OHMYGOSSIP — Colette Mann has suffered an eye injury after running into scaffolding on the ‘Neighbours’ set.
The 70-year-old star – who plays Sheila Canning – is sporting a nasty-looking black eye after she accidently sped into some staging while filming a stunt scene on the Australian soap opera.
She posted a still from the scene, which sees Yashvi Rebecchi and Levi Canning – played by Olivia Junkeer and Richie Morris, respectively – in a car crash, and wrote: “This was just before I turned and ran into a piece of scaffolding erected for the stunt.
“You will notice the amazing make up over the next week or so by Alex Long and Jamie Minney to cover the damage I inflicted on myself”.
Colette shared an update of her injury the next day with a snap of her wound.
She wrote on Instagram: “And here she is the next Day … the smash queen , who was so in the moment that she didn’t see the scaffolding and cracked into it full force … lucky I am so short it just missed my eye. The crew said the noise was terrible when I hit it. But hey @nzgstrachan had a show to direct and I wasn’t going to stop for anything @neighbours ! Makeup miracle workers ! (sic)”
A number of co-stars and fans took to the comments to wish Colette a speedy recovery.
Courtney Act – who appeared on the soap in 2020 – wrote: “Ouch! Hope ur ok (sic)”
While co-star Matt Wilson – who plays Aaron Brennan – commented: “Omg I didn’t even know this! (sic)”
It comes after Colette recently revealed she is finally getting used to the social distancing rules on set after she kept forgetting she can’t touch her co-stars.
She said: “It was just muscle memory. When you’re in the moment, that’s what you would normally do. But we are getting so used to the safe-distancing rules.
“The directors and all the young actors are being amazing about it. Viewers will notice we don’t sit close to each other any more but the integrity of the script is there.”
