OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Gogglebox’ stars Jenny and Lee were forced to apologise after fans were left confused over their future on the show.
The Channel 4 show’s couch critics, close pals Jenny Newby and Lee Riley, had fans thinking they were departing the programme for good as they tweeted about the final episode of the current series on Friday (21.05.21).
The pair had posted on their joint Twitter account: “It’s Friday it’s Gogglebox D Day for Jenny. Did Jenny get it right see ya at 9 to find out xx #Gogglebox (sic)”
And after being inundated with messages from their followers asking if it was the last time they would appear on ‘Gogglebox’, they replied: “Just saying goodbye to series 17 back in September sorry.”
During the season finale, Jenny had also hinted at retirement.
She told her pal: “I’m 66 you know, I get my pension in June, I’ve been notified.”
To which he replied: “You are one of those old women aren’t you who goes ‘don’t you know how old I am, I’m 66 you know?”
She quipped back: “Oh no, I don’t ever say that. I tell them I’m 48 and I’ve had a hard life.
“I never tell anybody I’m 66, even though I’m not really bothered about my age.”
Last week, the pair shared a video update on filming the final.
Lee said in the clip: “It’s our last filming week this week so we’re filming today.”
Jenny added: “I’m going home soon.
“Have a great Friday everyone last week of filming for us of series 17.”
