Khloé Kardashian’s BFF Malika Haqq is pregnant

OHMYGOSSIP — Malika Haqq is pregnant. The 36-year-old actress and reality star is set to become a mother for the first time, as she revealed she is currently 14 weeks pregnant and due to give birth in March.

She said: “I have always wanted to be a mother and it’s still a little bit surprising but I’m overjoyed! I’m a very emotional person anyway, but this is another heightening of emotion … I feel really good about where I am in my life being pregnant now.”

The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star – who is best friends with Khloe Kardashian – has chosen not to make the identity of her child’s father known to the public. During an early ultrasound, the beauty – who has a twin sister named Khadijah – was told she may be expecting twins when her doctor detected two heartbeats, and has admitted she was relieved to learn that it was just one baby and the pulse was in both the fetus and umbilical cord due to their proximity.

She added: “I would love to have twins, just not my first pregnancy. It would’ve been cute, but it was also nice to find out that the first one out is just a single.” Malika has already found out the sex of her unborn tot, but is keeping it under wraps for now.

She said: “Learning the baby’s sex was a big deal for me and now I feel like I have time. I have time to think about nursery ideas, to think about a name. I’m just really enjoying now, getting to a point where I can celebrate being pregnant and [it] not being a secret.”

And so far, the star has had an easy pregnancy, as she’s not had a single day of sickness. She told People magazine: “I have been incredibly blessed. I have not been sick a day. Not one day. That, for me, has probably been the thing I’ve been so grateful for thus far – coming second to knowing that I have a healthy baby.”

Kristen Stewart wants people to stop playing Charlie’s Angels theme song

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Stewart can’t get the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ theme song out of her head. The 29-year-old actress – who is starring alongside Naomi Scott, 26, and Ella Balinska, 22, in Elizabeth Banks’ upcoming spy reboot – begged people to stop sharing Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey’s infectious collaboration ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’ because it’s too catchy.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she laughed: “I would like everyone to stop posting that song. Literally, I like can’t get away from it. Actually, what I mean is, Charlie’s Angels is sick and I love that song. And I do! But, it’s, like, a lot… The thing is, I haven’t heard all of it, so I only know that [chorus]. Maybe if I could hear all of it it might be a satisfying experience… But thank you for being on our soundtrack!”

Filmmaker Banks, 45, also opened up about the all-star lineup for the movie’s hit single, and she admitted it was “a dream” to land Grande, 26, for the soundtrack. She said: “Ariana Grande came in really early on to executive produce the soundtrack for the movie. I was really obsessed with the ‘Black Panther’ soundtrack and how one artist [Kendrick Lamar] sort of took over and really represented not just the theme of the movie but the audience of the movie.

“And [Grande is] so perfect [for this soundtrack] and she really loves ‘Charlie’s Angels’, and it’s been a dream.”

Meanwhile, Stewart previously revealed she agreed to star in the film because filmmaker Banks has always been supportive of her. She said: “I did ‘Charlie’s Angels’ because I’m a huge fan of Liz Banks and I always felt she vouched for me. I always felt, like, she doesn’t think I’m a freak.”

Kristen Stewart was told sexuality would ruin career

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Stewart was told she would ruin her chances of landing a role in a Marvel movie if she was seen holding her girlfriend’s hand in public. The ‘Twilight’ star – who is currently dating Stella Maxwell and has previously romanced the likes of St. Vincent and Robert Pattinson – decided to reevaluate the types of people she works with in the film industry after someone told her that her sexuality would impact the likelihood of her securing a big part in a superhero blockbuster.

Speaking in the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK, she said: “I have fully been told: ‘If you just like do yourself a favour, and don’t go out holding your girlfriend’s hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie.’ I don’t want to work with people like that.”

And that’s not the first time someone has commented on her fluid sexuality. She explained: “Well, I think I just wanted to enjoy my life. And that took precedence over protecting my life, because in protecting it, I was ruining it. Like what, you can’t go outside with who you’re with? You can’t talk about it in an interview? I was informed by an old-school mentality, which is – you want to preserve your career and your success and your productivity, and there are people in the world who don’t like you, and they don’t like that you date girls, and they don’t like that you don’t identify as a quote unquote ‘lesbian’, but you also don’t identify as a quote unquote ‘hetero-sexual’. And people like to know stuff, so what the f**k are you?’

“I just think we’re all kind of getting to a place where – I don’t know, evolution’s a weird thing – we’re all becoming incredibly ambiguous. And it’s this really gorgeous thing.”
The October issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK is on sale from September 5, 2019.

Elton John and His Star-Studded Friends Throng for a Charity Gala at Cap D’Antibes

OHMYGOSSIP – The British popstar Elton John is about to launch one of the Summer’s most star-studded events next Wednesday, July 24. It’s a Midsummer Party and Gala that promises to be memorable and he’s holding it in the spectacular Villa Dorane in Cap d’Antibes.

It’s all to benefit his Foundation against AIDS, created in 1992. Pianist, showman, Elton the incomparable pop star has decided on a unique gathering of his friends – a first for him – among which are already announced actors Taron Egerton and Richard Madden who is talked about as a potential next James Bond. Taron Egerton, of course, was the incarnation of Elton John in the film Rocketman which is steaming along in France with 650.000 filmgoers watching. They are in subtle competition with fans in the US who have spent 90 million dollars already on tickets for the film.

The show-stopping moment at the Villa Gala will be a performance by Chris Martin, the leader of Coldplay.

The evening is choreographed around a Provençal dinner (Midsummer Party) and an auction orchestrated by Simon de Pury; all this is taking place in what is Johnny Pigozzi’s “Palace on the Riviera” Villa Dorane. Jean “Johnny” Pigozzi is an art collector, photographer, fashion designer and heir to the Simca automobile brand. His Villa has traditionally been a famed meeting place of many stars including Mick Jagger, Bono, Naomi Campbell and Lewis Hamilton. All the celebrity around the Gala will help galvanize attention on a good cause: to raise funds for treatment and to prevent the spread of the HIV virus.

Other names also linked to the fight against SIDA and rumoured to be part of the gathering are Julia Roberts, Sharon Stone, Jamie Bell, Quincy Jones, Katy Perry and Jean Paul Gaultier. Possibly Philanthropist Lily Safra may also make an appearance.

The goal is to raise lots of money to fight AIDS. Elton John has emphasised that in 2019 no one need contract or die from the disease. And for people already infected there are treatments available that allow one to lead a normal life.

The Red Carpet event will be starting at 7pm and then the feast and auction take the fore from 8.30 pm.

Elton is taking this opportunity to combat AIDS in the midst of his tour which has a stellar venue in October 2020 in Paris.

Bella Thorne claims she’s lost work as ex Mod Sun has her passport

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella Thorne claims she has “missed” a “big work opportunity” because ex-boyfriend Mod Sun has her passport. The 32-year-old rapper – who split from the 21-year-old actress-and-singer in April – recently claimed he was going to sell her belongings on eBay and though he insisted his comments were a joke, there is still bad blood between them as he claims the ‘Famous in Love’ star “served paperwork” to stop him speaking about her and suggested there are still unresolved business agreements they need to work through.

And now she has revealed she is losing out on work because she claims he has her passport and computer. Speaking on SirusXM’s ‘The Jenny McCarthy Show’, she said: “I just recently missed this big work opportunity I had because of this passport situation. “I need my script-writing computer back . . . I’m finishing my series. It’s a final draft.”

Mod also claimed the brunette beauty owes him money. He told TMZ: “I thought I made a really funny joke about it, I got served paperwork for that one. She blew me up like 30 times that night, I’m in such a confused place. ‘Your joke wasn’t funny, we think you’re serious’. I obviously wasn’t going to sell her clothes on ebay, that was a joke.

“[The paperwork said] ‘You can’t talk about anything, you can’t say anything.’ Stop though, stop that. There’s money owed to me, there’s business not done, there’s contracts that are signed. I did a lot for that girl and there’s a lot that didn’t get solidified business-wise because I was in love… And that’s not the case any more. It’s got to be resolved or it’s going to court.”

Mod – whose real name is Derek Smith – previously urged fans to keep an eye on eBay as he’d sell his former lover’s possessions on the auction site if she didn’t collect them. When asked whether he still had some of Bella’s stuff, he said: “Yeah it’s still here it’s at the storage unit the Mod Sun storage unit, still currently. I still have it and I figure if she doesn’t get it soon I’m gonna have a really, really poppin eBay site so keep your eyes open.”

He jokingly added: “It’s going like hot cakes, it’s going off the lot, it’s quick, it’s in style right now.”

Bella – who his now dating Benjamin Mascolo – later took to Twitter to slam the rapper for being “hungry” for “press” and accused him of calling the police when she attempted to retrieve her laptop from his house. She tweeted: “Awww looks like moddy really wants some press. #hungry also didn’t u call the cops on me when I wanted my computer? U p***y (sic)”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave £7000 wedding present to Idris Elba and new wife Sabrina Dhowre

OHMYGOSSIP – With a royal baby due any day now, they had a very good reason for not attending – but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sure made up for their absence at Idris Elba’s wedding with a pricey gift. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave the actor, 46, and his new wife Sabrina Dhowre, 30, an impressive piece of artwork worth £7,000.

It was revealed that the couple had got married earlier this week during three days of lavish celebrations in Marrakesh, Morocco. According to the Mail On Sunday, the newlyweds had been sent a piece by the Connor Brothers as a wedding present from their royal friends. The stunning picture – by the British artists behind the trendy pseudonym, James Golding and Mike Snelle – is of a 1950s-style book cover of a glamorous, blonde woman.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BknDt2rg9OA/

Perhaps fittingly for the successful Luther star and rumoured future Bond lead, it is emblazoned with the words: “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”

Last year, the Connor Brothers shared an image of the same artwork on their Instagram. They revealed that the quote was from children’s author Dr Seuss. When they first arrived on the art scene, the duo claimed to be Missouri-born twins who had been raised in an extremist Christian cult. Their canvases humorously adapt famous book covers, with authors from Shakespeare to Hunter S. Thompson getting their clever satirical treatment. Interestingly, since their backstory was revealed to be false they have become hugely successful – and can now count royalty among their fans.

Harry and Meghan are believed to be at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor awaiting the arrival of their firstborn.

While they missed out on joining 150 other guests at the luxurious Ksar Char Bagh hotel where Sabrina, a former Miss Vancouver, walked down the aisle in a stunning Vera Wang dress, the parents-to-be posted several adorable photos of themselves with kids to mark the 70th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth.

Wife of Google’s executive chairman Eric Schmidt, yacht owner and philanthropist Wendy Schmidt: Wealth is a responsibility

OHMYGOSSIP – “Wealth is a responsibility,” superyacht owner Wendy Schmidt tells Georgie Ainslie. So she built the fuel-efficient, 46 metre ketch Elfje – and founded 11th Hour Racing, to help safeguard the oceans.

Wendy Schmidt could do nothing for the rest of her life. She could jet from one seven-star destination to another, embraced forever in a world of supreme luxury that only 10 billion in the bank can guarantee. But that’s not her style. Instead, she’s taken on the small task of trying to save the world’s oceans – and building her very own sailing yacht to race on them.

“Only five per cent of the ocean floor has been mapped to date, so we know more about the backside of the moon than we do about the bottom of the ocean.”

As the wife of Google’s executive chairman Eric Schmidt, who has amassed a $9.1 billion fortune innovating technology and changing the way we communicate, you can’t blame her for thinking anything is possible with ideas and application. “We’ve been extremely lucky in our lives. You have to make a decision about what you’re going to do with that. Wealth is a responsibility, one way or another,” she says, alluding to the Schmidt Family Foundation, and its 11th Hour Project, founded in 2006 to support the wiser use of our energy, food and water resources in a world where, Wendy and Eric contend, “everything is connected”.

* Wendy Schmidt (born Wendy Susan Boyle; 1955)[1] is an American businesswoman and philanthropist. She is the wife of Eric Schmidt, the former Executive Chairman of Google, whom she met in graduate school at the University of California, Berkeley. She is the president of the Schmidt Family Foundation.

She was born in 1955 in Orange, New Jersey. Her parents owned an interior design firm, Boyle Design Associates.

She graduated from Smith College in 1977 and attended graduate school at the University of California at Berkeley. While there, she met Eric Schmidt, then a doctoral student in computer science, and edited his thesis. They married in June 1980.

After graduating in 1981 with a master’s degree in journalism, she joined the marketing department of Sun Microsystems, where Eric Schmidt later worked as well. She left Sun in 1986 to start an interior design firm, which she ran for 16 years. Wendy and Eric Schmidt have two daughters, Sophie and Alison.
Philanthropy

In 2005, Schmidt became a trustee of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and founded the 11th Hour Project to raise awareness about climate change and global warming.[2] In 2006, Wendy and Eric Schmidt established the Schmidt Family Foundation to address issues of sustainability and the responsible use of natural resources.[3][4] She is the president of the foundation and directs its grant making. As a yachtswoman, Schmidt has taken a personal interest in promoting some of the 11th Hour Project’s ocean awareness programs through competitive sailing.

After the establishment of the foundation, The 11th Hour Project became its main direct charitable program. ReMain Nantucket, founded in 2007 by Wendy Schmidt, is a program area of The Schmidt Family Foundation focused on the economic, social, and environmental vitality of downtown Nantucket, Massachusetts.

In 2009, Wendy and Eric Schmidt created the $25 million Schmidt Transformative Technology Fund at Princeton University to support research and technology in the natural sciences and engineering. The Fund awarded $1.2 million in grants in 2010 and $1.7 million in grants in 2012.

In 2010, through the Schmidt Family Foundation, she offered the prize purse of the Wendy Schmidt Oil Cleanup X Challenge, a challenge award for the efficient capturing of crude oil from seawater motivated by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Schmidt has supported propositions and politicians in California. She gave $1 million to Proposition 87, a failed 2006 initiative to raise taxes on oil companies to pay for research and incentives to support alternative energy; $50,000 to the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act, which was approved by voters; and $25,900 to Jerry Brown’s successful campaign for Governor of California.

She serves on the boards of the Natural Resources Defense Council, the California Academy of Sciences, Climate Central, the X Prize Foundation, Grist, the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, V-Day, Maiyet, The Nantucket Dreamland Foundation and is a founding circle member of The Nantucket Project. She also serves on the America’s Cup Organizing Committee in San Francisco.

Pierre Casiraghi: Prince William and Prince Harry also deserve their privacy

OHMYGOSSIP – Pierre Casiraghi* has given an interview to Boat International magazine discussing sailing, but he also found time to share his opinions on Prince William and Prince Harry, and how they deserve their privacy. In the interview, journalist Stewart Campbell notes that Casiraghi is reticent to discuss his royal connections – his mother is Princess Caroline; his uncle Prince Albert II of Monaco; his grandparents Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace (Hollywood actress Grace Kelly).

“When our conversation veers too closely to what it’s like being royal in a principality whose population barely touches 40,000, he withdraws a little, disappearing behind a half smile and narrowed eyes. His answers come slower, after a pause,” Campbell writes.

When the pair discuss sailing, the conversation flows smoother.

Casiraghi talked about the need for privacy, saying that “Everyone deserves their privacy.

“I understand people are curious [about our family], but that’s not privacy. Privacy is something that touches you and your immediate circle. It’s a question of respect.”

With regards to his counterpart in the United Kingdom, Casiraghi says, “Poor William and Harry! I mean, listen, it’s very difficult to compare us. Great Britain is a very big place with a lot of people; we come from a very small place with different traditions. But they also deserve their privacy.”

Casiraghi also spoke about sailing as a release for him, and how it affords him the privacy he craves.

“As a kid, I was always reading books about adventure, about being outside. It was always something I wanted to do, and the first time I went sailing on my own or went out with a friend, it was just freedom. No one could come and tell me, ‘Go there,’ or ‘Do this.’ It felt like a mini adventure just for me.”

Talking about his upbringing with older siblings Andrea and Charlotte, he says that “We were like any other kids. You go to school every morning, come home in the evening, do your homework. We were conscious that our situation wasn’t exactly the same as everyone else’s, but I don’t think it affected us.”

He studied law and economics at university and works with a helicopter firm called Monacair, and the construction company his late father Stefano founded, called Engeco.

Speaking of Prince Albert, he says that his uncle has done a lot to encourage sporting in the principality.

“Prince Albert has definitely set Monaco on a sports path, and I think that’s amazing. So many sportspeople live here, and it’s not just for tax reasons. If you go to the stadium, you have every sport from fencing, swimming, diving, boxing, you name it. All the track and field.”

Casiraghi doesn’t really compete any more, taking a behind the scenes role when it comes to sailing, mainly because of his family with wife, Beatrice Borromeo, which includes sons, Stefano and Francesco.

“I miss some parts of it. I miss some of those feelings when you share an extreme moment…with the team.”

* Pierre Rainier Stefano Casiraghi (born 5 September 1987) is the younger son and youngest of three children of Caroline, Princess of Hanover, and her second husband, Stefano Casiraghi. His maternal grandparents were Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and American actress Grace Kelly. Casiraghi is eighth in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne, following his twin cousins, his mother, brother Andrea, nephews Alexandre and Maximillian Casiraghi, and his niece India Casiraghi.

Casiraghi was born in 5 September 1987 at Princess Grace Hospital Centre, in La Colle, Monaco. He is named after his maternal great-grandfather, Prince Pierre, Duke of Valentinois, his maternal grandfather, Prince Rainier III, and his father. His godparents are his uncle, Prince Albert II, and his aunt by marriage Laura Sabatini Casiraghi, the wife of his uncle Daniele. Casiraghi was three years old at the time of his father’s death in a boating accident. He spent his earliest years, after his father’s death, living at his mother’s farmhouse in the quaint town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

He attended a state school in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. However, after his mother’s remarriage to Ernst August, Prince of Hanover, the family moved to Fontainebleau, to be nearer to Paris and London, the latter being where his new stepbrothers lived with their mother. It is assumed that Casiraghi passed the French Baccalaureate exam in the summer of 2005 since he shortly afterwards began university. One year later, in fact, he moved to Milan to begin a three-year undergraduate course in International Economics and Management at Bocconi University. Besides French, he is fluent in Italian, English, and knows some German. He also plays the saxophone.

It is believed that he uses his economics degree towards learning the business of his father’s companies, which are also managed by his uncle Marco.

Casiraghi was linked to a number of young women during his university years in Milan, where he was photographed out and about with fashion models. Casiraghi has been in a relationship with the journalist Beatrice Borromeo since May 2008. They were married in a civil ceremony on 25 July 2015 in the gardens of the Prince’s Palace of Monaco. The religious ceremony took place on Isola Bella on 1 August 2015. Pierre and Beatrice’s first child, Stefano Ercole Carlo, was born on 28 February 2017. Their second child, Francesco Carlo Albert was born on 21 May 2018.

In February 2012, Casiraghi was briefly hospitalized following a physical altercation at a New York nightclub. According to media reports, Casiraghi approached the table of businessman Adam Hock, models Natasha Poly, Anja Rubik and Valentina Zelyaeva, whereby words were exchanged and an altercation ensued. Hock was arrested on four counts of assault, and is alleged to have struck Casiraghi as well as three male friends. Hock, who was charged on eight counts of misdemeanor assault, alleges that Casiraghi was the aggressor and that he assaulted Casiraghi and his companions in self-defence. Casiraghi was treated at New York Presbyterian Hospital for a laceration, bruising, and swelling of his face.

Halsey to receive Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey is set to receive the Hal David Starlight Award* at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala. The ‘Bad At Love’ hitmaker “can’t believe” she is following in the footsteps of the likes of Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys and John Legend in being selected as this year’s recipient of the prestigious prize, which was created in 2004 to honour David’s influential work as a lyricist.

Halsey** tweeted: “Can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m honored to be receiving the Hal David Starlight Award at this years Songwriters Hall Of Fame Gala joining this list of writers who have inspired me is top 10 career moments for me (sic)”

The Songwriters Hall of Fame’s Chair, Nile Rodgers, commented, “I’ve watched Halsey grow over the last five years and every record seems to be better than the last one, so I’m delighted that she’s being recognised in this much-deserved way.”

Whilst The Hall of Fame’s President and CEO, Linda Moran, praised the 24-year-old pop star – whose recent hit ‘Without Me’ has spent 20 consecutive weeks in Billboard’s Hot 100’s top five – for baring her soul with “heart-wrenching, rebellious and complex lyrics” and said the ’11 Minutes’ singer is “more than worthy” of joining the previous recipients.

She said: “Halsey bares her soul with heart-wrenching, rebellious and complex lyrics that come from a place of creativity and strength where not many songwriters are comfortable going. She is more than worthy to join the roster of the young songwriters who have received the coveted Hal David Starlight Award.”

Halsey will join this year’s Hall of Fame inductees, which include Dallas Austin, Missy Elliott, Tom T. Hall, John Prine, Jack Tempchin and Cat Stevens, at the ceremony on June 13 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Sara Bareilles was honoured with the Hal David Starlight Award last year.

______________________________

* The Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHOF) was founded in 1969 by songwriter Johnny Mercer and music publisher/songwriter Abe Olman and publisher/executive Howie Richmond to honor those whose work represents and maintains the heritage and legacy of a spectrum of the most beloved songs from the world’s popular music songbook. It not only celebrates these established songwriters, but is also involved on the development of new songwriting talent through workshops, showcases and scholarships. There are many programs designed to teach and discover new songwriters. Nile Rodgers serves as the organization’s chairman.

The Hall of Fame only existed as an online virtual collection until 2010, when it was first put on display as a physical gallery inside The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. With an under-construction basement installation at the Brill Building in New York, the Hall does not have a permanent place and the awards are not televised.

Through 2019, 461 individuals had been inducted into the SHOF.

There are numerous examples of collaborating songwriters being inducted in unison, with each person being considered a separate entrant. The inaugural year featured 120 inductees, many of whom had a professional partnership, such as Rodgers and Hammerstein. Burt Bacharach and Hal David followed in 1972. Betty Comden and Adolph Green were selected in 1980, and Lieber and Stoller were inducted in 1985. John Lennon and Paul McCartney were inducted in 1989 along with Gerry Goffin and Carole King as well as Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. Motown’s Holland-Dozier-Holland team were honored the following year. Elton John and Bernie Taupin were among those chosen in 1992, and the pop music group the Bee Gees had all three brothers inducted in 1994. 1995 saw Gaudio and Crewe and Gamble and Huff. The Eagles’ Glenn Frey and Don Henley were co-inductees in 2000. Queen was the first rock band to have all their band members inducted in 2003. Five members of Earth Wind & Fire were in the class of 2010, and four members of Kool and the Gang were honored in 2018.

** Ashley Nicolette Frangipane (born September 29, 1994), known professionally as Halsey, is an American singer and songwriter. Her stage name is a reference to the Halsey Street station of the New York City Subway in Brooklyn, and an anagram of her first name.

After gaining attention from self-released music on social media platforms, Halsey was signed by Astralwerks in 2014. She then released her debut EP, Room 93, in October 2014. To promote the EP and her upcoming album, Halsey toured with larger acts. Her debut studio album, Badlands, was released in 2015. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Badlands released three new singles, all of which were certified Platinum and achieved commercial success; it also produced a rereleased single, which was certified Gold. To promote the album, Halsey embarked on her debut headlining world tour.

In 2016, Halsey was featured as a vocalist on The Chainsmokers’ single “Closer”, which achieved major commercial success, topping the charts of over 20 countries and gaining Halsey greater prominence. Her second studio album, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, was released in 2017 and debuted at number one in the US and Canada. The album consisted of more “radio friendly” music than her previous releases; four of its singles charted on the Billboard Hot 100, with “Now or Never” peaking at number 17 and “Bad at Love” peaking at number five. In 2018, Halsey sang with Khalid for Benny Blanco’s debut single “Eastside”, which topped the charts of five countries and peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. Later that year, she released a single titled “Without Me”, which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and also reached the top five of sixteen other countries’ charts.

Halsey is noted for her distinctive singing voice. Her music focuses on her personal experiences and telling a story. Her awards and nominations include four Billboard Music Awards, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, one GLAAD Media Award, one Global Award, and a Grammy Award nomination. Outside of her career, she has been involved in suicide prevention awareness and sexual assault victim advocacy.

Ashley Nicolette Frangipane was born on September 29, 1994, in Edison, New Jersey. Her parents dropped out of college after her mother discovered that she was pregnant with her. Her mother, Nicole, works for security in a hospital, and her father, Chris, manages a car dealership. Chris is primarily of African-American descent with some Irish heritage, while Nicole is of Italian, Hungarian, and Irish descent. Halsey has two younger brothers, Sevian and Dante. She played the violin, viola, and cello, until moving on to the acoustic guitar when she was fourteen years old.

Throughout her childhood Halsey’s family moved frequently, and her parents worked many jobs. By the time she reached her teen years Halsey had been enrolled in six different schools, stating that the frequent moving during her childhood caused her to be “used to packing up and leaving, to condensing myself into a digestible version because people don’t have much time to get to know me.” In high school Halsey participated in theatre, and was the yearbook editor. She was also named “Best Artist”. During high school Halsey was bullied for her tattoos and shaved head, and struggled with body image. A nude photo of her was once stolen from her locker and shown around her school, causing ridicule from other students. Also during high school Halsey was a fan of “emo” music and attended a Panic! at the Disco concert where she received a unique wristband, which she lost to a bully at school. After Halsey became famous she met the lead singer of the band, Brendon Urie, who in response to her story gave her two wristbands and a bouquet of flowers. At seventeen Halsey attempted to commit suicide and survived, which led to a seventeen day hospitalization. Following this, she was diagnosed as bipolar, stating that her mother also struggles with bipolar disorder. She began using recreational drugs soon after, claiming her bipolar disorder caused her to become an “unconventional child” who grew up to be an “inconvenient woman.” Also when she was seventeen, she started seeing a man who was twenty-four and lived on the Halsey Street in Brooklyn. Halsey stated “That’s where I first starting writing music and where I started to feel like I was a part of something bigger than my town in middle of nowhere New Jersey. Halsey is kind of like a manifestation of all the exaggerated parts of me, so it’s like an alter ego.” She also stated that the word “stuck out” to her. In 2012, Halsey graduated from Warren Hills Regional High School in Washington, New Jersey.

After graduating, Halsey enrolled at the Rhode Island School of Design; however, she withdrew due to financial hardships and attended community college instead. Prior to college, she had relationships with other women, but stated that in college she started identifying as bisexual. Halsey eventually dropped out of community college and was kicked out of her home by her parents, stating “They just didn’t agree with a lot of things about me”. Soon after she started living in a basement in lower Manhattan with a group of “degenerate stoners” who she knew through her then-boyfriend. When she wasn’t living there, she occasionally lived in one of New York’s many homeless shelters. When describing this period of her life, Halsey stated, “I remember one time I had $9 in my bank account, and bought a four-pack of Red Bull and used it to stay up overnight over the course of two or three days, because it was less dangerous to not sleep than it was to sleep somewhere random and maybe get raped or kidnapped.” She would occasionally stay with her grandmother.

Nipsey Hussle’s family break silence following his death

OHMYGOSSIP — Nipsey Hussle’s* family have dubbed the late rapper as a extraordinary man, following his death. The rapper was tragically shot and killed outside his clothing store in Los Angeles at the age of 33 on March 31, and over a week after his passing, his family have recalled his “unlimited intellectual capacity” and “respectful” nature.

His mother, Angelique Smith, said: “He recognised at an early age his own capability. His own potential. He has always known. [He will be] remembered as a humble, spirited, respectful man who had, since his childhood, had an extraordinary and unlimited intellectual capacity.”

Nipsey’s father Dawit Asghedom also praised his late son, saying he was “sent by God” to bring “love” to the people who listened to his music. He added: “It was like he was sent by God to give some love to bring us together because that’s what his lyrics were saying, always. He’s not shy to tell the truth even though it might not look good. He wasn’t scared of anything. [God] sent him to send a message. We all have a plan, but God has his own plan. So he had completed what he needed to be doing and he did it early so [God] probably want to take him early too.”

Whilst Nipsey’s girlfriend Lauren London – with whom he had two-year-old son Kross – has said she will “always represent” everything her late partner stood for. Speaking in a joint interview for the Los Angeles Times, she said: “I’m going to keep my head high and always represent for my king to the fullest. He loved his kids. He was a family man. His family came first.”

Lauren, 34, previously spoke out about Nipsey’s death on social media, where she said she was completely lost without him. She wrote at the time: “I am completely lost. I’ve lost my best friend, my sanctuary, my protector, my soul. We are lost without you babe – I have no words.”

* Ermias Joseph Asghedom (August 15, 1985 – March 31, 2019), known professionally as Nipsey Hussle (often stylized as Nipsey Hu$$le), was an American rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and community activist from Los Angeles, California. Emerging from the West Coast hip hop scene in the mid-2000s, Hussle initially became known for his numerous mixtapes, including his Bullets Ain’t Got No Name series, The Marathon, The Marathon Continues and Crenshaw, the last of which rapper Jay-Z bought 100 copies of for $100 each. After much delay, his debut studio album Victory Lap was released in February 2018 to critical acclaim and commercial success, and was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in 2019.

On March 31, 2019, Hussle was fatally shot outside his store, Marathon Clothing, in South Los Angeles. Eric Holder, a 29-year-old man who had confronted Hussle earlier in the day, was arrested and charged with murder on April 2, 2019.

Asghedom was born on August 15, 1985, and raised in the Crenshaw neighborhood of South Los Angeles. He was of African American and Eritrean descent.

Hussle joined the local Rollin 60’s Neighborhood Crips gang. His stage name, a play on the name of comic Nipsey Russell, originated as a nickname, given to Asghedom by a friend while in his teens.

When asked about his background during an interview, Asghedom said,

“I was raised in L.A. by my mom, you know my mom’s family is Black American. I always knew my heritage from my dad but I never met my family. My dad was the only one in America—everybody else was back home. So when I went out there [Eritrea] it educated me to the other side”.

His three month visit to Eritrea in 2004 inspired him to become a community activist with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Hussle and actress Lauren London began dating in 2013. They had a child together, born on August 31, 2016. London has a child from a previous relationship with fellow rapper Lil Wayne, while Hussle has a daughter, Emani, from a previous relationship.

According to police sources, on March 31, 2019, Hussle was shot multiple times in the parking lot of his store, Marathon Clothing, in South Los Angeles at about 3:25 p.m. Hussle was hit five times in the torso and once in the head. Two others were wounded in the shooting. All three victims were transported to a hospital, where Hussle was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. He was 33 years old. Upon hearing the news, numerous celebrities offered their condolences on social media.

Police have identified 29-year-old Eric Holder as a suspect. Investigators believe Holder was known to the rapper and that the shooting was possibly motivated by a personal matter. On April 2, 2019, Holder was apprehended by members of the Los Angeles Police Department.

In March, Hussle had contacted officials from the LAPD to arrange a meeting with him and Roc Nation about what they could do to help prevent gang violence in South Los Angeles. The meeting had been scheduled to take place on April 1, 2019. Hussle was murdered the day before. According to Los Angeles Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff, the meeting will still take place at a future date, in Hussle’s honor.

Emilia Clarke: We should ban photo editing apps. I think that we can find our inner beauty by looking inwards and not outwards

OHMYGOSSIP — Emilia Clarke* wants to see photo editing apps “banned”. The 32-year-old actress has slammed online photo editors and programs like Photoshop, because she says it’s not right for people to be putting heavily edited pictures on their social media pages, as it sends the wrong message to young people who believe the edits are normal.

She said: “I struggle with the girl next door also editing their pictures. It’s not right. Where is that human interaction? I think that the apps that make people airbrush themselves and look thinner or look clearer skinned should be banned. I don’t think this s**t should be on the phone for young people. I do not agree with it, I do not like it, it doesn’t make me feel good. I don’t do it on my Instagram. I filter, sure, everybody’s got to filter! But ain’t no way that I’m going to retouch that stuff.”

And the ‘Game of Thrones’ star says people are “really screwed” now, because there’s so much “bloody nonsense” being uploaded to social media. She added: “I think that we can find our inner beauty by looking inwards and not outwards. Seriously. Now we’re really screwed because we’ve got the editing, we’ve got the shading, we’ve got all that bloody nonsense. They don’t look like that. Ain’t nobody look like that!”

Emilia wants to see all women accept their body type for what it is, and insists there is “nothing wrong” with anyone’s figure. Speaking to Miss Vogue magazine, she said: “Lean into your body type. It’s not that only that body type can wear that, and only that body type can wear that. There’s nothing wrong with being tall and skinny, there’s nothing wrong with being an absolutely bone normal size 12 or being anything bigger than that. Nothing wrong with it.”

* Emilia Isobel Euphemia Rose Clarke (born 23 October 1986) is an English actress. She studied at the Drama Centre London, appearing in a number of stage productions, including one by the Company of Angels. After making her screen debut in a short film, her television debut came with a guest appearance in an episode of the British soap opera Doctors in 2009. The following year, she was named as one of the UK Stars of Tomorrow by Screen International magazine for her role in the Syfy film Triassic Attack (2010).

She rose to international prominence for her breakthrough role as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones (2011–present). The role has garnered her critical acclaim and several accolades, including three nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

She made her Broadway debut as Holly Golightly in a production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 2013. Her film roles include Sarah Connor in the science fiction film Terminator Genisys (2015), Louisa Clark in the romance film Me Before You (2016), and Qi’ra in the Star Wars anthology film Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018).

Clarke was born on 23 October 1986 in Westminster, London and grew up in Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Her father was a theatre sound engineer from Wolverhampton, West Midlands. She has an older brother. Her interest in acting was sparked at the age of three after seeing the musical Show Boat, on which her father was working. She was educated at Rye St Antony School, Headington, and at St Edward’s School, Oxford, leaving in 2005. She attended Drama Centre London, and graduated in 2009.

She is of partial Indian descent as she stated in a 2018 interview that her maternal grandmother was born as the result of a secret affair between her great-grandmother and a man from the Indian subcontinent. Her grandmother wore light makeup to hide the dark complexion she had inherited from her father. She credits this background for her family having a “history of fighters”, saying: “The fact that [my grandmother] had to hide her skin colour, essentially, and try desperately to fit in with everyone else must’ve been incredibly difficult.”

Clarke’s early work includes two plays at St. Edward’s, ten plays at Drama Centre London, the 2009 Company of Angels production of Sense, and two 2009 commercials for Samaritans. One of her first film roles was for a University of London students’ short film. Her first television roles were Saskia Mayer in a 2009 episode of the British soap opera Doctors and Savannah in Syfy’s 2010 film Triassic Attack. Screen International magazine named her as one of the “UK Stars of Tomorrow”.

In 2010 she was cast as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. She was cast after fellow British actress Tamzin Merchant was replaced for undisclosed reasons. In an interview, Clarke stated that she did the funky chicken and robot dance during her audition. The show debuted in April 2011 to positive reviews and was quickly picked up by the network for a second season. She won the 2011 EWwy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role as Daenerys. In 2013, She was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards. She was nominated again in the category in 2015 and 2016.

She has received widespread praise for her portrayal of Daenerys, which traces an arc from frightened girl to empowered woman. Matthew Gilbert of The Boston Globe called her scenes “mesmerizing”, adding that “Clarke doesn’t have a lot of emotional variety to work with as Daenerys, aside from fierce determination, and yet she is riveting.” Todd VanDerWerff for The A.V. Club commented on the difficulty of adapting such an evolution from page to screen, but concluded that Clarke “more than seal[s] the deal here. In 2017, she reportedly became one of the highest paid actors on television, earning £2 million per episode of Game of Thrones.

In 2012, she appeared in Spike Island, a film named after the location of The Stone Roses’ seminal 1990 gig. From March to April 2013, she played Holly Golightly in a Broadway production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a role requiring her to perform a nude scene. That year, she also starred in Dom Hemingway alongside Jude Law. Critical reaction to the film was mostly positive, though it was a commercial failure.

In May 2014, it was announced that she had joined the feature film Garden of Last Days alongside James Franco, but the movie was scrapped two weeks before production was due to begin. She was offered the role of Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey but turned down the part because of the nudity required. She played Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys (2015), opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jai Courtney, and Jason Clarke. The film grossed over $400 million worldwide, but received generally unfavourable reviews from critics, although Clarke did receive nominations for awards like the Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer Movie Star – Female and Germany’s Jupiter Award for Best International Actress.

In 2016, she starred as the female lead, opposite Sam Claflin, in the movie adaption of the best selling book (of the same name), Me Before You, released on 3 June 2016. The film was a commercial success, grossing over $200 million worldwide and is Clarke’s highest-rated film on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. For her role as Louisa Clark, she shared nominations with Sam Claflin for the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Liplock and the MTV Television Tearjerker Award.

She played the lead as Nurse Verena, in the film Voice from the Stone which was released on April 2017 in limited release, video on demand and digital HD.

In November 2016, she was cast as the female lead in Solo: A Star Wars Story, released worldwide on 25 May 2018. She is also attached to the films The Guns of August,a opposite Helena Bonham Carter, and Above Suspicion, opposite Jack Huston. In January 2017, she was cast as the lead in the upcoming English language adaptation of the 2015 Korean romantic comedy, The Beauty Inside.

In late 2018, Clarke and Charlie McDowell confirmed they were dating via an Instagram post they both made on her birthday.

She lives in Hampstead, London. In 2016, she purchased a $4.64 million house in Venice Beach, California.

She was voted the most desirable woman in the world by AskMen readers in 2014. She was named Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive in 2015. In 2017, she was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone.

In July 2016, her father died from cancer. Clarke was filming Above Suspicion in Kentucky at the time and unable to be home for her father’s final days. She wrapped the movie early but arrived at the airport in London to learn that he had just died. “The world felt like a scarier place once my dad wasn’t in it,” she said. “And then those two things [the other being Brexit] happening in quick succession threw me off balance and made me re-evaluate who I am.”

In a March 2019 article she wrote for The New Yorker, she revealed she had a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a form of stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm, in 2011. She underwent urgent endovascular coiling surgery, and subsequently suffered from aphasia, at one point unable to recall her own name. She had a second aneurysm surgically treated in 2013.

Amanda Seyfried gave Claire Holt breastfeeding advice

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Seyfried has given Claire Holt breastfeeding advice. The ‘Vampire Diaries’ alum welcomed her first son James into the world just 12 days ago, and on Monday (08.04.19) she shared an honest Instagram post in which she lamented the struggles of a “tough feed” which had left her “exhausted, in pain, and feeling defeated.”

She wrote: “This was me yesterday after struggling through a tough feed. Exhausted, in pain, feeling defeated. I’ve had many moments like this since my son arrived. My only concern is making sure his needs are met, yet I often feel that I’m falling short. Motherhood is an overwhelming combination of bliss and self-doubt. I try to remind myself that I can’t be perfect. I can’t be everything for everyone. I just have to do my best and take it one hour at a time. Thankfully, this little guy is worth every second of struggle. Mamas out there – tell me I’m not alone?? (sic)”

And in response to the post, ‘Mamma Mia!’ actress Amanda – who has two-year-old daughter Nina with her husband Thomas Sadoski – shared her own advice on how to make feeding slightly easier on her body.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BwCuoAFlXBS/

https://www.instagram.com/p/BwAN-dRFyRJ/

The 33-year-old actress replied: “I gave myself two days off in the first week so I wouldn’t be scared and sad every time she woke up to feed. And it helped so much. No guilt. Just pump and bottle. And then did both throughout. Less pressure. You’re not alone.”

Meanwhile, Claire, 30, recently admitted she was left feeling “broken and ashamed” when she suffered a miscarriage before the birth of her son. She said: “Our journey certainly hasn’t been an easy one. When we decided that we wanted to try for a baby, we were lucky to conceive fairly quickly. I remember feeling so joyful and excited when two lines appeared on the pregnancy test early last year.

She continued: “Sadly, we lost the baby late in the first trimester. It was devastating and I felt broken and ashamed. Because I experienced such intense grief, I found it very difficult to process things and move on. Thankfully, we were blessed with another pregnancy around five months later.”

Ariel Winter’s cousin is battling a life-threatening illness

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariel Winter’s cousin is on life support. The ‘Modern Family’ star took to her Instagram story on Monday (08.04.19) to share the heartbreaking news that her cousin Tino was “rushed to the hospital” and placed on “life support”, though doctors aren’t sure what is wrong with him.

She wrote: “Last Friday my cousin Tino was rushed to the hospital and put on life support. The wonderful doctors at the hospital he is currently at have worked tirelessly to find out what is making him sick. They said that if he hadn’t gone on Friday he most likely wouldn’t have made it. They have made some progress diagnosing him and he is a little bit better, but will be in the hospital and unable to work for a long time.”

Ariel, 21, went on to ask her fans to donate what they could to his GoFundMe account, which has been set up to help pay for his medical bills and keep him afloat whilst he’s out of work.
She added: “I love my cousin so much. He is an incredible person that deserves all the love and support in the world. It would mean a lot to me if anyone would consider donating to his recovery fund. Anything helps.”

And on Tuesday (09.04.19), Ariel’s ‘Modern Family’ co-star Sarah Hyland made a whopping donation of $2,500 to the fundraiser, allowing the project to raise over $16,000 in less than 24 hours.
Sarah’s donation comes as she herself has been battling health problems over several years. The 28-year-old actress suffers from kidney dysplasia and has undergone two transplants for the illness, after the first one she had – when the organ was donated by her father – failed.

In response to ‘Leaving Neverland’: Michael Jackson’s family release their own documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Jackson’s family have released their own documentary in response to ‘Leaving Neverland’. The family of the late King of Pop – who passed away in 2009 – have released ‘Neverland Firsthand: Investigating the Michael Jackson Documentary’ on YouTube, and the 30-minute film aims to refute allegations of child sexual abuse against the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker made in the HBO documentary by Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who both befriended Michael as children.

Prior to his passing, Michael repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, and was acquitted in 2005 in a different child sex abuse case, where Wade testified on his behalf. ‘Neverland Firsthand’ features interviews with Michael’s nephew Taj Jackson and niece Brandi Jackson, as well as with his longtime technical director Brad Sundberg, who regularly stayed at Michael’s Neverland Ranch estate and says he never saw any children at the ranch who looked “abused”.

Brad said: “Not in a million years did I ever see a child around Michael Jackson that looked like they had been distressed, hurt, abused. [Neverland] was such a peaceful, safe, fun place.”
Whilst Brandi slammed Wade – whom she dated for seven years – as an “opportunist”.

She said in the film: “He has always been a bit of an opportunist. He knows how to position himself into different situations that will benefit him in a financial way. He’s saying that he was in a relationship with my uncle, that they were in love, and that they were having a relationship, if you will. He’s saying that my uncle kept him from women, which is not true. We were just talking about how my uncle put us together. It would discredit the things that he’s trying to claim, and I find it fascinating that he thinks he’s able to just erase 10 years of his life.”

However, an attorney for Wade has discredited Brandi’s claims. In a statement, the attorney said: “Ms. Jackson was not with Wade and Michael Jackson when the sexual abuse occurred, and as such, she has nothing relevant to say about the topic.”
