OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Oaten has been rushed to hospital after suffering a “really bad” fall.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress, 39, took to Instagram to share the news that she was in a sling after “chipping the bone” in her elbow.
In a photo of her badly bruised arm, she reassured her worried fans she was feeling “so positive” despite the accident.
She wrote: “News just in. It is a bloody fracture. Lordy!”
Earlier in the week, Gemma – who played Rachel Breckle in the ITV soap from 2011 to 2015 – told how she had taken a tumble while walking her dog Ruby.
She wrote on Instagram: “Then I fell. Literally. Really badly on the walk home with Ruby on Wednesday night.
“I then went to A and E and discovered I’ve got some nice little chips of bone off my elbow and now I’ve a glamorous sling and a heap of painkillers.
“Why am I sharing this? Well, to say – that’s life! It’s got it’s ups and downs, but it’s how you handle it that is the game changer.”
The actress reflected on the incident, expressing her gratitude for all her friends and family, as well as giving herself a pat on the back for how she is handling the situation.
She added: “I’m so blessed for this week. I’m so grateful for the moments, the friendships and the support of all I’m striving for. But most of all I’m proud of myself and how I have reacted.
“As the quote goes – ‘our greatest glory is not in ever falling, but in rising every time we fall’ CONFUCIOUS.
“I’m grand, I’m feeling so positive and empowered and considering the girl I was – I am bloody delighted with the open, authentic, vulnerable, bounce back ability woman I am becoming.
“Life is a journey. Keep learning. You matter. (sic)”
