Ant McPartlin set to appear on Saturday Night Takeaway

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant McPartlin will appear on ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ this weekend.
The 42-year-old TV star was recently charged with drink-driving after being involved in a collision in London, which led to him being stood down from the popular ITV show, but Ant will still make an appearance on the upcoming episode during some pre-recorded scenes.
A TV insider explained: “There’s been some discussion about whether the whole of the series should be ditched because Ant features heavily.
“But after a lot of soul searching it was decided that the final two episodes should run because viewers have loved the series and want to find out the conclusion in the final two episodes.
“Obviously it means Ant will still be on the show in some form.”
However, ITV bosses are reportedly locked in discussions about how the situation surrounding Ant – who has entered rehab – should be dealt with on the upcoming show.
The source told The Sun newspaper: “At the moment talks are taking place about exactly how his situation in regards to the drink driving charge and rehab will be addressed.”
‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ was cancelled over the weekend in light of the situation with Ant.
But his presenting partner Dec Donnelly is set to host the remainder of the current series without the help of his long-time friend.
In a statement last week, Dec explained: “Whilst I never thought I’d be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we’ve decided that the remaining two shows of this series of ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ will go ahead.
“We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that. Everyone at ITV and the ‘Takeaway’ team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series. Dec x.(sic)”
