loves seeing internet memes of himself as Potter because, at the time, he still had insecurities about himself.
Reacting to a meme during his appearance on ‘The Tonight Show’, Daniel said: “What’s cool about that stuff is I never as a kid, and you’re just insecure at that age, I never felt cool at any point playing that character. And people thought that was pretty cool, it’s nice.”
Daniel was also shown a video of a dancing fan dressed as Emma Watson’s character Hermione Granger, and the British actor admitted to being a fan of the clip, which went viral earlier this year.
The British star quipped: “That is great. We need to remake the films as musicals.”
Daniel previously admitted he’ll never be in another film franchise that’s as successful as ‘Harry Potter’.
But the actor is pleased that his life has settled down over the last few years and he’s come to terms with his new reality.
Asked whether his fame has settled down since playing Potter for the final time, he said: “I think so. It took me a few years to work out my priorities.
“Now I pick things that I think will make me the most happy, and not try to think, ‘What’s gonna be the most successful thing I can do?’ You can be despondent about the fact that you’re never gonna be in something that big again, but that’s f***ing idiotic.
“I’ve been in the most successful thing I ever will be in, and to me it’s a huge relief. Because you just go, ‘Okay, that’s literally never gonna happen again.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian wants sister Kim to be the legal guardian of her daughter True.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star is keen for her 37-year-old sibling to become the guardian of her little girl – who she has with Tristan Thompson – if anything was to happen to her.
Speaking before the birth of True, she said: “So, I can’t make anything official until the baby is born, but I am going to probably have Kim as the legal guardian if God forbid something happens. Just because I don’t know my parenting style until I have a baby, but from what I envision my parenting style to be, I do feel it will be more like Kim. A little more stricter … Watching Kim be a mom, I really respect her parenting skills. Not that I don’t respect Kourtney’s. I really relate to how Kim parents more.”
And sister Kourtney admitted she was “a little bit disappointed” that Khloe didn’t ask her to be a guardian.
She shared: “I mean, I’m a little bit disappointed that I’m not the guardian, but honestly you don’t know what your parenting style is until you have kids. I think once Khloe has her own daughter and she is really a mom, then maybe she will realise that we have more in common then she thinks as far as parenting styles. You never know, Khloe might switch back to me.”
And during the frank talk on the family’s E! reality show, Khloe explained that she thought Kourtney – with three kids – was “at capacity”.
Kourtney said: “Guess what, you don’t have to give me an explanation. I’ve got three kids, and I’m busy on my own.”
To which Khloe replied: “You’re at capacity”. Kourtney then insisted she was “not at capacity” and admitted she wanted “one plus” more children.

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoë Kravitz wants to help “shift things in Hollywood” by speaking out about racism.
The 29-year-old actress feels it is important to use her fame to “speak her mind” so that Hollywood “can be more conscious” about race.
Speaking to the October issue of Harper’s BAZAAR magazine: “I’m not necessarily trying to point the finger at anyone. I just want to make these writers, most of whom are probably white, aware of the things that affect me and likely affect other people as well …
“I’m trying to speak my mind and shift things so Hollywood can be more conscious about things. My biggest pet peeve is when I read scripts that have character descriptions like ‘Stacy, 22, perky,’ then you get four pages in and see, ‘Sarah, 22, African-American,’ which makes it clear that everyone else is white. It was brave of her to go there. I don’t think her intention was to shake things up. It was actually her truth.”
Meanwhile, Zoë previously revealed she wants to “give a voice” to women undergoing sexual harassment who cannot speak up for themselves.
She said: “It is happening in every industry, women are being sexually harassed and being forced to take it because they are, say, single moms or immigrants. There are so many different kinds of situations where women are being forced to be quiet. For me, the idea of wearing black was to give a voice to those who didn’t have one at that moment. It was just a dress, but it represented more.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Teigen “doesn’t care” about looking good in a swimsuit anymore.
The 32-year-old model – who has Luna, two, and Miles, three months, with her husband John Legend – prefers being able to “eat things that she loves” rather than focus on her figure.
Speaking to Rita Braver for ‘Sunday’s Best: Celebrating 40 Years of CBS Sunday Morning’, she said: “I really prefer being happy and getting to eat things that I love, still wanting to be healthy. But I just don’t care about looking good in a swimsuit anymore. I guess that’s the only way to put it.”
Following two pregnancies and a battle with her health, Chrissy now has a completely different perspective on her body and no longer cares if she never puts on another bikini.
She added: “Honestly, I don’t ever have to be in a swimsuit again. Since I was 20 years old, I had this weight in my mind that I am, or that I’m supposed to be. I’ve been so used to that number for 10 years now. And then I started realising it was a swimsuit-model weight. There’s a very big difference between wanting to be that kind of fit and wanting to be happy-fit.”
Chrissy previously confessed she was “worried” about getting postpartum depression for a second time when she was expecting her son.
She said: “Do I worry about it with this little boy? I do. But I also know that when it does happen – if it does – I’m so ready for it. I have the perfect people around me for it. That’s why I stand for a real core group of people around me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Michael Caine inspired Tom Hanks to take up acting.
The 85-year-old actor admitted that Tom, 62, had previously told him that he decided to become an actor after watching his performance in the 1964 drama ‘Zulu’.
Speaking to Dave Berry on the ‘Absolute Radio Breakfast Show’, Michael recalled: “I was with him once … he said, ‘I became an actor when I saw you.’ I said ‘Why?’
“He said, ‘My dad took me in a drive-in theatre when I was a little boy to see ‘Zulu.’ He said, ‘And I saw you in ‘Zulu’ and I thought, ‘I’d like to do that’, so I became an actor.”
Earlier this month, Michael admitted he thinks Donald Trump is funny.
The veteran star has previously socialised with the American billionaire and while they’ve become more distant since Trump won the US Presidential election in 2016, Michael has always found him to be good company.
Michael shared: “I know him quite well. We went to dinner. He made me laugh.”
Despite Trump’s success in the business world, the London-born actor was still shocked to learn of his ambition to become the President.
Michael thinks America currently finds itself in the midst of a “strange” situation.
He explained: “When someone said he was running for president, I said: ‘President of what? Marks & Spencer?’ I’m sure he was quite surprised himself to become president.
“On one hand, he’s a danger and unpopular. But suddenly he’s become very successful: the stock markets are up, and employment, including the Spanish and blacks. The figures are starting to be on his side, so you wonder, you know, what the hell is going on?
“The point is that his people, they’ve never been represented politically and they are a majority. It’s very strange.”

The ‘Love Me Now’ hitmaker will join as season 16 as a new coach on the NBC show.
He said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to join the coaches of The Voice. I’ve been a guest and mentor on the show multiple times and I’m so excited to discover talented singers and help them make the most of their gift. I hope the world is ready for #TeamJL.”
Whilst Paul Telegdy, president of the alternative and reality group at NBC Entertainment, added: “John Legend is a one-of-a-kind musician and producer with remarkable skills that are beyond measure. John considers his projects carefully now he is a father to Luna, two, and Miles, three months.
He said: “We also make some decisions about how to budget our time based on the fact that we’re parents now, and there are some things that I would’ve said yes to before that I say no to now. And there are some choices that I’ll make now that I wouldn’t have made before.
“I’m excited that we’re in the position where we can bring [Luna] on tour so that’ll be fun. I’m in a position where we can make things happen to make sure she’s around us as much as possible. Diapers on the bus, a crib on the bus – a long way from my bachelor days.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry can’t wait to “reconnect” with family and friends.
The ‘Dark Horse’ hitmaker is excited to head back to Santa Barbara now she has wrapped up her ‘Witness’ tour.
She said: “I love going to Trader Joe’s and walking down each aisle to catch up on the products since I’ve been gone. I’ll literally be in there for two hours. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with family and friends in person rather than via text.”
And Katy can’t wait to chill out at home and has plans to relax and reorganise her sock drawer.
She added to People magazine: “I’d rather stay home and clean out my sock drawer than go to a party right now.”
Meanwhile, Katy recently revealed she wants to move into acting.
She said: “It’s time for me to live my life on my own schedule and terms, so that may look like doing some kind of other class, or like maybe I’d like to make a film in the future finally, doing a kind of separate thing … I would do a comedy. But it has to be in the vein of a Kristen Wiig or a Jenny Slate, super dry, a little bit of a dark comedy, like a ‘Bridesmaids’ girl, like number four.”
Katy suffered with “situational depression” last year when her album ‘Witness’ didn’t receive as positive a reception as she’d expected.
She said: “I had bouts of situational depression. My heart was broken last year because, unknowingly, I put so much validity in the reaction of the public, and the public didn’t react in the way I had expected to. Which broke my heart … Music is my first love and I think it was the universe saying, ‘OK, you speak all of this language about self-love and authenticity, but we are going to put you through another test and take away any kind of validating ‘blankie.’ Then we’ll see how much you do truly love yourself.’ That brokenness, plus me opening up to a greater, higher power and reconnecting with divinity, gave me a wholeness I never had.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William will fight poaching on his trip to Africa.
The 36-year-old royal will head to Namibia, Tanzania, and Kenya later this month and his focus of the trip will be “doing what he can to help end this terrible, global crime”.
Speaking in London for the Royal African Society, he said: “I first fell in love with Africa when I spent time in Kenya, Botswana and Tanzania as a teenager. I was captivated and have been hankering to get back as often as possible ever since. That is why, when you kindly asked me to become the patron of the Royal African Society last year, it was a pretty easy offer to accept.
“Like so many others, I am deeply saddened by the numbers of elephant, rhino and pangolin who have been illegally slaughtered for their tusks, horns and scales.But the illegal wildlife trade also has a devastating human impact.
“Too many brave rangers are tragically killed each year by poachers. Communities see their tourist livelihoods threatened. And the proceeds of the illegal wildlife trade fund broader criminal networks and threaten security. This is why I am committed to doing what I can to help end this terrible, global crime. This will be a particular focus of my upcoming visit to Africa, and of course the Conference on the Illegal Wildlife Trade taking place here in London in October.”
The Duke of Cambridge had previously insisted that Africa is facing “unprecedented challenges” from poaching and illegal wildlife trading.
He added: “Africa continues to face unprecedented challenges in terms of poaching, driven by the burgeoning illegal trade in wildlife.
“Sadly, all too often rangers are out-resourced and out-gunned. Most of them never imagined that they would need to lay down their lives to protect their country’s heritage. But that is the harsh reality.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber “can’t wait” to marry Hailey Baldwin.
The ‘As Long As You Love Me’ hitmaker was heard professing his love for Hailey at the Marriage Bureau in New York City, where marriage licenses are issued, TMZ reports.
He told her: “I can’t wait to marry you, baby.”
And Justin also told a court official: “Thanks for keeping it on the down low.”
Justin proposed to Hailey during a trip to the Bahamas last month, and later confirmed the news on Instagram in a sweet tribute post dedicated to the blonde beauty.
The ‘Love Yourself’ singer wrote: “Was gonna wait a while to say anything but word travels fast, listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindLY. She’s dreamed about this moment since she was a little girl, and now all her dreams are coming true. The fact she gets to walk down the aisle with Justin is more than she ever could have hoped for.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Thompson thinks it is “fantastic” that she’s turning 60 next year.
The ‘Children Act’ star love ageing but finds it “so annoying” that women don’t get offered more roles compared to men of the same age.
She told Vulture: “It’s so annoying to be female and consistently going, ‘Have I got to see a f***ing story again about a guy who does things that I’ve already seen a guy do a million times?’ So I’m bored. The difference now, as I get older, is that I’m released by my boredom. I no longer bother. I’m free to go and look for new ideas and new voices. I’m able with absolute comfort and ease to reject so much. It’s fantastic being this age. I’m old. We’re constantly watching films where older men have wonderful roles and older women really don’t. But I’m a character actor, don’t forget. If you’ve got form and you’re a character actor, you’re much better off because you’re not fighting the way you once looked.”
Meanwhile, Emma previously insisted she doesn’t think there are many good roles for “older” actresses and she jumped at the chance to nab the part as a female judge in ‘The Children Act’ because she was surprised by that the authoritative figure was a woman.
She said: “I’d never seen a story about a female judge, and I think in our patriarchal world, when you hear the word judge, you automatically think, ‘Oh, it’s a man.’ Men don’t have any problem with that. The 20-year-old model enjoys a simple movie and dinner date with the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star but leaves the planning to him because she doesn’t like the “stress”.
Asked what kind of dates she likes, she told E! News: “It depends. My God! It’s too much stress [to plan dates]. So much stress.”
Meanwhile, it was previously revealed Sofia is “helping” Scott “be a better person”.
A source said: “Everyone really likes her. They think she’s a great influence and Scott is so in love, so it’s not a problem. Sofia is helping Scott be a better, healthier person. An insider recently claimed Sofia is getting “fed up” with Scott.

Scott has been off the rails recently and is not in a good place. He goes in waves of partying really hard and then will have his good days and it’s just very toxic behaviour. It’s very up and down.
