Jamie Lee Curtis feels good in her skin at 63

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lee Curtis feels “good in my skin, in my mind” and “in my body” in her 60s.
The ‘Halloween Ends’ star at the age of 63 is happy to be growing old gracefully and not succumbing to Hollywood pressures to get plastic surgery and dye her grey hair so she can adhere to some invented beauty ideal.
In fact, Jamie insists she is at her happiest now she is in her seventh decade of life.
Speaking to ‘Today’, she said: “I think over the years of trial and error, a lot of therapy, a lot of sobriety, that now I am made for Jamie. I feel good in my skin, in my mind, in my body.”
Jamie – who has reprised her role as Laurie Strode, a survivor of serial killer Michael Myers, in her latest horror role – is delighted that her age positive attitude has led to her being cast in many interesting movies, such as murder mystery ‘Knives Out’.
She said: “Maybe the more movies I get to make where people go, ‘Oh, she looks like an old lady,’ okay, it’s all good. Aging is what happens. We’re human.”
Jamie and her husband Christopher Guest have two grown-up daughters, Ruby and Anne, and she has always told them not to get any sort of cosmetic procedure., and will continue to relay that message to them both.
She said: “My advice is don’t mess with your face. I did plastic surgery. I put Botox in my head. Does Botox make the big wrinkle go away? Yes. But then you look like a plastic figurine.”

Drew Barrymore: ‘I’ve never messed with my face!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Drew Barrymore won’t ever have cosmetic surgery on her face because she does not want to “fight nature”.
The 47-year-old actress has been working in Hollywood for decades but has resisted the urge to go under the knife or have any sort of invasive procedure to keep her looking young because ageing is part of life, and something she is happy to embrace.
During a discussion about ageing with ‘Halloween Ends’ actress Jamie Lee Curtis, 63, on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, the ‘Scream’ star said: “I’ve never messed with my face.
“I don’t want to fight nature. I’m raising two daughters, and we were raised in an industry where it was desired to drink off the fountain of youth and I just never subscribed to it. So I appreciate everything you said. And I think men just need to let women know aging is safe and awesome.”
Drew – who has daughters, Frankie, eight, and Olive, nine, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman – has never been one to shy away from giving her opinion on plastic surgery.
In February 2021, the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star revealed another motivating factor in her avoidance of cosmetic work is that she fears she could get addicted and end up ruining her looks like American socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein, who was dubbed the ‘Cat Woman’ after altering her facial features so extensively.
Drew said: “The thing that I do care about and I do feel is still relevant to my life is the face. I know myself. I’m a highly addictive person. I do one injection, I’m going to look like Jocelyn Wildenstein by Friday!”

Lizzo believes it is ‘political’ for her to wear skimpy outfits

OHMYGOSSIP — Lizzo believes it’s “political” for her to wear skimpy outfits.
The ‘About Damn Time’ hitmaker – whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson – called it “feminist” to honour her body in whatever she wants to wear while performing on stage.
The 34-year-old rapper told Vanity Fair: “I wanted to be like a dancer and also, it was kind of political and feminist in my eyes to have me, a full-figured dancer, wearing leotards, showing and celebrating curves and being Olympian in strength, endurance, and flexibility.”
Lizzo cited references like Josephine Baker – who was notable for her banana skirts in the 20s – while explaining these efforts need to “evolve generationally”.
She said: “Movements have to evolve generationally. The culture changes. You can’t have a movement in 1920 be the same thing as it is in the 2020s. We have to match the rebellion. The rebellion isn’t even the same.”
The Grammy winner – who in summer 2021 appeared on Instagram Live in tears about racism and fatphobia she had experienced online two days after her Cardi B collab ‘Rumours’ was released – says if online hate can spread “like a f***** virus” as she reflected on why that instance really upset her.
Lizzo said: “People have been calling me fat my entire life, but that was the first time seeing an insult of how I looked, who I am, and my music wrapped into one, and it really hurt me. And if one person says it, then another person says it, it multiplies like a f***** virus. If enough people on the internet start echoing sentiments about you, it becomes part of your public persona and it’s out of your control.”
The ‘Good As Hell’ hitmaker hopes to be a role model to help others dealing with online hate “get through it”.
“There’s been so many times I’ve been in glam where I’ve been sad about something, either a romantic thing or somebody passed away, or something in the news, and I’d get emotional and I’d say ‘I’ve got to take a break because I’m going to cry and f*** up the makeup.’ I had to go and do my job. So I went to the bathroom to cry about it, then I went online, because once I learn how to express myself, I need to tell that person how I really feel. I know I’m not the only person who experiences extreme negativity thrown at them from the internet—there are people in high school right now who have a whole high school talking about them, and they don’t know how they’re going to get through it. So if they can see me get through it on the level and the scale I’m experiencing it, maybe they’ll think they can get through it too.”

Anne Hathaway channeled the Devil Wears Prada at New York Fashion Week by ‘accident’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway copied her ‘Devil Wears Prada’ look at New York Fashion Week by “accident”.
The ‘Brokeback Mountain’ star didn’t mean to pay homage to Andy Sachs last month when she sat front row at the Michael Kors’ show next to Anna Wintour, the editor in chief of US Vogue and the rumoured inspiration for Meryl Streep’s character Miranda Priestly in the 2006 movie.
While appearing on the ‘Today’ show on Wednesday (12.10.2022), the 39-year-old actress labelled sporting a brown leather jacket and a high ponytail a coincidence.
Anne told host Savannah Guthrie: “It was kind of nuts, wasn’t it?,” before explaining she was “supposed to wear something else” however when the shoes that went with it didn’t match, the only other choice the Oscar winner had was the “other outfit that came”.
Anne clocked the resemblance after a new hairdresser “threw” her chocolate tresses into the high pony and joked if anyone else would see how she was dressed like the aspiring journalist.
She said: “And then my hairstylist, who was so lovely — I had never worked with him before — just said, ‘Oh I know what to do,’ and he threw my hair up in a ponytail.”
“I looked in the mirror and I thought, ‘Oh that’s funny, I wonder if anybody will notice.
Anne quipped to Savannah: “You noticed”.
Recently, ‘The Princess Diaries’ star detailed her favourite look from the David Frankel film – which is based on the 2003 book of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, an ex assistant of the legendary Conde Nast executive – spoke about her favourite outfit from the fashion flick.
Anne said: “I love what I wore to the James Hoult party, that velvet Chanel coat that went to the knees, and then the miniskirt and the stockings and the slouched boots. I think it was a sample because I kept finding straight pins in it.”

Elon Musk has launched the “finest” perfume in the world

OHMYGOSSIP — Elon Musk has launched the “finest” perfume in the world.
The SpaceX founder has dubbed his new scent the “finest fragrance on Earth” and has christened it ‘Burnt Hair’.
On Twitter, the 50-year-old billionaire labelled the aroma you get “leaning over a candle at the dinner table” and claims to have already shifted 10,000 units for $100 a pop, raking in a $1 million in revenue.
Elon asked his 108 million followers: “With a name like mine, getting into the fragrance business was inevitable – why did I even fight it for so long!?”
The Tesla boss changed his bio on the microblogging app – that he is now embroiled in a legal battle with after seeking to acquire it for $44 billion – to read “perfume salesman”.
Elon first teased getting into the eau toilette game last month, posting a off handed quip: “ ‘Burnt Hair’ – Scent for Men by Singed. Stand out in a crowd! Get noticed as you walk through the airport!”
The foray into the beauty industry follows in his habit of turning jokes into products that his faithful fans buy in droves. In 2018, Elon made $10 million by flogging $500 flamethrowers via his The Boring Company.
At the time, he tweeted: “The rumour that I’m secretly creating a zombie apocalypse to generate demand for flamethrowers is completely false.”
In 2020, he created Tesla branded “short shorts” – red satin shorts designed in an attempt to tease short sellers who bet against his electric supercars – and they were quick to sell out after being priced at $69.42, a homage to a naughty bedroom move and the annual cannabis celebration.

Kate Moss takes eyelash curlers to parties

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Moss always takes eyelash curlers to parties.
The 48-year-old supermodel has been known for her hard-partying ways over the years and though she’s sober these days, she still keeps the same beauty essentials in her bag so she can look as fresh when she leaves an event as she did when she arrived.
She said: “I always have Charlotte [Tilbury]’s Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk and Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer in my bag—plus an eyelash curler—so you can always leave the party looking as fresh as when you arrived!”
For those struggling the morning after a wild night out, Kate recommends the Dawn tea from her Cosmoss line – or dipping the face into iced water.
She told Vogue.com: “The Dawn tea is perfect for the morning after as it contains Pu-erh tea, which detoxifies; rosemary, which boosts energy; and also bay leaves, which aids digestion. And plunging your face in a bowl of iced water and cucumber slices always helps.”
Kate is the face of Charlotte Tilbury’s Studio 54-inspired holiday collection and she admitted some of her own past birthday parties proved to be a source of inspiration for the line.
She explained: “That bold gold star we did for my 34th birthday was a big inspiration, and so was the disco hair from my 30th! I really think you can do something quite dramatic for a party in the holidays— you can never have too much sparkle!”
Meanwhile, Kate has been reviewing her old fashion collection, with some of the pieces set to go to her 20-year-old daughter Lila.
She said: “I am having my archive organised and it’s been amazing to see so many pieces I’d forgotten about. And yes, a few have been borrowed or kept aside for Lila.”

Beauty hoarder Gemma Chan

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Chan is a “bit of a hoarder” when it comes to beauty products.
The ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ star admitted she needs to have a “good clear out” of her bathroom cabinet because she’s got a lot of lotions and potions which are probably not fit for use any more.
She said: “I’m a bit of a hoarder, I have to say. I’ve got lots of products that are probably out of date and should be thrown away and go in the bin – I need to have a good clear out.”
And there’s no need for the 39-year-old star to hold on to so many products because she has been simplifying her skincare routine and knows which products work best for her.
She told Elle.com: “I’m finding more and more that I’m stripping things back, not using as many products, just a few that really work. No 15-step beauty routine, it just takes too long… who has the time?
“My go-to products are two serums: the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Filler 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum which I use everyday, and then there’s a retinol night serum which is brilliant as well.
“There’s also an amazing L’Oréal Paris SPF that has no shine and no white cast. I got it when I was working in Thailand and it’s by far the best sunscreen I’ve found. It doesn’t interfere with you moisturiser or any make-up I put on afterwards. It’s brilliant.”
Gemma loved the 1950s aesthetic of her latest movie ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ but it involved an “incredible amount of upkeep” so she knows she’d never be as glamorous in her everyday life.
She said: “The whole aesthetic of the film was a dream. Everything from the set design to the costumes and the hair and make-up. It was so much fun creating those looks but that time period wasn’t exactly casual!
“I wore a wig and she was looked after by a whole team who washed and reset her each night. It’s an incredible amount of upkeep. I enjoyed it, but I also have days where I can’t be arsed to brush my hair!”

Chloe Sevigny believes clothes are crucial for getting into character

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Sevigny thinks clothes play a “crucial role” in her work.
The 47-year-old actress explained wardrobe choices help her learn a lot about her characters, while the way they are cut will define how she moves and behaves on screen.
She said: “I think that all actresses and actors will say the same thing as me – they play a crucial role. Clothes help you get into a role and build a character, just like make-up and hair.
“The fabric, the print, the cut, the style, the proportions of an outfit will dictate how you behave, and will reveal where the characters are coming from, and whether they are confident or not. Their look defines them.
“In ‘Euphoria’ for example, we can clearly see how clothes play their role in shaping the different protagonists of the show. Each character is defined by their clothes, which are well-chosen according to their personality.”
The ‘Gummo’ actress has occasionally worn her own clothes in her movies.
She told Numero magazine: “I’ve done it several times for low-budget features, like in Alex Ross Perry’s ‘Golden Exists’ for instance. In Olivier Assayas’ ‘Demonlover’, I wore my own clothes like the Balenciaga denim dress, which I still have. But the older I get, the more comfortable I feel about trusting completely the film’s costume designer and his vision.”
As she’s got older, Chloe has opted for more practical wardrobe choices.
Asked how she defines her sense of style, she said: “I never quite know how to answer that question. I wish I could give you the right definition.
“I would say that I have a classic style, with an additional twist each time.
“But as time goes by, with my child and the pandemic, I try to dress in a more comfortable, practical way with more functional pieces. It’s a work in progress, because I’m still trying to figure out how to be more utilitarian.”

The 26-year-old actress joins a host of other famous women such as ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ star Gemma Chan and Eva Longoria as a representative for the luxury haircare brand and was “so excited” to model for the brand once again during Paris Fashion Week.
She said: ” It’s really exciting to be back here with my L’Oréal Paris family. Last year was my first at Le Défilé and I am really looking forward to my second time. This is such an amazing and empowering event. Last year it was so inspiring when I was here, it felt like a sort of sisterhood. year’s Le Défilé is about “Walk Your Worth”. K-Pop star Sunmi likes to turn her ’emotions’ into a look

OHMYGOSSIP — Sunmi likes to use her “emotions” as inspiration for her style.
The 30-year-old star – who was initially known as a member of South Korean Pop group the Wonder Girls – explained during an appearance in New York that she came across like a vampire in the music video for her solo hit ‘Heart Burn’, which was released earlier this year.
She said: “I’ve always thought New York was quite a chic city. So I tried to express that in my hair and makeup. I look inside myself and take the emotions that I feel and express that into an image. In the music video, I come across as almost a vampire. I thought it would be quite a fun look if a vampire had freckles!”
The ‘When We Disco’ hitmaker also added that she never uses a facemask before bed before she is more interested in simply going to sleep.
Asked if she has a nighttime facemask routine, she told Allure: “No! I would rather spend my time sleeping instead.”
Earlier this year, Sunmi encouraged fans to find their own individual style and explained that she feels at her most “confident” when she “wears music” on stage.
She said: “If you love something, wear it all the time… Find things that suit you. That’s how you look extraordinary. I am most confident, beautiful, and happy when I wear music on stage. If you don’t know what kind of person you are yet, challenge yourself with as many styles as possible first. When you feel more confident about the fit, you can be sure that it’s your style. Your personality defines your style

Shanina Shaik took pregnancy-style inspiration from Rihanna

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna inspired Shanina Shaik’s daring pregnancy style.
The former Victoria’s Secret model felt “empowered” by the Bajan singer and fashion and beauty mogul’s bold maternity looks, proudly displaying her bare pregnant belly, and insisted there is nothing trendy about the looks, as they show women’s lives aren’t put on hold just because they are with child.
Speaking to Page Six Style, Shanina – who gave birth to her first child, son Zai with partner Matthew Adesuyan in September – said: “[Rihanna] definitely paved the way for a new trend — and it’s not even a trend. I think it’s just about empowering women and understanding that once a woman is pregnant, our life is not on pause. We can go to events and function like a normal human being.”
However, most of all, Shanina wanted to be able to “safely” go out on nights out in clothes that were right for her body.
She added: “It was about finding my own personal style with my pregnancy … and what I feel comfortable with.
“You also want to feel like you can go to dinners and, you know, go to a concert safely, of course, and dress up and just find out what’s right for your body.”
The brunette beauty’s “spoiled” newborn is already following in his mom’s footsteps, having already amassed lots of clothes.
Before she welcomed her son into the world, she said being a mother will be her “greatest role yet”.
She told Gritty Pretty magazine: “I cannot wait to meet my baby boy and raise him, with my boyfriend to become a good person. Being a mother will be my greatest role yet.
“I’ve flown my mum from Australia to Los Angeles to be here for the birth. We’re all so over the moon.
“Having a complication-free pregnancy is a privilege and the entire experience has made me appreciate women and mothers so much more.
“We bring life into this world and I really have a new found respect.”

Tan France’s team were going to reject George at Asda line offer

OHMYGOSSIP — Tan France’s team nearly rejected George at Asda’s offer for him to design a line for the supermarket chain’s clothing department.
The ‘Queer Eye’ star has launched his 37-piece range for men and women, but he admitted he had to explain how big Asda is in the UK to his colleagues because they had no idea.
He told Stylist: “Asda came along, and I had to explain to my team what it was and how big it was in the UK. They were about to reject the offer.”
The 39-year-old designer and television personality insisted he would wear the pieces he’s designed for the affordable brand.
He said: “I swear to God – and I don’t swear to God often because I’m a religious person – but the pieces in my collection are wicked.”
Tan was one of the first out Muslim gay men to appear on western television, and found it hard growing up in Doncaster, England, as a “queer Asian”.
He said: “I found it really difficult in the UK, fitting in and being myself – I was Asian, I was queer in the 80s and 90s.
“That really wasn’t easy, especially in the north.”
The co-host of ‘Next In Fashion’ – which he fronts with supermodel pal Gigi Hadid – previously said he feels like an outsider in the fashion industry.
Tan believes people in the style world disapprove of him because he doesn’t “live by trends” or worry about his outfits being “last season”- but he doesn’t care.
He said: “Believe me, just because I have fame and I have wealth, I still feel sometimes like the fashion industry thinks there are certain people who aren’t right for it.
“I’m positive they would say that about me because I don’t deck myself in designer clothing, I don’t care that much about the hottest new trend.
“If a trend works for me, I will embrace it. But do I live by trends? Do I change my clothes every three months and not wear things anymore because they were ‘last season’? Absolutely not.
“I’m positive that I’m excluded from the fashion industry because of that, but I don’t care.
“I care so much more about style for myself, making myself feel good, and pushing that agenda forward onto other people who feel like they’re excluded from the fashion industry.”

Valentino will switch store lights off at nighttime to save energy

OHMYGOSSIP — Valentino is set to turn store lights off after 10 pm to save energy.
The luxury Italian fashion house will save up to 800 kWh in energy by switching off the lighting at its 95 stores at night.
Already, 80 per cent of its energy comes from renewable sources.
It’s just the latest in a number of initiatives the brand has come up with to help the planet.
This year saw Valentino detail its Creating Shared Value framework, essentially how it pledges to show respect for the environment.
The company has vowed to go fur-free this year and alpaca-free by spring 2022.
It also has been part of the Greenpeace Detox Solution Commitment since 2013, which calls for big brands to “eliminate discharges of all hazardous chemicals across their entire supply chains.”
Meanwhile, Valentino has recently been in the headlines after Florence Pugh blasted “vulgar” men for trying to “destroy” her body image after she wore a hot pink see-through Valentino Haute Couture gown.
The ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ star hit out at the negative comments she’s received for the outfit at the Autumn/Winter 2022 show in Rome, admitting she knew there was “no way” it would go without scrutiny.
The 26-year-old actress wrote on Instagram: “Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn’t be a commentary on it. Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing.”
Florence can’t believe they took such joy in slagging off her body “publicly”.
She continued: “What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see. It isn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers, what’s worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be.”
The ‘Little Women’ star insisted she doesn’t care about being “so flat-chested”.
Florence went on: “So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny t***’, or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat-chested’. I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it.”
The ‘Midsommar’ actress questioned why so many people are “scared of breasts” and shared that she was “grateful” for being raised in “a household with very strong, powerful, curvy women.”
She added: “We were raised to find power in the creases of our body, to be loud about being comfortable. It has always been my mission in this industry to say ‘f*** it and f*** that’ whenever anyone expects my body to morph into an opinion of what’s hot or sexually attractive.”

Hannah Waddingham loves to wear ‘beautiful things’

OHMYGOSSIP — Hannah Waddingham loves to don “beautiful things”.
The ‘Ted Lasso’ star adores wearing revealing gowns by big name designer brands such as Herve Leger and Elie Saab but attributes looking good in them to “hard-to-breathe” in control knickers.
The 48-year-old actress told InStyle magazine: “Obviously I like to wear beautiful things, but first of all, there’s a lot of Spanx — like hard-to-breathe Spanx — and second of all, I like [body-con] stuff because I have to wear those looks for quite a while, and with Herve [Leger], there isn’t any boning! So, it’s much more comfortable! … I tell my stylist [James Yardley], ‘If it hasn’t got any bits and pieces in it, I’m great.’ I want to be able to get dressed easily. To me, that’s luxury.”
Hannah fought allegations she is a “sex symbol” as she argued she was really “a d***”.
She said: “I truly don’t think I’m a sex symbol. Actually, I think I’m a bit of a d***.”
The Emmy winner gushed that the camaraderie between her and the cast of her Apple Plus sitcom centring on an English football team – such as Jason Sudeikis, Brett Goldstein and Juno Temple – is “real love”.
Hannah said: “We don’t get to see each other when we’re not filming, sowe miss each other, you know? When you get us all together again, it’s madness. The friendships you see on the show, it’s just how it is. There’s real love there. We’ve got each other’s backs.”

Gracie Abrams loves ‘huge comfortable clothes’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gracie Abrams loves “huge comfortable clothes”.
The ‘Friend’ hitmaker – who is the daughter of ‘Star Trek’ director J.J Abrams, 56 – believes that putting comfort first sartorially can be a form of “self care” which can improve her mood.
The 23-year-old musician told Refinery29: “I really just am in a place in my life right now where I want to dress to feel like the person that I want to feel like… and a lot of that ends up just being huge, comfortable clothes. But I think I’ve recently started like tapping into the way that fashion can also be a version of self-care and sometimes [it’s] ‘fake it ‘til you make it’ in that department. If I’m not feeling particularly amped, for whatever reason, it helps my mood significantly to put on something that makes me feel more alive.
Gracie attributes her current style phase as making her feel as if she’s in “pyjamas” if she’s not performing at a gig.
She said: “I mean, right now, I’m into long trousers with a boot. I like boyish pieces, but also doing little subtle things that bring out my feminine side more. So I’m into the ‘90s slip skirt, a bralette with a sheer tank top. But then most days, I’m truly in baggy jeans and a huge hoodie. So it varies and especially being on tour, anytime I’m not onstage I feel like I’m in pyjamas.”
The Chanel ambassador labelled her good pal and ‘Good 4 U’ hitmaker Olivia Rodrigo “super sweet”
Grace said: “[She’s] just super sweet. Like honestly man, she’s such a great person, she just has like, the best heart.
“Being friends with her outside of our work stuff, I’ve known that, but to also then see her in her zone in a professional environment where there’s so many different people whose time and energy goes into making the show safe and able to happen… she so clearly creates such a beautiful environment to be around. And I think everyone who was a part of [the Sour] tour really felt that; it shone through every day.”
