OHMYGOSSIP — Ricky Wilson has narrated a Sky Kids original comedy.
The Kaiser Chiefs frontman has lent his voice to the upcoming animated school-based comedy ‘Dodo’, which tells the story of secondary school pupil Joe – voiced by ‘Derry Girls’ actor Dylan Llewellyn – as he navigates his first year, which is full of drama and awkward situations.
Luckily, Joe has his best friends Frisbo, Pete and Lily to help him face any challenge that comes his way.
Also joining the cast is Mark Watson, who voices the character of Joe’s dad, and Connor Swindells as Joe’s older brother Jamie, with Ellie Kendrick, Kadiff Kirwan and Frankie Fox, voicing Joe’s friends Lily, Pete and Frisbo.
Estelle Hughes, Commissioning Editor for Sky Kids, said: “Joe’s dramas at secondary school will feel familiar to anyone who has ever experienced the highs, lows and anxieties of the first year in ‘big school’.
“Yet, with his incredible animated fantasies and disaster scenarios, they’re also uniquely funny and surprising. We know our audience will love this show.”
The series is based on YouTube hit ‘Not The End of the World’, by British creator and series director Jack Bennett, and is produced by BAFTA-winning Wildseed Studios.

It comes after Ricky – who worked as a art teacher before finding fame – signed up for ‘Celebrity Supply Teacher’ to teach kids about art during the coronavirus lockdown.
He also swapped his microphone for a paintbrush in his recent show ‘Ricky Wilson’s Art Jam’ which sees the rocker invite his celebrity mates to his studio to release their creativity.
