OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary are set to host ‘This Morning’ over the half-term holiday.
The presenting duo will be hosting the ITV show during the holiday, rather than Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, who used to fill in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield over half-term.
Alison, 46, and Dermot, 48, joined the programme as permanent presenters earlier this year, as part of a shake-up of the long-running show.
The move was announced by ITV in November, when Alison revealed she was looking forward to the challenge.
She said at the time: “I never dreamt that when I first joined This Morning – initially for a few months – that I would still be there 19 years later.
“I genuinely care about the show and the viewers who watch, so it’s a huge privilege and honour to be hosting a show I adore so much. I’m just really excited to be doing even more of what I love alongside the lovely Dermot.”
Alison and Dermot recently discussed their on-screen partnership, with the former ‘Big Brother’ star admitting it’s been an “absolute dream” for her.
She said: “I’ve loved every minute of it to be honest! I think the best thing really is getting to know Dermot.
“We had obviously met before and had seen each other over the past 20 years, but we didn’t really know each other. He always shows me pictures and videos of his baby and his cats, so I’m finding out so much more about him and his wonderful family. He’s just a really cool person.”
Dermot has also loved the experience.
He shared: “She really is just wonderful to work with, it’s been great and for me, the shows are about informing, entertaining and having fun, and the Fridays in particular are about gearing up to the weekend – enjoying your Friday and easing yourself into the weekend – and I think we provide that mix brilliantly together.”
