OHMYGOSSIP — Dita Von Teese has been unmasked as Beetroot on ‘The Masked Dancer’.
The 48-year-old burlesque dancer was booted from the ITV reality competition on Monday (31.05.21), after the virtual audience voted to put Scarecrow, Llama, and Zip through to the next round, while sending Beetroot and Knickerbocker Glory to the dance-off to perform again.
Judges Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse, Mo Gilligan, and Davina McCall then chose to save Knickerbocker Glory, meaning Beetroot was unmasked and Dita’s identity was revealed.
And the judges were all shocked when Dita removed her mask, as none of them correctly guessed her identity, instead entering guesses including Zara Larrson, Kelly Osbourne, Kim Cattrall, Miley Cyrus, and Mary Berry.
Commenting on her elegance and graceful arm movements, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Oti asked her: “Have you had any dance training?”
To which Dita replied: “Yeah, I always say I was a failed ballerina. I wanted to be a ballerina more than anything in the world, but my ballet teachers were like, ‘Oh your arms and legs are great!’ but I can’t follow choreography.”
And Jonathan told her: “You move with such grace and elegance, and of course you do because that’s what you do on stage and that’s why people love you.”
Dita’s unmasking comes as Jordan Banjo and Louise Redknapp were the first two stars revealed on the show over the weekend.
Still yet to be unveiled on the ‘The Masked Dancer’ are Knickerbocker Glory, Zip, Scarecrow, Llama, Squirrel, Frog, Rubber Chicken, Beagle, and Carwash.
