Ariana Grande’s engagement tip: Don’t

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has urged her fans not to get engaged.
The ‘God is a Woman’ singer recently split from her fiance Pete Davidson – who proposed to her in April just four weeks after they started dating – and she sparked laughter with her input into the best way to choose an engagement ring.
Lifestyle blog The Zoe Report shared a post on Instagram which linked to their article on ’13 tips and tricks for finding the perfect engagement ring’ and Ariana was quick to comment.
She simply posted: “Don’t (sic)”
Shortly after the 25-year-old singer split from the ‘Saturday Night Live’ star, it was revealed she had returned the $93,000 pear-shaped diamond ring to Pete with “no struggle” and was “quick to fork it over”.
Pete previously admitted he had sent Ariana photos of engagement rings as soon as they met.
He said: “The day I met her, I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow.’ She was calling my bluff. I sent her a picture [of engagement rings]. I was like, ‘Do you like any of these?’ She was like, ‘Those are my favorite ones,’ and I was like, ‘Sick.’ ”
Meanwhile, the ‘Thank U, Next’ singer recently poked fun at the irony of her releasing her single ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ – which she penned in the wake of the terrorist attack that hit her concert in Manchester, North England, in May 2017 – only to then suffer further heartache with the end of her engagement and the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.
She tweeted: “Remember when i was like hey i have no tears left to cry and the universe was like HAAAAAAAAA bitch u thought (sic)”

Barbara Palvin’s post-show burgers

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbara Palvin binged on burgers after the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The 25-year-old model – who walked in the lingerie extravaganza on Thursday (08.11.18) for the first time in six years – was careful about what she ate in the weeks leading up to the show so was looking forward to indulging in her favourite fast food treats with boyfriend Dylan Sprouse when it was all over.
Speaking backstage before the event, she told People magazine: “He is bringing Shake Shack burgers for me.”
While she’s been on a strict diet, Barbara has been getting her food fix by watching clips of meals online and cooking for her boyfriend, who she started dating earlier this year.
She admitted: “We had a funny thing this morning because I was watching videos of food. That is what I do! I was like, ‘Yeah, dip it! Cut it! Eat it!’
“[Dylan] was like, ‘Babe? Are you ok?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, but it is just fried lasagne!’
“I cook for [Dylan]. So I watch him eat and I just drool.”
The brunette beauty admitted she felt pressure returning to the Victoria’s Secret runway so long after her debut catwalk appearance for the lingerie firm.
She said: “I feel a lot of pressure. When I was 19 and I did the show, I didn’t really understand how much pressure it is and how I should feel.
“But to be here now means so much because I did this. I worked my ass [off] and I am here. It is my big comeback.”
Dylan recently spoke of how “proud” he felt of his girlfriend for all the work she’d put into preparing for the show.
He said: “You know what, it’s hard to see like from these interviews and I guess just from the Instagram posts and stuff how hard she’s really worked to do this.
“So I think the best part for me is just knowing that like after all of that, it really paid off. So I’m excited to see the coalescence of all that work.”

Rachel Adedeji teases ‘dark side’ for Hollyoaks’ Lisa

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Adedeji says her ‘Hollyoaks’ character will go “to the dark side” in an upcoming storyline.
The 27-year-old singer-and-actress has revealed her alter-ego Lisa Loveday is set to be back to her manipulative best, which will see her choose guys over her own family members, much to the former ‘X Factor’ star’s disappointment.
She said: “All I can say is that Lisa’s very good at playing that manipulative person. Her family sort of fall for that again, because before she left she was always like that.
“She’s very good at not revealing too much, but then eventually it all unfolds and you do realise what really went down and again it’s a boy that’s involved. I won’t say too much but just watch out, she’s basically going to the dark side a little bit, and she does choose boys before her family which I don’t condone!”
Rachel – who departed ‘Oaks’ in December 2017 to go on maternity leave, and went on to give birth to daughter Lillian later that month – admits Lisa will be “up to no good” upon her return from Thailand, where she failed to “find herself”.
Speaking to promote ‘Hollyoaks’ new collaboration with Outfit to create the ultimate party edit, she added: “I had to go off and have a baby, but for storyline she went away to Thailand to find herself.
“Coming back, you’d expect drama to unfold a little bit, she’s up to no good, a boy’s
involved, it’s all very exciting and very Lisa.
“I don’t think she did much finding of herself in Thailand. I can’t wait for you to see.”
Rachel recently admitted she was anxious about returning to the soap following her maternity leave.
She said: “It hasn’t actually felt like I’ve left but it’s been amazing, everyone’s so welcoming as usual. Initially I was very nervous because I felt like a new girl again.
“I was like ‘I hope I know how to act’ because I’d been out of the game for a while, but it straight away comes back to you funnily enough. As soon as I get the heels on, the wig on, I’m like, ‘Yeah, she’s back baby!’ It’s amazing and I’m glad I came back when I did.”

Warwick Davis wants Small Talk chat show

OHMYGOSSIP — Warwick Davis wants his own chat show called ‘Small Talk’.
The ‘Harry Potter’ star – who is 3ft 6in tall – would love to turn his hand to hosting the TV programme, but he admitted he would like to turn the format on its head “a bit” to keep things fresh.
He’s quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “I would like to do a chat show-esque programme.
“I don’t mean sitting in the studio with guests, I want to flip it up a bit but would still chat to guests.
“‘Small Talk With Warwick Davis’, so I’ve got the name.”
The 48-year-old star – who has also appeared in the ‘Star Wars’ saga in a number of roles – has hit out at cruel online trolls while suggesting it would be a “very different story” if they weren’t hiding behind a keyboard.
He added: “As an actor it’s very difficult, you put yourself on the line with every project that you do and it isn’t fair when you take a battering on social media for a job that you were doing and that you did your best work in.
“I think people have got to understand that when you go into a movie or on a TV show you put yourself out there and if people could restrain themselves a little bit on the keyboard and think a little bit before they send that message, think about the people involved, because there is a person at the end of that.”
Last year, the comedian suggested another career path as she admitted he would love to join Simon Cowell on the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judging panel.
He previously said: ” think nurturing new talent is great. I would be very realistic but encouraging too – however bonkers some of the acts are.”

Esther Rantzen didn’t think she was ‘attractive enough’ for TV presenting

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Esther Rantzen didn’t think she would last a week as a TV presenter because she wasn’t “attractive enough”.
The 78-year-old star is celebrating 50 years of fronting TV shows – including ‘That’s Life!’ for 21 years – but she was convinced she wouldn’t be doing such a job for very long when she first started out because she didn’t have the cheekbones for the role.
She said: “I didn’t think for a minute I’d be presenting 50 years later. I sat next to my lovely friend John Pitman and we clutched each other’s knees.
“We were quite frightened and thought we’d be found out within five minutes and sent packing to our typewriters.
“We didn’t think for a minute we’d last a week, never mind a series or 50 years. I just didn’t think I had the cheekbones, I didn’t think I was nearly attractive enough.”
Esther claims she was “the ugly one” when she started out her TV career, and has recalled being turned down for an on-camera report in Belfast because her bosses were concerned about what she would wear.
She said: “I think it has been a fascinating time because when I started on television in 1968 there were only two other women – Joan Bakewell and Angela Huth.
“It was much harder then for women and I was the ugly one. So it was against the odds.
“Even when I was a researcher someone I was working for said I’d never make a producer because I was a woman.
“I asked permission to do some reporting from Belfast and the person running the programme said, ‘We can’t do that Esther because what would you wear?'”
Despite amassing 50 years on the TV, Esther admits she isn’t thinking about retiring anytime soon.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “My children are on at me all the time to retire. But the right moment never seems to come along.”
Earlier this week, Esther confirmed ‘That’s Life!’ will return to screens next year.
She said: “A friend of mine is having a go. We will see. ‘That’s Life!’ was a very particular programme which lasted for 21 years.
“It talked about injustices, washing machines that broke and showed you a talking dog at its funniest.”

EastEnders’ Dean Gaffney wants Robbie Jackson romance

OHMYGOSSIP — EastEnders’ Dean Gaffney wants Robbie Jackson to hook up with Honey Mitchell.
The 40-year-old actor is keen for his hapless alter-ego to find love again after he and ex-girlfriend Donna Yates (Lisa Hammond) split up over the summer, and he has set his sights on the Minute Mart employee (Emma Barton).
He said: “Honey is good, I think Honey’s a good character because she’s kind of ditzy, a bit like Robbie.
“It would work well, I think.
“He had a great time with Donna, obviously, and now she’s gone he’s kind of moping around the Square.
“It would be nice to get a bit of love back in his life.”
However, Robbie would face stiff competition from dentist Adam Bateman (Stephen Rahman-Hughes), who is currently with Honey.
As well as hoping Robbie and Honey get with each other, Dean “wishes” his on-screen half-sister Patsy Palmer (Bianca Jackson) would return to the soap following such speculation, but he insists he wouldn’t go back to ‘EastEnders’ if he was living Stateside.
He added to Express.co.uk: “I think she’s living in America at the moment, in Miami or wherever it is, having a great time. I wouldn’t want to come back if I was in Miami!”
This comes just weeks after Dean admitted he fears being axed by new ‘EastEnders’ boss Kate Oates.
He said: “I think everyone’s a little worried. You wouldn’t be human if you were not worried when your contract comes up for renewal.
“It’s squeaky bum time for every actor as no one is bigger than the show. The Queen Vic and Albert Square, they are the show.”

Robert Bathurst joins Dad’s Army remake

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Bathurst, Bernard Cribbins and Mat Horne will star in a remake of three lost ‘Dad’s Army’ episodes.
The ‘Cold Feet’ star is to take on the role of Sergeant Wilson when the hat-trick of eps are re-shot, with Bernard in line to be Private Godfrey, and Mat will also appear in the project.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, Kevin McNally will portray Captain Mainwaring, made famous by Arthur Lowe.
The trio of episodes, ‘The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Walker’, ‘Stripe For Frazer’ and ‘Under Fire’, were lost after they were recorded over.
They aired in series two of the nine-season sitcom, which was based on the hapless exploits of a British Home Guard during the Second World War.
In the original TV series – which ran from 1968 until 1977 – Wilson was portrayed by John Le Mesurier, who Robert played in BBC film ‘Hattie’, which told the story of the late actor’s ex-wife Hattie Jacques.
Last month, Gold boss Pete Thornton revealed the project was in the works.
He said: “We’ve been working on this project for several years and will be respecting the genius of the original series. If ever there was a time to ‘stick to the script’ then this is it.”
At the time, Sir David Jason was thought to be in line to play Captain Mainwaring, Hugh Laurie as Sgt Arthur Wilson and EastEnders’ Danny Dyer as Private Joe Walker.
Pete added: “The lost episodes are currently being cast, with an extensive hunt on to find the perfect candidates to take on the daunting task of bringing these much-loved comedy characters to life once more.”

Muse inspired by Black Mirror for new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Muse were inspired by ‘Black Mirror’ and virtual reality video games for their new album.
After taking a darker look at technology with their 2015 LP ‘Drones’, frontman Matt Bellamy has revealed the spark for their eighth record ‘Simulation Theory’ came from an unusual place.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “It’s a bit like Star Trek where you meet different people as an avatar.
“Even though you are a fantasy character, I found people were genuinely more pleasant to each other than they are on social media — VR gave me optimism to what the future could be in terms of social interaction. It’s actually going to bring us closer together.
“I had fun playing with someone from Australia, England and Germany without knowing them. At the end when everyone asked who we were, I said, ‘I’m a musician in a band called Muse’, one replied, ‘Oh my God, I’ve been flying a Starship Enterprise with Matt from Muse!’ It was a laugh.”
The 40-year-old rocker – who completed the lineup with Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard – revealed the new album has a much more positive stance than its predecessor.
He added: “I’ve deliberately tried to take the opposite view to look at how technology can be good and how we can embrace it.
“For ‘Drones’ we were wearing black all the time and it was very black and white in its heart. This is definitely more colourful in every way, including the artwork.”
Meanwhile, Muse will be taking to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London for a special Prince’s Trust charity show on December 3.
Matt previously said: “For a long time, we’ve admired the work of The Prince’s Trust.
“When we were starting out as a band the Trust actually gave us a small grant to buy our first PA system, which I still have to this day.
“It really helped set us up on the right road and we’re delighted to be able to play a show to raise funds for them.”

“Our biggest hits are what the majority of the fans want to hear when they come to our show because of the memories attached to them, but we always try never to settle.
“We want to make a concert that people want to see, pushing ourselves physically so the new songs in our concerts stand up alongside the favourites. We’re not just living in the past.”
Tickets for Backstreet Boys ‘DNA World Tour’ go on sale at 9am on November 16 from Live Nation.

Damon Albarn wishes he’d spoken out with his music before Brexit

OHMYGOSSIP — Damon Albarn wishes he’d got political with his music before Brexit.
The former Blur star – whose supergroup The Good, The Bad & The Queen will release its new album ‘Merrie Land’ this month – has admitted he is saddened by the divide in the UK after the results of the referendum for the country to leave the European Union.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, he explained: “If I’d had any idea that we were going to act as a people in the way that we have – prior and post – I would definitely have come back a lot earlier, if you know what I mean.
“As a person who loves their country, I would have expressed a very strong opinion. In public.”
Damon – who completes the band with The Clash’ Paul Simonon, The Verve’s Simon Tong and Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen – revealed his shock at the result was partly down to neglecting playing in certain areas of the country, including Blackpool where 67.5 percent of voters gave Brexit their backing.
He added: “The day after the referendum, I realised I was … guilty, in the sense of having looked in different directions.
“I’ve played the big towns in England, which is what you get drawn into. But I wanted to begin to understand how this abyss had opened up in the centre of our culture.
“And Blackpool, maybe from the time I’d been there with Blur, just fascinated me. It was partly about memory: those pictures of everyone dressed beautifully, hanging out on the sand. And the modern Blackpool. The hedonism.
“The families who look after the piers and are still trying to make a go of it. The tower, which is sturdy and magnificent. You also get into the anti-fracking campaign in the countryside not that far away. It’s just a whole musical terrain.”

And she went on to praise Bella for the way she “crushed” the fashion show.
She shared more photos of them together and wrote: “queen crushed today [lips emoji] @bellahadid #vsfashionshow (sic)”
Ahead of the show, the ‘Bad At Love’ hitmaker admitted she had “worked so hard” to get in shape for the event, for which she donned a sheer feathered skirt and white crop top, accessorised by feathered eyebrows, to perform a selection of her hits, including ‘Without Me’, while the models walked the runway.

Kendall Jenner got sauna from siblings

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendall Jenner’s siblings bought her an infrared sauna for her birthday.
The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star turned 23 last weekend and to celebrate, the brunette beauty’s favourite siblings splashed out on the cutting-edge non-invasive therapy suite, which can boost circulation, rejuvenate the skin, repair sun damage, lock in moisture, help with acne and remove toxins.
Kendall told Vogue.com: “My birthday was this weekend and my sisters actually got me an infrared sauna.
“I’ve gotten really big on LED light therapy after having a full body treatment recently. It’s such cool technology with [the] different light settings that benefit the skin internally.
“I’m putting it in my back yard and am super excited to have it at my house.”
Kendall credits her friends and family for giving her confidence, but admitted that, over the years, her own self-esteem has improved now she’s realised she doesn’t have to live up to other people’s expectations.
Speaking backstage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Thursday (08.11.18), she said: “The support I get from my friends and family, especially hearing from them before big moments like this, is amazing.
“But then there’s also the internal growth I’ve done over the years.
“I’ve realised that confidence doesn’t have to mean the same thing for everyone.
“For me, confidence is being happy, goofy, and smiley. That’s my form of sexiness. Now I know I don’t have to be something else and can go out in the world just being the best version of myself.”
Meanwhile, Kendall’s mother, Kris Jenner, felt “so proud” after watching her daughter walk the lingerie show.
She posted on Instagram: “Simply stunning! So proud watching Kendall walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2018 runway today! All of the Angels looked so beautiful.(sic)”

Carrie Underwood struggled to sing with stitches

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Underwood found it “physically impossible” to sing after she had stitches in her face.
The 35-year-old singer took a tumble outside her home last November, which left her with a broken wrist and 40 stitches to repair cuts on her face, and she admitted the treatment made it difficult to record vocals for her album ‘Cry Pretty’.
She told Vulture: “I felt like the differences were more in my head than they were in anybody else’s that would listen to the things I was doing. I had wanted to be in the studio sooner than I was, actually recording these songs, but I had stitches inside my mouth, outside my mouth. It was physically impossible.”
But the ‘Before He Cheats’ hitmaker – who is expecting her second child with husband Mike Fisher, the father of her three-year-old son Isaiah – admitted her producer, David Garcia, couldn’t hear the problems with her voice that she was worried about.
She said: “Going into the studio for the first time, it was a mind game: ‘Do I sound the same? Is my diction the same? Does my mouth move the same as it did before?
“I would sing something and then look at David and be like, ‘Did that all come out clearly?’ My m’s and b’s and p’s were kind of the issue. And he was like, ‘I thought it sounded great.’ ”
Carrie has now come to accept that her accident may have had an impact on her vocals and knows her voice will change with time anyway.
She said: “Things change just as you get older; muscles change. I kind of expect I’m not always going to sound like I’m 22 coming off of ‘American Idol’. Hopefully, I get better.”

She wrote on her Instagram Stories: “The real queen … mummy crane couldnt’ have got through this week without you (sic)”
Laura also shared a picture on Instagram of herself in her hospital bed, and added the caption: “DAY 10 in hospital and your girl has FINALLY been sent home, honestly it has been the worst week of my life .. when I fell ill last Tuesday with a temperature never did I think it was about to be a week as scary as it has been .
Being someone that never really gets ill, I never thought that something like this would happen to me, however, it has taught me how important it is to listen to your body because it can so quickly turn fatal if you don’t look for the vital signs.
It’s going to be a slow recovery, but I am so grateful to have had the people I had around me this week that spent countless hours in my hospital room wiping my tears and making sure I didn’t run away when I was told I had to stay day after day I will be forever grateful to the doctors and nurses that looked after me you are the true angels, the hours that you work and the jobs that you do are incredibly difficult and should get more recognition for what you do because you’re literally life savers THANKYOU
And to all of you that sent messages they did not go unnoticed I feel so blessed to have the support and love of you all.
I have learnt so much this week In so many ways I’ll be back stronger than ever (sic)”
Last week, it was confirmed Laura had been diagnosed with sepsis – a serious complication of an infection, also known as blood disease – which had “spread quite rapidly”.
Her representative said: “Laura is sadly quite unwell. She was rushed in on Tuesday and they quickly diagnosed sepsis.
“It’s taking time to control her temperature and rid her blood of the infection, but it had spread quite rapidly.
“A scary time for her and her family but we’re praying she makes a full recovery in the next couple of days.”
In September, Laura split from her boyfriend Jack Fowler, who she met on the ITV2 dating show.
She said: “Sadly Jack and I have both decided to go our separate ways due to such busy schedules right now and not having the time to spend together.
“Feel truly blessed to have got to share my Love Island experience with him and to have made a friend for life. We will carry on supporting each other on this journey and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.”

Letitia Wright set for Hold Back the Stars

OHMYGOSSIP — John Boyega and Letitia Wright are to star in ‘Hold Back the Stars.’
The pair are set to appear in the adaption of Katie Khan’s novel over the same name, which will be helmed by ‘I Origins’ film maker Mike Cahill directing a script by Christy Hall.
The book – and the upcoming movie version – tells the story of a man and woman who revisit memories of their love affair on a utopian Earth while they are tripped in the vast void of space with only 90 minutes of oxygen.
Cahill, 39, is taking on a new sci-fi adventure after having revealed that he likes the experience of getting to make otherworldly films.
He previously said: “I like filmmakers that try to touch upon the metaphysical, the things that are behind all this, that you can’t actually physically interact with, but are somehow intuitively there.”
There are high hopes for the success of the film due to the highly acclaimed cast and crew.
This year Letitia, 25, has received global acclaim for her portray of Shuri in ‘Black Panther’ and has also starred in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, both of which stand amongst the highest-grossing films of all time.
While John, 26, is best known for playing Finn in the seventh and eighth films of the ‘Star Wars’ series, he also received the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2016 and has appeared in films such as ‘Detroit’ and ‘Attack The Block’.
Cahill’s first feature film ‘Another Earth’ – which was about a parallel planet Earth – won the Alfred P. Sloan Prize at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and was picked up for distribution by Fox Searchlight Pictures.
He again won the same prize for his second feature film ‘I Origins’ at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival – making him the only person to win the award twice.

Cats star Ian McKellen will find ‘inner pussy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ian McKellen wants to find his “inner pussy” for his role in ‘Cats’.
The veteran actor will be taking on the part of Gus the Theatre Cat in the upcoming big screen adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved musical, and he joked he will embrace his “moggyiness” for his performance.
Appearing on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, he cheekily quipped: “I’m looking for the inner pussy – the ‘moggyiness’ that’s within us all…
“I’ve always wanted to be in a musical on stage so rather late in the day this is like a dream come true.”
The 79-year-old star also opened up about his ‘Ian McKellen on Stage’ tour, and explained he wanted to try stand up as another experience in a long and illustrious career.
He added: “I am beginning to wonder! Stand up is the greatest discipline so next year I am doing lots of one night stands. It’ll be busy and fun.”
Last month, it was confirmed that Dame Judi Dench – who was due play Grizabella in the original West End production in 1981, until she was forced to withdraw through injury – has joined the all star cast for ‘Cats’ as Old Deuteronomy.
Idris Elba looks set to play villain feline Macavity in the movie, and his alter-ego and his minions capture Deuteronomy in the musical, which is based on ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’ by T. S. Eliot.
Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, and Taylor Swift are also set to appear in the motion picture, which will be produced by Hooper, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Debra Hayward, while Steven Spielberg will be one of the executive producers of the project.
