OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Woodyatt is hoping his stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ will “open the minds of producers” who have only thought of him as Ian Beale.
The ‘EastEnders’ actor has played the Walford businessman since the BBC One soap’s first-ever episode on February 19th 1985, but he is said to be keen to show viewers who “the real Adam” is.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper: “He’s excited by the prospect of showing the nation who the real Adam Woodyatt is.
“He is optimistic it will open the minds of producers who might have previously only thought of him as Ian.
“And there are plenty of stars who’ve gone on to new things as a result of ‘I’m A Celebrity’.”
This comes after Adam was rumoured to be joining this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity’ line-up alongside soap stars Danny Miller – who plays Aaron Dingle in ‘Emmerdale’ – and Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald).
Other stars linked to the series include former Premier League footballer David Ginola, pop star Frankie Bridge, Olympic diver Matty Lee, former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Arlene Phillips, music producer Naughty Boy, BBC Radio 1’s Snoochie Shy, Paralympian Kadeena Cox and presenter and TV presenters Richard Madeley and Louise Minchin.
A source recently said: “Signing up David is a real coup for the show, and he’s by far the biggest name going into the castle.
“He’s also an unexpected addition, as all the speculation tends to revolve around what British celebrities are likely to be on the show.
“But producers always tend to select a veteran sports star for the line up every year, especially one with a high profile like David unquestionably has.”
The new series, which will take place at Gwrych Castle in north Wales, will kick off on ITV on November 21.
