OHMYGOSSIP — Ant McPartlin is reportedly planning to wed Anne-Marie Corbett in August.
The 45-year-old TV presenter got engaged at Christmas and he’s now set to tie the knot in a low-key ceremony in front of a few close friends and family members.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Neither of them want the razzmatazz of a showbiz wedding. They just want their nearest and dearest with them.
“It will be a simple but beautiful ceremony, without the glare of the spotlight.
“They’re both extremely excited and can’t wait to tie the knot.
“But they’re desperate to keep a lid on things. Those who know have been told it’s top secret.
“Anne-Marie has already been for her dress fitting.”
By contrast, Ant and his make-up artist ex, Lisa Armstrong, got married at Cliveden House Hotel, Buckignhamshire, in front of 150 guests in 2006.
The lavish ceremony was followed by a huge fireworks display.
News of Ant’s engagement to Anne-Marie was confirmed in December, when a spokesperson for the TV star revealed the loved-up couple were both “delighted”.
The spokesperson shared at the time: “Ant and Amzie are delighted to announce their engagement. The proposal took place on Christmas Eve at home in a very romantic setting.”
Friends of Ant – who designed the engagement ring himself – revealed he’d been planning the proposal for some time.
One insider explained: “Ant has been planning this for some time – but wanted to make sure the moment was just right.
“He’s a traditionalist, so got down on one knee after first checking with Anne Marie’s family that he had their blessing. It was super-romantic, and obviously Anne-Marie said ‘yes’ straight away.
“Obviously getting engaged in the midst of a pandemic isn’t ideal when it comes to planning a wedding … at the moment a summer ceremony is looking extremely unlikely, so it may well be a 2022 affair.”
