Blake Lively already working on Met Gala gown

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Lively has already started work on her dress for the Met Gala in May.
The 30-year-old actress is set to attend the lavish fundraising event – which is held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City – in just under two months, but she’s not leaving her dress until the last minute as she admits a team of designers have already logged a whopping 600 hours of work on the gown.
Speaking about her dress – which will fit this year’s ‘Heavenly Bodies’ theme – Blake teased to Vogue magazine: “This year’s may be my favourite dress ever. They’ve already worked on it for 600 hours, and it’s not done.”
And the ‘All I See Is You’ star later added that the design team were making something “custom” for her to wear to the bash.
She told Women’s Wear Daily: “They’re making something custom for it. So it’s kind of nice, because I have a bunch of artists around me who I have direct relationships with. It’s sort of a group effort with that. I rely on people who do that for a living rather than outsourcing it to someone else.”
Blake hasn’t confirmed which designer has come up with the idea for her gown, but has revealed she enlisted the help of jeweller Lorraine Schwartz and shoemaker Christian Louboutin to help her accessorise.
Meanwhile, there’s a chance Blake could have had a hand in designing the dress herself, as she recently revealed that she’s her own stylist.
She said: “It’s a lot of work – I mean, it’s not hard in that we all dress ourselves every morning. So once you have the clothes, you just pick out what to wear like any other human being does. But it’s easier because you have access to clothes and so it’s not that hard. The hard part is going through all the fashion shows and screenshotting all the looks you like and calling them in. I have an assistant who helps in calling in the looks. But a lot of it is I have relationships with the designers.”
