OHMYGOSSIP — Iain Stirling is worried parenthood could affect his ‘Love Island’ commentary.
The 33-year-old comedian – who has a baby with show host Laura Whitmore – fears that once the ITV2 dating show starts, he will be too tired to “remember all the names” when he is in the voiceover booth narrating the programme.
He said: “Trying to remember all the names in the voiceover booth, what is going on? ‘Craig’s coupled up with whats-her-name again?’ ”
However, the couple are planning to split their roles “50/50” so Laura can take the baby when she is not presenting the show.
Speaking on the ‘Lockdown Parenting Hell’ podcast, he said: “The plan will be to 50/50 and streamline what it is we do.”
The pair are still said to be in the dark about where this year’s show will be filmed as they may not be able to fly to Majorca due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But Iain admitted he doesn’t really need to travel to Spain for his role.
He added: “In a way though, for the first two series, it was much better for me to be in Spain because I’m not a huge reality TV fan.
“When you’re in Spain, you get engrossed in this TV show because there’s not a lot else to do really. It became my world.”
Laura took to Instagram last month to announce the birth of their baby girl, writing: “thanks for all the kind messages at this time. We are in love x (sic)”.
A number of celebrity pals left messages of congratulations on the post, with Tamzin Outhwaite writing “congratulations darling” and Gaby Roslin commenting: “Huge congratulations. Sending so much love to the three of you”.
Jessie Ware wrote “Mazel tov”, and ‘Great British Bake Off’ star Candice Brown wrote: “Oh my darling am so so happy for you both congratulations xxxx (sic)”.
Kimberley Walsh added: “Congrats babe! Enjoy every second.”
