Dancing on Ice’s Greg Rutherford ‘a little bit’ worried injury will affect this weekend’s live show

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Dancing on Ice’ star Greg Rutherford is “a little bit” concerned about how his injury will impact his performance on Sunday’s (18.02.24) live show.
The retired Olympic long-jump champion retired from the sport in 2017 due to injuries, and after he suffered a nasty groin injury in training, Greg – who is partnered with Vanessa James on the ITV figure skating show – has admitted if it gets “any worse” it could cause him problems this weekend.
Speaking on ‘Alexis Conran and Friends’ on Channel 5, she said: “I’ll be retired now five years… and my body isn’t what it once was anyway. And I had to retire due to injuries anyway. So it’s very tough. And the thing is, you never lose the mindset of what you have. So in training and everything else, you’ll always push yourself. But the problem is things like this then take place and then you deal with it again, which is less than ideal.”
The host then asked if he’s worried his injuries will impact his performance on the show, to which he replied: “A little bit, yeah we’ll see, we’re having to push through to this weekend, I’m 100 per cent going to be fine for the weekend. I just hope it doesn’t get any worse. If it doesn’t get any worse. I’ll be fine.”
The pair scored their highest mark of the series on last week’s show with a ravishing Salsa to Ricky Martin’s ‘La Bomba’.
Meanwhile, Greg previously admitted he felt “absolutely awful” when Vanessa got hurt on the ice after he “threw her completely wrong”.
He told Express.co.uk: “We practised one of the flows that we were doing and I basically threw Vanessa completely wrong and really hurt her.I felt awful, absolutely awful. That really did hit me quite hard but it hit her harder as she hit the ice.”
Tune into ‘Alexis Conran and Friends’ weekdays from 12.45pm on Channel 5.
