OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Myers is “over the moon” after returning to TV following his cancer diagnosis.
The ‘Hairy Bikers’ star appeared as a guest on the BBC programme ‘Saturday Kitchen’ today (10.12.22) and was thrilled to be back on screen after announcing that he was undergoing chemotherapy earlier this year.
The 65-year-old chef – who was joined on the show by his ‘Hairy Bikers’ partner Si King – said: “It’s lovely to be back. It has been a rough year, I can’t pretend otherwise, and there were some times when I didn’t think I would be here for Christmas.
“I’ve got to give a shout to the doctors and nurses in Birmingham who put me back together, the surgeon who get me walking again and nurse Marion who, before my chemo, brings me cake in. Best banana bread ever.
“But it is lovely to be back. Si’s been looking after me, filling my freezer with mince and dumplings. Being back on ‘Saturday Kitchen’ is great, I think the first time we were here was 15 years ago.”
Dave recently said that the his life will “never be the same again” after his cancer ordeal.
He said: “I tell you. I’ll feel I’ve made it when I get the all-clear from this bloody cancer. That’s going to be completely life-changing, life-affirming.
“And life never will be the same again.”
Dave has endured numerous chemotherapy sessions and explained that he wouldn’t wish the process on anybody.
He said: “Fortunately I think the chemo’s working. But the effect that chemotherapy has on you … every day is a school day.
“My eyes are sore because my eyelashes have fallen out. It’s c*** like that, that’s really irritating.”
