OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price has been tipped to return to ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ for a third time.
The 45-year-old former glamour model made her debut in the ITV show in 2004 and returned for a comeback in 2009, but a new report suggests Katie could be heading back to the jungle for a third time as part of the next All Stars series which will be filmed in South Africa and broadcast in 2024.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Bosses were nervous to cast Katie in the first All Stars as they wanted to play it safe with names who wouldn’t do or say anything too controversial.
“But while the show did well enough in the ratings to earn a second run, it didn’t have the same impact as the regular show as a lot of viewers didn’t like the pe-recorded format or lack of public vote.
“This time around, they want to make a bigger splash by bringing back some of the bigger, more divisive characters from I’m A Celeb history, and Katie is high on the wish list.”
Another insider added that Katie would enjoy taking part because the All Stars series is pre-recorded and doesn’t include a public vote.
They explained: “The pre-recorded element would appeal to her too, as it would mean the public couldn’t keep voting for her to do the trials, which was one of the reasons she walked the second time around.”
Katie famously met her former husband Peter Andre during her first stint in the ‘I’m A Celebrity’. The pair hit it off in camp and went on to date before marrying and having two children together.
She made a comeback five years later but quit after just a week, later explaining she wasn’t happy with being voted to take part in so many challenges.
Speaking on her ‘The Katie Price Show’ podcast, the telly star explained: “The only reason I left the second time, was everyday the public was getting me to do challenges. I did them but people don’t realise that you only get two sets of clothes and once they’re wet, you can’t dry them, you have to wear them.
“I kept smelling of fish guts, it was awful and you’re wet and cold and I swore on my kids life that if the public vote me, then I’m walking. What happened … the public vote me and I had to stick to it.
“It was apparently an easy challenge and there were basically trying to keep me there. I think they were hinting that I was doing well but I walked. When I look back at the challenge, I wish I stayed and did it. Maybe there’s a third time lucky.”
