OHMYGOSSIP — Iain Stirling is to voice ‘Love Island USA’.
The 34-year-old comedian has narrated the UK version of the ITV2 dating show since the first season in 2015, and the Peacock series have now acquired his services.
Jenny Groom, EVP of Entertainment Unscripted Content at NBCUniversal, said: “The moment the decision was made to bring an all-new version of ‘Love Island’ to Peacock, we knew we had to get Iain on board.
“Iain embodies everything fans love about the show – humour, irreverence and cheeky fun.
“‘Love Island’ would not be the same without him.”
The series will be filmed on the Californian coast.
Actor and TV presenter Matthew Hoffman previously narrated ‘Love Island USA’, which aired for three series on CBS.
The US show – which is produced by ITV Entertainment – was recently renewed for seasons four and five on Peacock.
Iain recently joked he is “naked in a cabin” when he records his ‘Love Island’ voice-overs, but insisted there is no chance of him appearing on-screen alongside his wife Laura Whitmore, who hosts the UK version of the show.
He said: “It’s not my gig, man. I’m happy being in the darkness and the ether. I’m just in the vibes, I don’t need to be in the front. Laura is very good at that, she does all that. It makes my life easier because I don’t have to do hair and make-up and stuff.
“I don’t have to put clothes on. I’m just naked in a cabin. Lockdown vibes. I’m basically going into another lockdown.”
