OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Tutty is set to join ‘Hollyoaks’ as a criminal mastermind.
The 23-year-old actor will join the cast of the Channel 4 soap as Timmy Simons, an IT whizkid who works for Fergus Collins.
Timmy will look after the technical side of Fergus’ twisted money-making scheme involving hidden CCTV cameras filming unsuspecting girls.
Talking about joining the Channel 4 soap, Sam said: “Working at ‘Hollyoaks’ is an absolute delight. Everyone has been so welcoming and have been very supportive whenever I have had any questions. This mainly goes out to the wonderful Robert Beck who plays Fergus, Timmy’s terrifying overseer.
“I feel so privileged to play a character like Timmy, he is clearly terrified of those he works for. His poisoned moral compass has led him down a treacherous path and I’m very excited to see what’s at the end.”
Sam is best known for his role as Evan Hansen in the West End production of ‘Dear Evan Hansen’, for which he won the Olivier award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2020.
The news was confirmed after ‘Hollyoaks’ received backlash for casting AJ and Curtis Pritchard in the soap.
Parry Glasspool – who played Harry Thompson in the Channel 4 show from 2013 until the character was killed off in 2019 – insisted that seeing the pro dancer brothers in the programme “sucks” for budding actors who are “trying to catch a break”.
He wrote on his Instagram Stories: “As if budding actors didn’t struggle enough, now they have to compete with folks with zero interest in acting, but have s*** tone of followers.
“No offence for those who can hustle, but sucks for those trying to catch a break.”
