OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond was rushed to hospital over a suspected blood clot.
The ‘This Morning’ star suffered a fall last Friday (25.06.21) when she slipped on the wet tiles in her back garden while she was heading back inside to get some shelter from the rain.
And she later noticed a vein on the back of her leg, and had to head to hospital on her doctor’s orders.
Speaking on today’s episode (02.07.21) of the ITV show, Alison said: “This vein came on the back of my knee, right. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got a DVT.’ I went to the doctors and the doctor said, ‘You really need to go to hospital!’
“So then I’m in hospital for the next seven hours … they patched me up, I did my blood test – no DVT.
“It was just a vein in the back of my leg! and I’m getting old.”
Alison also explained how she took a tumble in her garden before spotting the vein.
Laughing with co-host Dermot O’Leary, she said: “Last Friday, I finished the show with Dermot, had a lovely time. Went home, was chilling out and then the rain came down.
“My brother said, ‘Alison come in, it’s raining!’ I started walking out, had the rain in my face, my arms were out and something terrible happened. What happens? I slipped.”
The 46-year-old presenter – who accidentally flashed the CCTV camera because she likes to “take all [her] underwear off at home” – admitted it was a “bad fall”, and she thought she’d broken her leg.
She added: “It’s actually quite a bad fall, you know! You’ve gotta imagine – it’s raining, it’s full on … I can’t get up because I think I’ve broken my leg.
“So my brother comes out, he’s trying to lift me up, his bottom is showing all on the CCTV.
“He can’t lift me up because obviously I’m quite big. He helps me up, I eventually use the bad leg and then totter inside.”
