OHMYGOSSIP — Shirley Ballas is among the contestants who have signed up for ‘Cooking With The Stars’.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ head judge will be partnered up with a professional chef and try to complete a series of cooking challenges in the hope of overcoming seven other celebrity competitors.
Each celebrity will be trained by their mentor to serve up a delicious dish that will then be marked by the rest of the professional panel, with the bottom two celebs going head-to-head for their place in the competition.
They will have to create a dish without the help of their mentors, who will blindly taste their creations and pick who goes home.
Also joining the 60-year-old dancer on the show is fellow ‘Strictly’ star Catherine Tyldesley – who took part in the dancing competition in 2019 – as well as TV presenter Denise Van Outen, McFly’s Harry Judd, comedian and actor Johnny Vegas, TV presenter AJ Odudu, comedian and actor Griff Rhys-Jones and DJ and songwriter Naughty Boy.
TV chef Rosemary Shrager, ‘This Morning’ star Joseph Denison Carey, food writer and restaurant owner Nisha Katona, Michelin-starred chef Mark Sargeant, chef director Jack Stein, Korean food expert Judy Joo, chef and business owner Tristan Welch and Italian restaurateur Francesco Mazzei will be in the chef’s corner.
It comes after Shirley revealed she is studying to become a TV presenter as she would love to host her own morning show where she can talk about “real issues” she has experienced.
She said: “I want to go into presenting so I’m doing a lot of studying. I would love to do a morning show.
“I’m 60 and healthy and I feel like I want to help people, talk about all the real issues that I’ve gone through and spoke about in my book.
“So to do a show where people can communicate and phone in and I can help, that would be great. It could be on radio too.
“I don’t just want to sit where I am, I want to keep moving to show older women that there’s possibilities if you study and are open to new things.”
