OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby used to be “terrified” to ask big questions on ‘This Morning’.
The 40-year-old TV presenter admitted she had a “fear of looking stupid” when she first joined the ITV daytime show and would avoid asking “important questions” during interviews.
She told Radio Times magazine: “When I started, I was terrified. I only ever felt comfortable in cookery and fashion – I was so scared of asking important questions for fear of looking stupid.
“I was quite young and I think some people were questioning whether I was the right person for the job.”
Holly joined Phillip Schofield on ‘This Morning’ from Monday to Thursday in 2009, replacing his previous co-host Fern Britton.
While Holly is now comfortable on the show, she is set to step into the unknown after she recently landed a dream cameo in ‘Midsomer Murders’.
The show’s stars Neil Dudgeon and Nick Hendrix appeared on ‘This Morning’ in March for an interview, and they surprised Holly with the news.
After her co-host Phillip teased there was something she didn’t know, Neil said: “We’ve all had a big talk about who we want to appear on ‘Midsomer’, and we decided we want Holly Willoughby to appear in an episode of ‘Midsomer Murders’ very soon.
“I’ve been speaking to people upstairs and they’ve been speaking to your people. Holly please, I am emboldened here to offer you a role in ‘Midsomer Murders.’ ”
Holly immediately shouted “yes”, and was overcome with emotions after receiving such exciting news.
She added: “I’ve seen every episode since it started way back when. Are you serious?
“I mean, you’re going to have to kill me off really quickly as I’m terrible at acting.”
Neil quipped: “That’s never held us back in ‘Midsomer.’ ”
