OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall has tried to “simplify” her life since splitting from her ex-husband Matthew Robertson.
The ‘Masked Dancer’ judge split from Matthew in 2017, and has said she felt “awkward” when they first separated because they were still living together while she worked on sorting out her own place.
But since making the move to rent a property, Davina has taken the steps to live a more minimalistic life, and says things feel more “positive” for her now.
She said: “I was in a real transitional phase. We’d still been living in our house together, which was awkward. I was in this weird no-man’s land.
“Then I started renting a place and that felt like the first step in a new phase. Since then, I’ve really tried to simplify my life, which has been a very positive thing.”
The 53-year-old television star is now dating hairdresser Michael Douglas.
And sharing her tips for those close to anyone else going through heartbreak, she told Good Housekeeping magazine: “My advice to friends of anyone going through it is: even if someone looks fine, support them. Be there.”
Davina was married to Matthew for 17 years, and the pair have Holly, 19, Tilly, 17, and Chester, 14, together.
Meanwhile, Davina recently admitted she “horrified” her teenage son with her farts after she rediscovered her love of baked beans which triggered a flatulence problem.
She said: “So it’s been a long time since I’ve had a baked bean, a long time. The other night, Chester said, I really fancy some baked beans. We did fish with homemade roast potatoes, broccoli with some baked beans on the side.
“Thank God you weren’t staying at my house that night because I would have literally turned into a blimp and taken off. I honestly have never ever farted like that. I was horrified, I had to leave the room. To horrify a 14-year-old boy with farts who usually finds farts funny … it was bad.”
