OHMYGOSSIP — James Bye has admitted it was “an honour” working with Davood Ghadami on ‘EastEnders’.
The Martin Fowler actor has praised his “insanely talented” pal after his character Kush Kazemi was killed off in last night’s (19.04.21) episode of the BBC One soap when he was pushed in front of an oncoming London Underground train by evil Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith).
James wrote on Instagram: “The train never even touched him!!!
@therealdavood what do I say???
I think this picture sums us up perfectly! Consummate professionals at all times
No one makes me laugh this hard.
My best mate, my brother. Often lover…
Spending the last 6 and a bit years across the hall from you… watching…listening, but mainly watching…has been a pleasure! I’ve taught you everything I know and now it’s time for you to fly my friend – not too far, obvs! @bbcholbycity would work nicely and I know you are going to continue to share your warm heart and “unique charm” over there!
I’m going to miss you mate. It’s very rare we’re serious with each other but it has to be said – you are insanely talented and working with you was an honour!! Love you… ‘sometimes maaaaaaan’
In the words of the late great Kush Kazemi “You’re the best mate I ever had!”
MUSH forever!!!!

Several other ‘EastEnders’ stars reacted to the post.
Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler) wrote: “Love this guys”
Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell) posted: “Your friendship is everything.. love you both (sic)”
Louisa Lytton (Ruby Allen) wrote: “Love you both”
Davood – who is to join ‘Holby City’ – also praised the ‘EastEnders’ crew for their hard work, after they built a new set, the inside of a Tube station, for Kush’s exit stunt.
He wrote on Twitter: “So much work goes into each episode of @bbceastenders
Kudos to all those behind the camera #team (sic)”
Gray pushed Kush into the incoming train following a scuffle, which saw Gray initially fall on the tracks only to be saved by Kush. Davood admitted the pair were able to bubble up to enable them to film the intense scenes without needing to socially distance.
Speaking in a behind the scenes video on the ‘EastEnders’ Twitter account, he added: “We’ve been really lucky.
“We’ve been able to bubble up together. We’ve been tested so we can ensure that we can actually make contact and do it all properly, and have the real fights and the saving and pushing.
“Under the circumstances, that’s really nice.”
