OHMYGOSSIP — Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish haven’t ruled out getting back together after leaving the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The water engineer admitted he would “like to think” the former couple could reunite on the outside, and waitress and marketing student Liberty said she could “never say never”.
Quizzed on whether there could be a reunion on the cards, Jake, 24, said: “You know, I think it will be a lot easier on the outside – I don’t know, really.
“Like I say, we have barely spoken to each other. I didn’t even have her number until last night, you know?
“I would like to think so, but it takes two to tango, doesn’t it?”
The 24-year-old star added: “Jake and I still get along really well. You can never say never because you just don’t know what is going to happen in the future.
“After we got out of the honeymoon phase, I do think we realised we are different people.
“We look at things differently and we see things differently.”
Liberty and Jake split last week and subsequently departed the villa to the shock of their fellow Islanders and many fans.
One of their reasons was to give the remaining four couples – Faye and Teddy Soares, Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran, Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank, and Millie Court and Liam Reardon – the chance to triumph in tonight’s (23.08.21) finale instead of them.
And Liberty has now admitted she has been inundated with young women telling her she is their “role model” – and that means more to her than being a finalist on the programme, or the £50,000 prize money.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she added: “I’ve had so many young girls reach out to me saying, ‘You’re my role model, you’re my inspiration, you’ve taught me self-love.’
“And to me that means more than getting to the final or winning any money.
“The fact I can be a role model for young women out there is amazing.”
