Billy Porter changed Emmy Award wings

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Porter’s “wings” were clipped before the Emmy Awards on Sunday (19.09.21).
The ‘Pose’ actor – who lost out to ‘The Crown’s Josh O’Connor for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series prize – walked the red carpet at LA Live in an all-black outfit featuring long sleeves, gloves, trousers and dramatic ruffled wings on his arms, but admitted he’d originally planned for the outfit to look very different.
Speaking on ‘Live From E!’, he said: “Interestingly enough, this was supposed to go all the way to the floor, this little piece, and it didn’t. I started just playing with shapes and stuff in the mirror and it was like, ‘Well, they feels like wings.’ ”
But Billy – who teamed his outfit with Lorraine Schwarz jewellery, including a huge diamond and emerald necklace, two diamond bracelets and multiple rings and ear cuffs – felt the outfit was appropriate for his role in new movie musical ‘Cinderella’.
He quipped: “You know I am the fairy godmother!”
The 51-year-old star previously admitted he wants to send a “clear” message with his red carpet wear.
He said: “You know, I am now working with Ty Hunter who is my new stylist, and we really, through quarantine, have been able to just get a handle on and get in the driver’s seat of the train that took off.
“It just took off so quick that like, you know, I just wanted to make sure that what I’m saying as I walk onto these red carpets, into the events – as a walking piece of political art, that’s what I’m trying to be every time – that we’re clear.”
The 51-year-old actor has gone viral with his bold ensembles at the Oscars, the Met Gala, and Tonys.
And Billy previously said he puts outfits together by defining the event and creating a deeper meaning with his style.
He explained: “We decide by first trying to define what the moment is. What the event is about and then we go from there. I’m a very story-oriented person coming from being an actor, so I always try to have a narrative for myself so that there is always a reason and there’s always a point. I want to be a walking piece of art – political art – whenever I can, any time I show up. I let other people say that [I’m a fashion icon]. You know, show business is hard because you borderline on confidence and arrogance, so I’m trying to be on the confidence side. I’m going to let other people call me a fashion icon at least for the next couple of years and then I’ll do it myself. But that’s what people are saying.”

Millie Mackintosh admits motherhood has changed her outlook

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Mackintosh thinks motherhood has changed her attitude towards fashion.
The 32-year-old star has suggested she’s become less wasteful since giving birth to her daughter Sienna in May last year.
Millie – who is currently pregnant with her second child – shared: “We hold on to a lot of pieces because of an emotional attachment. If you’re not actually going to wear it again, it’s nice to let someone else make new memories in it.”
Millie is a new ambassador for TK Maxx’s Give Up Clothes for Good campaign, which encourages Brits to donate a bag of clothes to their local store in support of Cancer Research UK.
The TV star explained that since becoming a mother, she’s being asking herself: “Am I realistically going to wear that again? Am I going to fit in it again? Does it still feel like me?”
Millie also considers renting to be a “clever way around” wasting clothes.
She told Grazia: “For a special occasion like a wedding or a christening, I’m going to take lots of photos. I feel like that dress has had its moment in a way. Maybe I would wear it again in a couple of years but that’s also not great when you’re trying not to hold on to too many things.
“Renting is a really clever way around that.”
What’s more, Millie revealed that her daughter is already following her lead when it comes to fashion.
The brunette beauty admitted that Sienna already feels confident and outgoing whenever she gets dressed up.
She explained: “When you dress her up in an outfit, she goes to the pushchair! She wants to go out!”

Kendall Jenner’s 818 supports the Jalisco community

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendall Jenner wants her tequila brand to support the Jalisco community.
The 25-year-old model was accused of culturally appropriating Mexican culture earlier this year, when she starred in a controversial advertising campaign for 818 Tequila, but Kendall has now revealed how she and her brand are supporting the community where the drink is made.
The brunette beauty – who was previously accused of spreading misconceptions about Mexican culture – said on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’: “At our distillery, which I was just at the other day, we found a way to take the agave fibres and water waste and build sustainable brick that were are actually dominating back to the community of Jalisco.
“Along with saving the planet it’s important for us to be friendly to the community as well. We’re donating them and building homes for people that need homes.”
Andy Coronado, who co-owns La Gritona Tequila with businesswoman Melly Barajas Cardenas, previously bemoaned celebrities like Kendall entering the drinks industry.
He warned that celebrity tequila companies “pull away resources from smaller brands”.
Andy ​said: “It is a commodity, and it boosts the prices. It leaves the rest of the tequila world to trying to … survive.”
Meanwhile, Melly thinks the drinks industry is becoming more globalised.
She said: “If you say tequila, you immediately think about Mexico.
“I would love for it to be known all over the world by whoever because although an American creates their own brand and whether you like it or not, Mexico also sees that money because there’s no other country.”

Naomi Campbell: I want to uplift the next generation

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell has pledged to do everything she can to “uplift the next generation”.
The 51-year-old model was recently named as a global ambassador for the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and Naomi has promised to help to “create a better future” for young people.
She explained: “This is something very close to my heart, and I will continue to do everything I can to uplift the next generation, so they can create a better future for their communities.”
The London-born star is set to work with people aged between 18 and 35 across the Commonwealth, in a bid to provide them with training and funding.
And Naomi feels honoured to have been handed the role.
She said: “It is my privilege to accept this role as global ambassador for The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust.
“Regardless of where you are from or where you are now, there are young leaders within your community doing amazing work. Sometimes they are not seen and some of them may not even see themselves as ‘leaders’ yet, but they all deserve our support, and access to education and resources.”
Christopher Kelly, the CEO of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, is also looking forward to working with Naomi.
He explained that the model and her profile will help to “shine a spotlight on the service, innovation and achievements” throughout the Commonwealth.
Meanwhile, Naomi announced the arrival of her first child in May.
And a source previously revealed that she’d been thinking about motherhood for years before welcoming her baby girl.
The insider explained: “She’s wanted a baby for a long time, more than 10 years.

Nicola Peltz joins Brooklyn Beckham in new Pepe Jeans campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Peltz has joined fiance Brooklyn Beckham in his latest campaign with Pepe Jeans.
The iconic brand has recruited the couple for their ‘Just Us’ fall campaign, which launched today (16.09.21), and sees the pair kiss and display their love for each other in an intimate set of snaps by Luigi & Iango, and an ad by the artist Zhamak Fullad.
The loved-up pair can be seen donning denim, the Pepe Jeans London signature logo T-shirt, the Perfecto Eco-Leather Jacket and print puffer jacket in the shoot.
Marcella Wartenbergh, chief executive officer of Pepe, commented that it “felt like a natural progression after our first collaboration with Brooklyn. We love the artistic twist that Nicola manages to add to her looks while still in keeping with a casual style, and we think this fits fantastically with Pepe Jeans.”
In his previous campaign with Pepe earlier this year, the son of retired football ace and fashion designer David and Victoria Beckham, 46 and 47, respectively, snapped himself by the ocean to promote their sustainable Wiser Wash denim.
The likes of Dua Lipa, Cara Delevingne, Alexa Chung and Sienna Miller have been the face of Pepe.
Pop megastar Dua, 26, partnered with the popular brand for its spring/summer 2019 campaign and went on to create her own collections.
The ‘Cold Heart’ hitmaker admitted designing for Pepe was a “dream” come true because she wanted to make it accessible for everyone, and “discover” different “shapes, styles and fabrics”.
She said at the time: “I wanted my first ever collection to be about discovering core shapes, styles and fabrics, to establish the direction and mood with a few flourishes!”

Rege-Jean lands new role at Longines

OHMYGOSSIP — Rege-Jean Page is the new face of Swiss watchmakers Longines.
The former ‘Bridgerton’ star – who starred as Simon Basset, the suave Duke of Hastings, in the hit Netflix period drama – has admitted it was a no-brainer to work with the luxury brand as he insisted he is “capable of elegance” just like the “beautiful” timepieces.
He said in a statement: “It’s simple, really. Longines makes such beautiful watches. There is something very special about being able to work with things that bring beauty to the world. I’m capable of elegance and I like to hold myself to a standard of elegance, which means carrying myself with a certain consciousness. Part of that is generosity and living in a way that is helpful to other people. In doing that, you can bring more beauty to the world.”
Matthias Breschan, chief executive officer of Longines, hailed their new brand ambassador for redefining elegance.
He said: “An actor with Regé-Jean’s talent, poise and presence only comes along a few times in a generation. He has already accomplished so much but it is clear that this is only the beginning of what will be a magnificent career. Meanwhile, the ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ star previously revealed he worked out at 5am every day to prepare for his ‘Bridgerton’ romps.
The 31-year-old actor revealed he was put through his paces by a strict personal trainer at the crack of dawn each day, in order to build up his strength for all the “physical activity” between his character and Phoebe Dynevor’s alter ego, Daphne Bridgerton.
Rege-Jean said: “There’s a lot of physical activity involved, so I was on the full ‘Rocky’ regime for it. I was up at 5am every day, going to the gym, meeting my trainer.“He was horrible to me for an hour and a half every morning before the day started. I got my strength up just from surviving him.
“Luckily, the pretentious actor in me could justify that, because I always start building a character from what their physical language is. But you are also serving the audience in a genre that is about fantasy and glamour.”

Gucci’s floral perfume reminds Miley Cyrus of her grandmother

OHMYGOSSIP — Miley Cyrus says Gucci’s Flora Gorgeous Gardenia scent transports her back to memories of her grandmother.
The ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart’ hitmaker is the face of Eau de Parfum, which was relaunched this summer, and she has revealed the floral fragrance reminds her of her relative.
She told Vogue.co.uk: “It brings me back to her and all of our amazing memories together.”
What’s more, the perfume “represents” the 28-year-old pop megastar’s “free spirit”.
She said: “[When I smell this perfume] I think … of my garden at home, which is unruly and free.
“It represents my spirit. It’s important to allow nature to be its truest, most authentic, magical self, and that’s what I embody when I’m wearing Flora.”
For the campaign, the singer appears in a series of photos and a “fanciful” video directed and photographed by Petra Collins, with Alessandro Michele serving as creative director.
The latter said: “The Flora Gorgeous Gardenia campaign is a challenge to reinterpret the world of flowers in an unexpected way. “The inspiration comes from Miley Cyrus, an artist with a spirit that is both rock ‘n’ roll and eclectic at the same time.”
This isn’t the first time Miley has collaborated with Gucci.
Earlier this year, she posted a series of photos and clips from her Super Bowl LV TikTok Tailgate pre-show performance in Florida, in which she was wearing a custom cropped sequinned T-shirt from the fashion house, which featured Alessandro’s lucky number, 25.
And in April, she shared a “short selfie film” ahead of the Gucci Aria presentation, in which she wore a green suit and shades covered with their iconic GG logo, surrounded by the invite to the show, her pet dogs, and fake giant mushrooms.
Meanwhile, the ‘Midnight Sky’ hitmaker recently insisted “everyone deserves unique skincare”.

Billie Eilish dreamed of wearing ballgown

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish had always dreamed of wearing a “proper ballgown” to the Met Gala.
The ‘bad guy’ hitmaker walked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (13.09.21) in frothy blush Oscar de la Renta gown, which was inspired by the tulle dress the late Marilyn Monroe wore to the 1951 Academy Awards and loved having the chance of living out a childhood fantasy.
However, Billie’s original vision changed after she paid homage to the Hollywood beauties of old when she covered British Vogue magazine in June 2021 and she decided to make her look more classically glamorous.
British Vogue style director Dena Giannini, who styled the 19-year-old singer for the Met Gala, said: “Billie had planned to go to the Met Gala for the first time before the pandemic happened.
“She had always dreamed of wearing a proper ballgown – particularly something corseted, thanks to her love of Barbies growing up – but she thought that it might be in an acid-green colourway or something along those lines.
“After her British Vogue cover, though, her style began to evolve. After reviewing about a million images together, she and I decided that it had to be Oscar de la Renta for the Met Gala. I called [creative directors] Laura [Kim] and Fernando [Garcia], and within 10 minutes, we’d agreed to collaborate together.”
One criteria Billie insisted on for her dress was no fur as she finds it “shocking” that animal skins have still not been banned in fashion.
She told Vogue.com: “I find it shocking that wearing fur isn’t completely outlawed at this point in 2021.
“I am so beyond thrilled that Fernando and Laura and the rest of the Oscar de la Renta team heard me on this issue, and have made a change that not only makes an impact for the greater good for animals but also for our planet and environment, too. I’m honoured to have been a catalyst and to have been heard on this matter. I urge all designers to do the same.”

The 24-year-old gymnast attended the annual Costume Institute Gala in New York for the first time on Monday (13.09.21) night and donned a custom AREA x Athleta look designed by Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk, which featured a night sky-inspired bodysuit and a mini dress under a skirt embellished with thousands of Swarovski crystals and needed several people to help her move up the steps at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
And though Simone admitted the dress was “heavy”, she felt “beautiful” as she walked the red carpet.
She told Vogue: “How do I feel in the dress? It’s definitely heavy, but I feel beautiful, strong, and empowered.
The Olympian also explained to ‘Entertainment Tonight’ that the dress offered a visual representation of gymnasts, thanks to “the flexibility and the beauty” of the ensemble.
Simone’s outfit marked the first time Athleta have designed a gown for fashion’s biggest night.
A spokesperson for the brand said: “This moment is particularly emblematic of Athleta’s commitment to supporting their athletes as whole people, and recognising their passions and achievements in and outside of sport.”
It was announced in April that Simone would be teaming up with their Athleta Girl on a number of capsule collections for young athletes.

OHMYGOSSIP — Iman thought her Met Gala outfit sent a “hopeful” message.
The 66-year-old supermodel caused a stir on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (13.09.21) when she arrived for the annual Costume Institute Gala in a huge gold feathered headpiece by Harris Reed, which was complemented by a matching hoop skirt cage layered over a strapless gold jumpsuit and matching chandelier earrings, bracelets and rings, and the Somalian beauty loved the “ray of light” the outfit offered during such a “dark” time amid the coronavirus pandemic.
She told Vogue: “He approached me, and then he sent me this drawing, which … I fell over.
“I thought it was beautiful because it really felt hopeful, a ray of light after all the darkness we felt. So, I thought this was a perfect outfit for it.”
And Iman insisted the tiered gold halo headpiece wasn’t uncomfortable to wear, despite its huge size.
She told People magazine: “It’s not heavy at all.”
Iman was thrilled to work with “young designers, young blood”, for fashion’s biggest night, while Harris was thrilled to team up with someone so “iconic”.
He gushed: “I tried to think of the most iconic woman in the world, and it really came as Iman.”
This year’s Met Gala, which had the theme ‘America: A Lexicon of Fashion’ was delayed from its usual date on the first Monday in May, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020 event was cancelled entirely because of the global health crisis.
Measures were put in place for Monday’s event, including a requirement for guests to wear masks at all times, except when eating and drinking, and attendees were asked to provide proof of vaccination.

OHMYGOSSIP — Channing Tatum has thanked Donatella Versace for making his “wildest dreams” come true at the Met Gala.
On Monday night (13.09.21), the ‘Magic Mike’ star – who was spotted leaving the fashion fundraiser at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art with girlfriend Zoe Kravitz – got to don a classic Versace tux on the red carpet and later slipped into one of the Italian luxury fashion house’s “otherwordly robes”.
And it was a full-circle moment for the 41-year-old actor, who tried out to walk in Versace’s fashion shows for years unsuccessfully in his early modelling days.
Taking to Instagram to share a selfie of himself in the custom robe with his first name emblazoned across the back, as well as throwback snaps of Donatella and the iconic fashion company’s late founder, Gianni Versace, he wrote: “So 20 years ago (holy f***) i was a kid stand in a room of what would be probably thousands of guys trying to get picked for the shows in Milan.
“God knows how many they actually saw. Hoping to get picked to walk in the spring show. I never got to walk for Versace in the maybe 6 or 7 seasons in went to the shows.
“But last night to get to wear this……. other worldly robe…….. and to wear the most classic Versace tux. Cut boxy like Gianni wore in the 90’s was beyond my wildest dreams. Yara Shahidi’s Met Gala gown honoured 1920s heroine Josephine Baker

OHMYGOSSIP — Yara Shahidi’s Met Gala gown paid homage to the late Josephine Baker.
The ‘Black-ish’ star recently became the face of Dior and teamed up with the French fashion house and her stylist Jason Bolden to honour the American-born French entertainer, French Resistance agent, and civil rights activist – who devoted much of her life to fighting racism – with her 1920s-style look at the fashion fundraiser in New York on Monday night (13.09.21).
The 21-year-old actress, model and activist told Vogue: “My goal was to pay homage to [a] powerhouse renegade black American artist.
“I just hope I was able to do that.”
And they were in luck, as Christian Dior was a friend of Josephine – who died of a bleed on the brain (Cerebral Hemorrhage), aged 68, on April 12, 1975 – and they were able to browse the Dior archives for inspiration.
Bolden said: “We start from a place of inspiration.
“Sometimes that is history; sometimes it’s culture – we always begin somewhere interesting.
“We used archival photos [during research],” says Bolden. “The ones we loved most were from her American tour where she wore only Dior!”
They ended up going for an embroidered dress complete with a tulle cloak.
To top off the dazzling ensemble, they accessorised with a veil, gloves, and a Cartier necklace made of yellow diamonds and onyx.
Bolden gushed: “Seeing her on the carpet felt like magic.”
On the gala’s theme of ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’, Yara added: “It’s so interesting. Even though the focus was “American fashion” it’s clear that the perspective is global.”

Naomi Osaka’s Met Gala ensemble took 150 hours to complete

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Osaka’s Met Gala outfit took 150 hours to complete.
The 23-year-old tennis ace’s head-turning ensemble, which was custom made by Louis Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquiere with the help of her sister, Mari, included 22 ruffles made from 18 metres of leather satin and paid homage to her Japanese and Haitian roots.
On the lengthy process, she said: “My sister and I work on a lot of fashion and design projects together, but this one was really special. We did a few sketches, and then had a long meeting with Nicolas [Ghesquiere, Vuitton’s creative director] where we shared ideas between the three of us. He’s been so great to work with and I’m really grateful he was able to guide us and help bring the vision to life.”
The theme at Monday night’s (13.09.21) Met Gala was ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’, and the sisters wanted to reflect “the diversity of America” with the unique outfit.
Osaka explained to WWD: “This look was an ode to my Japanese and Haitian heritage. My sister actually designed the print herself, which incorporated a really cool koi fish design. We really wanted to celebrate where we come from and the way our multicultural background reflects the diversity of America.”
On what inspires her fashion choices, the court champion added: “I’m always drawn to pieces that are totally unique, and also looks that tell a story. I think that’s actually why I love my Met look so much — because it does both of those things. The dress, the hair and the make-up were all unique, and the full look helps to tell the story of both my own background and also the cultural beauty of America.”

Erin O’Connor has ADHD

OHMYGOSSIP — Erin O’Connor has been diagnosed with ADHD.
The 43-year-old model has welcomed the news she has the neurodevelopmental disorder because it has helped her to understand herself better and she’s now returned to education because she has been able to figure out what methods of learning suit her best.
She told Stella magazine: “I’ve discovered that I’m ADHD, which is new. In retrospect, it’s very helpful to be able to piece it together and understand certain things in my personality and growing up. I’m actually currently resitting my maths GCSE.
” It just means a lot to me personally, now that I understand how my brain wants to function and store information. I’ve been able to understand how I can become a more straightforward learner.”
Although she is still modelling, Erin – who has sons Albert, seven, and Eddie, two, with partner Stephen Gibson – is more selective of the jobs she takes on these days because she doesn’t find posing for pictures particularly “stimulating”.
She admitted: “I’m not overly invested in being passive or the recipient of someone else’s creativity any more. I’ve reached a point where standing in the corner in a dress, however spectacular, isn’t entirely stimulating.”
However, the catwalk beauty is enjoying working during a time when models of her age and older are just as in demand as ever as she always knew it could be a short career.
She said: ” Modelling is fleeting, so you can never really plan for the future. I was always aware and wary of that.
“You don’t drop off a cliff after the age of 25, you continue to grow, and have a better understanding of who you are and how you want to express yourself so actually, what’s strange is that it wasn’t happening before. Inadvertently, I’m very happy to champion that just by doing my job.”

Lil Nas X turns heads on VMA red carpet

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil Nas X stole the show on the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) red carpet with his lavender suit-dress hybrid.
The 22-year-old singer – who went on to win the prestigious Video of the Year accolade for ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’, as well as Best Visual Effects and Best Direction at Sunday’s (12.09.21) ceremony – arrived at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn wearing a show-stopping Atelier Versace creation which sparkled with hundreds of gemstones and sequins.
The luxury label noted on Instagram: “The asymmetrical off-the-shoulder design features a lace-up back detail that cascades to long train and is enriched with hand-applied crystal embroidery.”
The ‘Old Town Road’ hitmaker’s stylist, Hodo Musa, accessorised the creation with matching boots, butterfly earrings and long tumbling locks.

Megan Fox went ‘naked’ to VMAs for Machine Gun Kelly

OHMYGOSSIP — Machine Gun Kelly wanted Megan Fox to be “naked” at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday (12.09.21).
The ‘Jennifer’s Body’ actress caused a stir on the red carpet at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center thanks to her sheer illusion dress by Mugler, which showed off her silver underwear and she explained her boyfriend – who wore a custom crimson patterned tuxedo – had had a huge hand in deciding her look for the evening.
She joked to ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “He was like, ‘You’re gonna be naked tonight.’ I was like, ‘Whatever you say, daddy!’ ”
Megan admitted she was “so proud” of her boyfriend, who went on to win the Best Alternative award for ‘My Ex’s Best Friend’ and performed ‘Papercuts’ with collaborator Travis Barker during the ceremony.
She added: “He’s the most talented boy in the world.”
And after appearing alongside the 31-year-old star in his ‘Bloody Valentine’ music video, Megan joked he won’t be casting any other women in future clips.
She said: “He’s not allowed to have other h**s in his music videos. It’s the queen no one!”
Megan and Travis’ girlfriend, Kourtney Kardashian, introduced the performance of ‘Papercuts’ to the audience, describing the singers as their “future baby daddies”.
Megan shouted: “New York, I need you to get extra loud for our future baby daddies.”
And Kourtney added: “Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker!”
Ahead of the ceremony, MGK and Conor McGregor were spotted squabbling on the red carpet.
A source told TMZ that Conor put his hand out to introduce himself to Kelly, but the star’s team allegedly pushed him away.
Other footage showed the UFC star – who had some of his beverage spilled in the scuffle – later throwing what was left of his drink on the red carpet.
Conor later insisted “absolutely nothing” happened, and branded Kelly a “vanilla boy rapper”.
He said: “I don’t know. He showed up, and I don’t know. I don’t know the guy.
“Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean?
“I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers.
“I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”
