OHMYGOSSIP — Charlize Theron praises her mother for teaching her to be “brave”.
The 43-year-old actress has said she learned a lot about bravery from her mother Gerda – who shot Charlize’s father Charles to death in self-defence after he attacked her when Charlize was just 15 – and praised her for being a “great mom” who helped her overcome her “struggles”.
Speaking to Extra at the Women in Hollywood event hosted by Elle magazine on Monday (16.10.18), the ‘Tully’ star said: “I think we all have to find our own footing. None of us are born knowing how to navigate life and difficult decisions – especially for young girls. No matter who you are or where you come from, the struggle is maybe a little bit different, but all interconnects. I am lucky enough that I had a great mom who really kind of made me brave and always told me to be brave. I don’t know who I might have been without that.”
Previously, the ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ actress – who has adopted children Jackson, six, and August, three – has spoken about her family’s harrowing experience dealing with her father’s addiction, including what it was like when her mother shot and killed her father.
She said: “I just pretended like it didn’t happen. I didn’t tell anybody – I didn’t want to tell anybody. Whenever anybody asked me, I said my dad died in a car accident. Who wants to tell that story? Nobody wants to tell that story.”
The star was left traumatised by having an alcoholic father as she never knew what mood he would be in, and said she still finds it difficult to be “dependent” on people now.
She added: “I think what more affected me for my adult life that happened in my childhood was more the every day living of a child living in the house with an alcoholic and waking up not knowing what was going to happen. And not knowing how my day was going to go and all of it dependent on somebody else and whether he was not going to drink or drink.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Busy Philipps has credited best pal Michelle Williams with saving her marriage to Marc Silverstein.
The 39-year-old actress has 10-year-old Birdie and five-year-old Cricket with the producer – whom she married in 2007 – but says that when her love life hit a rough patch, she sought emotional support in the arms of another man, and considered getting a divorce.
Writing in her new memoir ‘This Will Only Hurt a Little’, Busy said: “There was a man I was friends with, another dad. We’d been having lunch and stuff. Texting. Talking on the phone a lot. Honestly, I had a crush on him. I like him. Maybe I even loved him? He clearly liked me too.”
Busy says she confronted Marc and told him she wanted a divorce, to which he asked her for another chance.
And when thinking about her options, she says her best friend Michelle Williams urged her to try and “keep her family intact”.
Recalling the advice Michelle – who has 12-year-old daughter Matilda with former boyfriend Heath Ledger, who passed away just months after they split – gave her, Busy wrote in her book: “[Michelle said] It would be really awful for two years and then you would find a new normal but honestly, if you can keep your family intact, I think you should do it.”
The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star also sought the opinion of a therapist, who told her: “Listen. Divorce f***s up children. It just does.”
Busy and Marc later started attending therapy separately to work on their issues, and are still together today.
She wrote: “This time, Marc got his own therapist. And we started to work through it. But I also kept talking to my emotional boyfriend (for lack of a better term). I know. That part is so s**t. I’m sorry. I really am. I really truly am.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Melissa McCarthy has intense game nights with her best pal Octavia Spencer.
The 43-year-old actress – who has 11-year-old Vivian and eight-year-old Georgette with her husband Ben Falcone – is close friends with the fellow Hollywood star, and has said that whilst she’s a “lovely” person, she turns into the “most competitive” woman whenever she’s invited to play card games with Melissa and her family.
Melissa said: “She is the most competitive. We’re not playing for money. It’s literally me, my mom and my children playing like Uno or Rummy, there’s no money involved.”
The ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’ actress jokingly accused 46-year-old Octavia of “smack talking” her children, and said she’s an “intense” person to play games with.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ on Monday (16.10.18), she added: “She smack talks on a constant thing. My mother and my kids are there and she’s like, ‘play it! play it and mean it! you don’t have it’! and she just goes and goes. She is intense to play with.”
Meanwhile, although her brood haven’t been banned from game night with Octavia just yet, Melissa recently revealed she has stopped them from watching her move ‘The Happytime Murderers’ – in which she stars alongside a puppet cast – until they’re 40.
The comedy-crime film is R-rated despite its cast of puppets, and Melissa insisted her daughters have zero chance of watching the adult themed movie.
She said: “It’s definitely a grown-up movie. My kids are like, ‘We can’t wait to see this!’ And I’m like, ‘I can’t wait to show you, when you’re 40! It will be so wonderful, when you’re 110 and you can see this!’
“I think it’s part of the fun of it. Somebody was saying that there’s always that thing, when you watch something from The Muppets, one of the movies, or Sesame Street, that when the lights go off, somebody says cut, and they walk out the back door, you wonder if they go into the real world and have a life? This is really seeing behind the curtain. When the lights are off and they’re not having to perform for people, you see the real grind of their lives, and there’s something really cool about it.
“There’s a weird, edgy coolness, and it’s really funny.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow uses her daughter as her “focus group” for Goop.
The 46-year-old actress has 14-year-old daughter Apple with her former husband Chris Martin, and has said she often turns to her teen for help when it comes to her lifestyle and wellness brand, as she “has her finger on the pulse”.
When asked by Glamour UK magazine if Apple would ever consider joining the Goop brand when she’s older, Gwyneth – who also has son Moses, 12, with the Coldplay frontman – said: “That would be great! She has her finger on the pulse. She really is my focus group; I am always asking her opinion about this or that. She represents that Gen Z generation. I don’t know half the things she talks about, but I try to keep up with her!”
The teenager has previously been described by the ‘Iron Man’ actress as “ballsy”, and when she was just 12 years old, Gwyneth said Apple didn’t need any encouragement to take risks.
In an interview in 2016, Gwyneth said: “My daughter is super ballsy. I always follow her lead. I actually don’t need to encourage her to take risks. She likes to push herself; she wants to see how far she can get. It’s really inspiring to see that in a young woman.”
But the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ star isn’t a fan of how fast her brood seem to be growing up, as now Apple has her own private social media accounts, and spends all her time on her phone.
She said: “It’s crazy – her phone and her texting and her social media. I waited as long as I could. She was the last one of her friends to get a phone.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank shared their first kiss as a married couple on the steps of Windsor Castle.
The 28-year-old royal and the 32-year-old drinks ambassador tied the knot in a touching ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on Friday (12.10.18), and showed their love for one another with a quick kiss at the top of the steps as they exited the chapel, just moments after being made husband and wife.
As Eugenie turned to her new husband, she is believed to have said: “Do you want to kiss?”, and Jack is said to have replied: “It’s our first time.”
The touching moment was witnessed by those gathered at the bottom of the steps, which included friends of the couple as well as several representatives from charities and organisations that had been invited to the ceremony, including The Big Cat Sanctuary, charity:water, Elephant Family, Key to Freedom, The Print Room at The Coronet, Project 0, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, The Salvation Army, Street Child, Supporting Wounded Veterans, Tate Young Patrons, Teenage Cancer Trust, and The UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women.
After their kiss, the couple made it down the steps, followed by the bridal party, which consisted of Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s daughter Princess Charlotte, Mia Tindall – daughter of Zara and Mike Tindall – Mia’s cousins Savannah and Isla, Eugenie’s goddaughter Maud Windsor and Robbie Williams’ daughter, Theodora.
Pageboys Prince George – who is the son of William and Catherine – and Louis de Givenchy, who is the son of friends, also followed behind.
Eugenie and Jack then climbed into the Scottish State Coach for their short Carriage Procession around Windsor, where they waved at members of the public who had lined the streets to watch the newlyweds on their journey to St George’s Hall at the castle, where the Queen will host an afternoon reception.

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and Cara Delevingne were among the star studded guests at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding.
The 28-year-old royal tied the knot with the 32-year-old drinks ambassador on Friday (12.10.18) in a ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, and invited a whole host of their star-studded friends list to witness the event.
Eugenie and Jack invited a whopping 850 people to their wedding ceremony, and alongside the Princess’ royal family – including grandparents Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, father Prince Andrew, mother Sarah, Duchess of York, sister Princess Beatrice, and cousins Prince William and Prince Harry – were several famous faces.
Model Kate Moss arrived with her daughter Lila Grace Moss Hack, whilst fellow models including Naomi Campbell, Cara and Poppy Delevingne, and Pixie Geldof were also in attendance at the event.
Musicians Ricky Martin, James Blunt, Ellie Goulding, and Robbie Williams – who arrived with his wife Ayda Field – were spotted among the guests, as were comedians Jimmy Carr and Stephen Fry, as well as Stephen’s husband Elliott Spencer.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa Middleton arrived with her husband James Matthews, whilst football star Jamie Redknapp came to the ceremony on his own.
The wedding wasn’t without some Hollywood glamour either, as actress Liv Tyler was in attendance, as was Demi Moore, who turned up with American florist Eric Buterbaugh.
Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas were also invited to the ceremony, which took place five months after Prince Harry – whom they both previously dated – tied the knot with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, in the same venue.
Elsewhere, artist Tracey Emin, ‘Made In Chelsea’ star Oliver Proudlock and his fiancée Emma Louise Connolly, and Sam Branson – the son of Virgin founder Richard Branson – all appeared at the ceremony, too.
Music for the wedding was provided by blind opera star Andrea Bocelli and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, who performed a moving rendition of ‘Panis Angelicus’ for the newlyweds.

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress was designed to show off the scar down her spine.
The 28-year-old royal tied the knot with drinks ambassador Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on Friday (12.10.18), and her choice of gown featured a personal touch that paid tribute to her battle with scoliosis – which is a curvature of the spine.
Eugenie underwent surgery to correct her spine’s curve when she was 12, and has been left with a long scar down her back, but rather than cover up the permanent mark, she opted for an open back dress which showed off the scar, in the hopes of honouring those who had helped her and inspiring others with the condition.
The dress – which was designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos – was a long-sleeved ivory gown with a flowing train, folded shoulders, and a low back, and the royal chose not to wear a veil, accessorising with the Greville Emerald tiara which she borrowed from her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Eugenie had hinted at the meaning behind having her scar on show when she spoke to ITV’s ‘This Morning’ prior to her wedding, as she had planned a “lovely way” to pay tribute to other scoliosis sufferers.
She said: “I had an operation when I was 12 on my back, and you’ll see on Friday [at the wedding], but it’s a lovely way to honour the people who looked after me and a way of standing up for young people who also go through this.
“I think you can change the way beauty is, and you can show people your scars and I think it’s really special to stand up for that.”
On top of the revealing back, the gown was also adorned with a number of symbols that are meaningful to Princess Eugenie as motifs.
A statement from the Royal Family read: “The symbols are a Thistle for Scotland acknowledging the couple’s fondness for Balmoral, a Shamrock for Ireland as a nod to the Bride’s Ferguson family, the York Rose and ivy representing the couple’s home.”
Princess Eugenie also donned diamond and emerald drop ear-rings which are a Wedding gift from the Groom, as well as satin peep-toe heels by Charlotte Olympia.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pippa Middleton has given birth to a baby boy.
The 35-year-old socialite and author and her husband James Matthews have welcomed their first child into the world and both mother and baby are doing well.
A representative for the couple said: “Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well.”
The baby boy – whose name has yet to be released to the public – was born at 1.58pm on Monday October 15, weighing 8lb and 9oz. The baby arrived at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, the same place where her sister Duchess Catherine gave birth to her three children.
Pippa sparked speculation she was due to give birth any time soon when she was spotted heading into the Lindo Wing on Monday (15.10.18).
Pippa confirmed she was expecting her first child back in June.
She revealed: “I was lucky to pass the 12-week scan without suffering from morning sickness. That meant I was able to carry on as normal. When I learned the happy news that I was pregnant I realised I needed to adjust my 4 to 5-day-a-week routine. I’ve noticed my body change but through exercise I feel it’s being strengthened. I’m fanatical about sport and have looked at loads of books and websites on exercise during pregnancy but have been disappointed by the limited technical information what you can and can’t do.
“This being my first pregnancy, I had so many questions I felt were still unanswered. I wanted to know things like, would I strain if I served in tennis, are strokes of swimming safe, can I still do a normal yoga class if I avoided certain positions? Could I still work my abs? I’ve noticed my body change and weight increase, but through effective exercise and sports I feel that it’s been strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth and recovery … And ensure that post-baby, my old favourite jeans will still fit eventually!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry introduced his wife Meghan Markle to her mini me.
The flame-haired royal called the ‘Suits’ actress – who is pregnant with the couple’s first child – over to speak to a little girl, who he thought looked the spitting image of Meghan when she was younger.
And Prince Harry kindly snapped a group photo of Sethunya Gibbons – who was wearing a shirt which read “girls can do anything” – and Meghan as the royals completed a walk about at the Sydney Opera House.
Someone in the crowd told Meghan they thought the girl looked like her, and she replied: “I was literally about to say the same thing. You remind me so much of myself when I was younger. And I love your shirt.”
And Sethunya spoke of the family’s excitement at meeting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
She told 2dayfm: “When Harry came over to me, he came over first, he said ‘girls can do anything’ because that’s what it says on my shirt. Then he asked me if I wanted to meet his wife so I said ‘yes’ and then he asked me if I wanted him to take a photo of me and Meghan.”
Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, announced that they are expecting their first baby together on Monday (15.10.18) in a statement that read: “Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has been suffering from “anxiety” in the wake of her split from Pete Davidson.
The 25-year-old singer reportedly ended her engagement with the ‘Saturday Night Live’ star last week after it was claimed she needed time to “heal” by herself following the tragic death of her ex-partner Mac Miller last month.
And whilst she returned to work on Tuesday (16.10.18) for a rehearsal of NBC’s ‘A Very Wicked Halloween’ – which celebrates 15 years on Broadway for smash hit musical ‘Wicked’ and airs later this month – she noted that her journey hasn’t been easy.
Posting a picture on her Instagram story which saw her don a green lipstick in honour of ‘Wicked’ character Elphaba, the ‘God is a Woman’ hitmaker wrote: “Can’t believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today! Not today Satan! Not tomorrow or the next day either not no more u can suck my big green d**k finna sing my heart out and be a big walking vessel of love bye. (sic)”
Ariana’s struggle comes after the tragic death of Mac following an apparent drug overdose on September 7, which caused her to take time away from her music career in order to allow herself time to heal.
And sources claim the news left her “emotionally unavailable” to 24-year-old Pete, causing the pair to part ways.
One insider said: “Ariana made the final decision. It was time to realise this wasn’t the right time for them and Pete is incredibly heartbroken. Pete is still is so in love with her. He wanted his whole world to revolve around her but she was emotionally unavailable. He realises she was at her limit with pressure from everyone and everything around her. There were days she just wanted to run away from the world just to get some peace and quiet and piece of mind. Pete had to give her that space out of love.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have begun child custody evaluations.
The estranged couple – who have Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne together – have made the next step in their lengthy divorce proceedings, as they’ve now begun negotiations into the custody agreement surrounding their brood.
According to People magazine, their court-appointed evaluator, Dr. Stan Katz officially began custody evaluations last week after he stated in court documents – which were filed on October 12 and obtained by the publication – that he was qualified in proceeding with the evaluations.
The news comes after the 43-year-old ‘Maleficent’ actress – who recently replaced her former divorce attorney Laura Wasser with new representative Samantha Bley Dejean – was said to be “focused on healing her family” in the wake of the ongoing divorce battle, which began when the former couple split in September 2016.
A source said: “Angelina decided to put Samantha in charge of her case. She put her in the lead a month ago, and over the past month, the case has been fully transitioned to Samantha. She has come to rely on Samantha’s counsel and thought it best that she take the lead. Angelina remains focused on healing her family. She continues to support the reconciliation of the children with Brad.”
Previously, Angelina and Brad reached an “interim” custody deal.
A source shared: “The interim arrangement was agreed upon by both parties after it was recommended by their custody evaluator.”
DeJean added: “[Pitt] has a duty to pay child support. As of present, [Pitt] has paid no meaningful child support since separation. Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children’s expenses have not been regularly sustained by [Pitt] for over a year and a half, [Jolie] intends to file an RFO [request for a court order] for the establishment of a retroactive child support order.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Roseanne Barr thinks the death of her on-screen character in ‘The Conners’ was “grim and morbid”.
The 65-year-old actress’ character was killed off during the opening episode of the new sitcom – which is a spin-off of Roseanne’s eponymous show – but in a statement, Roseanne and her mentor Rabbi Shmuley Boteach have bemoaned the way in which the situation was dealt with.
Roseanne – whose character died due to an accidental opioid overdose – said: “While we wish the very best for the cast and production crew of ‘The Conners’, all of whom are deeply dedicated to their craft and were Roseanne’s cherished colleagues, we regret that ABC chose to cancel ‘Roseanne’ by killing off the Roseanne Conner character.”
Fans had previously speculated about how ‘The Conners’ would deal with Roseanne’s exit, which was triggered by her offensive tweet about Valerie Jarrett – a senior adviser to former US President Barack Obama – earlier this year.
But the veteran star – who previously claimed to have sent the tweet while using the sedative Ambien – argued her on-screen death was simply too bleak.
Her statement continued: “That [the character’s death] was done through an opioid overdose lent an unnecessary grim and morbid dimension to an otherwise happy family show.
“This was a choice the network did not have to make.
“‘Roseanne’ was the only show on television that directly addressed the deep divisions threatening the very fabric of our society. Specifically, the show promoted the message that love and respect for one another’s personhood should transcend differences in background and ideological discord.
“The show brought together characters of different political persuasions and ethnic backgrounds in one, unified family, a rarity in modern American entertainment. Above all else, the show celebrated a strong, matriarchal woman in a leading role, something we need more of in our country.”
Roseanne also blasted ABC for axing her in light of the controversy surrounding her tweet.
She said: “After repeated and heartfelt apologies, the network was unwilling to look past a regrettable mistake, thereby denying the twin American values of both repentance and forgiveness.
“In a hyper-partisan climate, people will sometimes make the mistake of speaking with words that do not truly reflect who they are. However, it is the power of forgiveness that defines our humanity.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Priyanka Chopra’s wedding dress will be “cute and comfortable”.
The ‘Quantico’ star may have only recently got engaged to Nick Jonas but she already has a good idea of what sort of gown she wants for her big day.
She told Entertainment Tonight: “I always believed that anything and everything that I wear, I have to be comfortable and cute. So it’s going to be cute and comfortable.”
And Priyanka and Nick are keen to get married “sooner than later”.
A source shared: “Priyanka and Nick are ready to tie the knot sooner than later. The couple has had an accelerated relationship, and are very comfortable with one another. Priyanka has already been planning the wedding for a couple of months now and is excited to call Nick her husband one day.
“Priyanka and Nick are on the same page about wanting to get married earlier rather than later, and are telling friends it will most likely be next year.”
The ‘Jealous’ hitmaker proposed to the actress in July and she admitted their pledge to get married has brought them even closer together, saying they now feel more like “family”.

The couple confirmed their engagement recently and Christian made it official with a stunning $400,000 diamond sparkler, surrounded by smaller jewels.
Andrew Brown, President of WP Diamonds, told E! News: “Lady Gaga’s spectacular ring appears to be a 6-7 carat pink sapphire with a diamond halo totaling 3-4 carats. This is likely a high quality, no heat treatment, pink sapphire. It looks like it may be a Padparadscha sapphire, in which case this ring would easily retail between $300,000 and $400,000.”
Lady Gaga confirmed her engagement as she was honoured at the Women In Hollywood Awards, hosted by Elle magazine in Beverly Hills, where she referred to her love as “my fiancé”.
Gaga – who was previously engaged to actor Taylor Kinney before calling it quits in 2016 – has remained largely private about her relationship with Christian, 49, but previously gushed about the hunk whilst on stage last year.
She said at the time: “When I went backstage, Christian was by the stairs making sure I was OK. The best part about being in love with someone is having them there to catch you if you fall.”
And in her documentary, ‘Gaga: Five Foot Two’, the star explained that she often asks Christian, as well as the other members of her family, for advice when it comes to her career.

OHMYGOSSIP — Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams are set to star in their own reality TV show.
The 29-year-old socialite and the 33-year-old model – who married earlier this year – have been handed their own E4 reality series, which will follow the loved-up couple as they go about their day-to-day lives, balancing their new-found responsibilities as parents with managing their careers.
A source explained: “Reality TV will always be in Spencer and Vogue’s blood – especially given they met on ‘The Jump’.
“After being approached a number of times, they’ve decided it’s time for them to head back on screen and open their doors to fans.”
Spencer and Vogue became parents for the first time on September 5, when she gave birth to a baby boy called Theodore.
And the newest member of their family is reportedly set to play a prominent role in their new TV series, which has been described as taking a “light-hearted look at the Matthews household”.
The source told The Sun newspaper: “Theodore, who is affectionately known as Beefy by his adoring parents, will be taking centre stage as the cameras follow his mum and dad knee deep in nappies, as they try to figure out how on earth to be the best mum and dad they can be.”
Meanwhile, Spencer previously admitted he would love to star in his own reality TV series.
However, he also claimed he wouldn’t be too keen to watch the show himself.
Spencer said: “We’d love to work together on a TV project but it would have to be the right idea.
“There will be some sort of reality telly future projects, I am sure, but whether or not I will watch it is something else.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba is reportedly close to agreeing a deal to star in Tom Hooper’s adaptation of ‘Cats’.
The London-born actor is being eyed to appear alongside the likes of Sir Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, and Taylor Swift in the much-anticipated adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s money-spinning musical, Variety reports.
Idris, 46, has already played a feline role in his career, starring as Shere Khan in 2016’s ‘The Jungle Book’.
The ‘Cats’ movie is to be produced by Tom, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Debra Hayward, while Steven Spielberg will be one of the executive producers of the project.
The adaptation has been in the works for years, with Tom – who directed ‘Les Miserables’ – previously teasing the ambition back in 2016.
In recent years, Idris has also been repeatedly linked with the role of James Bond.
Speculation has frequently suggested that the ‘Luther’ star could replace Daniel Craig as the next 007, but an insider recently claimed that the coveted role is set to be handed to Richard Madden instead.
A source said: “It’s seriously looking like he [Madden] is going to get the job.”
Barbara Broccoli, the executive producer at Eon Productions, is likely to have the final say on who will become the next Bond.
And she’s apparently been convinced by Richard’s performance in the BBC drama series ‘The Bodyguard’ to offer him the role.
The insider added: “Not only is he on top of Barbara’s list, but she is preparing to offer the role.”
