OHMYGOSSIP — Mica Paris is open to an ‘EastEnders’ return.
The 52-year-old star – who appeared in the BBC soap from September to October last year as Ellie Nixon – has suggested there is potential for an Albert Square comeback because the character wasn’t killed off.
She told MailOnline: “She’s definitely not dead, honey! I loved doing that role. It was very powerful – intense! And she didn’t die, so…”
The singer and actress had a great time acting alongside Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) and she admitted despite their villainous characters, they had “such a giggle” between scenes.
She added: “Steve and I – he’s a fantastic guy – and it was so nice being with him, he’s good people!
“We would have such a giggle – and then we’d switch into these monsters. Then in between we would giggle again. But doing EastEnders – it’s like a family there.
“They all look out for each other. It’s such a good place to work because everyone pulls together, in terms of support. Even when you’re the outsider, there are no bad vibes at all.”
Mica landed the part back in February last year, but the coronavirus pandemic meant she couldn’t get on set to start filming until the summer.
She said: “Imagine that trepidation! I was terrified! But I guess I had more time to make it right. And when I did start, because of restrictions, everything was quite slow.
“So we filmed with Perspex screens, and with dummies, and there was a woman with a stick to make sure you were social distancing.”
Back in December, Mica admitted she hadn’t been asked to return to Walford yet, but would be willing to reprise her role because she had an “amazing time” on the soap.
When asked if fans will be seeing Ellie in 2021, she teased: “Let me just tell you I had such an amazing time, it was two months of total fun, Steve’s great, a lovely guy, Diane [Parish] is amazing just, great people.
“It’s very family there, so if the phone rings I’ll let you know but it ain’t rung yet.”
