OHMYGOSSIP — ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ will return with the show’s toughest ever Bushtucker Trials this year.
Executive producer Laura Woolf has confirmed there will be never-before-seen aspects of the ITV reality show, and Sunday night’s (19.11.23) season premiere will be “bigger” than ever.
She told The Sun newspaper: “The launch show is bigger and there are things we have never done before.”
The eating trials are expected to feature bigger portions, including a new addition of the Scandinavian pickled herring surstromming, which has been dubbed the “smelliest food in the world”.
A source added to the publication: “ITV has not come to play this year. The brief to teams was bigger, better, harder and more disgusting than ever.
“Gone are the days of Helen Flanagan and Kim Woodburn shrieking through trials, and it’s been ages since our last ‘Get Me Out Of Here!’ when a celeb refuses to take part.
“They’ve all got tougher and more professional as nobody wants to be seen as a quitter.
“Bosses are determined to really push the line-up this year.”
Last week, it was revealed the Walk the Plank entry challenge – which airs on launch night – will be back again, and it is expected to feature slippery poles.
News of the Walk the Plank trial’s return will not be music to the ears of singer Marvin Humes, who has a phobia of heights.
Asked about his phobias, he said: “Heights. I have pulled out of a skydive with JLS in the past because I was too scared!
“Heights do terrify me as do the snakes, the rats and the food situation.”
Former UKIP party leader Nigel Farage is also not a fan of heights.
He said: “I am particularly dreading anything to do with heights and everyone will have a degree of apprehension, but again this is what the test is.”
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ starts on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday 19 November at 9pm.
