Sylive Cachay’s body found in hotel bath

Sylvie Cachay has died at the age of 33. The fashion designer was found dead in an overflowing bathtub at the exclusive Soho House hotel, CBS News reports.

Cachay had checked into the private hotel with ex-boyfriend Nicholas Brooks, the son of Academy Award-winning composer Joseph Brooks. Nicholas was not at the hotel when Cachay’s body was discovered, although he is being questioned by police.

Cachay — a swimsuit designer who had been recognized in the pages of Vogue, Glamour and on countless runways — was found partially clothed in the bathtub with a bite mark on her hand and red marks on her neck that may suggest strangulation, police say. Bottles of prescription medication were also found in the hotel room. Police have not pressed any charges yet, reports the New York Daily News.

In a statement released Friday, a spokesperson for they SoHo House, said the hotel “extends sincere condolences to the Cachay family. We are continuing to liaise with all the relevant authorities involved. Our thoughts are with Syvlie’s family and friends.”
