OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Fonda found out her mother died from suicide from a movie magazine.
The ‘Monster-in-Law’ star thought her mum Frances Ford Seymour had passed away from a heart attack when she was 12 years old as that’s what her father Henry Fonda had told her at the time, but it wasn’t until she decided to write her memoir ‘My Life So Far’ in 2005 that she found out that she’d actually taken her own life in a mental institution as a result of her battle with bipolar disorder.
Speaking to People.com, the 80-year-old actress – who was able to access Frances’ medical records after her death – said: “When I wrote my memoir, I dedicated it to my mother because I knew that if I did…I would be forced to really try to figure her out. I never knew her because she suffered from bipolarity.
“When you go through that kind of research…if you can come to answers, which I was able to do, you end up being able to say, ‘It had nothing to do with me.’
“It wasn’t that I wasn’t loveable. They had issues. And the minute you know that, you can feel tremendous empathy for them. And you can forgive.”
However, although she no longer blames herself for her mother’s behaviour in the run-up to her death, Jane has been forever affected by the way she was treated.
She explained: “If you have a parent who is not capable of showing up, not capable of reflecting you back through eyes of love, it has a big impact on your sense of self. As a child, you always think it was your fault…because the child can’t blame the adult, because they depend on the adult for survival.
“It takes a long time to get over the guilt.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Mason doesn’t want his new band Saucerful of Secrets to get “too big”.
The Pink Floyd drummer is currently on tour performing the iconic progressive rock band’s records ‘A Saucerful of Secrets’ and ‘The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’, which featured the group’s late singer-and-guitarist, Syd Barrett – who died of cancer in 2006 at the age of 60 – and he’s admitted he’s “concerned” they could get too popular and “risk” becoming a commodity rather than a fun project.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, he admitted: “I’m concerned it doesn’t become too big.
“You don’t want it to get to the stage where the improvisation has to go out of the window because there’s too many people there and it seems like a risk.”
The new band features Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Lee Harris and Dom Beken, and the rest of Pink Floyd have been supportive of the project, though bassist Guy says he doubts surviving member David Gilmour would fancy coming down to watch one of their shows
He said: “I’m fairly certain that the last thing David Gilmour wants to do with his evening is stand in the back room of a pub in Putney surrounded by 300 obsessive Pink Floyd fans.”
Nick hadn’t realised just how ahead of his time Syd was when writing the songs on their earlier records, and when he listened back to 1972’s ‘Obscured By Clouds’ – which was written by himself and the group’s co-founder and former member Roger Waters – again he was amazed at how “modern” it sounded.
He said: “I hadn’t really examined these songs in 40-something years. It was a real eye-opener.
“Syd’s way of working and his writing, and some of the other things we did, you just think, ‘God, this has got such a modern feel to it.’
‘Obscured By Clouds’! You could take that to Ibiza.”
Before their debut concert at Dingwalls in London in May, Nick hadn’t played live since Pink Floyd’s Live 8 appearance in London 13 years ago.
The recent shows were also Nick’s first live musical tour since he and David went on Pink Floyd’s ‘Division Bell Tour’ in 1994.
The Saucerful of Secrets continue their tour at London’s Roundhouse in Camden on September 24.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emilia Clarke has got three dragons tattooed on her wrist.
The 31-year-old actress was left devastated two months ago when the HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’ wrapped up for good, but she’s since decided to get a permanent etching of her “babies” Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion to mark her time playing Daenerys Targaryen in the show from 2011 until 2018.
Taking to her Instagram account, the brunette beauty uploaded a photograph of her new body art and captioned it: “MOD 4 LYFE!!!!@_dr_woo_ made sure this mamma ain’t NEVER forgetting her babies…. #dontworryionlybrieflypassedout
#withfyreandinkbaby #modgothookedupp #couldntbehappierifitried (sic)”
Emilia recently admitted that she had an “existential crisis” when she shot her final scene for the drama and she and the rest of the cast couldn’t stop sobbing.
She said: “It’s bittersweet, we’ve all done a lot of crying. There’s been a lot of crying on set … Existential crisis, like, legit, where you’re like, ‘What?’ ”
A few months ago, the actress paid one last visit to the set as she posed for a photograph against some flowers and reminisced on her time on the show.
She wrote at the time: “Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade.
“It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing #lastseasonitis (sic)”
Emilia has starred as the mother of dragons since the show’s first episode in 2011, and will be seen on-screen in the role for the last time – alongside co-stars Kit Harington, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, and Peter Dinklage – next year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie J. Robb would love to see Adam Thomas back on ‘Emmerdale’.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress is keen for her character Moira Dingle’s son Adam Barton (Thomas) to head back to the Dales to mix things up in the village following the arrival of Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), who was previously known as her daughter Hannah Barton (Grace Cassidy).
When asked if she would like Adam to return to put a “spanner in the works”, she said: “Of course I would.”
Natalie has remained pals with Adam following his ‘Emmerdale’ exit, but admitted his return to the soap doesn’t look likely anytime soon after he and wife Caroline Thomas welcomed a daughter, Elsie-Rose, into the world in May.
She added: “What would the show be without spanners? I love Adam to bits, but we’re always in touch, we always make sure he’s OK, but he’s just had another little girl so I think his priorities are somewhere else at the moment.”
What’s more, Adam has landed his first major role since departing the Dales – by signing up to star in new BBC drama ‘Pitching In’.
A post on Creative Artists Management (CAM) Twitter account read: “We can’t wait for the new @BBC family drama #PitchingIn! Congratulations to @adamthomas21 who will be on our screens next Spring to show us what a family will do to make the best of a very unusual situation! @bexelliff (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Lytton “never really thought” she would return to ‘EastEnders’ – but she got into the mood by playing Kaiser Chiefs’ hit ‘Ruby’.
The 29-year-old actress has reprised her role as Ruby Allen on the BBC One soap after 12 years away, and admitted she is looking forward to seeing where her alter-ego’s “life goes” following her shock comeback.
She said: “It’s been 12 years and it’s something I never really thought I would go back and do. It’s interesting to see what she’s become, who she’s become and what’s going to happen next with her. Just to see where her life goes.
“I played that Kaiser Chiefs track at home a few times and then I was back.”
Louisa will be involved in a huge storyline in the coming weeks when Ruby is raped as ‘EastEnders’ look to cover the subject of consent – and the former ‘The Bill’ star admits the plot will split the audience.
She said: “Ruby goes on a night out and gets raped in the first few weeks of her return, so I’ve gone back for quite a massive storyline.
“But initially it’s to see her old mate Stacey, who she casually hasn’t seen for 12 years and thinks she’ll throw a text at.
“It’s very important. ‘EastEnders’ has such a diverse audience. They’ve just covered the massive knife crime storyline, and this is more of a consent storyline, showing that it’s not really a grey area.
“I’m working with Rape Crisis, I’m pretty much in contact with them every day. They oversee every script. They’ve been brilliant.
“I think it will really split the audience, their views on consent and what happens to her.”
Louisa – who previously played Ruby between 2005 and 2006 – has slotted right back into life on Albert Square, and was even given her old dressing room on the set.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1Xtra, she added: “For years people were like, ‘Are you going to go back? What happened to your character? Is she dead?’ And from nowhere I get a phone call saying, ‘Do you want to come back?’
“I went back and the same woman is on reception, the building is the same, I was given my old dressing room. It’s like going back in time.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Allen says winning the 2018 Hyundai Mercury Prize would help change her “caricature image”.
The 33-year-old singer recently unleashed her saucy secrets in her tell-all memoir ‘My Thoughts Exactly’ – which details her alleged romp on a plane with ex-Oasis star Liam Gallagher, kissing Zoe Kravitz and almost getting it on with Orlando Bloom – but she says winning the prestigious accolade would allow people to see her for the artist she truly is and take her music more seriously.
In an interview with Sky News, she said: “There is a caricature version of myself which is portrayed in the mainstream press, and the artist part of me gets lost a lot of the time.
“Already being nominated has helped with that immensely, but to win would just be amazing.”
The ‘Smile’ hitmaker also admitted she felt like “a massive failure” following the release of her third studio LP ‘Sheezus’.
She said: “When things started not to go to plan with my third album, I felt like a massive failure – not just for myself, but that I’d let everybody else around me down. That was a real struggle.”
Lily is nominated for her fourth LP ‘No Shame’ – which was made whilst she was going through her split from ex-husband Sam Cooper, with whom she has six-year-old Ethel and five-year-old Marnie – and her aim was to set the record straight and find out what she wants out of her career.
She explained: “This album has been about figuring out what my intentions are with this work.
“It wasn’t really to get on the radio or brand endorsements.
“It was about explaining how I felt and putting that to music and I feel like I’ve achieved that.”
Lily’s record is up against the likes of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ ‘Who Built The Moon?’, Florence + The Machine’s ‘High as Hope’ and Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’.
If Lily wins the £25,000 prize money at the ceremony at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo tonight (20.09.18), she previously said she would like to put it in her “post-Brexit marketing” bank account.
She said: “I’d put it into my post-Brexit marketing account. Probably to pay for Visa applications come April next year.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Andre’s wife “melts” at the thought of having another baby with him.
The ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker already has Amelia, four, and 22-month-old son Theodore with his wife Emily MacDonagh but he has admitted the qualified doctor would love to add to their brood in the future because she’s such a “good mum.”
Speaking to OK! magazine, the 45-year-old reality TV star said: “Emily does melt at the thought of having another child. She’s such a good mum.
“When we’re all here in the house there are so many joyous moments, so it might be nice to add another child into the mix.”
The 29-year-old brunette beauty is also a step mother to Pete’s other children Junior, 13, and Princess, 11, whom he has with his ex-wife Katie Price, and they adore her because she’s very “hands on” and is “practical” with them.
He explained: “Emily’s a great mum and a great step mum. She’s a very calming influence on everyone. We have a harmonious home. Look, nothing’s perfect and there are tough times in life, but it’s how you deal with it that counts. Things can be pretty hardcore but you just have to deal with things…
“Emily’s unbelievable. All the kids are at different ages and stages and ask different questions. She’s really good at answering questions from a medical point of view, whereas I might find some questions tricky. It’s so funny, J and P actually call her Mary Poppins! ! Emily did all the orders for their uniforms and she got her tape measure out and did all the children’s measurements.
“She’s awesome, she puts all the labels in their clothes – she’s very practical, but I took them to try clothes on and that was a fun day. We’re very hands-on.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Timbaland has accused a man who used to rent his mansion of stealing his mail.
The 46-year-old music producer – whose real name is Timothy Zachary Mosley – filed a court report last week claiming that William Zamora had been “breaking through the gate” of his plush abode and “stealing mail from the home.”
Timbaland has no proof that William has been carrying out the crime, but he has stated that the police suspect him to be responsible because “no one else would have a reason to seek to recover mail from the home” except the prior tenant.
The ‘Give It To Me’ hitmaker has been locked in a legal battle with William for a while now as, according to The Blast, the producer sold the property to him and agreed to let him live there until the deal was finalised and funds had been paid.
However, the funds never cleared, but William refused to leave the premises.
Timbaland had no choice but to sue the squatter and the judge sided with him, meaning that William had to vacate the property immediately.
However, when he left, he allegedly caused $100,000 worth of damage to the mansion and stole $100,000 worth of Timbaland’s personal possessions.
In the court documents, the producer claimed TVs, mattresses, nightstands, bed frames, bar stools, dishes, glasses, pot, pans, chairs, tables, gym equipment and various other items had been snatched.
He also said his ‘Street Fighter’ arcade game had been broken, walls had been smashed, ceilings had been cracked, carpet had big stains on them, his zebra rug had been damaged and there were bees living in the attic,
Despite the extent of the damage, the music producer managed to repair all of the issues quickly and put the mansion back on the market for $2.99 million.

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian chose Kim Kardashian West to be her daughter True’s godmother because she’s “so secure in her life.”
The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star couldn’t decide between her two older siblings Kim and Kourtney who would be the best religious guardian of her now-five-month-old daughter but ultimately settled on the 37-year-old businesswoman because she loves the way she raises her three children – North, five, Saint, two, and Chicago, nine months – with her husband Kanye West.
Speaking in Sunday (16.09.18) night’s episode of the family’s reality TV show, Khloe – who was still pregnant at this point – said: “I am a huge planner, I love to be prepared. That’s just how I am.
“I always thought Kourtney would be the godparent of my child, but lately I’ve been watching Kimberly and she’s been someone that I really gravitate to as a mom. So it’s a tough choice between Kourtney and Kim.”
However, Kourtney – who has three children Mason, eight, Penelope, six, and Reign, three, with her ex-partner Scott Disick – was upset about Khloe’s decision.
The 39-year-old beauty said: “I don’t know why this even something Khloé has to think about. My passion is my kids and my family and we’re always doing fun things and traveling. The kids have a sense of freedom but we also have boundaries, so I’m obviously the best choice.”
But Khloe, 34, felt closer to Kim when she was pregnant.
She said: “I feel like Kim has been so selfless during my pregnancy. She’s trying to just help make sure that you feel your best, look your best, have the best. She’s so secure in her life that I feel like she would be an incredible godparent. She’s just been a great friend and sister … I have thought this over long and hard and I’ve decided what I want to do. I just have to make the best decision for my daughter but I also am not trying to hurt anybody’s feelings.
“Watching Kimberly be a mom, I really respect her parenting skills — not that I don’t respect Kourtney’s, I relate to how Kim parents more.
“But at the end of the day, this family is so close and we love each other so much and if anything, God forbid, were to happen, I know my daughter is in the best of hands no matter who her legal guardian is.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wendi Peters would “consider” a ‘Coronation Street’ return.
The 50-year-old star portrayed Cilla Battersby-Brown from 2003 to 2007 before returning again in 2014 for a three-week stint, and Wendi has admitted she would head back to the cobbles for another run if ‘Corrie’ scriptwriters have a good storyline idea.
She said: “I love the variety of theatre but never say never to returning. I went back in 2014 for a short time and would consider it again if the storyline was right.”
Wendi loved portraying Cilla, and enjoyed her being a character ‘Corrie’ viewers “loved to hate”.
She added to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “Cilla was such a popular character, which is crazy because she was so in your face. People just loved to hate her.”
Wendi’s comments come after she dropped another potential ‘Corrie’ return hint on Sunday (16.09.18) by posting a throwback of her last appearance in Weatherfield, sharing a snap of herself on set alongside Lisa George (Beth Tinker).
She tweeted: “Blimey .. 4 years since I was back on the cobbles for a bit. Time does fly .. #corrie #cilla (sic)”
In April, Jennie McAlpine (Fiz Stape) hinted Wendi could make a ‘Corrie’ comeback as part of her upcoming exit storyline.
She said: “I went to see Cilla, so she could rear her, not so ugly, head again? She could, who knows? Unless Fiz gets pregnant – who knows?”
Jennie is set to depart Weatherfield when she goes on maternity leave in the coming months, and she revealed Maureen Lipman – who has joined the cast as Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) grandmother Evelyn Plummer – will be “very involved” in Fiz’s departure plot.
She said: “I’ve got a couple of weeks left filming with the brilliant Maureen.
“She’s going to take Fiz’s place while I’m gone.
“Evelyn is very involved [with Fiz’s exit storyline].
“She’s not impressed with our family set up. She’s not impressed with Fiz as a wife and mother. It doesn’t go very well for the next few weeks, then the family things get a bit … yeah.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Ann Matthews has urged ‘Emmerdale’ bosses to bring back Mathew Bose and Hayley Tamaddon.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star would love to see her pal Mathew – who played Paul Lambert on an off from 2004 to 2015 – back on the rival ITV soap, and she has also supported calls for Hayley to reprise her role as Del Dingle in the Dales.
She tweeted: “Absolutely @emmerdale should bring back @mathewbose! x (sic)
Sally has warned show bosses she will send them a “death glare” if they do not sign Mathew back up for the soap.
She wrote on Twitter: “Woe betide you if you let me down …. x
“You know your stuff. I’ll death glare them if @emmerdale don’t see sense x (sic)”
In response to a fan who called for Mathew and Hayley to return to the soap, Sally wrote: “That’s my Christmas present right there @emmerdale!! (RT the fudge out of all of this tweeps. Ta) x (sic)”
Nicola Wheeler, who plays Paul’s half-sister Nicola King on the show, also joined the social media campaign to get Mathew back on the soap, admitting she “concurs” with Sally.
Sally – who plays Jenny Bradley in ‘Corrie’ – then wrote: “I double, triple, quadruple concur @emmerdale! He’s her brother and as a loyal viewer I NEED to see that story!!!!! x (sic)”
The 47-year-old star’s comments come after TV presenter Lorraine Kelly suggested the “ridiculously handsome” Mathew – who initially played Paul from 2004 to 2009 – should be welcomed back to the soap “with open arms”.
She wrote: “I’m sure you recall Emmerdale’s Paul Lambert, who made a huge impact during his five years in the Dales.
“Paul was played by the ridiculously handsome Mathew Bose, who must have a painting in the attic because he hasn’t aged a day since leaving school.
“Surely his return is long overdue. His family are still in ‘Emmerdale’, including dad Rodney Blackstock, auntie Diane Sugden and his half-sisters. There are lots of layers to Paul, too.
“His alter-ego is drag queen Thelma Louise, while he and his boyfriend Jonny were the first characters in a primetime drama to have a civil partnership, back in 2008.
“Surely such an interesting character should be welcomed back to ‘Emmerdale’ with open arms.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Nolan reportedly isn’t happy with the way his films appear on television.
The ‘Dunkirk’ filmmaker – who has also made the likes of ‘Interstellar’ and ‘Inception’ – is said to have pushed for change in the industry in a survey sent to his contemporaries.
As reported by Slash Film, a message penned by Nolan and fellow director Jonathan Mostow – both co-chairs of the DGA’s Creative Rights Committee – revealed they have approached television manufacturers to address the issue.
Alongside the letter, it’s said there was a survey to help create a “reference mode” to make sure viewers see films as they were originally intended.
The note – signed by the pair – read: “Many of you have seen your work appear on television screens looking different from the way you actually finished it.
“Modern televisions have extraordinary technical capabilities, and it is important that we harness these new technologies to ensure that the home viewer sees our work presented as closely as possible to our original creative intentions.
“To this end, Christopher Nolan and Paul Thomas Anderson reached out, via the studio UHD Alliance, to television manufacturers.
“By starting a dialogue with the manufacturers themselves we hope to try and give directors a voice in how the technical standards of our work can be maintained in the home.”
Nolan’s efforts come after he recently revealed he thought he was perfectly suited to the Batman franchise.
The 47-year-old filmmaker – who is married to Emma Thomas – helmed the ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy, and he has admitted to being better suited to Batman than a heightened comic book movie.
Asked about his experiences of working on Batman, he previously confessed: “It’s a superhero, but it’s based on ideas of guilt, fear, these strong impulses that the character has. Bruce Wayne doesn’t have any super powers other than extraordinary wealth.
“But really, he’s just someone who does a lot of push-ups. In that sense, he’s very relatable and human. I think that’s why I gravitated towards it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ featured a lot of scenes created by original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
The pair were given the boot as Ron Howard took over the science fiction saga spin-off, and co-writer Jon Kasdan has revealed how they still influenced what fans saw on the big screen.
In tweets revealing facts from the film’s development and production, he noted that four scenes from the duo – who left midway through production because of creative differences – were kept.
The opening landspeeder chase though Corellia, Han Solo’s first meeting with Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian’s droid companion L3 were all created by Lord and Miller before their departure from the project.
Kasdan also discussed Han and Qi’ra’s kiss on board the Millennium Falcon, which mirrored his later relationship with Princess Leia in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’.
He wrote: “We liked the idea of seeing Han in a similar situation, with a similar type of banter, but a very different partner, one who maybe teaches him a thing or two/
“The relationship between Han and Qi’ra was never intended to be concluded at the end of this movie. It’s a story I hope we get to tell more of someday ’cause I like their diverging paths.”
He also addressed the film’s disappointing return at the box office, after it crossed $392.9 million globally with a budget of £250 million.
He argued: “To be honest, I think the challenge has much more to do with the foreign box office than the U.S.
“Personally I think there are great ‘Star Wars’ movies to be made that don’t need to cost quite so much.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue, Boyzone and Rick Astley are set to perform at the ‘Magic of Christmas with Nativity Rocks!’ event.
The ‘Golden’ singer, Irish boyband and ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ hitmaker are the first acts announced for the forthcoming festive extravaganza held at London’s Palladium on November 25.
Kylie, 50, is excited to join the line-up, and has asked fellow performers to go all out with their Christmas outfits for the show.
She said: “I can’t wait. What are we wearing?! I’m very excited to be joining everyone for this special show.
“So excited to see everybody, we want Christmas sweaters, we want Christmas hats, we want dress up!”
Whilst Magic Breakfast’s Ronan Keating, 41, revealed he’ll be bringing his bandmates – Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham – along, which means they will no doubt perform songs from their seventh and last LP ‘Thank You & Goodnight’, which is released on November 16.
Ronan added: “The Magic of Christmas is exactly as the name describes – a truly magical event celebrating the most wonderful time of the year.
“I’m so happy to not only host the concert with Harriet again this year, but to be able to perform with the Boyzone lads too.”
‘Nativity Rocks!’ is the fourth instalment of the ‘Nativity’ family movie franchise released in cinemas nationwide on November 23.
More acts are set to be announced in the coming weeks.

The tiny gig will act as a warm-up show as ALMA is set to support Halsey on her ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom World Tour’ shows on September 22 and September 23 at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo.
Meanwhile, ALMA recently postponed her US tour dates to focus on her album.
The singer will only be performing in Brooklyn, New York, on October 5 and Los Angeles on October 18, as she requires more time to get her new songs for her debut record just right.
This means concert-goers who were expecting to see the star in the US that month will have to wait a little while longer, but she reassured them it will be worth the wait and she will be announcing new dates “soon”.
In a note to fans, she wrote on Instagram: “Hey I’m so excited to share new music with you soon … I’m deep in making the new album right now and hope you’re really going to love it.
“It needs a bit more time than expected and because of that I am sad to say I’m having to postpone some of my US tour dates.
NY and LA I’ll still be seeing you as planned but need to be in the studio as much as possible the rest of the month.
“We’ll be announcing some new dates soon, thank you so much for being partient and coolest people in the world love you guys (sic)”
The 22-year-old star – who has worked with the likes of Charli XCX and Tove Lo – placed fifth in the 7th season of the Finnish version of ‘Idol’ in 2013. The singer-and-songwriter shot to fame featuring on rapper French Montana’s song ‘Phases’ last year.
ALMA has released three mixtapes so far, this year’s ‘Heavy Rules Mixtape’ and 2016’s ‘Dye My Hair’ and ‘Karma (Remixes)’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Grohl performed ‘In Bloom’ for the second only time since Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994 on Saturday (15.09.18).
The band’s drummer took to the stage with Trombone Shorty at Voodoo Threauxdown Festival in Los Angeles for a rendition of the track from the grunge band’s seminal 1991 LP ‘Nevermind’.
The last time the Foo Fighters frontman played the song was when the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
The likes of Lorde, Joan Jett, Kim Gordon and St. Vincent joined forces for the special performance.
Speaking previously on why he struggles playing Nirvana songs live since his late bandmate and pal’s passing, Dave explained earlier this year: “For years I couldn’t even listen to any music, let alone a Nirvana song.
“When Kurt died, every time the radio came on, it broke my heart.
“I don’t put Nirvana records on, no. Although they are always on somewhere. I get in the car, they’re on. I go into a shop, they’re on. For me, it’s so personal.
“I remember everything about those records; I remember the shorts I was wearing when we recorded them or that it snowed that day. Still, I go back and find new meanings to Kurt’s lyrics.”
The 49-year-old rocker says that listening to Nirvana songs since Kurt’s death has made him realise what the ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ songwriter was going through, which is upsetting.
He added: “Not to seem revisionist, but there are times when it hits me. You go, ‘Wow, I didn’t realise he was feeling that way at the time’.
“Nirvana, for me, was a personal revolution, I was 21. You remember being 21? You think you know it all. But you don’t. I thought I knew everything. And being in Nirvana showed me how little I really knew.
“They were some of the greatest highs of my life, but also, of course, one of the biggest lows.”
Kurt took his own life aged just 27 in April, 1994.
