OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hegerty would like to do more comedy acting.
The ‘Chase’ star is keen to take on new acting roles and has revealed that one of ‘The Chase’ writers has even penned a new comedy show script with her in mind.
She said: “I wouldn’t mind doing more acting and I’d like to do comedy. One of the writers on The Chase has actually written a sitcom with a part for me in it, so we’re trying to get it produced. It’s about these two idiot middle-aged brothers who live together and I’m the housekeeper and the only one with any sense. If I get offered something, I look at whether I am able to be funny. For me, that’s really important.”
And the 62-year-old quizzer says her ‘The Chase’ alter ego is just a “super confident” version of herself as she revealed she gets the “odd flirtatious message”.
She added: “You get the odd flirtatious message and you can’t quite work out if you’re being flirted with or if it’s an April fool. The Governess is what I would be like if I didn’t have any self-doubt. She knows everyone is scared of her and everyone secretly fancies her as well – well certain kind of men. She can flirt with the men and they will flirt back. She’s a super confident version of me.”
Anne admits she doesn’t really understand why people are so overfamiliar with her.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: “One of the wisest things our first producer said to me was, ‘They see you in their living room, they think you’re their friend.’ There are times when I’ve had to quietly indicate to people, ‘I’m not your friend and I’m not going to come and be on your quiz team.'”
