OHMYGOSSIP — Mo Gilligan says he has an advantage on ‘The Masked Dancer’ because he’s a great dancer.
The 33-year-old comedian thinks he could be the new ITV competition’s secret weapon as he attended Pimlico School in West London, where he was taught a range of dance techniques.
He said during the show’s launch: “I studied performing arts and I had to do dance as part of the course.
“I can do a bit of ballet, contemporary dance and stuff – I would have been in the Royal Ballet but I did my knee in.”
The programme – which is presented by Joel Dommett – will see a number of contestants perform various dance moves whilst dressed in extravagant costumes to hide their identity, and the judges will have to guess who they are based on their moves.
Mo will be joined on the judging panel with Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro Oti Mabuse – who thinks Mo could surprise viewers with his dance knowledge.
She said: “Jonathan is the king of dance — he’s the ultimate dad dancer. He has this little bum wiggle.
“Joel is like the prince of dance with his ‘running man’ and Davina’s the queen of dance who just does the whole Beyonce.
“But Mo is actually trained as a dancer — did you not know that? I’ve never seen him dance but I think he can surprise us.”
Meanwhile, the likes of Holly Willoughby, David Walliams and John Bishop are set to appear as guest judges.
The ‘This Morning’ presenter recently said: “How the Masked Dancers are able to pull off the moves they’re doing in these costumes is mind blowing!
“I absolutely loved joining the panel as a special guest and getting to play detective. You’re all in for a real treat.”
