Teyana Taylor ‘enjoys ageing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Teyana Taylor insists she “enjoys ageing” and only gets injectables to “smooth out her frown lines”.
The 31-year-old actress-and-singer has landed a brand partnership with the injectable firm Xeomin, but she has insisted she would never want to make herself look any younger.
She told Bustle: “[Getting injectables] is not gonna take me back to [looking] 16, 17, or 18.
“It’s just gonna smooth out my frown lines…and that’s simply what I use it for: to smooth out my frown lines. I’m very happy with my results, but I don’t feel like it made me any younger because I enjoy ageing.”
The ‘Coming 2 America’ star is scared of needles but insisted the pain wasn’t as bad as she anticipated.
In an interview with Essence, she said: “I wanted to make sure I was with a company where I felt safe.
“That was a big thing for me. I was really happy with my results, and especially for a person afraid of needles, it was super quick and wasn’t even really that painful.”
The Xeomin gig comes after Teyana joined forces with her daughter to create a new fashion line in the summer.
The star turned to her six-year-old daughter Junie for help and inspiration for her fashion venture called JuJuBeez.
Teyana – whose line offers matching children’s activewear styles for parents – said: “I’ve always wanted to create a world for Junie that shows there are no limits, fear isn’t real and you can do whatever you dream to do.
“This is one of many steps in an effort to change the narrative that is placed on women while growing up and being told what they can and cannot do. I want to change that narrative and I will – anything is possible.”
Teyana previously collaborated with the sportswear giant Reebok, and at the time, she was hailed by Todd Krinsky, the global vice president of Reebok Classic and Entertainment.
He said: “[Taylor] is a risk-taker who brings her own perspective to every project and she stands uniquely at the intersection of fashion, music and fitness.”

Jo Wood jokes she walked LFW catwalk because her pals ‘felt sorry for the old bird’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jo Wood quipped that she was asked to walk the catwalk during London Fashion Week because her friends felt “sorry for the old bird”.
The 66-year-old former model – who is the ex-wife of Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood – turned heads when she strutted down the runway in the sustainable brand VIN + OMI’s show in a sheer gown with her underwear on display in September.
Jo is invited every year but finally gave in this summer.
Speaking to the MailOnline, she said: “My friends, they do a sustainable fashion show and because I believe in everything they do, they use plastic to make material and stuff like that.
And they always ask me, I think they just feel sorry for me. So they ask me again and again. The old bird. Let’s get the old bird back in.
“I love to do that. It’s great. I do that because it’s very important to do something that you believe in.”
Meanwhile, Jo recently admitted moving to the country lessened the pressure she feels to have Botox.
She said: “It doesn’t seem as important as when I was in London and going to events all the time.”
However, she hasn’t ruled out all work entirely, adding: “I need to go and have my little dark marks taken off my face.”
Jo was previously left unable to smile for “six weeks” following a course of Botox injections.
She said: “I had it injected around my eyes 12 or 14 years ago. I then went out clubbing, jumping around to the music, and the next day my face had dropped down one side and I couldn’t smile for six weeks. That really put me off.
“Women are using it when they’re far too young – I don’t think it should be used at all, really. If women put it in their faces at a young age what’s going to happen to their faces when they get older? I know so many people who have had Botox or fillers, and I don’t think it’s a good idea for young girls to mess with themselves.”
Jo now aims to stay looking youthful through a combination of exercise and an organic diet but she wasn’t always so careful about what she put into her body and had a huge appetite for McDonald’s burgers.
She said: “For me, definitely, health awareness grows with maturity.
“My grandkids know never to ask for anything un-organic in my house – Granny only has organic chocolate.
“I was so obsessed with organic food that Keith [Richards] said to me one day, ‘The trouble with you, Jo, is that you are addicted to it. Men are a pain but he did say it with a twinkle.
“But once I started on my organic journey the Stones were quite receptive to it. I’m pretty sure that Mick [Jagger] and Charlie [Watts] are still that way. I know Keith is because his wife Patti cooks for him – and she’s right there with me on it!
“I had bad eating habits at one time – I used to love a McDonald’s but I haven’t had a McDonald’s since about 1991.”

Roland Mouret designs with Princess of Wales in mind

OHMYGOSSIP — Roland Mouret designs with Catherine, Princess of Wales “in mind”.
The 60-year-old fashion expert admitted he feels “proud” to see the princess wear his creations, such as when she walked the red carpet at the premiere of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ in one of his black and white column gowns earlier this year, and he thinks she’s a great representation of modern women.
He said: “She represents the way a woman grows, the way a woman stands not behind but beside. That sense of equality she has created — she’s powerful.
“I design with her in mind.
“It makes me feel proud to be able to do things that can help her. To make things that she feels protected in at that moment when the world is looking at her, I’ve done a little part in protecting her.”
Last November, Roland’s eponymous label went into administration but he received a lifeline by going into business with designer/ entrepreneur Han Chong.
The designer admitted that with the relaunch, his brand has changed.
He told Sunday Times Style magazine: “It’s for a different generation.
“You have to accept that time is going to shape what you do. We don’t put fabric on our body in the same way we did 20 years ago.”
And Roland acknowledged the dynamics of sexiness have changed too, which has influenced his new approach.
He said: “Femininity can be strength now. The non-gendered situation of our time obliges us to redefine femininity. She can wear a pair of flat boots with a sexy dress now. She can have a split to here, not because she wants to become an exotic attraction to the opposite sex, but because she thinks, ‘It’s my body, I do what I want and I like my legs and I show them.’ ”

Leni Klum got career ‘lift’ thanks to famous parents

OHMYGOSSIP — Leni Klum knows she “got a lift into” the modelling world because of her famous parents.
The 18-year-old beauty – who is the daughter of singer Seal and his ex-wife Heidi Klum – is “so grateful” for the boost she got early in her career but insisted she wouldn’t have continued to be successful in the fashion world if she hadn’t put in the work too.
She told People magazine: “It’s just a fact. My parents are famous.
“I did get help starting off, and I know that people would dream to start off with what I had. I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to take what was gifted to me by my mom.
“But I am doing the work and putting in the time. Now I’m working on my own, traveling alone, going to school. My mom and I just have the same love for the same thing.”
Leni – who recently moved to New York to study interior design alongside her modelling career – was first scouted when she was just 12 years old but her mother insisted she was too young to start working.
She recalled: “I was stopped in a Brandy Melville when I was 12 and they asked me to model for their clothes.
“I was freaking out because Brandy Melville was my favourite at the time. It was the only place I went shopping.
“I said, ‘Mom, Mom, guess what? Brandy Melville wants me to model. Please, please.’
“And she was like, ‘Absolutely not.’
“I was really sad about it, but in the end she was right. And I feel like that’s what sparked me to want to model more.”
When she was 16, Leni made her modelling debut alongside Heidi on the cover of Germany’s Vogue magazine and the teenager is thankful she got such an “insane” start.
She said: “That’s like insane that I did that as my first job and my mom was with me, which made it so much fun. It was just such a good day.
“I wasn’t nervous at all. I was just so excited. I was like, ‘I’m finally modelling and it’s Vogue.’
“It was just so many things to be excited about.”

Maya Jama’s make-up artist Anna Lingis shares Halloween tips

OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Jama’s make-up artist insists it is easy to create a Halloween look without buying special products.
The 28-year-old presenter always turns to Anna Lingis to create her beauty looks for 31 October and the make-up artist has shared her own tips to get the most out of everyday cosmetic items for the spooky holiday.
Anna said: “Creating show-stopping Halloween look doesn’t mean you need to purchase a million new different products.
“You’d be surprised what you can do with the makeup you’ve already got, such as utilising everyday items like a bold black eyeliner, red lipstick and festival glitter kits.
“Top tip: mixing red lipstick, thick clear lip gloss and a dash of creamy black eyeliner makes the perfect DIY fake blood mixture!
“To add some glam to your spooky looks, you can even mix some red glitter to fake blood to give it an extra sparkle.”
Anna has shared a tutorial for a ‘Purple Demon’ look, which is inspired by the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4’s Bora Purple, on her TikTok account and has encouraged people to move away from “classic” Halloween hues this year.
She said: “The classic Halloween makeup often features shades of black and orange.
“This year, traditional shades are being replaced with more vibrant alternatives, as beauty-lovers take inspiration from social trends and their favourite TV shows.
“Try applying bold colours such as bora purple with a metallic contrast, to stand out from the crowd. When it comes to contouring, choose a shade a few tones darker than your bases.
“With highlighting, you want to go a few shades lighter, so if you’re using purple you might choose a lilac for those brighter tones.”
And Anna warned people to look after their skin after applying so many products for their Halloween party looks.
She said: “Your skin will definitely be in need of some self-care after a full night of Halloween festivities. I would recommend using an oil-based remover or balm to remove heavier makeup and then to double cleanse removing everything with a microfibre cloth. This will ensure your skin is super clean. Make sure to follow with your usual skincare routine after this.”
Beauty lovers can follow Anna’s ‘Purple Demon’ step-by-step tutorial at https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMFBff5m1/ and learn how to capture the spookiest hands free selfie with the Galaxy Z Flip4.
As a Halloween treat, shoppers who buy a Galaxy Z Flip4 can claim a free Galaxy Watch4 before the 31st. Visit https://2021.samsungpromotions.claims/october_watch/en-GB for more.

Olivia Cooke adores the Savage x Fenty body acceptance ‘ethos’

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Cooke adores the Savage x Fenty body acceptance “ethos”.
The ‘House of the Dragon’ star – who is a model for the Rihanna-helmed lingerie brand – appreciates the way they create items that ‘adorn and enhance” people’s bodies.
The 28-year-old actress told British Vogue: “I love the Fenty ethos that all bodies are beautiful.”
“Having garments that adorn and enhance, not mask, makes you feel sexy and playful – who knew full-body fishnet stockings could look so good?”
Olivia admitted the supportive shoot – that included a background soundtrack of Kylie Minogue’s greatest hits – “didn’t really feel like lingerie modelling”.
She said: “It didn’t really feel like lingerie modelling – it felt like any other shoot where you’re forced to be more of a physical embodiment of yourself. The team were such champions behind the monitors – I need that in my life 24/7!”
The former ‘Bates Motel’ star – who was named as a model early last month – remarked how she “would jump off a cliff’ for the ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker when she got the gig.
On a selection of sexy snaps of her wearing the wares, Olivia wrote on Instagram: “Would jump off a cliff for Rihanna so this felt like a better option.”
The announcement came mere days after the ‘Slow Horses’ star shared about her “full mental breakdown” she had at 22 after filming ‘Thoroughbreds’ and ‘Ready Player One’ int such quick succession.
Olivia said: “It was bad. Awful, actually.”
“It was a big old lovely cocktail. Being homesick and not knowing it, having not stopped since I was 18, being on my own for large swathes of time.”

Vanessa Kirby loves 60s ‘style queens’ icons like Bridget Bardot and Catherine Deneuve

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Kirby loves 60s “style queens” icons like Bridget Bardot and Catherine Deneuve.
The ex ‘The Crown’ star also named ‘The Birds’ star Tippi Hedren and ‘A Woman Under The Influence’ star Gena Rowlands as “inspiring” to her own sense of fashion.
The 34-year-old actress told BAAZAR.com: “All the ’60s actresses, and the ones whose spirit and essence I find most inspiring—Gena Rowlands, Tippi Hedren, Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve—they’re the real style queens. The Grain de Café collection was designed in 1938 by the incredible Jeanne Touissant, and became particularly popular in the ’50s and ’60s, so you can really feel the history of it all.”
Vanessa – while reflecting on how her fashion sense has changed – acknowledged she loves “structured lines” when putting a look together while naming some of the fashion houses she loves, such as Givenchy, Valentino and Alexander McQueen.
She said: “Well, I like a sort of strong femininity, so I always like suits and more structured lines and [that] is why I love Valentino, McQueen and Givenchy; they embody femininity with color and strength.
The ‘About Time’ star likes to work with brands with creative directors – such as McQueen’s Sarah Burton, Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli and Schiaparelli’s Daniel Rosebury – she feels “drawn to”.
“I am so drawn to the designers, and deeply inspired by them, both as people and as artists. Sarah Burton and Pierpaolo Piccioli I absolutely love. I also adore Daniel Roseberry and what he is doing with Schiaparelli, as well as Matthew Williams at Givenchy.”
The Oscar nominee – despite her credentials – however has “never considered” herself to be “fashionable”.
Vanessa said: “I think it hugely influences how you feel. I’ve never considered myself at all fashionable, but I do know when you wear pieces—no matter how old or simple, in my case—that you love or that make you feel great, it’s a beautiful thing.”

Lindsay Lohan collects purses and ‘vintage clothing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lindsay Lohan collects purses and “vintage clothing”.
The ‘Mean Girls’ star revealed she “used to be impulsive” when out adding to her wardrobe but as she has grown older she is more thoughtful when making a purchase.
After being asked if collect anything as a hobby, the 36-year-old actress told Cosmopolitan magazine: “Purses. Vintage clothing. And vintage jewelry too, actually. If I see something, I’ll wait on it, and if I keep thinking about it a week, two weeks, three weeks later, then I will go get it. So I’m actually really good. I used to be like, get it right away. I used to be impulsive. I’m not anymore.
Lindsay says she was 16-years-old when she first tried out fake tan for her album, ‘Confessions’.
She said: “I think it might have been for ‘Confessions’. ‘Mean Girls’ was after, then we did ‘SNL’ and all that.”
The ‘Freaky Friday’ star is also “big on non intrusive facial experiences”.
Lindsay said: “I’m big on non intrusive facial experiences, anything I can do. I love lasers. I just started Morpheus8, which I’m obsessed with.”
The former child star admitted the “trick” for avoiding the pain is putting on numbing cream an hour before the procedure.
Lindsay said: “Here’s the trick: You have to ask them to give you the numbing cream ahead of time and put it on yourself at home an hour before you go.”
The ‘Falling for Christmas’ star admitted living in the social media age means people “don’t know” the full picture.
Lindsay said: “Right, because we only ever know what we see on the screen. We don’t know what’s happening behind it.”
Lindsay thinks social media can be good because in her 00s heyday she – and her contemporaries such as Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and other starlets -couldn’t “control our own narrative”.
Lindsay said: “I don’t even know. There’s too much of it. No, it is nice. Because now I feel like…when I first started out in the business, none of us had a say in how to control our own narrative. There were paparazzi pictures, and then people ran with it. So I think it’s really good that in this day and age, people can say who they are and who they want to be. And I admire and appreciate that. I’m a little jealous because I didn’t have that. But I think it moves really fast and I just try to keep up as best I can. And I check everything before I post it. I’ll send it to people. Because you have to.”

Jennifer Garner: I was so bad at doing my make up

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Garner used to be “so bad” at doing her makeup.
The 50-year-old actress explained that she “wasn’t allowed” to wear makeup in her high school days because her skills were not up to scratch and joked she ended up looking “like a clown” when painting her face for the stage but didn’t realise at the time that her natural skin was “pretty.”
She said: “, I was horrible at makeup. I was so bad that I cannot use a single picture from high school or college. I wasn’t allowed to wear it. Then when I did, the only makeup I had was stage makeup, and it was specifically ballet makeup. I was like a clown. It’s like pancake makeup—so bad. If only I could go back and scrub that girl’s face. I didn’t know then that skin is what was pretty.
The ’13 Going on 30′ star – who was previously married to Hollywood actor Ben Affleck and has Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10 with him – added that these days her skincare routine is all about “moisture” and has recently discovered the benefits of using eye cream.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “I only add [to my skincare routine]. I never take away. It’s just more moisture and more moisture. Things get a little thicker and heavier and yummier. It’s about keeping moisture in your skin and making sure your cells are turning over as much as you can. I’ve been a fan of Neutrogena’s Retinol Pro+ Serum for a long time, and this year they added an eye cream, and that’s my big new takeaway. That and the face cream. On my retinol nights, I do all three. That’s making a huge difference because after the summer you’ve got to brighten your skin back up.”

Paulina Porizkova: Wrinkles do not make me ugly

OHMYGOSSIP — Paulina Porizkova has insisted that having wrinkles does not make her “ugly.”
The 57-year-old Swedish model was married to singer Ric Ocasek – with whom she has children Jonathan, 28, and 24-year-old Oliver – from 1989 until he died at the age of 75 in 2019 and suddenly found herself “without a career” and “ignored by the population” but insisted that her aging face is not a sign of ugliness.
She said: “Before my husband died our marriage had disintegrated and we were already separated for two years and we were going through a divorce and the invisibility to my husband coincided with my invisibility to the rest of the world. was suddenly a divorced woman who had no career, had no way of making money and also was completely ignored by the population at large I thought that was not cool because I’m actually a lot cooler now than I was 20 years ago. I am way smarter. I have more patience. I’m more intellectually curious. I’m more generous. Everything about me is better. But I have wrinkles and that does not make me ugly. I just thought that’s unfair.”
The former ‘America’s Next Top Model’ judge – who was the first Central European woman to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 1984 aged just 18 – added that for women who have gone through the “grey divorce”, it is “not fair” that they remain unwanted when trying to “reclaim themselves” within the world.
She told WWD: “I think it’s a little easier to say, you know, but for the rest of us, for women who’ve gone through the gray divorce, which is now getting more and more prevalent, and then are out in the world maybe you did spend your time taking care of your kids and your family and now you’re reclaiming yourself and nobody wants you. Not fair and not cool.”

Cher loves high heels that feel like ‘stilts’

OHMYGOSSIP — Cher loves high heels that feel like “stilts”.
The ‘Believe’ hitmaker adores donning “big, big” heels because they make people – and their derrieres – “look so good”.
The 76-year-old pop superstar told BAZAAR.com: “I like the big, big high heels and platforms. When I did Balmain the other night, I was on shoes that I couldn’t believe—I felt like it was on stilts. But you look so good. And your butt looks good.”
Cher – whose career across showbiz spans more than six decades – believes nowadays people can “wear anything” and aren’t forced to confine themselves to arbitrary fashion rules.
She said: “Now it seems that you can wear anything, and it doesn’t make any difference which look you decide to wear. Before, when I was younger, you know, back in the log cabin days, I remember that there were specific things that women could wear. And it was so boring. And everyone was, like, wearing the same things. I didn’t do this, but, like, women had to have their skirts one inch below their kneecap. And, you know, my best friend and I were wondering when we’re gonna have to cut our hair, when we would be too old to have long hair. Now there’s freedom, and you could do anything, and that’s what I like more than anything else. I just like the freedom.”
The ‘Moonstruck’ star recalled loving YSL’s Opium – and buying it for all her pals – but being unable to get it in the US “because of the name”.
Cher said: “I remember I walked into Yves Saint Laurent and said, “Oh, my God, what is that?” And the girl said, “Opium.” I went, “No, come on. What is it?” I started getting all the girls Opium and sneaking it in my suitcases, because you weren’t allowed to buy it in the United States because of the name.”

Billie Eilish loves Olaplex

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish loves Olaplex hair care products.
The ‘bad guy’ hitmaker revealed she is a “big” fan of the range – which boasts a patented ingredient Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate – that promises to repair hair bonds damaged by heat styling, dying and other processes while detailing the regime for her tresses.
The 20-year-old musician told BAZAAR.com: “Well, I’m a big Olaplex nut—I use No.3 before I shower, their shampoo, conditioner, No.6, the oil, No.0—lots of Olaplex. And then, I use a lot of Davines, specifically the Minu shampoo and their Naturaltech collection. Those are the hair things I’ve been using for years, and I love how they all smell. I mean, that’s a big thing; hair products gotta smell good, you know what I’m saying? And then, I’ll use a body scrub—honestly, I’ll use anything, I love shower products. I also love using lots of body lotion, like the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanillé Soufflé Body Crème, and the other one I use is called Red Flower that has a palo santo smell that’s so nice.”
Billie admits she might “overdo” how much she sprays of her fragrance Billie No.2 to make sure it “lasts” during performances.
She said: “Well, I gotta do my wrists, all up my arms, but I overdo it, especially because I wear it a lot during shows and I go out into the crowd. And I want it to last, so I’m putting it on before shows, which are around an hour and 40 minutes so it has to last that long. And Eilish No. 2 does, which is really sick and a big priority for me. So I’ll overdo it: I’ll go all over my arms, I’m spraying my neck like a m***********, I’ll go under my shirt and all over my chest, sometimes on my, like, sternum or whatever. And then, sometimes I’ll spray my hair because it stays in your hair—I know you’re really not supposed to do that, but I do it. Sometimes I’ll spray the front or back of my shirt, my thighs—I don’t know, I just go crazy on perfume, dude.”
