OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Cornish will ask Liberty Poole to be his girlfriend in tonight’s episode of ‘Love Island’.
The happy couple have been together since the very first episode of this year’s series, and on Friday (23.07.21) night, the 24-year-old water engineer will finally ask to make things official with the 21-year-old waitress.
Speaking to the boys before the big event, he says: “I think it’s maybe time to take the plunge and put a label on it.”
Jake then enlists the help of his fellow islanders to set up a surprise for Liberty, which involves Hugo Hammond and Liam Reardon serenading the pair as they sit down for their dinner.
Liberty asks Jake: “Is this the sort of treatment I’ll be getting every night?”
Liam and his partner Millie Court then bring over spaghetti bolognese for the happy couple, before Teddy Soares and Faye Winter supply dessert.
After their meal, Jake and Liberty take a seat on the bean bags and Jake says: “I wanted to bring you here and just say how happy you make me to be honest.”
To which Liberty replies: “I’ve never connected with someone the way I have with you, ever. All cards on the table, I don’t think I really knew what love was until I met you.”
And Jake then asks the all-important question: “I feel like I’ve found the one. Will you be my girlfriend?”
Elsewhere in the episode, there’s romance in store for Liam and Millie as they head out on their first date outside of the villa.
The pair are set to have a heart to heart while away from the other islanders, and Liam admits his mum will “definitely love” Millie.
Mille says: “I feel like it has moved very quickly. I was really nervous and shy. As much as I really fancied you, I didn’t think we would have this connection.”
And when asked how they’d work on the outside, she adds: “I want to know what you think your mum is going to think of me.”
Before Liam responds: “She’ll definitely love you.”
Viewers will also get to see the fallout from Hugo’s explosive speech during Thursday’s (22.07.21) recoupling, which saw him slam Toby Aromolaran for ditching Chloe Burrows in favour of new arrival Abigail Rawlings.
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and the ITV Hub.
