OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Harris has joked he would rather “kick a wall” than spend time with his ‘Top Gear’ co-hosts Paddy McGuinness and Freddie Flintoff off-screen.
The 47-year-old presenter – who was joined on the motoring series alongside comedian Paddy, 48, and cricket legend Freddie, 44, in 2019 – admitted that while he is “friends” with his co-stars, he doesn’t socialise with them off-set.
He said: “I count Paddy and Freddie as friends but I don’t want to go to their houses. If I’m driving up north, I don’t think I’ll pop in and see Paddy for a cup of tea. I’d rather kick a wall with my bare foot.”
Chris – who joined the magazine show in 2016 following the departures of original stars Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond – admitted he and his fellow presenters barely speak when not filming the show, and joked he receives random “offensive messages” from them.
He told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “[After filming] there is a couple of weeks of decompression, but then I’ll get a random offensive message from one of them.”
Former ‘Take Me Out’ host Paddy – who is married to model Christine McGuinness, who he shares eight-year-old twins Penelope and Leo, and six-year-old daughter Felicity with – recently confessed he sees Freddie outside of work and takes the children to his house to use the swimming pool.
He said: “I took my kids around Freddie’s the other day because he’s got a swimming pool. It’s cheaper than the council baths for me. I can’t afford that level of luxury but luckily I have a friend who does. It was lovely!”
