Josh Cuthbert for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Union J’s Josh Cuthbert is reportedly being eyed for a place on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 25-year-old singer found fame with boy band Union J on ‘The X Factor’ in 2012, and he could well be set to appear on television screens once again, as BBC bosses are reportedly lining him up for a spot on the Latin and ballroom dance competition when it returns to screens later this year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Josh has caught the eyes of producers and they’re seeing if he could take part. He could easily be a fan favourite. He’s young, in good shape and can dance. He’d be a strong signing.”
Producers are no doubt hoping the hunk will emulate the success of McFly drummer Harry Judd, who waltzed his way to victory in 2012.
Not many celebrities have been speculated for the next series of the show – which was won by ‘Holby City’ star Joe McFadden last year – as of the time of writing, but Brooke Vincent recently expressed a wish to appear on the programme.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star finished in second place on ice-skating competition ‘Dancing on Ice’ earlier this month, and she isn’t ready to stop dancing just yet.
She said: “I’d love to do ‘Strictly’, it’s a lovely show.
“I hadn’t been dancing and I hadn’t been skate trained. But with ice skating, half of your battle is that you’re not going to fall flat on your face.
“With ‘Strictly’, that battle is taken away.”
‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Gemma Collins has also expressed a wish to take to the dancefloor, but was met with criticism by judge Craig Revel-Horwood, who claimed she wasn’t “high calibre” enough to take part.
He said: “Gemma Collins would be fun on the show but it’s not very often that we have reality stars take to the ballroom. We generally have people of a higher calibre than that.”
