Jodie Whittaker thinks female Doctor Who shouldn’t be a surprise

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Whittaker says it’s “depressing” that ‘Doctor Who’ has only become a woman in 2018.
The 36-year-old actress will become the first female star to take on the iconic role of the Time Lord, and while she’s proud of being part of a significant change, she doesn’t like it being such a big deal.
Speaking to Stylist magazine, she said: “It’s a moment that’s incredibly important, but also slightly depressing that it’s 2018.
“I want to enjoy it. I mean what a thing, for the rest of my life, for that to be me. But this has got to be the end of it being a big surprise.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Broadchurch’ star added that she hopes it marks a shift where people realise “we can have female heroes”, pointing to the success of Sandra Bullock’s ‘Gravity’.
She added: “[I’m] playing an alien… Let’s not limit ourselves to only looking up to people who look like us…
“That’s the future we want. And to realise that having different points of view in a situation is interesting and exciting, not terrifying. And mine isn’t that different. I sometimes feel like being a woman is like talking about being an alien.”
Her comments about female characters come after Jodie threw her support behind the idea of a woman playing James Bond.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she explained: “For us it’s 2018. Women are not a genre, we are just the other half of the population, so to see us doing things shouldn’t be such a surprise.”

Dermot O’Leary: X Factor is ‘like a creche’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dermot O’Leary says ‘The X Factor’ is “like a creche”.
The talent show host has opened up on the new series, which features proud dad Simon Cowell – who has four-year-old Eric with partner Lauren Silverman – alongside Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field, who have three children together.
Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, Dermot joked: “I’ve just got back from one of the judges houses… and I don’t know what I’m allowed to say.
“The new line up is terrific. It feels like you’re walking into a creche with all the kids now which is lovely… Robbie is just a born judge!”
The ‘Angels’ hitmaker – who has Teddy, five, and Charlton, three, with Ayda – welcomed third child Colette ‘Coco’ Williams into the world earlier this month, and Dermot has praised the couple for settling into the panel, which is completed by Louis Tomlinson.
He explained: “He’s very emotionally intelligent and gets people very quickly. Ayda helps manage him! And I think she’ll be a really good mentor and she knows she’s got a point to prove so she’ll really bust a gut.
“Louis has been terrific – there’s no substitute with someone who’s been there and done it. Up to this point they are all pally pally… and then we get to studio and all that teamwork goes out the window!”
Meanwhile, Dermot also hinted that competition could be tough this year, especially in the girls category.
Without spoiling too much, he teased: “The girls are really good this year.”

Andrea Bocelli recruits Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran for new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrea Bocelli has recruited Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Josh Groban and his son Matteo for his new LP ‘Si’.
The Italian singer – who received the Classic BRIT Icon Award this year – wanted to start a new chapter and channel his youth on his first record in 14 years, and so he’s teamed up with some of the hottest pop stars in the world – plus his own blood and singer/actor Josh Groban.
He said: “I wanted to go back to my memories of being a young man, playing at a piano bar. Obviously since then, I’ve produced lots of albums, sung lots of covers, performed many other things.
“But at a certain point I said to myself: ‘Maybe the time has come to put my effort into finding new songs.’
“Like starting all over again, as it were, in my career.”
‘New Rules’ hitmaker Dua, 23, features on the crossover track ‘If Only’, whilst Ed – who previously teamed up with Andrea on ‘Perfect Symphony’ – co-wrote ‘Amo Soltanto Te’ with lyrics by Tiziano Ferro.
Andrea duets with Matteo, 20, on ‘Fall On Me’ from the forthcoming Disney film ‘The Nutcracker and The Four Realms’.
The 59-year-old star – who also has six-year-old Virginia with current wife Veronica and 23-year-old Amos with Matteo’s mother Enrica – says whilst his son’s voice sounds nothing like his, the “attitude” and the way he expresses himself is exactly the same.
He said: “Technically they are very different, but there is one thing that makes them most similar: the attitude. That characteristic way of expressing yourself through your voice.
“This makes Matteo and I very similar. But that is something that you cannot learn, that cannot be taught. That is something you are born with.”
‘Si’ is released on October 26.
The tracklisting for ‘Si’ is as follows:
1. Ali di Libertà
2. Amo Soltanto Te – feat. Ed Sheeran
3. Un’Anima
4. If Only – feat. Dua Lipa

Machine Gun Kelly: Eminem misfired on Killshot

OHMYGOSSIP — Machine Gun Kelly thinks Eminem misfired on his comeback diss track ‘Killshot’.
The rappers have been locked in a feud ever since the latter hit out at the ‘Bad Things’ hitmaker on the track ‘Not Alike’ on his surprise LP ‘Kamikaze’ last month, and showing no signs of backing down, Kelly took to Instagram on Monday (17.09.18) to slam the song.
On ‘Killshot’, the 45-year-old hip-hop star raps: “But I’m 45 and I’m still outselling you / By 29 I had three albums that had blew / Now let’s talk about somethin’ I don’t really do / Go in someone’s daughter’s mouth stealin’ food (sic)”
And in reaction, Kelly, 28, posted a picture of himself on stage on Instagram, and wrote: “he missed. #legshot #rapdevilstillNUMBERONE #letstalkaboutit (sic)”
The song was a response to Kelly’s track ‘Rap Devil’, which includes the line: “Took you six years and a surprise album just to come with a diss
Homie we get it, we know that you’re the greatest rapper alive (sic)”
Eminem recently admitted he first dissed Kelly because he accused him of hindering his career.
The ‘River’ rapper explained that he released ‘Not Alike’, which includes the line, “Now you wanna come and f**k with me, huh? / This little c**k-sucker, he must be feeling himself”, after his rival rapped about banning him from his radio station ‘Shade 45’ and claimed he was trying to meddle with his success.
However, he insisted that he’s not interested in the Kelly’s career, whilst he added fuel to the fire by saying there are “better” rappers out there than him.
In the second part of his YouTube interview with musician Sway, the ‘Without Me’ hitmaker explained: “The reason that I dissed him is because he got on – first he said, ‘I’m the greatest rapper alive since my favourite rapper banned me from ‘Shade 45,’ or whatever he said, right? Like I’m trying to hinder his career.
“I don’t give a f**k about your career. You think I actually f***in’ think about you? You know how many f***in’ rappers that are better than you? You’re not even in the f***in’ conversation.”
However, in the same interview he did admit that he thought ‘Red Devil’ was quite good, saying: “It wasn’t bad for him. He’s got some good lines in it.”
Eminem previously admitted his beef with Kelly isn’t about him calling his daughter Hailie “hot as f**k” in 2012.
He teased that his problem with the young star is “a lot more petty” than anything he’s ever said about the 22-year-old beauty on Twitter, after he hit back with ‘Not Alike’.
He explained: “You know you go down the wormhole of YouTube and whatever, right?
“So I see, ‘Machine Gun Kelly talks about Eminem’s daughter’ or whatever, right? So I’m like, ‘What the f***?’ I clicked on it. Then he starts doing a press run, basically, about Hailie. I’m like, ‘What the f***? Yo, my man better chill.’
“So, that’s not why I dissed him. The reason I dissed him is actually a lot more petty than that. Now I’m in this f***in’ weird thing, because I’m like, ‘I’ve got to answer this motherf***er.'”

Amber Rose’s engagement ring is ‘stolen’

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Rose thinks her engagement ring has been stolen.
The 34-year-old model has been forced to involve the police after she discovered that the glitzy piece of bling her ex-partner Wiz Khalifa gave her more than six years ago when they were dating is no longer in her wardrobe at her home.
According to TMZ, Amber filed a police report last week with the Los Angeles Police Department when she went rummaging through her bedroom storage to find an unrelated item when she realised the ring was no where to be seen.
Amber has claimed the last time she laid eyes on the piece of jewellery – listed as being worth $150,000 – was last month but she’s unable to give an accurate date on when it went missing because she always has staff coming in and out.
The blonde beauty is understandably upset as she has reportedly told the police that she was keeping the ring to give her and Wiz’s son Sebastian, five.
Amber’s police report comes less than four weeks after Wiz’s house in the San Fernando Valley was broken into by two men wearing hoodies.
The criminals broke some glass and entered the abode at around 4.45am on August 25, but a member of his team was present and they fled the scene.
Police are said to still be investigating the incident, but no property seemed to have been stolen and the only damage was the broken glass.
The attempted burglary came just a day after another celebrity home was hit by an intruder in Los Angeles.
Christina Milian and her partner M. Pokora lost jewellery and watches worth over $100,000 when their house was broken into at around 1pm on August 24.
And earlier that week, Bella Thorne scared off a would-be intruder at her San Fernando Valley home when she heard someone break a window from outside.
When she opened her door to investigate the noise, the person fled the grounds and when she called police, they were unable to find the burglar.
Two weeks ago, John Mayer saw his Beverly Hills home targeted by thieves.
The ‘Gravity’ hitmaker’s house was said to have been “ransacked” when burglars got in through an upstairs window while no one was home, and made off with around $100,000-$200,000 worth of music equipment and personal items.

Demi Lovato’s mother ‘shaken’ by her overdose

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato’s mother finds it “really difficult” to talk about the star’s recent overdose.
The 26-year-old singer was rushed to hospital in July this year after falling unconscious at her home following an overdose, and is currently in rehab undergoing an intense treatment program.
And now her mother, Dianna de la Garza, has opened up on the “shocking” day she discovered what had happened, saying the memories of her daughter’s condition make her “shake”.
She said: “It’s still a really difficult thing to talk about. I literally start to shake a little bit when I start to remember what happened that day.
“[Demi’s assistant called and] said, Demi overdosed. So, I was in shock. I didn’t know what to say. It was just something that I never, ever expected to hear, as a parent, about any of my kids.
“[Her assistant] stopped for a second and said, she’s conscious, but she’s not talking.”
Dianna and her other two children – 30-year-old Dallas Lovato and 16-year-old Madison de la Garza – rushed to the hospital to be with the ‘Sober’ hitmaker, and Dianna says she “prayed” the whole way there that her daughter would make it through.
She added: “We got there as quickly as we could. Dallas and Madison and I jumped out of the car at the emergency room and ran into the emergency room to be by her side. She just didn’t look good – at all. She was in bad shape. But I said to her, ‘Demi, I’m here. I love you.’ And at that point she said back to me, ‘I love you, too.’
“From that point on, I never allowed myself to ever think that things weren’t going to be okay. I prayed, of course, all the way to the hospital, and my faith is strong. I think that was one of things that got me through the next couple of days when she was in critical condition. We just didn’t know for two days if she was going to make it or not.”
Dianna, 56, says Demi is now “happy” and “healthy” as she works toward her sobriety, and thanked fans for the “millions of prayers” that she believes helped to save her daughter’s life.
Speaking to Newsmax TV, Dianna said: “I just feel like the reason she’s alive today is because of the millions of prayers that went up that day when everybody found out what was happening. I don’t think she would be here if it hadn’t been for those prayers and the good doctors and Cedars-Sinai. They were the best. I couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to save her life.
“She’s happy. She’s healthy. She’s working on her sobriety, and she’s getting the help she needs. That in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family.”

Victoria Beckham admits nerves before Fashion Week show

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham was nervous before her first London Fashion Week show.
The 44-year-old designer previously showed her collections in New York, but to mark 10 years of her eponymous label, she presented her spring/summer 2019 ready-to-wear collection in the UK on Sunday, (16.09.18) but despite her decade of success, she feels even more anxious before a show now than she did when she started.
Speaking to ELLE magazine, she said: “I was so nervous. I get so nervous, I really do.
“You spend months and months creating the collection and I am always conscious of doing my best. I want to give my customer what she wants,
“I was very nervous because you never know what might happen. One of the girls might have fallen down the stairs or I might have fallen down! I’m just as nervous, possibly more, than I was when I first started.”
The pop star-turned-businesswoman feels she has grown with her label and “understands” the industry and her customers a lot more now, though she still doesn’t think she knows everything.
She said: “I have grown a lot, I understand my customer more now, I understand the business, but I continue to learn. I am like a sponge.
“Recently I have learned an enormous amount about the digital side of things and how important it is. I know how much my customer wants things and also that she wants it quickly, so the ecomm experience has to be easy and fast.
“I was a pop star going into the fashion industry, that could have gone one of two ways.
“The thing that got to me was the waiting – back at that time things weren’t as instant, so you didn’t see reviews until the end of the day. You don’t get feedback for a long, long time; it is not as instant as it is now.”

Being a supermodel ‘means nothing’ to Irina Shayk

OHMYGOSSIP — Irina Shayk claims being a supermodel “means nothing” to her.
The 32-year-old beauty insists she is “just a human being” and admitted her agent wishes she cultivated a more glamorous image.
She told People magazine: “It means nothing. I’m just a human being.
“I don’t wake up in hair and make-up and high heels. I literally love to wear the most comfortable clothes ever and sometimes when my agent sees me, he’s like, ‘Irina, this is not okay.’ And I’m like, ‘This is me.’ ”
The brunette beauty’s self-confidence has grown over the years but she is “very critical” of and constantly trying to better herself.
She said: “I don’t wake up and say, ‘Oh my god I’m so perfect.’ I wake up and say, ‘Maybe it’s time to go to the gym, I have cellulite.’ I’m very critical of myself.
“I feel like once you get too comfortable that’s the day you go down. I’m a Capricorn so I love to push myself to do better.
“Through my career and through my travel experience I’ve learned so much about me, about my body and about life – about being present in life, my self-confidence has grown.”
Working with the Italian lingerie label Intimissimi is one of the things that has improved Irina’s self-esteem over the years, and the model stunned at the brand’s catwalk show last week in Verona, Italy.
Irina loves to work with the brand as she believes it provides high-quality affordable products.
She said: “The Intimissimi show is really fun because they’re my family and they’ve been doing it for so long — it’s a tradition.”
“I love this brand because it has something that every woman can buy. It’s affordable. It’s great quality.
“And I’m Russian – trust me – I love to save my money. I don’t like to spend my money on something that I’m going to trash in a few weeks.”

Kelly Clarkson: My daughter would be ‘disappointed’ to meet Chris Martin

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson thinks her daughter would be “disappointed” if she met Chris Martin, despite previously claiming the tot has a crush on him.
The 36-year-old singer has previously spoken about her four-year-old daughter River Rose’s “obsession” with the Coldplay frontman, but has now said she thinks she’d be let down if she ever met the singer in real life, because she’s developed an infatuation with his looks in the 2000 video for ‘Yellow’, rather than what he looks like almost two decades later.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon’, Kelly said: “She’s obsessed currently with Chris Martin. “When I say obsessed, I mean the boy from the video, not Chris Martin now. She doesn’t understand that he’s not the boy in the ‘Yellow’ video, like when he first came out years ago. She’s in love.
“She asked me one night, we sing every night, and I’d just put these glow in the dark stars on her little cabin bed that she has in her room, and she said ‘Sing a song about stars’.
“The only one I could think of was [‘Yellow’], and now she’s obsessed with it. She watches the video like every night before bed. It’s weird, like, scary foreshadowing. While she’s watching, it’s as if, ‘He’s singing to me.’
“She’s going to be slightly disappointed if she ever meets him because he’s, you know, older than the boy in the video.”
The ‘Because of You’ hitmaker – who also has son Remington, two, with her husband Brandon Blackstock – previously shared a video on social media in which her daughter said she wants to “kiss” the 41-year-old singer, because she thinks he’s “beautiful”.
River said in the clip: “Chris Martin, I like him.
“He’s beautiful and I like his song and I want to kiss him.”

Downton Abbey movie to be released next year

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Downton Abbey’ movie is set to be released in September 2019.
The hugely popular British period drama – which ran from 2010 to 2015 and starred the likes of Hugh Bonneville and Dame Maggie Smith – is currently being turned into a motion picture, and it has now been revealed by the production’s distributor Focus Features that it will hit screens next year.
UK fans of the series will be able to catch the movie from September 13 2019, whilst North American fans will have to wait an extra week before they can head to theatres on September 20.
Focus chairman Peter Kujawski said in a statement: “Since the series ended, fans of ‘Downton’ have long been waiting for the Crawley family’s next chapter. We’re thrilled to join this incredible group of filmmakers, actors and craftspeople, led by Julian Fellowes and Gareth Neame, in bringing back the world of ‘Downton’ to the big screen next September.”

While plot details are yet to have been revealed, the film will tell the story of the fictional Crawley family and their servants who work for them in an English country home in the early 1900s.

Kim Kardashian: Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy was the ‘best kept secret’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West thinks Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy was “the best kept secret” of this generation.
The 21-year-old reality star managed to keep her pregnancy under wraps up until the moment her daughter Stormi was born on February 1 this year, and her older half-sister Kim has said she can’t believe how well her sibling managed to avoid having the news leak.
Speaking on a promotional clip for the upcoming episode of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ – which was filmed whilst Kylie was still pregnant – the 37-year-old star said: “The funnest game ever is the Kylie pregnancy game. Just to see what people think. There were pictures of her out on TMZ and she looked so skinny.”
The beauty – who has North, four, Saint, two, and Chicago, almost eight months, with her husband Kanye West – then added to Kylie in her confessional: “Your pregnancy has been the best kept secret of our generation.
“Your friends deserve awards. Because seriously, now you know you have some real ones because that never would’ve happened in my day.”
But the ‘Life of Kylie’ star insisted she wasn’t trying to keep her pregnancy a secret for the sake of a big reveal, but instead just wanted privacy.
She said: “Like, I’m not trying to keep a secret, I’m doing this for myself.”
The comments come after Kylie’s sister Kendall, 22, recently praised her for being able to stay out of the spotlight.
She told her sibling: “One of my favourite things you did during your pregnancy … was that you stayed really low-key during your pregnancy. I think that it was kind of beautiful … What were you thinking when you did that and what was your whole process behind that?”
To which Kylie responded: “I knew that it would be better for us, if me and Stormi just stayed kind of low-key. Your hormones are going crazy and your emotions are more heightened, and I just felt like I wasn’t prepared to … I just knew that it would be better for me, and I could enjoy the whole experience if I did it privately. I just felt like it was a sacred special moment and I wasn’t ready to share it with everybody. I just wanted to keep that to myself.”

Maroon 5 to headline 2019 Super Bowl halftime show?

OHMYGOSSIP — Maroon 5 will reportedly headline the Super Bowl LIII halftime show in 2019.
The ‘Sugar’ rockers – comprised of Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, James Valentine, Matt Flynn, PJ Morton, and Sam Farrar – are said to be the act topping the bill at next year’s Super Bowl, which will take place in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3rd, 2019.
Two sources confirmed the news to Variety magazine, although the band have not yet commented on the news, and a representative for the NFL told the publication it’s “tradition to speculate” about acts.
The rep said: “It’s a Super Bowl tradition to speculate about the performers for the Pepsi Halftime Show. We are continuing to work with [longtime sponsor] Pepsi on our plans but do not have any announcements to make on what will be another epic show.”
If the ‘She Will Be Loved’ stars do take to the iconic stage to perform in front of millions across the globe, they will follow in the footsteps of this year’s performer Justin Timberlake, as well as the likes of Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, and Beyoncé, who have all graced the stage in recent years.
The Super Bowl halftime show always promises to be a spectacle, and this year Justin Timberlake was even considering performing with a hologram of iconic musician Prince – who passed away in 2017 – before plans were scrapped at the last minute after he received backlash on social media.
A source said at the time: “He was 100 per cent ready to use the hologram but nixed it due to backlash from social media and Prince fans. That’s why he had that sheet up like in your mama’s backyard.”
Prince’s close friend Sheila E. had tweeted before the show that Justin was not going to use a hologram ahead of the performance.
She wrote: “Family, I spoke w/Justin 2nite and he shared heartfelt words of respect for Prince & the Purple fans … There is no hologram. (sic)”
She also hinted she had advised Justin to drop his hologram plans.
She said: “I just said no. I just felt that it was too soon. The hologram was weird, and Prince did tell me [to] make sure nobody ever does a hologram [of him] … He thought it was very demonic and that’s his spiritual beliefs.”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is ‘grateful to be alive’

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Louis-Dreyfus is “grateful to be alive” following her recovery from breast cancer.
The ‘Veep’ actress underwent successful surgery earlier this year after revealing a year ago that she had been diagnosed with the life-changing illness, and says that coming out the other side of her battle has left her with “so much to be grateful for.”
She said: “I’m grateful to be alive. I’m grateful for my heroic husband and our lovely young boys, or young men, I should say, who are our boys. And my friends and family. I’m grateful I have the life I have.”
The 57-year-old actress also extended her gratitude to her ‘Veep’ co-stars and crew, after the hit HBO comedy took time off air whilst she underwent her treatment.
Julia – who has since returned to work – added: “I am very grateful to my Veep crew – all of them, cast, writers, crew, everybody above and below the line – who have waited out this period of time. But I’m feeling good and feeling quite ready and delighted to focus on funny things as opposed to things that aren’t quite so funny.
“It’s just a joy to do what you want to do and have success with it. That’s happened to me in my life and it doesn’t happen to everybody. I’m well aware I’ve had a great deal of good fortune.”
And it isn’t just acting that Julia has thrown herself into since being given the all clear either, as she’s partnered with registered Federal PAC Local Majority to put together a PSA to urge people to vote in the upcoming US midterm elections.
In the message, the star touches on the issue of affordable health care, something which now hits close to home.
She told People magazine: “It is not lost on me how dire my circumstances would be if I did not have really strong insurance through my union. And the idea of not being covered when you’re in a crisis, from a health care point of view, is an unconscionable thing to me.
“I can’t say it’s a club I ever really wanted to be a part of, but now that I am part of it, I’m delighted to help those who need help. I guess you could say that’s a huge silver lining to all of this horribleness – being able to help others who are in the same spot. And that is quite gratifying.”

Amy Schumer slams sexual assault jokes

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Schumer has slammed people for “belittling” sexual assault victims by “making fun of the terror” they have endured.
The 37-year-old comedian and actress took to Twitter on Wednesday (19.09.18) to share a lengthy note in which she hit out at “any dude” who tries to make jokes about sexual assault, as she says the comments are “harmful” and offensive to “victims who have been wronged”.
She wrote in the note that was posted as a picture on the micro-blogging site: “Any dude saying ‘I’m scared to be in a room with a woman now’ or ‘is it kay to say hello? I don’t know the new rules’ STOP.
“What you are doing is belittling victims who have been wronged. They say 1 in 6 women in our country are sexually assaulted. That’s based on who reports it. It’s been proved to be closer to 1 in 3. Your sisters/daughters
“Stop making fun of the terror and indignity most of us have faced in our lives. Again RBG quotes Sarah Grimke, I ask no favour for my sex. All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.
“If you’re confused about the new rules. Just ask and don’t make it a joke. Because that’s harmful and we don’t want to hear that kind of joke right now. Mmmmmkay? (sic)”
This isn’t the first time the ‘Trainwreck’ star – who is married to Chris Fischer – has spoken out in defence of sexual harassment victims.
In 2017, she joined other stars at the Women’s March in Washington D.C., and also commented on fellow comedian and friend Aziz Ansari’s sexual misconduct allegation that same year, saying the focus should be on the alleged victim rather than the star’s career.
She said at the time: “I don’t think anyone wants to see Aziz’s career ruined or his life ruined or anything like that, but that’s where people’s minds go. They go, ‘Does he deserve this?’ And it’s really not about that. I think it’s about expressing and showing women that that behaviour’s not okay and not only can you leave, but you need to leave.”

Burt Reynolds honoured with private funeral

OHMYGOSSIP — Burt Reynolds was honoured with a private funeral service on Wednesday (19.09.18).
The iconic actor tragically passed away earlier this month at the age of 82, and although it was recently revealed he has already been cremated, his friends and family gathered in West Palm Beach, Florida, for a small service in memory of the ‘Deliverance’ star.
After the service, attendees went the nearby tavern, E.R. Bradley’s Saloon, as it was claimed the late actor “loved” to visit small bars such as that one.
A source told People magazine: “Burt was a real person and he loved these kinds of casual watering holes.”
According to a funeral program obtained by Us Weekly magazine, a eulogy was given by Todd Vittum, who starred alongside Burt in ‘The Last Movie Star’, whilst his ‘Smokey and the Bandit II’ co-star Patrick Moody delivered the closing prayer.
Burt passed away in hospital on September 6 after suffering a cardiac arrest, and it was recently revealed on his death certificate that his remains have already been cremated at Florida’s Gold Coast Crematory.
His niece, Nancy Lee Brown Hess is in charge of his ashes, and it has also been revealed she is named as personal representative of his estate on his will, which puts her in charge of all his possessions.
Burt’s will also states that his son 30-year-old Quinton has been “omitted” from the document, because the star set up a separate trust for him “during his lifetime”, the details of which are not known.
The papers read: “I intentionally omit him from this, my Last Will and Testament, as I have provided for him during my lifetime in my Declaration of Trust.”
Shortly after his passing, Nancy released a heartfelt statement in which she claimed the passing of her uncle had come as a shock to her family.
She said: “My uncle was not just a movie icon; he was a generous, passionate and sensitive man who was dedicated to his family, friends, fans and acting students
“He has had health issues, however, this was totally unexpected. He was tough. Anyone who breaks their tailbone on a river and finishes the movie is tough. And that’s who he was. My uncle was looking forward to working with Quentin Tarantino (in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’) and the amazing cast that was assembled.”
