OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Conley would love to land a spot on the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judging panel.
The ‘EastEnders’ newcomer – who made his debut as Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) estranged father Terry Cant on the BBC One soap this week – has revealed another dream job he is eyeing up.
After co-hosting daytime variety show ‘Let Me Entertain You’ with Christine Bleakley on BBC Two between 2006 and 2007, the entertainer has set his sights on a job on the ITV talent contest.
Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: “Is it true I would love to be a judge on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. I think I could contribute to that just because of all the things I have done in the business.
“I also did a show on BBC Two years ago called ‘Let Me Entertain You’ and that was way before ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
“I love nurturing talent.”
The current panel for ‘BGT’, which won’t be on screens until 2022, features head honcho Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
Meanwhile, Brian recently confessed he got lost in Albert Square after filming his first scene.
The comedian recalled going into the Queen Vic to pick up his things after shooting a scene in the Square, but he went back outside and was stunned to see everyone had left.
He said: “My first scene is with my daughter Natalie Cassidy, Sonia, and we had to do this scene outside just right in the Square and it’s very dark and we had this dramatic scene and everyone goes, ‘Alright that’s it, thanks.’
“I went back into The Vic and I put my coat back on, found my script, got my coffee and when I came back out everyone had gone and I didn’t know how to get back.”
Brian stumbled upon the show’s fictional Tube station Walford East, but realised he couldn’t get the London Underground home because it isn’t a real station.
He said: “You go up here, down there and suddenly I’m here and I don’t know what to do.
“I can’t catch a train because it’s not a real train station.”
At one point, the 59-year-old star thought it might have been a prank and the cast and crew were going to “jump out” and surprise him.
He added: “Then I was thinking, ‘Oh maybe this is a joke and they’re all going to jump out.’
“I was just wandering around the square all on my own, it was very weird.”
