OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Lewis reiterated he doesn’t want the ‘Good Morning Britain’ job permanently as he completed his guest hosting stint on the show today (30.06.21).
The finance expert presented the breakfast show alongside Susanna Reid from Monday (28.06.21) until today, and while he “wouldn’t mind coming back for a couple of days”, he isn’t keen to be on the programme full-time.
At the end of Wednesday’s show, Susanna said: “Martin, it’s been absolutely wonderful having you this week.
“It’s absolutely fantastic working alongside you.”
Martin said: “It has been a wonderful, refreshing change to be outside my normal subject, which I love and I will be going back to.
“I think I have a mission in life and that’s about saving people money and fighting for financial justice.
“But to have a platform here and to come and do this, maybe you’ll have me back for another few days – I don’t want the gig permanently.
“But I wouldn’t mind coming back for a couple of days at a time, that would be lovely.”
Martin – who is Jewish – brought in a present for the ‘GMB’ crew in the shape of some chocolate rugelach.
He said: “I brought something in, this is a good Jewish dish. This is chocolate rugelach.
“If you think of a pain au chocolat and looked at it and thought, ‘It’s way too healthy, how do we make it dirty, calorific and a lot more stodgy?’
“Its Jewish cousin, the chocolate rugelach, is that.
“So I brought some in for you all to have as a bit of a celebration.”
On Monday, Martin was forced to defend himself after he turned up for his guest hosting stint without wearing a tie, despite admitting ‘GMB’ bosses told him to wear one.
But after a poll with the show’s viewers, more than 89 per cent said they were happy with his choice of wardrobe so he continued to go tie-less throughout the week.
