OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Shirley Ballas is keen to join ‘Dancing With The Stars’.
The veteran performer has been a panelist on the BBC show since 2017 while her son Mark Ballas is a professional dancer on the American version – and Shirley has admitted she’d be up for for a stint on US TV.
Speaking to MailOnline, she said: “I never say never to anything that’s offered it’s just whether it gets offered or not.”
Shirley also explained she’s about to go visit her son in California where the show is made, adding: “My son lives in the US, in California where it’s filmed, I’m just about to go and visit him for the first time in three years this week so I feel jittery with excitement even though I’m not leaving until Saturday.”
The dance guru used to live in the US before moving back to her native UK and she admitted she can’t wait to make up for lost time with her son.
She explained: “I’m just taking two weeks off even if I sit across from him and just stare at his face, I just want to cuddle him. Just facetime, he’s definitely a facetime boy, a mummy’s boy …
“Because I lived there (in the US) for 11 years down the road from him, it’s only when I got the job (on ‘Strictly) and my mother got cancer that I decided to come back (to the UK), then not long after we went into the lockdown.
“So yeah I love being back (in the US) because I have all my friends, a lot of my work is over here, but it’s a heartstring tug not being over there.”
