OHMYGOSSIP — Maura Higgins and Giovanni Pernice have fuelled speculation they are dating.
The ‘Love Island’ star and the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro are said to be “really into each other”, after initially enjoying a few dates.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “They’re a thing now. At first it was just a couple of dates and some fun but it’s getting more serious and they’re clearly really into each other. They certainly look great together but they’re really getting on well, too.
“They’re both busy with careers but hopefully the summer will give them time to get to know each other better. They’re keeping it a bit quiet as they’ve both had failed public relationships but it’s hotting up really fast.”
Maura recently split from fellow ‘Love Island’ star Chris Taylor in May after six months of dating.
The 30-year-old star announced the split on her Instagram Stories, telling her 3.1 million followers that she and Chris, also 30, had made a joint decision to call time on their romance.
Maura wrote: “It breaks my heart to even type this. But I wanted to let everyone know that myself and Chris have made the joint decision to end our relationship. ‘There is no wrongdoing on either side … we still love, care & respect each other deeply. From the minute we met each other we’ve been very close friends and that will never change.
“There is no regret. Life is about taking chances. We wanted to make this work but we have realised we work better being friends. “Whilst I appreciate people may speculate or create false stories, this is the truth. I wish Chris nothing but the best and I will always be one of his biggest supporters. (sic)”
Giovanni split from Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts in January, but recently described his ideal woman as “blonde with blue eyes”.
He said: “Obviously you’ve got to look good otherwise it’s not gonna happen but I go more for the connection than what you look like.”
